best special interest I ever had was baseball tbh. It got me outside. It got me spending more time with my family. It won over multiple nice old guy teachers of mine whom I otherwise would have had nothing in common with. best of all, you could talk to just about anyone about it and they wouldn't think it was weird.

#strangers when I tell them about my favorite video game character: 😴#strangers when i talk to them about the Sox game and how well Papelbon pitched and how many RBIs Big Papi brought in last night: 🙂👍#ugh i miss that era so much #after the '04 World Series when the Red Sox broke the curse there was such renewed interest in baseball #they used to show the games in the local theater! and they'd have people walking around selling peanuts and merch lol #it was so much fun #sadly those days are long gone...but i still yearn for them...
