[CN] 4th Anniversary– “Love Around The City” with Victor (Part 4)
“I hope we can come to buy magnolia flowers together, forever.”
⌚Warning⌚ This post contains detailed spoilers for contents that are yet to be released in the global server! ♡
🚌 Previous Station: Meetery Eatery
Tumblr media
Today’s Station: Westmoon Street
Located in the west of Loveland City, Westmoon Street has a wide expanse of ancient buildings. The quaint architecture and refreshing natural scenery are extraordinary, and are worth visiting.
Tourists weave around Westmoon Street, and many foreign visitors have come to Westmoon Street to search for its traditional specialty– scented sachets.
The unique fragrance from scented sachets can effectively alleviate the stress that many modern people face. However, the types of perfume will vary from person to person. A few friends have asked us to buy scented sachets for them, but I’m not sure which perfume will suit each of them best.
I heard that the people in Westmoon District are perfume masters, so why not seek guidance from them?
┈┈ ◍♡◍ ┈┈┈ ◍♡◍ ┈┈
[NOTE]: I will be adding details for the locations, but will be summarizing the tips for the tasks, cause I’m short on time :’(
✧ [Location 1: Westmoon Film Town] ✧
Tumblr media
This is one of the most popular filming sites in the film industry. This place has witnessed the rise of several budding stars, along with countless dreams and stories.
[Task Management Tips]: A forum has recently revealed the essential oil most commonly used by the female celebrities. Although this could be merely a rumor, but the essential oil might contain the ingredients of the perfumes, go find out.
[IDLE CHAT]
MC: Victor, what are you smiling at?
Victor: Seeing these tourists in costumes, reminds me of the murder screenplay that I had played with a certain someone.
[Note]: Victor is referring to “Late Night Date” :>
Victor: Regardless of the script, you actually looked pretty good in costume.
MC: In that case, when do you wanna play another time?
Victor: ....we’ll talk about that later.
[TASK]
Tumblr media
MC: This guy, Zhou Wei, told me that he had some new explosive news, causing me to run all the way over here. But it’s just the recent news of female celebrities of Film Town liking the essential oils?
Victor: Didn’t you buy many of the similar celebrity products like this during the previous shopping season?
MC: That’s different. I didn’t come here to do shopping....
Tumblr media
MC: But this essential oil seems to be really effective for relieving stress and calming the nerves.... Victor, do you want to buy some too?
Tumblr media
Victor: No need. A certain someone’s recent proposal was very well written. I’m very relieved.
┈┈ ◍♡◍ ┈┈┈ ◍♡◍ ┈┈
✧ [Location 2: Catalpa Alley] ✧
Tumblr media
Catalpa Alley is flanked by Chinese catalpa trees. Catalpa trees are the king of trees, and is a perfect symbolism for this street.
[Task Management Tips]: There are many shops here which sell perfumes for many years, even the perfumes in the other part of the city are wholesaled from here. You can learn a lot about the perfumes here.
[IDLE CHAT]
Victor: The scenery along the way is actually pretty nice.
MC: After all, it’s a key investment project of the city government.
MC: On the contrary, I’m more curious as to why LFG hasn’t invested.
Victor: This operation doesn’t entirely fit the purposes.
Victor: It’s rather quality than quantity that counts.
[TASK]
MC: I didn’t expect that the senior citizens would also have so formidable purchasing power....
Victor: Purchasing power has no connection with age.
Tumblr media
MC: Let’s buy some too. You’re always going on business trips at the end of the year and your immunity power is prone to be weakened by all the traveling.
Victor: Then we might as well buy a little more.
Tumblr media
Victor: After all, there’s also a dummy by my side who has already sneezed three times and hasn’t even realized it.
┈┈ ◍♡◍ ┈┈┈ ◍♡◍ ┈┈
✧ [Location 3: Yao’s Soup Dumplings] ✧
Tumblr media
This is a dumpling shop with a long history. Established by a person with the surname Yao, the chefs throughout the generations have the surname Yao. If you wish to eat the most authentic soup dumplings, why not join the queue during your afternoon break.
[Task Management Tips]: Along with the classics, the owner now has introduced some challenging dumpling fillings too. Try finding inspiration while waiting in the long queue.
[IDLE CHAT]
MC: I’ll always be fond of the soup dumplings here!
Victor: Why don’t I see you praising Souvenir’s soup dumplings so much?
MC: If Souvenir’s food is also included in the scoring system, then other foods won’t even stand a chance!
MC: So in all of my scoring systems, the gourmet dishes of this restaurant aren’t counted.
Victor: Sophistry.
[TASK]
Tumblr media
MC: Victor, have you ever had dumplings stuffed with fennels?
