I'll take "posts that Lily Orchard would write" for 500, Alex.
what is this "as someone who escaped the alt right pipeline" failpost I've seen so many people vague about
#where the fuck do you people think the alt right rise came from?#that's how right wing cults work by taking any feeling of oppression real or imagined and using it to convince you that you're the best#you aren't doing it any favors by actively reinforcing it#there's a reason right wing words their takes as “not all men” and “all lives matter”#they run on being the underdogs and the reaction#at least in their own heads#the motto of all cults is “your Problems are caused by The Other and we will help you defeat them”#The Problem and The Other can be anything so long as you think their in group holds the solution#that's how TERFs feed on victims of misogyny while also being the most misogynistic shitbags on Earth#that's how misogynoir exists#and how gay people and black people and women become right wing despite right wing hating all those things#you want men like this to stop end up becoming Nazis?#do sonething about the “men are all fat hairy ugly rapists” rhetoric#TERFs are a right wing cult but they built up by building upon the extremes of left wing discourse#nibbling at the cracks in people who weren’t as different from their oppressors as they wanted to believe#which is what the post is actually about if you'd actually read it#“hey I'm trying to stop being a part of horrible hate cult”#“this idiot isn't over his own biases yet! let's make a new post behind his back to mock him for being stupid!”#yeah even assuming you're 100% on the read here this is still a shit tier take#lily orchards. all of you.

Literally every time I tune in for a story update and think "there's no way I'll be taking emotional damage this week" and then I do.
First I really like the added context about what an Echo is, from Ikora:
Genocide. Thousands of civilisations across the universe, all visited by the Black Fleet. All lost to the violence of the final shape. That's where this Echo comes from. At least, that's our theory. Reports from the Pale Heart, readings on the Valence emanating from the Traveler... Everything we faced when we stared down the Witness and broke its fleet. At first, we didn't know what to call them. But Echoes seemed apt. Memories from the victims of the Pyramids, held by the Darkness... then coalesced by the Light into artifacts as sharp and fatal as their pain. If Darkness is memory, and Light is form... What else could they be? But... there's still so much we don't know. Is this the only one? What forgotten people gave form to this Echo? What was their final cry at their end? For control? A means to turn back their oppressors? My Hidden will keep searching for whatever answers the Witness' death can give us... hopefully they number more than the questions it left behind. But we need to stop the Conductor and secure the Echo. Guardian, descend into Nessus. Massive amounts of radiolaria has been diverted beneath the planet's crust. We need to find out what the Vex are building there.
I think it's fair to assume that the memory of the Qugu is what formed this Echo then. That's fascinating also because of what other species we might learn about in the next two episodes.
Psion mention:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Show us the Psions. What are they doing. Don't throw these hints at me, at the same time with Otzot and OXA hints.
And then the emotional damage??? First Saint on the holoprojector:
Tumblr media
Guardian. I hear that you are hard at work on Nessus, following the Echo and the Conductor. I know you do this in part for me, but... I do not know if I am worth the trouble. I was pulled through Nessus like a toy on a string. The Conductor's words still echo in my mind, "A copy of a copy of a copy." Osiris pushed through time to find his Saint-14. [sighs] He said he was careful, but... he reached blindly, and pulled out... only me. And no... I live a life tat does not belong to me. I am something left over from a broken timeline... a remainder. The Conductor whispered I should be thrown away... A solution as simple as, correcting an error. And maybe... that would- Ah! I-I do not know what to think anymore.
Saint. "Not worth the trouble"? Saint, I personally walked through the corridors of time to get you out. I had to see your dead body with my own two eyes. I need to tell him this. He has to know. Oh my god.
But also. Osiris did not reach blindly. I am jumping off a cliff! He spent so much time and effort trying to find the right one in the right moment. That was the whole point. But Saint doesn't know this because Osiris never told him exactly what he did. If they don't mention everything we've done in Dawn, I am just going to walk into traffic. This Saint knows that we saved him. That we gave him the shotgun. We saw him in several different moments of his life and he carried the shotgun through: this is important because he died with it originally. So we know it's the right one. That's the only reason the Sundial worked out even; because we're tied to Saint via a paradox.
And then the radio. WHAT is happening.
Osiris: You're only doing this to hurt yourself, and I will not be a part of it. Saint-14: Osiris. Answer the question. I need to know. Osiris: It doesn't matter! Not like this. Saint-14: It matters to me. Please. How did I first tell you that I loved you? Osiris: Saint... [sighs] You had asked me for something, some tactical report. I gave it to you, and you thanked me, and-and you said that you loved me. You said it as if you had, already said it a thousand times before. I was not ready to say it in return, but... it was not long until I was. Saint-14: That is not... I do not remember it this way. That is not what happened in my... my simulation. We were together in the Tower, overlooking the City. Talking about... something small. And I said what I felt in that moment. And my Osiris did not hesitate to say the same. Osiris: "Your Osiris?" Saint, you love me. It doesn't matter how or-or where that began. Not in such fine detail. Saint?
I reiterate. What is happening. We know that the story Osiris told is true because we got it as a lore tab. And we also know that we saved the right Saint. We didn't pick one randomly as he thinks, Osiris and the YW went to great lengths to do this. So what's going on. Did the Conductor mess him up? Saint has not, until now, exhibited any issues with memory and has never had different memories from Osiris or anyone else. What did she do to him when he was yoked? Did she use the power over Vex to mess with his memories? Implant memories the Vex might have in the network about him from other timelines? I'm losing it.
Speaking of the Conductor, we got a firm confirmation it's Maya in the lore tab from Polyphony. And it's MSund12 so that also tells us which Maya; one of the copies from the Vex Network. It also details stuff about her shock upon learning about the Collapse and all that was lost and how humanity never truly recovered. She thinks she can... "help" by using the Vex and simulations. This also links to the mysterious lore tabs on the exotic items from the season pass.
Anyway, I'm perishing.

☀︎NO DEMO YET☀︎ PLAYLIST ☀︎
☀︎SYNOPSIS☀︎
Your childhood friend has always dreamed of the big scene, of the crowd singing your lyrics, of a world tour. Max always wanted for your bands to succeed together. Until...
Well, it is was all a big stupid joke.
The real world caught up to you: you are no longer the naive child you once were. Writing a Grammy worthy album isn’t as easy as it seems and the big scene is nowhere to be seen. You navigate through life as you can, you party with your friends every Saturday and write music all week. You enjoy each one of your gigs – big and small. Your burning love for music doesn’t seem to fade. Your band brought together a solid community that crosses borders. You have fun with your band and it’s all that matter.
But you can’t help but fantasize that, someday, you’ll be at the top of the world…
Big stupid joke, right?
✮BATTLE OF THE BANDS IS BACK!✮
You thought 2020 was the end of us, uh?
You couldn’t be more wrong!
The worldwide known music contest is finally back!
We carefully chose the mentors of our beloved participants. This year will be all pink…
Make way for Pink Riot!!!
