Hey I came across your posts about strabismus and it felt like I was being understood for the first time in over 10 years

You haven’t mentioned much these past few months, but I hope you’ve found something that works for you! I just got surgery, and I teared up after I woke up. I wish strabismus was more talked about because it’s just such a lonely experience.

I'm glad the posts were able to help you feel less alone! I have new glasses now with the prisms built-in, which is helping a lot compared to the fresnel stick-on. I'll probably acclimatize to them eventually though, and with 12 prism diopters in each lens for 24 total I'm not sure how much more room there is, so I'm still on the waiting list to talk to a surgeon. That could be a while, as an adult, with my province's healthcare waiting times, so there hasn't been much to talk about recently.

I do wish there was more knowledge about what strabisumus is and what it can look like. I think if there was, I might have been able to get treatment for it when I was a kid, and it was still intermittent. Of course, when I was a kid my eye doctors still thought underprescibing would help my myopia, so maybe not. But I agree it can feel very lonely!