Victor: I’ve eaten before.
Victor: In my childhood, my grandmother would buy it for me for breakfast when she sent me to school.
Tumblr media
MC: Speaking of which, I don’t seem to have seen how you’d look like holding a big soup dumpling and eating it.
Tumblr media
Victor: A certain dummy’s curiosity is forever abundant.... let’s go.
Victor: We’re having soup dumplings for lunch today.
┈┈ ◍♡◍ ┈┈┈ ◍♡◍ ┈┈
✧ [Location 4: Spring Stream Teahouse] ✧
Tumblr media
Order a pot of warm tea, invite a handful of close friends, and you can admire the bamboo scenery while chatting to your heart’s content in the Spring Stream Teahouse.
[Task Management Tips]: Even though the teahouse has a long history, it has recently introduced new styles of tea to keep up with the youths. Find inspiration from here.
[IDLE CHAT]
MC: Every time I visit Spring Stream Teahouse, I keep thinking long and hard about what tea and dim sum to order along the way.
Victor: You still have time, you can keep thinking.
Victor: But, the contents of your orders don’t seem to be much different every time?
MC: After all, if you have a moment of inattentiveness, you will just give up thinking, and simply choose the best one you’ve had before....
Victor: ....better let me do it.
[TASK]
MC: The owner of the teahouse distributed a promotional flyer, half price for the smash-hit rose tea.... rose tea again ehh.
Tumblr media
Victor: Why are you making a difficult face?
Victor: Didn’t you use to like floral tea very much before? You even filled my tea caddy with all kinds of dried flowers.
Tumblr media
MC: The company refreshments have been all about rose tea lately, and I kind of miss the other rose foods now.
Victor: ....say directly what you want to eat.
Tumblr media
MC: Rose cake and rose pudding!
✧ [Mini Story] ✧
Tumblr media
Storyteller: Legend has it that in a certain dynasty and in a certain era, there was a supremely honorable and righteous, female knight-errant who used to rob the rich to help the poor....
Tumblr media
MC: It was actually my dream from childhood to be a righteous knight-errant who would rob the rich to help the poor too.....
Before I can finish my muttering, Victor blocks out the rest of my words with a chestnut.
Tumblr media
Victor: Focus.
We were originally just passing by the Spring Stream Teahouse, when we just happened to come across a person telling a story here. We didn’t have much to do, that’s why we casually started listening to the story, but I didn’t expect to be drawn into it so quickly.
The others around us also listen with rapt attention, even applaud in unison when the story reaches its climax.
Just as the storyteller reaches the crux of the confrontation between the “Emperor” and the “Female Knight-errant”, he suddenly snaps back to attention and comes to a halt spontaneously.
Storyteller: If you want to know what happens next, listen to the next part for the reveal.
The story comes to an end. Everyone is still reluctant to leave, discussing the plot inside.
Tumblr media
MC: Victor, what would you do if you were the Emperor?
Tumblr media
Victor: I’d leave it to the female knight-errant to make her own decision.
Victor: And what if you were the female knight-errant?
Tumblr media
MC: I’d.... I will abduct the Emperor of course, so that he can accompany me to the end of the world!
Tumblr media
Victor: [softly] ....the idea of a dummy indeed.
┈┈ ◍♡◍ ┈┈┈ ◍♡◍ ┈┈
✧ [Location 5: Ling Long Pavilion] ✧
Tumblr media
This quaint place stores many delicate, petite and precious items. The employee is wearing a traditional Han Chinese dress. Stepping into this place truly gives one a sense of stepping into a shop during the ancient times.
[Task Management Tips]: This place has crossed many dynasties and is a place antique lovers often visit. Study the items here to see if you can find important clues.
[IDLE CHAT]
Victor: Are you sure you want this hairpin?
Victor: I seem to recall that you’re not very good at wearing your hair up?
MC: No worries, I’ve already found some tutorials.
Victor: In that case, a certain someone seems fully confident that she can learn.
MC: After all, between the two of us, so long as one is able to learn, that’s good!
[TASK]
MC: Huh? There’s an empty bottle of rosemary essential oil here.
Victor: Rosemary can refresh your mind and can relieve stress as well.
MC: The smell inside is a bit familiar....
Tumblr media
MC: Ahh, it’s the incense in your car.
Victor: Your nose is very good.
Tumblr media
MC: So, no matter how early in the morning I see you, this is the secret to you always being full of vigor?
Tumblr media
Victor: Nope.
Victor: The person sitting in the front passenger seat, she is my secret.
✧ [Epilogue] ✧
Tumblr media
After concocting the perfect scented sachet with great difficulty, I can’t help continuously stroking it with admiration and smelling it.