Application open to foreigners (check our website)
RATED +18
TW: explicit language, (occasional) violence, transphobia (one character is misgendered but just in one scene), use of alcohol and drugs, (soft) sexual content, parental abuse (flashback), depression, self-harm (warning will be in the "next" button), mention of suicide (same as self-harm)
☀︎FEATURES☀︎
– Customize your MC’s appearance and personality. You decide of their public image and persona.
– Your choices will define your band’s public image and popularity. Are they loved? Do they make underground or mainstream music? Are they the parents’ worst nightmare? The reference of rebellious kids?
– Decide your band’s aesthetic. Do they have one to begin with? Or do they each dress in their own style?
– Write your own lyrics!
– Engage in romantic affairs…
– ...or don’t, your choice!
– Are you going to help the people that cross your path or do you only care about yourself?
☀︎A BIT OF CONTEXT☀︎
Of course, this story is set on Earth.
But.
Racism, sexism, homophobia, transphobia, islamophobia, antisemitism and fatphobia will get you in court.
You are not very well seen if you do one of those things and, if you’re a celebrity/politician/public figure, it can (and will) ruin your career.
I know that this isn’t realistic at all but I need to believe that, one day, this will be real. My characters have and will go through enough trauma and bad moments, I want to give them some peace.
And it feels really good to make a world where those things will ruin the oppressor and not the oppressed.
☀︎ROs☀︎
THE HERMIT — Diesel Di Angelo (they/them)
Diesel is the soul of the band, they bring a sort of osmosis. Their calm energy somehow has a place on stage and is liked by everyone.
Diesel took their first steps in the music world with Max and MC. It was just the three of them before the band grew bigger. Diesel is a talented guitarist, they worked hard to get where they are and they don’t stop improving. They are quite reserved and don’t talk about their feelings… Who knows what lies beneath their shell?
THE MISCHIEVOUS DRUMMER — Roman Lupin (he/him)
If MC is the backbone of the band, Roman is its beating heart. He has no problem to make the public jump from the back of the stage. He’s a spark that will light a bonfire.
Roman learned to play drum from his mother. He went to the conservatory but he didn’t stuck with it. Since a young age, Roman wants to have a band and to perform all around the world. Roman is full of life and he’s the human version of a sunshine. Is there something behind that smile or is he genuinely happy?
THE LITTLE MERMAID — Isra Wafa (she/they)
Isra brings magic to the band. Her mermaid low voice is unique and enchants the public. If you think you’ve heard good bass players, just wait until you see Isra on stage.
When Isra was a child, their parents let them chose an instrument to learn and to their surprise, she chose the bass. They fell in love with this low instrument. They navigated from band to band before settling for this band her boyfriend was part of. Isra keeps ignoring their responsibilities toward her family. For how long can they pretend it doesn’t exist?
THE REBEL ANGEL — Archibald “Archie” de Beaumont (they/he)
Even with a classical training, Archie managed to switch to their band’s genre without too much troubles. All the members affirm it: Archie is a gift from the universe.
Archie popped out of nowhere to audition to be the band’s keyboardist. He was the most talented person they saw all day and the chemistry was very much here. The band doesn’t know much about Archie, but it doesn’t matter. They are a good person and a dear friend. It wouldn’t change anything to learn about their life before the band. Right?
THE MANAGER — Cal Bremont (he/him)
Cal works in the shadow to make the band shines under the spotlight of the biggest stages. The band claims it, he is the best manager you could hope for.
Cal takes his job very seriously, he has a perfect work ethic. Maybe he is a bit too close to his clients and they may not just be clients… But, well, no one is complaining. Cal is very secretive about his personal life, he never mentioned his family or anything else. Can he maintain his relationship with his friends and still keep his life a mystery?
THE RISING STAR — Max Larash (she/her or they/them)
Max moved their band to the other side of the world and they managed to impose themselves on the west coast scene. We’ll keep an eye on them as they’ll compete against their former friends…
Because of artistic divergences, Max decided to leave the band when Isra and Roman joined them and they created their own band with high school friends. Max had big dreams for Sleep Walking and their friends in MC’s band, but it didn’t turn out as Max has hoped. Sleep Walking left the country for the USA without their friends and they intentionally lost all contacts with them…
THE MUSE — Olivia “Ollie” Madden (she/her)
You may have never see her face but, as a comics fan, Ollie Madden is a name far from unknown. None other than the comics artist and writer of the most followed comics, Ollie is still a mystery to her fans.
Olivia works for Blue Pegasus, a major comics book publisher, since years. She was the comics artist on a lot of books, it took her a lot of hard work to finally publish her own series. Olivia isn’t only a famous artist, she also is a single mother. She’s taking care of a lot by herself and it often leads to forget about herself. There is nobody to remind her she’s human and not a superhero…
THE PRINCESS — Katharina "Kat" Deluca (she/her)
We don’t need to present Katharina Deluca anymore. Success and awards seem to follow every movies our Lady K touched. She confessed that her break from the cameras and greens screens was to be present for her best friend… Athena Pierce.
Also known as the Princess, Katharina is one of the biggest actresses of her generation. Between two roles worthy of an Oscar, she is also a model and the face of the infamous designer brand: Beaumont-Griffin. She is in the industry since she was 12. But, behind closed doors, Kat doesn’t seem to have a joyful life… What is she hiding from the world?
GODDESS OF MUSIC — Athena Pierce (she/her)
Athena is a legend in the industry. Everybody wants to work with her and Pink Riot. Her voice will shatter your world, there is a before and an after Athena Pierce.
Athena is the lead singer and front woman of Pink Riot. She was a star child and charmed America with her angelic voice. But, with the creation of Pink Riot, Athena is no longer the little angel of the USA. She’s now known as a freaking rebel and she is quite provocative. She flirts with the limits all the time. Her persona is loved all around the world, but who is the real Athena?
☀︎CANON EVENTS☀︎
You can customize a lot of things regarding your MC and your band. But there are a few things that are canon.
— MC is born and lives in France. Where exactly is up to you. The only place MC can’t have grow up in is Paris. (I headcanon them growing up in Perpignan or Montpellier)
— The names of MC parents can’t be choose. I tried to make them as common as possible so you can choose their origins. MC is French but their parents can be from wherever you want!
— MC's age can’t be choose.
— MC is friends with Max and Diesel since they are 6. They were in school together.
— MC’s first band is with Max and Diesel.
— During high school, MC met Roman and Isra. They joined MC’s band but Max didn’t like the kind of music their band was into so they formed their own band with other high school friends (Sleep Walking).
— The OG band (MC-Max-Diesel) exist until the fateful break up.
— MC’s band and Sleep Walking always were there for each other and gave mutual support. They also create songs and musics together, some are only instrumental and other are with vocal.
— MC speaks French and English. Feel free to add a third and even a fourth language.
— MC lives with Isra and Roman since they finished high school.

Till we fall apart
Tumblr media
Till we fall apart
malereader x Calcharo, slight angst to fluff; shortest short of my life; like not really a post just a thing to think about; imagine;
Tumblr media
-I can't believe you finally visited me! I started to think that those promises you made in your letters were just an attempt to pull the wool over my eyes
Your red-haired friend couldn't hide her excitement. It has been... how long? Since your first and last meeting? Three years? Your bond has grown significantly over that time but it didn't change the fact that seeing each other in person brought you both great joy.
