Somebody write a fic where Eddie doesn’t manage to jump into the water fast enough, gets caught by the police and winds up at the station until everyone and their mother (Dustin, Max, Lucas, and Steve) talk so heavily about Eddie being innocent that Chief Powell has no choice but to let him go. They then defeat the Upside Down-y like they do every fucking season and the found family officially excepts Eddie as their dad. Bonus points if the kids “force” Eddie and Steve into a date.