Tumblr media
Victor: Why do you like it so much?
Tumblr media
MC: Things prepared with your own hands are always particularly special!
While I’m talking, I put the scented sachet into Victor’s palm.
MC: The previous clues said that roses and cedars have refreshing effect and they can relieve one from stress. So you can take it out and smell it when you’re working!
Tumblr media
Victor: I must remind you that my office drawers are already full.
Tumblr media
MC: Then the next time I come over, I will help you in sorting them out.....
Before I’ve finished speaking, Victor’s eyes suddenly cross over me, and look behind me.
Tumblr media
Victor: Mr. Mills?
Turning my head, I find Mr. Mills looking straight at the two of us with a beaming smile on his face, and feel a little astonished.
MC: [to Mr. Mills] What brings you to Westmoon Street? You also wouldn’t be here to participate....
Mr. Mills: I’m an old man. I don’t have such vigorous energy like you young people have.
Mr. Mills waves his hand to and fro, motioning me to a cluster of magnolia flowers in his hand.
Mr. Mills: I’m here to buy flowers for my wife.
Mr. Mills: She likes to add a magnolia flower in her hairpin with her dress in winter, saying that the smell can refresh one’s mind and can relieve stress. My legs and feet are idle anyway, so I do this for her every day!
Tumblr media
Victor: [laughs softly] Say hello to Mrs. Mills on behalf of me and her.
Tumblr media
After saying goodbye to Mr. Mills, I hook my arm with Victor’s, and ask him with my head titled.
Tumblr media
MC: When I’m old, will you come and run errands for me to buy magnolia flowers?
Victor smiles, pulling me towards the magnolia stand.
Tumblr media
Victor: [SO SOFT] We can buy them right now.

How to repair an underground water pipe
Tumblr media
Locate the leak
Once you know the general area of the leak, you need to determine its exact location. One way to do this is to lay a line of sight from your home's street-side water meter to the point where the water enters your home. Drive a stake near the water meter and another stake near the point where drinking water enters your house. Run a taut string or thread from stake to stake.
Turn off the water to the house and to the street
Locate the water shut-off valve for your house and shut it off. Open the metal box of the water meter. Locate the valve next to the meter, on the house side of the meter (not the street side). Carefully turn it clockwise. Preferably, use a special tool to shut off water and gas. If you don't have one, you can put an adjustable wrench over the valve and turn the wrench with a screwdriver inserted into the back of the wrench.
Dig the trench
Spread out the tarp next to the suspected location of the leak. Your string or twine should indicate one axis; the heaviest concentration of water in the soil should be the second axis. Remove the string. Place the sod and dirt on the tarp. If you want to reuse the sod, carefully cut it out with a spade and place it to the side in a separate area. Unlike sewer lines, which can run several feet below ground level, water lines are usually located just below the frost line in your area: 30 to 90 cm below ground level.
Drain water from the trench
Scoop the water out of the trench with a bucket. Finally, vacuum up the remaining water with a shop vac in wet mode.
Repair the water line
Depending on the age of your home and subsequent changes, your underground water line may be copper, PVC, galvanized steel, CPVC or PEX. Replace the pipe with similar materials. Typically, this pipe is 2.5 cm in diameter. Most regulations require that an underground water line be at least 2 cm in diameter and that it be separated from sewer or drain lines by at least 150 cm of undisturbed or compacted soil.
Test the repair
Turn on the water at the meter by turning the nut counterclockwise. It is not yet necessary to turn on the water in the house. Pressure test your repair to make sure it is safe. If you allow the work to be done, leave the trench open until inspection.

Akhirnya #instameetsamarinda2019 terwujud juga. Sempat ngiri sama kota2 lain yg sering banget kayaknya ngadain #instameet trus flashback ke beberapa tahun kebelakang, main instagram bisa seseru itu, sering sharing, sering hunting bareng2, pokoknya asik lah hahaha. . Awalnya sempat bingung nyari lokasi yg pas, sempat cari lokasi kemana2, ada yg perlu izin ribet, ada yg berbayar. . Iseng2 duduk di susu kedelai pelabuhan eh muncul ide deh buat jadiin kawasan kota tua nya Samarinda di jalan Yos Soedarso sebagai tempat instameet, meskipun endingnya sempat diomelin sama satpam hahaha. .

UDAHAN YUK? • Nggak cape bertikai terus? Nggak cape ketika beda pendapat trus emosinya di kedepanin? Nggak cape bermusuhan karena beda pilihan? • Udahan yuk, sekarang damai lagi, saling rangkul lagi.

BUKAN DANAU ALAMI!
