I’m in love with your killudust fanarts but I’m a bit confused on where that ship stands in your ship list. What do you think about it? How long have you liked it?
One time, I think I must’ve seen you claiming that you started liking it more than killugon cuz you hated how twitter was being a major ass when it came to other types of ships that paired up Killua and Gon with other people.
So I’m curious: if you now like killudust more than killugon, are you gonna start making more killudust art? I’m just wondering about that cuz I thought about it so many times. It’s also okay if you’re not going to either. It’s whatever yk?
(hi! rereading my answer i noticed i come across as crass; so sorry if my tone reads as like i'm mad or upset or angry. talking about getting harassed just makes me feel exhausted).
i like killudust because it's funny and random and it makes me laugh.
ultimately when it comes to ships i like, if it can make me laugh, it shoots up into my top 3 favorites. my otps in any fandoms, the majority of the time, are crackships because i found them funny. my first crackship was gaz x GIR from invader zim when i was 8 or 9 (invader zim was also my first online fandom at around this time btw). i have ALWAYS loved crackships. i have ALWAYS loved silly pairings that made me laugh, whether they had canon basing or not (but them having no canon backing and being very random helped the funny-factor for me)
so as for where killudust stands on my ship list, it genuinely is my OTP for HxH (and in my top 3 for overall ships across all fandoms i am in). i used to REALLY love killugon because of all the silly scenarios one could make with them, because these two characters have such funny interactions!! i started being vocal about killua x gold dust girl in early-mid 2020, so that's a little over two years.
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
(note: i've talked about killudust on other servers i'm no longer in before these screenshots)
so i've considered killudust my #1 hxh ship for a little over two years, actually.
but unfortunately, romantic killugon has gotten pretty soured for me? i still love platonic/queerplatonic killugon don't get me wrong! but the way the fandom on twitter acts about ships that paired gon and killua with other people (and ESPECIALLY killua with female characters). like, being accused of heinous things and getting a bout of harassment SOLELY for being vocal about a crackship i liked and making silly drawings for it just absolutely severed any love i had for killugon in response. being called a homophobic pedophile (she's??? a card game character??? and it appears like she's within his age range if not a little bit older??? and even then i portray her as a fictional character he "waifus" and not an actual character. like???) and being called a proshipper (this word has been divorced of all meaning it literally means nothing anymore if ppl can just fling it at anyone who ships anything against the status-quo) for a non-problematic crackship just really killed any desire i had to make anymore content for killugon.
unfortunately hxh is no longer my hyperfixation, and hyperfixation is usually a big factor in fandom content i create. but sometimes i'll find a drive to create hxh content again (especially if my friends still into hxh manage to wrangle that inspiration and motivation out of me) and USUALLY i've noticed that motivation comes in the form of killudust. so the handful of times i've dipped my toes back into hxh after my hyperfixation ended was for killudust, so most likely if i were to make hxh content in the future again— it would probably be killudust. i'm a spiteful person by nature, so i'm definately not letting anything STOP me from making things i WANT to make. sometimes it even fuels me to make it even more when it's fresher.
but i hope this answers your questions! i appreciate that you've been paying attention to me, sometimes i just think i scream into a void where no one sees ahaha <3

⚠️⚠️SPOILER ALERT⚠️⚠️
⚠️⚠️🕷️Spiderman nwh question, so please beware spoilers if you haven't watched!!!🕷️⚠️⚠️
.
.
.
I asked you few months ago if you thought they were gonna bring the 3 Spideys together for nwh and honestly I'm so f*cking happy they did!!!!
Also, as an Andrew Spidey longtime fan I'm glad he's getting the love and recognition he deserves🤧❤️
I need to know your very detailed opinion on the movie!! Did you like it?or Did you find the plot holes a little too annoying like some ppl ? Who do you think gave the best performance or which was your favourite Spiderman?