-Well… I have to admit that at the beginning it indeed was like that-
You got a solid slap on the head for your words and laughed at it sincerely.
-But I'm glad that fate finally brought us together -you sent a broad smile in her direction- Of course, it would have been better if I hadn't lost my job in the process... -you scratched the back of your neck rather ashamed- But if this is how it was supposed to go, there is nothing I can do.
-I still can't believe they fired you- You worked for them for so long! And it was your first job! -she bit her lips- You took plenty of extra hours… and helped them so much! And they? How could they?! -girl was frankly outraged and annoyed- But don't worry! This is a great opportunity. We will find something perfect for you here!
You looked at Chixia truly horrified. You didn't plan to stay here for long. You had spent your entire life in your hometown, always avoiding leaving its gates. And after this vacations you planned to continue doing so.
-Oh sorry-
-Sorry!
You both said almost at the same moment. You lifted your head up, examining closely at whom you bumped into.
When your heart stopped beating.
Your eyes came across those unforgettable silvery ones.
That distinct Tacet Mark adorning his forehead-… And long white hair flowing in all directions-…
His facial expression didn't say much but his eyes betrayed a sense of horror and unbelief. All in one.
Man passed you with a quick movement and disappeared into the crowd of pedestrians.
-[M/N]? Is everything okay?
Chixia's worried voice awoke you from your trance.
-Yeah, yeah -you quickly put a fake smile on your face- So are we going to get that food?
Tumblr media
You've been in Huanglong for about five days now, and have slowly begun to get used it. At the beginning, you met with Chixia most of the time. Accompanied her not only in her free time but in reconnaissance as well. You also met her friends. At that time, you were never bored. Since the last two days, however, this has changed. Big "secret" mission sentenced you to being alone. But you tried not to complain and explore an interesting nooks and crannies of the city in peace. It was going brilliant. You tasted a lot of good food, heard more than one legend and saw breathtaking things.
Everything would have been great if not for one problem. Whatever you did, wherever you went you felt someone's stare on you. Although it didn't happen for a whole day, it was still extremely annoying and creepy.
You tried to discover the culprit many times. But whenever you turned around, you couldn't see anything except a few deserted buildings or ordinary natives.
However, everything was about to change this evening.
You leaned against the railing. Below you an endless sea spread out, illuminated by the glow of stars that adorned the dark, gloomy sky.
-I was waiting for you to finally show up.
You didn't turn around. You knew that your oppressor was standing just a few steps behind and that he had finally decided to reveal himself.
-You shouldn't be here.
That voice… A shiver went through you. Memories came flooding back like an avalanche.
-I'm glad to see you, too.
-You shouldn't be here.
-You repeat yourself.
-You shouldn't be here.
You growled flustered.
-Exactly like you!
You squeezed the railing tighter. Tears began to run down on your cheeks in streams.
-You knew I had no choice- he sighed.
Finally, he took off his mask.
-Yeah… At least that's what you told me ten years ago. When you said goodbye to me. When we were still friends -you spat out sentences full of venom.
-I wasn't right for you. You would have been better without me.
-Pity that you didn't let me decide about it myself.
You began to tremble. You no longer knew whether it was due to emotions or evening cold.
Calcharo moved closer to you and, with a slow movement, snuggled into your back.
-You are not like me. You are someone better. Made for greater things -he spoke to you using the voice from your past- With me you wouldn't have a future.
You snorted.
-You know I just lost my job? I am currently unemployed with no potential to find anything better. I spent my last savings to go here. When I return, I won't even have enough money for rent. And you? How are you doing?
Calcharo furrowed his eyebrows, squeezed you tighter and snuggled his head into the crook of your neck. His hair tickled your bare skin nicely.
-At least you're not doing anything bad.
You ignored this and continued.
-And do you know why I can't find anything else? Because after you left me, I quit school. All I know now is to how forge weapons.
-Many people need that.
-Do you need that? Do you need me?
You subconsciously tried to seize every opportunity.
-[M/N]… You know we shouldn't-…. - his voice was almost pleading.
Calcharo was always cold and hid his emotions well. What you loved about him, however, was that deep down he cared about those closest to him. Mostly he did it in secret, but your parting seems to have knocked down barriers in him.
-If that's so, there's nothing here for me.
You announced in a firm voice. And pushed away from a railing, trying to slip out of his embrace. Calcharo, however, refused to let you leave.
Frustrated, you let out an excess of air.
-Will you find a place for me in your life?
He didn't answer so you laughed bitterly.
-Since you don't want me, there is no point of me being here now. I'm going back.
Despite your words, you made no move. You were waiting in anticipation.
-Stay with me one night.
Your laughter was endless.
-My one night equals a lifetime.
You finally turned toward him as he slightly loosened his grip. Calcharo took a few steps back.
He looked at you clearly beating with his thoughts.
He had to come with a solution fast. He knew that you were stubborn in your decisions. That's why he abandoned you back then without listening to your arguments.
Yet, minutes passed and your anxiety grew.
-Alright -he stretched his hand towards you.
And you? You reciprocated the gesture.
In the end it wasn't so hard to convince him. He probably missed you, too. He probably couldn't find his place on earth without you either…
I'm not really proud of it but I just heard "People you know" from Selena and had to write it.

And Honestly...
Women who bend over backwards to defend men or call out "misandry" that men are supposedly oppressed by, especially by rallying against lesbians and feminists are so pathetic and stupid in my eyes, and always inspire in me a combination of amusement and pity. Like what do you mean you don't hate them? What do you mean you don't live in fear? What do you mean you fucking feel bad for them that they decided we were a lesser group worthy of degradation and humiliation and would rather emotionally repress themselves and each other than be seen as adjacent to us in any capacity? Are you naive or what? Don't tell me you're caping for your oppressors, as if the shit underneath their boot really tastes that good that you'd rather lick it then stand in solidarity with the smart women who actually call out misogyny and don't coddle men's bruised baby egos even when it doesn't spare men's feelings. The men you're defending don't give a shit about you or any of us and would sooner leave you to rot then treat you as the human being that you deserve to be treated as, so I don't know what benefits you expected to receive from throwing your own under the bus and worshipping men like they're kings. A pat on the back, maybe? Lol.. What a truly depressing and bleak existence you lead. Could never be me. 🤣 Trust me, men couldn't care less about your problems, they certainly don't need you on your hands and knees trying to fix theirs even if they convinced you that they do(because men would rather blame women for their problems then admit they have them and get to work fixing them, everything is a woman's fault and here you are contributing to that shit). Like seriously. Stop the cap.
It reminds me of this Tumblr post:
Tumblr media
Like sorry to be harsh but it's true. You're not and will never be "one of the good ones" so if you're one of those women who defends men from those mean misandrist dykes then I suggest you wake the fuck up before you find out the hard way how little these men think of you. While you're kissing their assholes until you're brown in the nose, this is what they're saying about you. Pathetic. Get a fucking grip, and some self-respect too while you're at it, sis. It's honestly pretty appalling.

