Studio Shamshiri “Tehran and Rome: two truly ancient places. We were both born in Tehran and our father is originally from there. Meanwhile, our mother is from Rome. Other sources of inspiration include: Italian style from the 1960’s. Rudolph Schindler and his use of humble materials and high-design, Edwardian lace, 1940’s aesthetic, and Carlo Mollino’s apartment.” - Pamela Shamshiri, Founder of ‘Studio Shamshiri’ on what inspires them. Brother and sister duo Pamela And Ramin Shamshiri, American interior designers with Iranian origins, founded ‘Studio Shamshiri’ back in 2016 and haven’t looked back since. She was among the four founding partners of the Californian studio 'Commune Design' where she worked from 2004 to 2015, earning the ‘Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Award’ together with her all-star team. He was busy working in scenography and artistic direction. Together, from their homes in Los Angeles, the pair tackle incredible residential, commercial, and hospitality projects both in the United States and abroad. Their philosophy is driven by a forward-thinking strategy with an eye on the past. By digging deep into the archives, they apply the methods and rules of yesteryear to modern projects.
