the story is that steve and his crew are deviated space cops (so by means, they're space pirates technically kinda yea). they were on the run from some shady government figure and their fuel got low, so they ended up being deserted on an isolated exoplanet that has an abandoned ship station. they planned to refuel, but before they can their fuel tanks got filled up themselves. in that station, they found ironman suits, which hadn't been produced in years since tony stark went missing after his latest voyage. and during their stay on the station, they keep getting anonymous helps and morse code signals, which hadn't been used for years.

then the government caught up to them and they had a fight. steve suited up and went out to fix external ship problem that got blasted, and he almost didn't make it until two functioning ironman suits flew to them and helped steve and won the fight. one of the ironmans then warned steve to leave.

later, they pieced together the mysteries on the station and found out about the actual fate of tony stark. he was forced to create abominable weapons with arc reactor, which he didn't want to. he ran away his his small crew; james rhodes, happy hogan, and his AI jarvis. the same shady government then hunted them down. they escaped but also ended up getting deserted on the planet. happy passed away due to injuries from their last fight. tony was severely injured. they can't move on. rhodey and tony then rigged up two cryo-pods powered by arc reactor, and they went in stasis until they can get help. as they went in stasis, some stuff happened, and they ended up being space ghost AI that took over the station and the iron man suits tony brought with him.

anyway anyway, steve n crew found the pods. they wokentony n rhodey up. they had big awespme space battle and then they won. stevetony kissed. it was wonderful.

i will also mention in this au, steve is a big fan of tony. he thought the stark voyages and ironman suits are awesome. back in the day, steve's mentor is peggy. peggy are friends with the stark brothers; howard and tony. howard and tony are the type of snipe-y snarky siblings—they care for eachother but they would absolutely also dropkick one another without doubt. rhodey is a military rep and fighter pilot. happy is tony's ship pilot. jarvis (the human) was part of the crew too as a medic and co-pilot until he passed away from sickness. his death devastated them, but tony the most, to the point that he built an advanced conscious AI named after jarvis. JARVIS became their ship's permanent AI and counted as a crewmember.

This was meant to be Civil War but I messed that up. The blue thing is space through the window of the spacecraft, but blankfacejpg usually uses coloured pencils for colour so I did, too.

Note :

i'm gonna go on and say; this is probably the worst-best decision i've made during a mentally unstable, caffeine-fueled period. adapting a fic into a comic??? when my classes just started??? *hand waves at my laptop* with all these wip projects???

(on my defense, i was left unsupervised.)

storyboarding the prologue took longer than it should've, but i wouldn't say i didn't enjoy the process. generally, i had troubles figuring out the background and stuff. and i had to constantly kept in mind that the page is going to be an a5, so i can fit more than just 3 large panels pfffft.

i thought the dialogue balloons would've given me the most pain--i was proven wrong. the interior of steve's store is a mess. i'm already shit at background, especially store backgrounds (though they're fun to do,,,, when you're not in a time crunch sksjskf).

i rarely have free time, so whenever i did storyboarding, i usually tried to squeeze in as much pages of work as i can. i cut out parts from steve's monologues (and god, there were a lot of monologues) just so i can fit the story better into visual format. i just hope i can translate steve's dread and existential crisis into visuals in the next chapter.

the story itself isn't in chapters, but a one-shot. which is good, because then, i'm able to cut out parts and make "chapters" of plot points that would suit a comic narrative better. i should point out i'm in no way a professional comic artist, so my methods are questionable at best.

but hey, you live as you learn.