PAC ෆ Message from your Shadow
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
Left to Right 1 -> 3
Pick a Card: Message from your Shadow ⌇ This PAC is meant to give you some insight on what you need to hear right now–the things you are intentionally ignoring and don't want to confront. Please take this reading with a grain of salt. Take what resonates!
🌱Book a Reading (Ko-Fi) ☘️Let me know if this resonates with you!
Tumblr media
Pile 1
Hi, Pile 1! Right now, you are going through something–something tough, unfamiliar, and even a bit scary. You're trying to push through it, but in doing so, you are ignoring some important signs. You're tired and drained and need a break. You may feel that you need to push on and stay strong for those around you; maybe there's a part of you that feels like you deserve to feel this way and that you need to subject yourself to these hardships. You don't deserve to suffer in silence. It's hard to express yourself sometimes, but it's time you stood up for yourself. This can come in many forms, from physically standing up to speaking up against an oppressor to giving yourself a day of some much-needed self-care. You deserve it. You need to sit down and have an honest conversation about your current situation and how you feel about it rather than constantly trying to repress your emotions. You deserve to feel safe and loved.
TL;DR: You need to listen to your body's needs and take a break.
Tumblr media
Pile 2
Hi, Pile 2! You've probably heard this one a lot, but there's definitely something you need to unpack from your childhood. You probably already have a couple of ideas of what that means. That unresolved trauma from your childhood still plagues you today, even though you'd like to pretend that it doesn't. There's really no easy way or a how-to guide to cope with this. You've built some tall walls, and do everything in your power to (not so) gracefully dance around from these memories. You'd silently carry this burden than confide in a friend. There's a part of you that really struggles to connect and trust others. You don't want to open up and get rejected. It's important to remind yourself that you are no longer the same person that you were in the past. Look around, and you'll see that your situation has changed immensely. It doesn't need to be an entire dramatic performance with a meticulously thought-out script; if you feel that you have a person that you can trust in your life–open up to them. If you feel that you don't, consider a journal, or talking to yourself aloud (or even sitting alone with your thoughts). What you really need right now is to give life to the words you've been too fearful to say, and once you do, you'll find that things aren't as scary as you thought.
TL;DR: You should really consider opening up, even if that means talking your emotions out to yourself.
Tumblr media
Pile 3
Hi, Pile 3! There is someone or something that you need to move on from. This person/situation hurt you in ways that you never thought you could be hurt. You've cried, gotten angry, and yet still cannot find it within yourself to move on. What you've failed to do is forgive. You don't have to forgive the person or the other people in the situation, but you have to forgive yourself. It doesn't matter if you did literally everything single thing wrong, or if you were just a witness–you need to forgive yourself to heal, and then maybe that forgiveness will extend to other people.
You are not the same person that you were. You've changed, learned, and grown; it may not feel like it right now, but by just enduring whatever situation you dealt with, you've learned something, and you are stronger because of it. Tell yourself that you deserve to be happy and truly mean it–because you do. You have to let yourself feel forgiveness, accept, and heal rather than hold onto the past. It will by no means be easy, but it is something you should work towards.
TL;DR: You need to learn how to forgive yourself and move on from your past.
Tumblr media
Thank you for stopping by! Please let me know what Pile you picked and if it resonated with you. As always, my asks and DMs are open!

when it comes to this “kahanism” shit, i have some shit to say that most of you won’t like. and no, i do not support meir kahane.
i’ve been in zionist spaces for a good 17+ years now. since i was a young teenager and even before then. i have degrees in jewish studies and studied the history of zionism and jewish political movements. we never called meir kahane’s movement “kahanism” at university. yes, terms change over time, but:
the only time “kahanism” has really popped up was when i did personal research. it always appeared on pro palestine websites and in pro hamas literature especially.
it still does on sources like mideast eye and electronic intifada:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
and of course that shitshow haaretz. what does all of this say? nothing good.
i firmly believe that this concept of “kahanism” is a means of trying to equate american politics to israeli politics. and yes, this is done by both diaspora and israeli jews who happen to be more ultra leftist. (btw i am a left leaning moderate so get off my dick.)
the israeli right wing is very different from the american right wing and was formed for different reasons and in different historical contexts. i hate to say this, but not everyone reacts to centuries of oppression, colonization, forced expulsions, and genocide mainly by two groups (christians and muslims) by wanting to give peace a chance.
do i agree? no. but i empathize regardless and i think that’s important. i see so much empathy for palestinians, who are descended from colonizers and oppressors, whose entire political backstory is rooted in jew hate, but very little for us, even amongst ourselves. it’s like sometimes, we hold ourselves to an impossible standard. we are traumatized and that is valid. is hatred? no. but is mistrust? once again i hate to say it, but yes. especially when one group has systemically targeted you and murdered you not just for decades, but longer.
once again: do i agree? no. but i empathize and i think through empathy, things can change.
are there other issues? of course. but boiling it all down to meir kahane, the kach party, and kahane chai and lumping it all together? is unfair. the israeli right wing is varied in its views and platforms. some would absolutely abhor kahane.
also, how many people in diaspora throwing these terms around actually know how the political system works in israel?
not only that, but i do not see islamism discussed with the same sense of disgust and horror. thing is, islamism is different because it is formed by the oppressors and colonizers of that region, but it is much worse. a much bigger threat. (islamism is not islam btw and not every palestinian is horrible. i am talking about leadership and the systems in place for palestinians that teach many of them to hate and want a “free Palestine” from water to water.)
bringing up “kahanism” and accusing people you disagree with of being this weird made up “kahanist” is divisive and wrong. it’s false equivalence to the american right wing. it does nothing to help or heal.
it’s like calling everyone you disagree with a racist or a fascist. it just shuts people up. it does nothing but manipulate the conversation.
stop it with this shit. we don’t need anymore division.
for diaspora jews: stop judging other countries and regions through your own biased lens.
go ahead and cancel me again 😂 i don’t really care.

they're not dismissed because they live in "the bad country" they're dismissed because any solution they might pose, for the vast majority of them at least, will fundamentally involve preserving the state apparatus of israel, which is an inherently oppressive force. the two state solution is not justice. don't twist this into a call for the murder of the israeli population. that is explicitly not the goal. it is a demand to dismantle the fucking government system of a settler state that has spent 75 years committing genocide. if your leftism was worth anything you would believe that israel should be abolished. if you don't, your allyship is shallow and will only lead to electing people who will still do genocide, but with better pr so you can go back to ignoring it. if you really give a shit, genuinely ask yourself if the solution you have in mind would actually stop the genocide of Palestinian people, or if it would just slow it down a little, and answer the question honestly. if you can't do that, fuck off
HA
I predicted this. I saved this to my drafts 3 days ago
Tumblr media
here's that response
there are a lot of people who seem to think that peace would be bad because it would involve Palestinians cooperating with the Israeli government. They believe the government should be spurned at every moment. Any action taken by the Israeli government is inherently one-sided and therefore it's categorically impossible to reach an agreement that's mutually beneficial and respects the dignity and autonomy of Palestinians
I hear this a lot in discussion of the UN Partition Plans. "Oh, so you want victims of violence to just roll over for their oppressors? You can't just steal someone's land and then offer it back to them!" To which my response is always "this is better?". Can you honestly look me in the eye and say that whatever lopsided colonial apartheid agreement you're imagining would've been made in 1948 would've been worse than the situation we have now?