Here was your Ask.  I was incredibly joyful when the 3 Spideys were on screen together and interacting, sharing their common pain and encouraging and validating each other; it helped MCU Peter’s bittersweet fate feel just a little less bitter.  Before I get to that, let’s start from the beginning.
Oy, the first hour....the plot holes!  The plot armors!  The plot devices!  So they’re telling me that the Spider man who fought Thanos is struggling with the Green Goblin?  The wizard who defeated Dormammu and almost beat Thanos couldn’t solve this?  Ned can create portals because...bloodline thingy?
Then Andrew Garfield arrived (cue the screaming fangirls and fanboys), and all flaws stopped.
Tumblr media
Sure the plot devices and armors and bullshit were still here, but the story changed and it got good.  And I loved it.
Andrew Garfield’s charisma, energy, and overall likeability was just what the movie needed to bring all 3 Spidermen to gel into chef’s kiss. And him being able to “redeem” himself by saving MJ the right way and showing multiple emotions was just great acting; almost as if he never stopped playing the role.
Tumblr media
Andrew undoubtedly and effectively stole the show.
Toby McGuire, I've always contend that he's played the best Spider Man because he succeeded in the real persona of Spider Man.  People often think superheroes two identities aka Bruce Wayne and Batman.  But they actually have three identities.  Batman is Bruce when he is a confident, Bruce is Batman when he is a scary figure, but both personas are fake, the true Bruce/Batman is the trouble man behind both masks, he is complicated and has ambiguous motivations who sometimes doubt his own actions (Ben Affleck reigns here).   Spider Man is Peter Parker when he is being judged and therefore behaves fearful to express himself, and Peter Parker is Spider Man when he is protected from society’s judgment, so he is relaxed and confident and behaves more freely, but both personas are fake.  Peter is haunted with guilt over his uncle’s death and consequently feels the responsibility his powers brings.  Tobey’s Peter chooses to stay away from Mary Jane because of Spider Man, he loses his friend Harry because of Spider Man, he fails in college because of Spider Man and he loses his job because of Spider Man.  But despite all that, in the end, Peter is still committed and why Spider Man 2 is the best Spider Man to this day.
Tumblr media
It was a huge treat to see Toby being able to play the seasoned, experienced, “older brother-type” Spider Man.  It fits him so well, and him saving Peter from killing Green Goblin was such a Spider Man thing to do.  Speaking of which,
Tumblr media
There is no denying that Green Goblin played by William Defoe shines the brightest amongst the villains, though Alfred Molina’s Otto Octavius was a bright beacon too. We see Goblin’s conflict, the reason due to which he neglects any help, and hearing his evil laughter after so many years will be a treat for nerds around the world.  The fact that Spider Man tried (and succeeded) to help save and cure each villain is pure Spider Man to me.  That showing of compassion to people who may seem “bad” can be exactly what brings them to the light.  Bitter Sam Winchester girls used to come at me all the time complaining about Sam being forced to work with his abusers and I explain that's what heroic protagonists are supposed to do; to with work with their worst enemy for the greater good, or reform their enemy.
I used to think Tom Holland failed the real persona of Spider Man in the first 2 movies, but in No Way Home now I understand that the first 2 movies are his Origin stories.  Previously I’ve complained that MCU Peter Parker did not have a big goal or ideal and seems to being more concerned about being an Avenger and impress Tony Stark than to truly help others. The whole responsibility of being a hero is never really explored and uncle Ben death does not really have a weight in his character.  Turns out there was never an uncle Ben in the first place, it was aunt May whose death is the turning point for Peter, haunted by her death and consequently feels the responsibility his powers bring.
Tumblr media
Peter hugging his counterparts showed how vulnerable, conflicted, and in pain he was.  In fact all three Peters shared their similar pain and was able to encourage and validate each other, something that perhaps the older Peters didn’t realize they needed as well.  I admit, I almost teared up.  Spider Man essentially ruined their lives but they remain committed to being Spider Man in order to help and save others.
