How much do pro skaters make?

Skateboarders are slowly taking over and making skateboarding one of the most popular action sports in the world. Tricks are becoming more technical and the internet has made it easier to spread the word. These days pro skateboarders are backed by several companies and some skaters may even have the opportunity to compete in competitions( like Street League or X Games), get featured in video games, get pro models, do magazine photo shoots, the list goes on. Pro skateboarders get paid just like any other job and work just as hard, although pro skaters get several perks. Sponsors means free stuff every month: skateboards, trucks, wheels, griptape, bearings, hardware, clothing, drinks, etc. Professional skateboarders not only get awesome care packages in the mail, they also get paid to skate!

Answer: Pro skaters’ salary varies; it just depends on the skater.  An average professional skater’s salary is about $2,000 a month. Some skateboarders may make much more if they get endorsements or other deals. A few good examples are: Tony Hawk, Ryan Sheckler, Shaun White, Rob Dyrdek, Eric Koston, Nyjah Huston, Sean Malto, Bam Margera or any other popular pro skater.

Going pro is a difficult process, but if you stay dedicated and give it your absolute best anything is possible! Although most pros aren't millionaires, doing what you love to do and getting paid to do it is a gift. Most pro skaters are treated just like celebrities in the skate world and get all kinds of perks, that being said … not a bad career choice if you ask me.