It displays a really limited understanding of how geopolitics works. Countries aren't just a government and a set of borders. A country is also a people and a mechanism through which that people can interact with other peoples. You can't just point at a country and say "they're doing bad things, we should get rid of them". That's how America has functioned for the past 150 years and I thought we all decided that was bad. Dismantling a country doesn't solve your problems, it just creates new ones. "Burn it all down and start over" won't bring back the dead. It won't honor their deaths or make them any more worthwhile
Every time Hamas attacks Israel, Israel gets stronger. The right thrives off of conflict. It's why they don't want to give people free healthcare. When people suffer, it strengthens their positions. Every time Israel is attacked it generates more support for the military, in the people and in the Knesset. The IDF gets more soldiers, more rifles, more tanks. It drives the Overton Window further to the right. The Israeli government starts borrowing more money from the US, starts getting sent more foreign aid, further entrenching their economic dependency. The only reason Netanyahu has stayed in power for so long is because Israel keeps getting attacked. Israel gets hundreds of millions in military aid from the US, a country that has made killing people a science. You're not going to defeat them in open battle. People have been trying for 75 years with no success
I dislike the Israeli state as much as I dislike every state (which is a not-insignificant amount). But I also understand that states are massive webs of economy, policy, international trade, and agreements and treaties. If every member of the Israeli government stepped down tomorrow with no plan, the country would be thrown into chaos and millions would die. You can't say you want to destroy the apparatus of a country that is currently at war, while also claiming you want its citizens to be safe. That's not how that works. You claim that the majority of Israeli leftists want a two-state solution (something I don't believe I've ever said I support), but if that the case you don't have to throw your weight behind those people! There are also leftists who want anarchism, and a no-state solution. There's a vast diversity of thought and pretending that there isn't doesn't help anyone
I notice that in your decrial of people who are actually trying to help, you don't offer an alternative solution. You say you want to dismantle the Israeli state, but how do you plan to do that? I assume from your tone that you're not yourself Israeli, so how do you plan to affect change? You can pressure whoever is the leader of your country to stop sending aid to Israel, but Israel has a domestic economy as well. The worst you'll do is send them into a depression. And if you are somehow successful in cutting of Israel at the windpipe, what will you do when people begin to starve? When people are kicked to the curb because they lost their job? Will you be proud of yourself for sending 9.5 million people into a humanitarian crisis? Does your plan to end suffering involve making other people suffer instead?
We live in a statist world. As much as you or I dislike it, that's the reality we have. You can aspire to a better system, you can set your sights on a world in which there are no states, no governments, no militaries, and no borders. But you can't work within that framework before it's applicable. You can't eat raw cookie dough because you want it to eventually become a cookie. Liberalism won't save us, but it might stop the bleeding

i think what is making me speechless about people interacting with that post is the absolute obtuse way they steer around “poc men” where they state that men are oppressors but poc are minorities and dont benefit from male privilege and then run miles trying to avoid the most straight question of “then what do you consider a poc man then? what of this experience i have had?” to which they are running with the idea of a cishet white patriarchal idea of men with privilege and oppressor status- and refusing to analyze their own inherent racism when they state all men are oppressors and therefore all men should be quiet and listen to women- but of course poc is an oppressed class and dont need to be quiet and that no one would ever say that- but also men need to understand all women are afraid of men. they are refusing to interact with this flat out not controversial statement that the popfeminist/radfem-lite is not intersectional and erases peoples lived experiences, all because they dont want to do the work to unlearn their discomfort and know that they themselves are not immune to “being a bad feminist”. i myself as a mixed poc tmasc have a kneejerk discomfort to cis women due to my exwife leveraging radfem logic against me as a way to subdue and erase my voice and lived experiences because once i started to identify as masculine i was choosing the side of the patriarchy- but i acknowledge that my discomfort is from my own past experience and that i cant treat every woman like they would treat me the same that she did; so all of these users adding to your post, running themselves around in circles to state that they are in the right to continue to stereotype all and every man (but no not every man- poc are not a Man because they arent racist of course) as privilaged and predatory and therefore its the mans responsibility to bend over backwards for their or other people they are speaking on behalf ofs (lets go out to their fields to find the strawman out there) comfort; because feminism means men need to make themselves smaller- like PLEASE!!! these people need to evaluate their own biases and stop showing their entire behinds on a post that they want to interact with but also not be corrected on and please please please pick up 1 (one) bell hooks book (which they wont because they dont read anything, they just have other people tell them what the right things to say are)
sorry about my ramble- it might not be cohesive, but i am absolutely aghast and agog at the gall these people have to be telling you that you are incorrect and that they are simply stating the “accepted truth” of “feminist spaces” while they most certainly are not and are being incredibly dense about plain facts
Yeah I hit my breaking point the other day when I said the word evil. I am not proud of that moment but also I don't know how else to describe what I feel every time this happens. How can anyone look at the body count and say that's acceptable collateral damage as long as their feelings of safety (real safety be damned) are guaranteed.

When people talk about how "rwde is mad that RWBY subverts expectations" I wonder how much of what's considered subverting expectations is actually ignoring set up, doing things out of nowhere, and actually doing a popular and very much so expected thing.
Like don't get me wrong, I do think sometimes people have ideas for what RWBY should've been and then think that it was more set up then it actually was. Like, people who took Blake saying she grew up outside the kingdoms and had to learn to fight to mean "I am an orphan and spent my whole life on the streets" that then got mad when Blake had pretty big house and parents. I might agree that RWBY perhaps shouldn't have given Blake the privileges they gave her specifically because of how they decided to use her to tell the other Faunus to stop being mean to their oppressors (though I'd sooner throw that part out than get rid of Blake being the daughter of a leader with a big house,) but I don't think it was pulling the rug out from under people the way some people do.
However, then you have things like Adam, where some people in RWDE are saying "he was set up as this interesting character who would be an ideological foil for Blake that cared about the cause and his people, and it felt like he'd be used as a way to talk about the injustice in the world of Remnant and then was reduced to nothing but a girl-obsessed hate sink two dimensional incel" and some anti-rwde people are hitting back with "you're just upset that the edgy bad-boy isn't getting redeemed, you just wanted Adam to be Zuko, but RWBY subverted your expectations by not redeeming him and instead giving Ilia the redemption arc, and giving Blake and Yang the sympathy."
And there's a lot to unpack, there. Including the fact that redemption arcs and sympathy aren't a zero-sum game in fiction and as someone who loves both redemption arcs and when characters get justified sympathy, it's frustrating when people act like there isn't enough redemption to go around as if it's a pie and Adam getting a piece of it means Ilia doesn't get any.
