thinking. streliven. could strelitzia's nickname for ventus be 'poppy'. because. layer of dark symbolism, yeah, but also vibrant little flower, technically a weed to fit with the dandelion stuff, and of course, sleep.

I was genuinely about to throw Ven/Strel at you because I saw you threw them at Blaze, but thankfully thought to look for a bingo reblog. I see nothing and I am sad.

But I have a lot of thoughts about them and was not expecting to see them mentioned in the wild

Not to worry! I've actually done a ship bingo for them here! BUT I'll use the other Ship Opinion Bingo I saw Blaze use lol

OK SO. First off my absolute favorite way to ship these two is honestly in AU formats, just because it's so so fun to imagine them in different scenarios to the canon KH ones and also because it's kinda *hard* to ship them in canon KH because. Well. Strelitzia's.... current state of being.

But at it's core Streliven is like. Equal parts tragic and funny to me. I know considering what's happened in canon it really SHOULD be more tragic but I'm all about making the stupidest ships imaginable. Obsessed with Strel and Ven meeting post kh4 and both going "ok so I know our pasts were kinda Fucked Up but damn... honestly.... you're kinda cute you wanna go out for ice cream later" and making things work out meanwhile Lauriam is in the background tearing his hair out. IDK something so funny about them going from, like, not knowing how to address their past to the two of them instantly wanting to kiss each other. Because that's totally a healthy and normal way to cope for sure, totally fine and good and dandy /sarcasm .

On a more serious note. Despite the tragedy that comes with this ship. These two would just be SO sugar sweet together, wouldn't they?? The appeal here is similar to Ven/Nami, because we know Ventus would be such a little gentleman to someone so shy and sweet as Strelitzia, but there's also the juicy backstory. I've admittedly roleplayed two separate scenarios (one shippy, one not) where post KH3 Ventus has met an amnesiac Strelitzia and it's always the sweetest thing. In the shippy scenario he took her to a fair first thing, won her some prizes and even did a cheesy pretend knight act with a plastic sword and promised to protect her. IDK, I just see Ventus as being playful enough to break Strel's shell a little.

Then ofc there's more AU scenerios. Maaan there's been a few Strel/Ven AUs I've read/written for but most of them are just. In my head. But there's always this level of like, misfortune bringing them together. I like that. For me, Streliven is a sweet ship, but it's got a layer of like, "something's not quite right" here. Forbidden love, or met through a terrible circumstance. Thennnnn there's a few more situations I've imagined for them, like the idea of them (in a post KH4 world or something) learning about their connection and being forbidden from meeting, yet kinda coming together regardless. Ventus feeling so guilty about everything that he's willing to do anything for Strelitzia/feels indebted to her, meanwhile Strelitzia just HATING that Ventus feels that responsibility (being a bit creeped out by it, too, probably) and maybe one thing leads to another and they both break down a little and that leads to the two of them having to heal with each other. They suddenly open up to each other, and because they've felt so much pressure to heal on their own, they just become a mess and have to figure things out. It's definitely not the best way to go about things, but who knows?

Maybe one day they'll feel safe enough to be friends.

Streliven (Strelitzia/Ventus) TBH I typed up a WHOLE THING but AHHH i accidentally deleted it so. Streliven post take two. Starting off with! General opinion: in truth it's not much of an OTP, more of a ship I go "awww I like it!" at. BUT I do have many thoughts about them and I know that a few of my above Bingo spots need a bit of explanation LOL (Imagining this as a post kh4 scenario:) I know 'friends-with-benefits vibes' usually implies something more sensual but it was kinda the closest thing to 'queerplatonic' i could really reason here? I feel like Ventus and Strelitzia as like, less of an 'official' couple and just really good friends that can kiss and cuddle is kinda appealing to me! I can kinda imagine them having little crushes on each other/maybe exploring their romantic preferences together. as for 'it's more funny than romantic tbh', oh boy. I know Streliven is Angst Central, like there is NO way to go about shipping them without addressing The Trauma. but there is something very funny to me about the idea that despite EVERYTHING that happened to them, them just looking at each other and going "OH they're kinda cute tho...." Plus. I always go back to that theory that the Nobody Marluxia fights with at the end of CoM is actually Strelitzia's Nobody. And imagining Ventus holding her hand while she's in that form is so funny to me. In general I think they're cute, I love the fluff. Of course, there's that layer of tragedy to them (I can kinda imagine them as Orpheus and Eurydice...) that gives it Spice, you know? But also, it's really fun to think about how there'd probably be a lot of pressure on them from others to be separated from one another. I bet Lauriam will be watching Ventus like a hawk, and Terra and Aqua know Ven's been through enough pain and want him to keep some distance between the girl he watched die in front of him. But the idea of Strelitzia taking matters into her own hands, and deciding to offer Ventus forgiveness and understanding, while kinda learning from her experiences with Player that she should talk to Ventus sooner rather than later to give him her real feelings... meanwhile Ventus just falling head over heels for her despite the circumstances, and wanting to leave his best impression on her, while also dealing with the guilt he feels for being present during her death... it's Good.

ok yeah so the nature of ventus/strelitzia at it’s core is driven by angst, possession, murder, betrayal, and forgiveness but what if post kh4 ventus and strelitzia were just so “oh shit, you grew up HOT” to each other that they just forget about the whole murder thing and make out immediately. what then.

ok so in the past i’ve like. daydreamed about a strel and ven roleswap and to make it more fun i also swap lauriam and brain’s fates. brain gets to be all evil in the org and stage a coup in castle oblivion while lauriam. gets to be Eraqus’ grandpa. at first i played around with it just because pastel pink eraqus was fun to me. but suddenly realizing that. with the ven and strel roleswap. Eraqus would have to try and kill Strelitzia. who. unknown to him. is actually his Great Aunt in this au because. bloodlines.

then i got hit with the realization that ven and sora would be roomies in KH4. i really have to draw this some day