Tumblr media
Those last 45 minutes were some of my favorite movie-going experiences of all time. Just the sheer joy of the 3 Spideys jumping out and swinging together while being serenaded by Michael Giacchino’s glorious score transported me back to a younger me when I was still an uber superhero fanboy looking forward to the first X-Men and Spider Man movies.
In the last ten minutes when we see Peter in his new apartment, completely alone in the world with no money and only a handmade Spider Man suit, it felt that Peter truly is Spider Man.  It was deeply affecting.  The fact that this movie ends on such a bittersweet moment, with the entire world forgetting who Peter Parker is, and Peter having to deal with the consequences of the spell, while still being able to smile and be a hero, is the essence of Spider Man and made the trilogy and the movie all the better.   For the first time I’m interested to see Tom’s future Spider Man movies.
My score: 9.8 out of 10.  .5-point deduction for the mediocre first half.  One half point returned for gorgeous second half.  One half point returned for nailing the landing.  One half point returned for fantastic fan servicing that actually served the story and for not being fan service for the sake of fan servicing.  This is probably the best use of fan service I’ve seen in most movies, especially Marvel’s.

Am I disappointed with the rewards? Yes. But it's only because this is the first anniversary of an IP of theirs that grew very, very popular very quickly, and I'm more-so disappointed in the fact that they really don't seem to be doing anything fun in-game for it. I'd rather get a cool event or anything that relates to the world at large (not necessarily the main story/Archon quests, but world building the little things!) in celebration. I'm a somewhat low spender and I do think that how MHY hands out rewards is very poor. So I can see why people are upset, but I am hoping they'll surprise us with some really neat things on the actual anniversary itself that no one knows about.
Moreover, a lot of people seem to be *REALLY* upset over the "community event" rewards, even though these are by far NOT the ONLY community events that MHY has released, and that these are pretty standard rewards for what are essentially raffles, going by what they've done in the past with them. I think the community events are not very fun for low reward (but I'm also not an artist) so I don't usually pay attention to them regardless, even now. Even ones that were simple like the Windblume one, I didn't pay attention to, simply because it was not worth the effort of even taking a photo.
But people are acting like THESE ARE THE ANNIVERSARY REWARDS and it's making me mad to no end. No matter how many times I and others have tried to explain to a few people, they just think these are the rewards themselves, then get upset and stop replying when I point out that these are not the only community events and ask them "Why now? Why are you mad about the community event rewards now and not the dozens of prior times?" and I think that's what's really making me mad.
I think the way Genshin fandom handles a lot of criticism is very "black and white". Either MHY is doing a fantastic job or they are dogshit and no one should play their games. I've talked about it before regarding other things here but I really am starting to see that the Genshin fandom selectively reads, and even when it does read some things, they misinterpret it, but then get wildly mad and abrasive when you try to correct them.
I really am glad to only interact with my few friends about Genshin because I do not think I could just talk to anyone about it.

sus zhongli anon you have a talent of putting my incoherent thoughts into actual words HAHAHA
i agree with the majority of what you said. i still urge ppl to focus less on the rewards and more on how each update brings us smth really cool already, but honestly, as a f2p, i do want primos too 😅
and i know this has come up a bunch of times but you're totally right that the the current announced rewards are only COMMUNITY EVENT rewards. the haters keep brainwashing me into forgetting that smh. and you're right that ppl were never this vocal about them before, even though they were always like this, which is very very dumb because... what's the point in only screaming about them now, when this is the, idk, 10th community event they've done lol or smth.
the genshin fandom, i think, tends toward the younger side, and children do tend to have a black and white view on the world. that's explainable, and they will eventually grow out of it (i hope), but along the same line, it's the older kids and especially the adults that continue to think in b&w that worry me. not only are they responsible for a lot of this mihoyo hate, they're also influencing younger kids who might not know any better to continue to think in b&w, but the world cannot be viewed fully in two simple colors.
but idk if there's a way around that other than putting a generally more-rounded worldview out there and hope that it changes at least one person's mind :")