But more to the point, A. I at least have zero interest in Adam being a Zuko, because so much of Zuko's redemption arc hinged on Zuko confronting his and his people's role in oppression. Adam is oppressed. Zuko was scarred by an abusive father and banished from home, Adam was branded like cattle by a supremacist who he was working for as a child laborer. Although both are incredibly sympathetic, they're incredibly different. Whether or not the writers were trying to harken back to Zuko (which I believe they were,) they seemed to completely miss the differences between the two characters, and also deciding to 'subvert expectations' when the circumstances they themselves wrote were so different is a bad look at best. As if they couldn't have 'subverted expectations' with a different character like Cardin or Jacques or even Roman Torchwick, that wasn't a member of their in-universe oppressed minority group.
B. A member of an oppressed people group that's been hurt by the oppressors of the world and yet spends their time committing horrible cruel acts that force the heroes to stand against them is not some never before heard of thing. In fact, it's very common. A revolutionary supposedly fighting for equality that's actually hurting the people he's supposedly fighting for is a pretty regular every day thing. People have literally been criticizing how it's misused and usually racist propaganda (usually written by white people) since long before RWBY was even concepted. Adam isn't a proper subversion of anything, in my opinion, because you can't do the common thing and then say you subverted expectations by not doing the less common thing. Which in this case, the less common thing would actually be to make the oppressed person who had been branded and was shown fighting for the rights of his people to actually be a nuanced and complicated character who does deserve sympathy and could be redeemed.
C. It might just be me, but if you're going to 'subvert expectations' then the thing you write instead of the expectation had better be pretty freaking good. Because sometimes the expectation is there because it just works well. Like in a group of heroes, you expect them to develop a friendship. If people want to subvert expectations by instead having them hate each other, the story better be golden because the reason people tend to expect friendship is that it's usually much easier to connect to character dynamics when they actually like each other. If you're going to write a story where hope is a central theme, but you want to subvert expectations by making a sympathetic and cool character with a personal connection to the mains look like they're gonna get redeemed but then instead make them just the worst person imaginable, then you better do it super well and make him instead a great well-rounded nuanced and fun to hate villain. So not only do we have to pay attention to why the writers shouldn't have gone that route for Adam, we gotta look at the quality of what they did with it, and... Nope. It sucked. Adam was paper thin and horribly voice acted and honestly if he'd never attacked in V6 nothing would've really changed because it had no real consequences that couldn't have been better achieved in a different way, and introducing his branding scar in the same scene he got stabbed was purely for shock value, and nothing came of his character, and idk if Ruby ever even learned his name on screen or Weiss knew anything about him, and it was so badly done. If you're going to 'subvert expectations,' you gotta do it well, or people are always going to want the thing they expected in the beginning instead. Unfortunately, the RWBY writers didn't write Adam well at all. So I for one can't blame anyone for saying 'honestly, I wish they'd gone with the other thing.'
D. Back to 'sometimes when people say subverting expectations, they really mean ignored set up.' With Adam in particular, I do believe that he was always meant to be a bad guy who did bad cruel things from the very first trailer he appeared in, but that doesn't at all mean that set up wasn't ignored. From Blake talking about him as a mentor, to her crediting him with the Grimm masks, to the ideological differences, to Cinder literally having to threaten and coerce him into working with her on screen, the set up indicated that at the very least, this would be a complicated and nuanced 'villain with a point' and that point was going to matter and be addressed. The set up was that Cinder's coercion was going to be addressed and would matter. The set up was that Blake's complicated feelings about Adam and her desire to help her people and her later established care and compassion for Ilia (who may I remind people is at least just as bad as seasons 1-3 Adam in at least attempt if not execution,) would lead somewhere when it came to Adam. The set up was that seeing a child laborer literally branded on the face with the logo of WEISS'S COMPANY would lead to big discussions and some sort of recognition of just how bad the current system is and how bad the SDC itself as always been. And instead Weiss as far as we know never even heard about it and continued on being angry that she wasn't set to be CEO and calling her grandfather a hero and Blake was completely disinterested in attending a rally against Jacques Schnee and teased Weiss about her family owning half of Atlas. Like ???
E. Doing things out of nowhere is also not subverting expectations. In regards to Adam, this looks like randomly making him totally obsessed with Blake enough that he stalks her for weeks when he literally let her go repeatedly before that. Doing things out of nowhere is making Adam not care an ounce about his people in order to do whatever Salem says when we saw him reject Cinder outright and need to be coerced with threats to his people. Those aren't subverting expectations, that's just doing one thing and then retconning the character to do something out of character.
This post turned out to be mostly about Adam, but there's tons of examples of this, like people saying RWDE are mad that the writers 'subverted expectations' by making Ironwood turn evil when we were sitting there like 'the fact that he wasn't evil was subverting expectations in the first place! And they had to throw V3 out the window to get where they were in V8! And it was super badly done!' People just throw around 'subverting expectations' when it comes to RWBY because it sounds a lot better than 'flying by the seats of their pants doing whatever pops into their heads with no care or consideration towards set-up or emotional pay off' but that's it, that's what the RWBY writers seem to do. When I expect something to happen in RWBY, it's because it's the natural thing that makes sense to happen, and in their supposed effort to 'subvert expectations,' the writers instead made a show with no consequences where you can't expect the writers to make anything that happens matter and you can't trust what's in the show because the writers might say sike and retcon it. It's endlessly frustrating to be like 'hey was any of what was in the show going to matter' and then have people say 'you're just mad because RWBY subverted your expectations.' RWBY subverted my expectation that the show would be good, how about that?
You know, if the show actually was interested in subverting expectations, Jaune wouldn't be in the show nearly as much and he'd be more gender-non-conforming and be a support healer role instead of the man now with like twenty years of experience on the mains who always has his trauma get plenty of focus and gets away with screaming in Ruby's face that she's responsible for all bad things while he mourns the three different women that were shoved in the fridge for the sake of his character development. They could've started with making the white straight cis able-bodied not-faunus man actually not be a basic underdog-protagonist turned Michael-Scarn-esque tragic hero that Weiss lusts after, but whoops. Like what am I supposed to think, that they're super interested in subverting expectations for the sake of women when Jaune is right there guzzling up screen time? Nah babes.
(Before someone comes in here talking about Adam-obsessed fan boys, I do not even like Adam, canon Adam is not only gross but far too two-dimensional for me to even enjoy, and my own ideas for rewrites involve me boiling Adam down to a concept and building him up again as if he was a different character as much 'Adam' as Ruby is Red Riding Hood. Nobody accuse me of being an Adam-obsessed dudebro or I will lose it. Because that's another thing that a lot of anti-RWDE people seem to do, is decide that the only reason anyone would ever talk about problems with Adam is because they're an obsessed incel man. And meanwhile I'm over here as a bi-women who dislikes Adam partially because he reminds me of my controlling 'my happiness is your responsibility' ex-boyfriend who we - long story - thought might've stabbed someone with a sword once. So yeah, not an Adam fanboy lol.)

