Poor gourmet week
It´s Monday, It´s Easter (I hate It with all my heart). So why not to lock all doors of my house and post something boring noonecaring useful. Today It´s going to be one of inspiration post. My study week consists practicaly 3,5 days. To Brno I arrive on Sunday in the evening so no cooking at all. After that Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday and half of Thursday (dinner at home). It means about 11 dishes I make in the flat. I pack mostly everything at home ( Just steal everything from family´s fridge. You know, I´m still poor student) and improvise do magic in my kitchen. Lot of people told me: I want to eat clean, I want to stay lean, I don´t want to eat that rubish every damn day, but what to eat? Healthy cuisine is invaried, uninteresting, unappetizing, hard to prepare. So I will show you how I eat in college....HOW I ROLL!
Let´s summarize what I took with myself last week.
Fruits: mango, sliced pineapple, one nicely ripe banana, lemon, apple, white grapes and strawberries
Vegetables: red peppers, sliced avocado, two eggplants, three cooked sweet potatoes, few cherry tomatoes, a piece of cucumber
Others: black olives, tub of cottage cheese, apple muffins with ginger topping (recipe here), cooked chickpea, dates, hazelnuts, dried tomatoes in oil, coconut flakes, one serving of scitec protein, coconut butter, pirate musli (I don´t buy this stuff, It was part of winning price I got with my dancing buddies on a competition), roll of aluminum foil, crab sticks Surimi (utter disappointment!!), mouthwash, beet-root/apple juice and new silicone mold for waffles from Lidl
I wasn´t planning to eat It all during one week but sometime I just take more to fill the pantry. ;) I´m not a black hole, well not everytime.
Monday:
As I live with two other jerks, Monday and Thursday are the only days I can have smoothies for my breakfast ( because of the mixer sound). Summer love: Apple+Mango+Pineapple+coconut powder, decorated with dried hibiscus flower served with the best muffin. Thank yourGod for this!
After an hour in a gym this is what I would kill die for. Protein powder.
Amix - flavor of wild berries, yummy.
During the way home I stoped at Lidl and bought this raspberries sauce. We´ll see.
Unbelievably good! Really! Everyone should try this. Every salad with this sauce will taste like summer.
Basil leaves, avocado, cherry tomatoes, red pepper, black berries, raspberry sauce <3 and salmon I had in freezer (just pack in aluminum foil with onion, garlic and fresh herbs->put in the oven for about 25 minutes)
Tuesday:
Kings breakfast: cottage cheese with homemade jam, pineapple layer, strawberry layer and spred with anything you like (musli, nuts, seeds, coconut...)
lunch at school: sweet potato, red pepper, avocado, cherry tomatoes, chickpea, black olives, cucumber and seasoning
Simple, so good and health packed in a box. 100 points to Gryffindor!
Normally I don´t go out for a dinner but my friend told me he knows some restaurants where they cook also vegan/vegetarian meals so (as a big fan) I just must. Don´t look at me like that.
I ordered spicy mungo noodles. Really good and reeeeeaaally spicy. I cried in the end of eating. The place was called Vegalite (city Brno). Very good price (90 Kč for 400g, c´mon!). Well done, wasn´t my last visit at all.
(My friend ordered grilled camembert)
Wednesday:
Breakfast, breakfast!
Wheat-apple-poppy-coconut porridge sweetened with juice of peach compote with apples, strawberries, grapes, spelt popcorn, seeds and goji.
Love, love, love. Strawberry fields forever...
I´m the man lunch in the box!
Basil+cherry tomatoes+roasted eggplant+dried tomatoes+salmon and apple/beet-root juice. Oh gosh, simple to eat at school and boring? What?!
Dinner for evening school:
Firstly this was suposed to be a ordinary tortilla but when I microwaved one wrap I wait too long and It became chipsy. And why not? I roasted vegetable from fridge and asian mix from freezer on sesame oil, put it into container of chocolate cream (Nutella). And Let´s go! This is how failure leads to new innovation.
Late "snack" : Caro drink (grain coffee substitute) and warm milk =)
Thursday:
Great great preworkout breakfast: sweet potato pancakes (one egg, one sweet potato, 3tbs of hemp flour). Packed with sliced banana, one tablespoon of my new love (yes, I got from my friend who just arrived from Canada the best gift. Who´s got american peanut butter, who? who!) and some musli and dried cranberries. BEAST MODE!
More and more proteins! Scitec - Chocolate and hazelnut.
And the very last lunch in Brno. Mix everything what left (salmon, sweet potatoe, veggies and seasoning) and roast in pan. Fill the red pepper and bake in oven until the pepper is well done. And as a dessert: left cottage cheese, dried fruits, coconut flakes and nuts.
And that´s It. Everything what should be eaten was eaten and everything what can wait just wait in pantry for a next magical week.
So? Wasn´t It various? Wasn´t It easy? Wasn´t It healthy? Screw your excuses and start to truly think eat!
