The thing is white men make very mediocre movies but so do white women so when white women go on about the all males nominees or like put down men of color who get nominated as like men are likely to get oscars than women it screams “i want to be put on the same pedestal as white men” rather than “i want women to stop being overlooked in these categories”. If white women want me to praise their movies they need to do better than the all white cast sidekick of color the n-th adaptations of period piece trying to convince me that it’s revolutionary when it’s not.