Ok last post about this but here's some simple points that it's imperative you read and understand if you genuinely care about trans people especially as one yourself;
A) No sex or gender is virtuous or sinful by default. It's a persons words and actions which determine what kind of person they are. Leave this 'innate sin' Catholic bs at the door and send the pedestal you're forcing trans fems to sit on out with it.
B) Therefore any trans person can be transphobic, transmisogynistic or transandrophobic including if they're amongst the group targeted by the intersectional terms. All of these types of bigotry are unacceptable, regardless of your personal perceived impact on yourself and others. Nobody should be subject to any kind of bigotry.
C) This does not mean ALL members of X group are Y kind of bigots but it also doesn't mean that no X group members are Y kind of bigots. It's good to be careful of these lines of thinking in anyone if we want to get rid of it but see point A.
D) Holding individuals accountable and opposing the general ideology of transmisogyny, transandrophobia and general transphobia (including nonbinaryphobia/exorsexism and transmedicalism) is more affective than demonising a whole group based on their identity. If members are radicalised or bigoted already, they're not changing their minds because you yelled at them to kill themselves nor are they unworthy of redemption.
E) Listening to people directly about the bigotry they face is the key to understanding bigotry you might not face yourself.
F) Trans unity is the tool we need to craft a fortress so strong we can weather any storm but it won't work if we believe that's enemies in our own lines.
G) Using female-orientated insults towards trans mascs is still misogynistic. Using male-orientated insults towards trans women is still transmisogynistic. Telling anyone to kill themselves for existing loudly and in a way you disapprove of, puts you in the wrong automatically. Telling someone or a whole group to kill themselves also invalidates anything else you wish to say before or after said statement.
H) Failure to understand any of this means you are helping no groups, or even yourself, instead you are likely contributing to trans harm. Including harm to the groups you are most personally invested in helping.
Equality doesn't mean making the oppressed the oppressors and it sure as hell doesn't mean the oppressed oppressing each other. Stop doing the TERFs jobs for them.

Transformers One is such a huge breath of fresh air that it made me realize just how incredibly frustrated I’ve been with this IP.
Cause how are you going to make world building, lore and character SO fucking good and then REFUSES to use them in anything even remotely mainstream?!
Listen, I love Good vs Evil narratives, I actually think we could use some more of them nowadays, but it just DOESN’T WORK with Transformers.
Like, how are you gonna look at Megatron, who was born a slave and lived his early years under the control of a people that, in some iterations, physically disfigured them from birth to make them more manageable. Megatron, who led a rebellion whose aim was (usually) equality. Megatron, who sow that the ones in power didn’t care and decided to never again allow anyone but himself to have power over them. Megatron, who became a heartless warlord so that no one could ever enslave them again. Megatron, who led the decepticons to war for thousands of years because they deserved to live on their home planet and he knew that the autobots will never accept them as equals.
How do you look at all of that and go
[Pure Evil]
I mean, don’t get me wrong, Megatron is by no means a good person, he is a WARLORD. What I’m saying is that shit’s more complicated than just good and evil.
And don’t even get me started on the fact that Optimus Prime is considered THE good guy when he’s literally on the side of the oppressor. Like, he literally knows that the sistem if fucked and still usually waits around for shit to get better on it’s one even though he 100% has the power and influence to change things.
(Once again, I am a fan of transformers, I am just picking and choosing universes and characteristics that best illustrate my point that this characters are morally gray)
And all of that is not even talking about the absolutely INCREDIBLE relationship between the two.
Just that fact that they were so close that even after over 9000 years of war “Brother (by Optimus Prime)” is still somehow third in Megaton’s “Also known as” is interesting enough, but their reasons for being enemies?
Megatron’s “I respect you more than I knew I was capable of. I look at you and I see everything I once thought the world to be. You bring out the child in me I thought was dead and buried. I cannot bring myself to truly hate a race that fostered someone like you. And that is why I have to kill you.” alone.
But next to Optimuses “You have chosen the wrong path. You have caused the death of thousands. You have betrayed me. You need to be stopped. But I can’t bring myself to do it. To be the one to break all that you’ve built. To be the one to seal the quote marks around your message.” is fucking legendary.
This is legitimately one only good reason to have a 9000 year long war.
And the fact that NONE of that has been properly explored should be declared a crime against humanity!
Also, seeing as “present time” Megatron is a sassy bitch, the ending of the movie implies that he had a betrayed gay ruled by hate-read to diva whore pipeline, witch is real as fuck.

[WM — September 2024] Prompt 6 — Time-Turner.
Rating: G.
TW: none.
Characters: Remus Lupin, Seren Lupin (OC), Mary Macdonald, Sirius Black (in the haunting-the-narrative kind of way).
Additional Tags: actor Sirius Black; celebrity Sirius Black; trans Remus Lupin; past trans male pregnancy; Mary and Peter are great friends I just need to say it; modern au; actress Seren Lupin but she’s just starting; Seren as a wolfstar baby except Sirius doesn’t know she’s his (or Remus’s for that matter).
Summary: Seren Lupin gets the lead role for upcoming coming-of-age movie Time-Turner.
Words count: 975.
A/N: Heya! I dropped this au in @impishtubist askbox some time ago and since it refused to leave my brain I'm now forced to write about it idk. I’ll write Sirius and Remus’ first meeting (in twelve years) for a later microfic I think lmao. Hope you like it! 💕
@wolfstarmicrofic
read on ao3.
-
Remus is worrying himself sick, pacing alone in the kitchen, opening and closing the fridge to make sure the cake is still here, getting the glasses out, putting them back in, starting making tea, forgetting it halfway through the process. He should have joined them after work, but he was too stressed and too scared of somehow destroying Seren’s chances.
It’s her last audition today. Some sort of chemistry test? To see if she gets along with the other actors? It all made sense when she was excitedly telling him about it yesterday again, but it’s like his brain is mush now.
The door opens, cutting him down from his own spiral, and Remus perks up, more stressed out by the whole affair than his daughter ever was.
“Dad! Dad! I got it!”
Seren appears in the kitchen, grinning like the little gremlin she is, teeth out and her brown curls slipping free from the careful braid Mary pushed them into this morning. Her eyes, a circle of dark brown cascading into a warm grey, are shining with delight and joy, and Remus finds himself breathless with love — just like almost twelve years ago, when they put this small, red, squealing baby on his chest with a congratulation.
His daughter jumps into his arms and he laughs in tandem with her. “That’s amazing! I knew you could do it!” He lets her free, just enough to put his hands on her cheeks and look at her in the eyes. “I’m so proud of you.”
She beams with the force of a thousand suns.
“Thanks! It was so cool, and, oh, you’ll never guess who’s gonna play my dad in the film! And Mister Dumbledore said that we could get a TV show too!”
Albus Dumbledore, one of the most acclaimed film directors still alive, with so many successes behind him — yet so eccentric you could never guess what he will go for next. After a blockbuster about a young crowds of vigilantes saving their world from tyranny, a rather depressing story about a young orphan in the middle of WWII becoming the oppressor, and a passionate but tragic gay romance at the end of the 19th century, a coming-of-age children story is right on par for the course. Time-Turner, as it’s called, will follow a young girl — played by Seren, his own daughter! — discovering her time travel power, while dealing with her mother’s recent demise.
