Pardon my extremely messy home bench, too many projects that are halfway done. Solid bookmatched cocobolo body, one piece rosewood neck, Bareknuckle "The Boss" pickups, and brass saddles. I opted for two Tele-style neck pickups because I always hated the look of a 3 pickup tele with a big fat Strat middle pickup just crammed in there. I always thought that totally ruined the Tele vibe. I added the wiring diagram because on my Strelecasters, I like to have the middle position of the 5 way switch give you the neck and bridge pickup together (like a Telecaster) instead of the middle pickup by itself because I almost never use that pickup on its own. I know you can't tell from the picture but the headstock is that of a Telecaster as well to complete the mixed vibe. I designed this guitar specifically to be the love child of the rosewood Telecaster Fender made for George Harrison and the rosewood Stratocaster they built for Jimi Hendrix (that he died before receiving). Ever since I saw John Mayer playing a similar solid rosewood Strat with Leon Russell, I've had a nonstop fascination with the original for Jimi, which kind of sparked the idea in the first place. The only reason I wound up using cocobolo instead of rosewood (much to my dismay, believe me) is because it was so damn hard to find a big enough piece. I had gotten my hands on a bookmatched piece of rosewood that I thought would work, but by the time I received it from my supplier it had warped so badly that by the time I planed it down, it wouldn't have been thick enough. I stumbled upon the piece of cocobolo completely by accident a couple of months later and decided to go for it. I will get much better pictures and maybe some audio clips in the near future. This monster is exactly as heavy as you'd think, easily more than 20 pounds, so you almost HAVE to play it sitting down. It sounds extremely dark and mids-heavy for a Tele, even in the typically bright and twangy bridge position. It's very unique and it's one of my proudest builds to date, although I have some ideas I'm working on that might soon come close to as cool as this is.

Exciting news

Very excited to post some pics later on of my handbuilt solidbody book matched cocobolo Strelecaster, fitted with Bareknuckle pickups and a custom 5 way wiring I'll also post a diagram for for anybody who loves 3 single coil layouts but doesn't use their middle pickup on it's own.
