Shells Are Clothes

So, shells in the Mario world are not necessarily biological but more like a type of clothing and possibly power up with variations of a single shell.

While not everyone remembers this but Koopas quite often could be kicked out of shells and run around without one Super Mario Bros. 4 Super Mario World, Super Mario 3D Land, Super Mario 64, etc. Even in the original Mario Bros. the Shell Creepers exit their shells to flip it. In Paper Mario 64 the Koopas of Koopa Village have their shells stolen by Fuzzies, one Koopa mentions their shell is custom made, this shows them to be something that can be ordered and worn.

This is further shown with characters like Bowser in the RPG games switching out shells, and Mario using the Blue Shell power up. Mario uses a Blue Shell Power up and block in NSMBDS and M&LBIS. There is also the Lazy Shell from SMRPG.

Not to mention Mario and Friends in Super Mario 3D World can enter empty Koopa shells.

They also seem to serve as power ups themselves Bowser gaining abilities from different shells, certain shells in SMB4SMW being able to chase Mario down when piloted by a Kamikaze Koopa, or even how when a Yoshi eats the SMW shells he can spit fire or grow wings.

We also see Blue Electrokoopas remove their shells and send it flying at Mario as a form of attack.

The shells are probably made by a company that is connected to the Strike Equipment from Mario Kart who Mario Red, Green, Bowser, and Spiny shells for kart races.

We also see shells being worn by non Koopa creatures as well that don't normally need shells like Goombas, Konkadors, and Ant Troopers. Yoshis themselves could be a Koopa as mentioned in a previous post, and like Koopas they are born without their shells.

Some shells might even be extra heavy causing Koopas to go on all 4.

was reading the first part of your "the other thing about hiking accidents" post and thinking "haha yeah, like that time my sibling and I accidentally did a hike that was fully snow-covered all the way up and down the mountain with so little experience and none of the things we would have needed if something went wrong, though at least we weren't foolish enough to do it on a mountain more than like a quarter of the elevation of mount hood" and then I got to the second half of the post and started laughing out loud because our ill-advised hike was literally in the white mountains this past april. luckily the trail wasn't icy even at the top and was close to a big info center, and we had substantially better weather than you did! look up your hikes yourself kids, and don't assume that the person in the ski shop where you stopped for coffee will take into account that you're a dumbass from the midatlantic when giving you recommendations for a "short hike" 😂

in Complete fairness, the lower white mountains aren't Super deadly -- it's typically once you hit the alpine tundra that conditions can get Very Dangerous. i'm guessing you didn't do one of the 4,000+ footers if it was called a quick hike.

and also, i DID eventually get to go up to the white mountains during that trip in april -- we just had to check for favorable weather before we left. so possibly we were up there at around the same time!

but yeah, i've found that hikers from new hampshire tend to have a difficulty baseline that's.... different from the average vacationer's. for ANYONE hiking in the white mountains, i 100% recommend looking up reviews of the trail on alltrails before you go. bc they can be Telling.

if the one-stars all start with "it's flooded with running white water" or "we didn't know about the vertical rock climbs" then..... well. assess your readiness with caution 😭😭😭

This is actually fucking insane. I want this to be fake so bad because I cant comprehend a living and breathing person saying this

I'm not even kidding when I say this is pure and genuinely evil. Those writers, the backbone of the entertainment industry? They see them as disposable. They have to know it's not just rent money for apartments or housing the writers are losing, right?

Utilities, clothing, food, water. Any sort of fucking medical injury that their insurance can't cover if they have any. They won't be able to pay because these executives can't give them the proper percentage they deserve

They have to know this is essentially killing them, because based off of this quote, they know that they are losing money for their housing, and they are completely fine with it coming to that, because they want to break those writers to come crawling back to them, allowing those studios to have the upper hand in the deal

Look I'm not any type of writer, I haven't kept up fully with the strike, just that it's been going strong. But I think even if you showed the most clueless person that isn't online most of the time and you'd showed them this qoute, they would have to agree that this. This is genuinely awful.

Welding is so sick, can i ask how you got trained and how long it took?

I’m actually still in training!

So the thing is that after three years of making very little progress getting a degree I wasn’t sure I wanted I said fuck it and dropped out of university and used the last of my education savings to apply to a program at a nearby college. It turns out if you want to learn a trade you can just do that.

Admittedly I don’t have like a broad base of knowledge to help advise you from because I did this on a whim and also I am in Canada so things might work different where you are, but the program I’m in is seven months, covers the basics of oxyfuel, stick, wire feed and even a week of tig welding as well as a variety of other occupational skills, and ends with an exam that earns you your logbook, which follows you throughout your apprenticeship and your career as a welder. It basically sets you up to be in a position to get an apprenticeship and there are B and A level courses that provide further training and certification once you have enough workplace hours.

But what I cannot stress enough is that I did just very much look up trades programs in my area and apply to an entry level course with zero knowledge or experience with welding and now I can do basic stick welding in all four positions so like. Look into trade schools nearby and you might just find an entirely new life path you can take you never know.
