#so the drama is :#artist reproduces picture of mr j and kofu as a painting. artist who's apparently renowned enough to be in museums #artist is found to Do This A Lot as in taking existing pictures of cats and replicating them #straycatj comments saying that he should not call himself an artist because there's no originality in just copying an existing picture #someone kindly explains that there may be a difference in how japanese and US cultures view art #as in in japan originality & creativity > skill level and the opposite in the US #so in the US reproducing something would still be art because it takes skills to be able to do it so accurately #The Rest Of Y'all are all like OMG HOW DARE YOU WHAT THE HELL THAT'S SO MEAN I'VE LOST RESPECT FOR YOU #and like. that's a prime example of how online culture makes people forget THEY NEED TO TALK TO OTHER PEOPLE IN A NICE FUCKING WAY #straycatj has One thought that's. again.