Which makes the father of the heroine the other lead of the film, and someone Seren will have to spend a lot of time with. Remus hopes he’s a good person. Someone nice, who wouldn’t be put-out by her unlimited energy and her never-ending supply of questions.
“So?” he asks as Seren stops talking to take a breath. “Who will play your dad?”
She grins, more excited even than before. She has always looked more like him, in general, with more elegance in her traits and grace in her body than he ever possessed. But like that — oh, like that, she looks just like…
“Sirius Black!” she yells, bouncing on her feet, and she can’t help but do a little, victorious dance.
“That’s great,” he says, croaks out more than anything, and smiles as wide as he can, drowning the drumming of his heart and fear as much as he can. “Why don’t you call your grandparents to tell them the news?” He checks the time. “And your uncle Peter? He should be out of work by now.”
Seren nods and babbles some more and disappears toward her room. Mary, who was standing silently near the door the whole time, finally comes around.
Remus starts busying himself with tea. It’s easier than thinking through his rising panic.
“So,” says Mary, because of course she cannot not say anything. For a brief second, Remus wishes Peter had been the one disponible today — he would have judged silently but not said anything, him. “You never told us Sirius Black is Seren’s father.”
He groans. His face hits the table and he considers staying here forever.
“No one knows,” he finally mumbles. “How did you even guess?”
“He was here today.” She ponders her words an instant. “They’re a lot alike.”
“But he doesn’t—” He stops himself, but Mary has known him since they were kids. She can read him too easily.
“I don't think he does.”
Remus sighs. It’s not ideal; it was already not great when Sirius Black was Seren’s idol, but it will be worse now that they’re in contact. Now that he will be in her life.
“Do I ask how it happened, since you didn’t tell me at the time, or are we doing that later when you can get drunk?”
“Second option,” Remus immediately answers. He can still remember, after all those years, how Sirius kissed him like he was important, the warmth of his hands on his body, the softness of his hair— But they had basically been strangers to each other, several hook-ups to escape boring parties resulting in Remus's panic at his sudden pregnancy and a total loss of contact. And now— Now he has so much to lose.
“I’ll call Peter,” Mary nods sagely. Then, after a beat of silence, “it will come out at some point, you know.”
“I doubt it,” he mutters, prays. “It’s not like he’ll remember me, anyway.”
How could an acclaimed actor, known all around the world, remember a random waiter he slept with twelve years ago? Remus didn’t impact his life the way Sirius impacted his. He’ll never regret it, of course — Seren is the most precious thing in his life, and all the moments preceding her existence were pretty great too — but it's not like Sirius would want to have anything to do with them, anyway.
Remus can at least try to speak it into existence.

I’m married to a goy.
I love my wife and she loves me. I’d go so far as to say we love each other’s respective cultures (Jewish/Hindu). We’ve supported each-other through the respective bigotries of our “fellow Americans” in the US.
But everything about the I/P conflict stresses me tf out. It stresses me out because I know she’s on tiktok way way way more than me. I already know she’s exposed to mountains and mountains of misinformation in our leftist spaces. Misinformation that has and could easily lead to my death or the death of my community members. I do what I can to pick my battles where I may, and I’ve had successes, but I mourn the ones I cannot.
I mourn that I don’t believe I could convince her the I/P conflict is not an extension of White Oppressor /Brown or Black Oppressed.
I mourn that I don’t believe I could convince her of what “Zionism” is. It hurts me when I hear her say “X celebrity is a Zionist, Y celebrity signed this letter” when I know for a fact almost none of those celebrities knows a damn thing about Zionism. Zionism to her is tanks and bulldozers mowing down Palestinians in a colonial genocide, Zionism to me is… less relevant ? The state of Israel exists and thus the goal has been achieved. But hearing people called Zionists? Yeah that makes my heart twinge.
And most of all I mourn that even though I know we agree on the solution to the conflict is peaceful coexistence and not constant war… the people who make up the spaces she’s exposed to do not all feel the same. I cannot waste time on proving each one of these bad faith actors are in bad faith.
It was hard enough to convince her the Super Bowl-Rafah timing was ridiculous when media has been out about Israel’s planned attack for days. And that the “Stop Jewish Hate” ad was not to distract from anything, because it wasn’t even funded by Israel. Also your husband has had to take down blood libel posters from outside his graduate school, our street, his work, and even 10 feet from where we voted in the last election. (Grand total: over 20 posters)
So like… this ad is necessary.
Oy vey. 😅😅😂
Stay strong Yidden, our Allies and loved ones can test us, but we cannot become isolationist and retreat in the face of a challenge. That’s how the bastards win.
We will outlive them.

Ok there is something I need to address that's kind of ticking me off
If you want to leave my blog for this than so be it
But I just need stand my ground on this issue
I was scrolling on my dash and it wad a poll of "who has suffered more" between Jesus Christ and some random TV character
And this is the internet and tumblr no less
I knew who was gonna win hardy Har Har
What have have you
That's not the issue
What IS an issue however is the amount of people SLAMMING on Christianity and Christians as a people group unprovoked
There were a few people in the comments saying that the poll wasn't funny and people should be ashamed (ngl I thought it was slightly funny as a Christian myself)
But that wad about it
No Christian was hating on a people group or saying something along the lines of "you better follow Jesus or your going to hell"
However I didn't go through all of the reboots so I could have very well been wrong
I just looked at the comments
But the amount of people hating on Christians ad a whole were insane, completely unprovoked, and disrespectful
And there were Christians trying to defend themselves very respectfully to some of those comments but the others were having none of that
I saw this one comment talking about how they don't have to respect Christians cause they don't respect them and that they are being oppressed and were the oppressors and colonizers and how Christians only shove it down people's throats
Stuff like that
And (forgive me if I sound rude for thus) but no buddy
That's not how this works (I mean free country I guess but...)
Litterly this does not happen with ANY OTHER RELIGION (and I'm not saying it should)
Are there Christians who go to far
Yes I'm not denying that
HOWEVER
Other groups go too far as well in shoving it down people's throats at times
But I can realize that's not the majority and I still respect the individuals that are sane
But that logic seems to go out the window when it comes to other people and Christianity
If you don't like seeing it on the internet (get thus its the fun part)
YOU CAN BLOCK PEOPLE AND TAGS
Don't go under a post talking or mentioning Christianity and mocking and shaming the entire group as a whole
When you do youbare no better than the people you hate
There are many things I disagree with on the internet
But I just dont interact with those posts
And badabing badaboom problem solved
When it comes to real life
You can walk away
Or if they're following you and bugging you and won't leave you alone after you told them to
THATS HARASSMENT
And not a good example of a Christian
As Christians we are called tk share the word of God
But again you DONT have to listen to it and can decline if someone offers church
If your a minor and your parents make you go to church
You A) don't have to take the sermon to heart
And B) choose to not go when your older and in your own
It's that simple
Can we PLEASE stop doing this
I am begging
