I recommend this on every level a story can be told at. The interweaving of multiple character’s threads, the second person perspective (fuck? a lot of pros do second person horribly) that flips gently to first person right at the end, the unique voice, the concise length, the fascinating worldbuilding, and the details deliberately left out. 

May I also draw your attention to the fact that this fill has a very loose definition of capitalization. The phrasing is distinct, choppy and complete sentences are not required. There’s a loose relationship to structure and grammar, but every bit of it is understandable and, in a lot of ways, very visceral in a way that fully structured prose is not. As a style, it’s messy, but feels very immediate. 

BUT, MY POINT--and the reason I wanted this as it’s own post and not like, added to the post itself to take away from the story--is that writing book or a short story is about story first. This, however nonconforming the style, is a properly told story. Whatever you’re writing, however you’re writing it, your goal is to be evocative within the medium. Focus on that first. How are you spinning your yarn for us, unfolding the story so that everything we learn is learned at just the right time (or not at all)?

My bald teacher

I have this teacher that loves telling us how ignorant we are and booooy, idontknow, that's why i'm in college.

Anyways, I have brown blue (kinda purpleish) curly hair and he. Loves. It.

Every single lesson he tells me he's jealows because of my hair (he has none hehe) and idontknow its kinda creepy. 😂🤦

So I was doing this thing called work(slavery if you ask me) and one of my coworker was telling one of my friends a story about me . Of course I love when people have nice things about me or even analyze me(I'm full of layers and personality it can be tough) . He told a story about asking me a question if I could be anyone for a week, who'd it be? I said "It'd be myself. Idgaf" Apparently everyone wanted to be someone rich or beautiful(or handsome) (which isn't a bad thing to wish for) I was filled with so much happiness and it legit made my night so much more better. Not because It was something cool to remember but it was inspiring for someone . For a moment, I felt like being me is pretty dope.

The Adept (2021) - I was pleased to be asked to contribute a cover to The Adept last year. The book about Amy, a Chinese-American girl whose past is shrouded in mystery and kickass kung fu abilities, who is trying to maintain a relationship with her sister, Ali, whilst trying to protect an international popstar. It's a great, fast-paced story with authentic Shaolin kung fu action that reminds me of those classic Shaw Brothers movies from way back when, and I can't wait to get into the second issue, which is now being funded on Kickstarter! . My “Date”

Okay marking friday, November 3rd, 2017.

I figured out just a little but ago that this upper classmen- (a senior to be exact, keep in mind im a young sophomore) likes me. even though he hasnt told me yet, it is obvious. We shared a class together, and my teacher told my class that we should go over the weeked on our own to this museum and see some cool thigs being displayed. I was like “Hell yeah im going” and other people were going too so some people were getting rides from others and stuff. Me and this guy had been talking for a week or two, and he asked jokingly to ask my mom if she would take him to this thing and weirdly she fucking said yes??!! I was just like okay then. So basically after this happening, my step mom picked him up, things were awkward, and yeah. She asked tons of questions and blah blah, and my younger brother was already making a friend and what not. Now my step mom didnt tell me, but apparently my grandparents and my dad were also coming along, and this random senior boy met my whole damn family in a fucking day. Its worse because i have a selfie with him and my family. Btw they didnt even know why he was here. My dad stared him down this whole time. And to make it even worse i dont even like this senior back. One of the worst but really funny nigts ever. Fml. This “just take him to be nice” turned into a meet my parents date guys.

Embrace your Bad Luck

Let me tell you something..

Akhir bulan ini saya tiba-tiba di “bentur” oleh beberapa teka teki hidup yang bikin ruwet bila di jabarkan. Bahkan tak tertampung di hati bila dirasakan.

Setelah perjalan kesana-kemari mencari ridho nafkah dari Illahi, saya pulang kerumah dengan kondisi tiba-tiba drop. Sakit. Nggak parah memang. Cuman flu.

“Tryin to be Influencer but I got Influenza” begitu mungkin kira-kira Headline nya hahaha #apasih

Okay, terus disuruh berobat ke dokter terdekat dengan kartu sakti itu, dan saya pun menurutinya.

But, after all long convos with the doctor, the doctor said “kamu jangan telat makan, ntar ulkusnya kena. Kalo di biarin ntar kena liver”

Yes. Of course I afraid. Riwayat punya papa kena liver makin buat saya meringis.

Lalu sama dokternya di kasih obat. But.. Yes, si kartu ajaib itu hanya “meng-afford” obat generik yang totalnya nggak sampe 20rebu ! Padahal ibu dah bilang “kasih obat yg bagus ya dok” Yelah.. Obat gini mah di apotek juga banyak.

I was disappointed for the medicine.

Mau saya buang, sayang. Tapi saya di kasih obat yang gak ada keluhannya di diri saya (semisal obat fever ? Padahal oe panas aja nggak. Kena batuk sama pilek doang -_-)

And ain’t got any clue abt what happened with my right stomach -_-

Anyway, yang lebih menyedihkan dari semuanya adalah laptop tetiba rusak. Bukan laptopnya, tapi harddisk (a.k.a otak) si laptop yang rusak. Data 5 tahun di harddisk udah kena Bad Sector semua dan itu lebih menyayat hati :(

In other part of my story now,

√ gue lagi sakit

√ jobless almost 3 months

√ my dearest laptop that accompany me almost 5 years *lamaan ini daripade pacaran juga* must be bedrest for so long time

√ all datas in past 5 years HARUS HANGUS cause of bad sectors :(

√ and I’m trying to embrace my bad luck.

The lesson of this story that I must take a rest for bit. Orang gila macam saya nih gak bisa diem. (Diem-diem kalo bensin *a.k.a duit* udamulai abis) hahaha Gila kerja. Gak bisa diem otak kanan dan otak kirinya, bahkan pada saat tidur sekalipun. Gila target. Gila purpose. I must removes all the unimportant thought and start with the clearer one. Embrace my imperfect life and start with the grateful thought. Dan mungkin inilah alasannya, Tuhan belum kasih saya kehidupan roller coaster lagi macem kemaren 😁
