ok so that’s a lie, it actually takes months to fully develop and at first it’s not even noticeable

beverly is a little more intuitive with deanna and her needs, deanna’s a little better at sensing and identifying beverly’s more complex emotions

it starts getting noticeable when beverly starts preemptively opening doors knowing deanna is behind them. beverly isn’t sure how to explain how she knows it’s deanna, she just does

deanna starts hearing bits and pieces of beverly’s thoughts

the first time it happened was in ten forward, when beverly thought about deanna in a very... non-platonic way

after that, it starts snowballing

beverly begins to sense concrete emotions from deanna, even being able to reach out telepathically to find deanna when they’re on different decks of the enterprise

late one evening, deanna notices beverly reaching out to sense her and loses it. she jolts up in bed, breathing erratic because beverly can reach out

they have a talk (it’s gay)

deanna has to explain what exact is happening (imzadi ?? idk if betazoids can more than one but yknow) and beverly is very 😳 bc she wasn’t expecting repressed homosexual feelings to take shape in a telepathic bond

they have to address their romantic feelings

Today's headcanon: When Beverly is completely exhausted in sickbay but feels like she needs to keep working, she curls up under her desk for a power nap and sometimes it works and sometimes Alyssa finds her 5 hours later and forces her to actually leave sickbay.

SBDNCJSJS THIS TOOK ME OUT. beverly like, sequesters herself away under her desk and tells the computer to wake her up in fifteen minutes, and FULLY PASSES OUT. and alyssa’s in sickbay like “.. where did dr crusher go ?? she was just in her - oh for goodness sake!” plus, deanna and geordi would never let her hear the end of it. and data would question why beverly thought that was a good idea and then try to recreate it on his own later

thoughts or headcanons on lwaxana being a mother in law to beverly?

yeth i most certain have thoughts on this matter

lwaxana likes beverly. like, rly likes beverly. she likes beverly and deanna’s relationship a lot more than she ever like will and deanna together. and she’s vocal about it.

“little one, i am so glad that you finally got over that man and moved on to someone much more mature and deserving of you, and not mention someone far more attractive.”

lwaxana is determined to inspire some telepathy in beverly. whenever they’re in the same room together, lwaxana will be staring daggers at beverly trying to send her a mental message. beverly assumed, at first, that lwaxana hated her.

lwaxana sends communiqués to beverly semi-regularly, informing her of important betazoid traditions and holidays coming up that deanna likes to celebrate. she goes into details about how deanna likes to celebrate and with who, etc. beverly finds them incredibly helpful.

when beverly wants to learn more about betazoid traditions and history, maybe even pick up some of the language, lwaxana decides to essentially tutor beverly.

once lwaxana officially became beverly’s mother in law, she buys beverly birthday presents every year and sends her random gifts whenever she sends deanna something.

when you spoke about nb will and deanna you said about maybe data considering nb as a label for himself do you have anymore headcannons for this because I really think it's accurate like data says one time he's 'anatomically a male' but never really refers to himself as a man. Also I really appreciate your content you have such good headcannons

i will talk about anyone and everyone being nonbinary it’s kinda my thing >:) tw for transphobia but it’s only one bullet point

at first, data was often confused when being addressed as a man bc they felt they didn’t fit the dictionary definition of a man

they got used to it, assuming that’s how they’ll always be addressed

then someone (riker or troi) comes out as nonbinary, explaining that they aren’t a man or a woman. data decides to do research on the concept of nonbinary, approaching the person about it and asking what it means in human society

they quickly decide that’s what they are and announces to everyone that they will be using they/them pronouns. they’re meet with tons and tons of support

deanna is very proud of data for coming to this conclusion, saying this is them on their way to forming a sense of self outside being an android

data tries going between masculinity and femininity, wearing skant uniforms and dresses to formal events, trying makeup (alone in their quarters), changing the pitch of their voice when they speak

data worried at first that geordi would have an issue with data being nonbinary, but geordi reassures them that he still very much loves them and the fact that they’re comfortable with themself

(tw transphobia) lore demeans data for being nonbinary, telling them that dr soong made both of them to be men and that data couldn’t be nonbinary bc it wasn’t in their programming. this causes data to question their gender and if they rly are nonbinary, but deanna and will assure data that even if both of them were born female and male respectively, they’re still nonbinary

data finds they enjoy taking on female roles in plays after beverly casts them as a girl in a show on board the enterprise

picard tries very hard to get data’s pronouns right, and with more ppl on board coming out as nonbinary, he decides to just use they/them for everyone (unless told specifically not to)

being nonbinary makes data happy :))

on the bridge, they wear their regular uniform and don’t do too much, but at parties and celebrations, they like to wear A LOT of makeup and especially love to match their eyeshadow to their nail polish. their clothing can range from a nice suit to a lavish ballgown, but it takes some time for will to have the courage to actually wear the ballgown

when will first came out, they were wary of wearing dresses and skirts but then deanna reminded them that the starfleet dress uniform is... a dress! deanna also encourages will to try wearing the skant uniform every once in a while (i don’t ship them, but i think will and deanna can both appreciate how will’s legs look in the skant uniform)

will comes out to everyone in ten forward (very proudly) after a couple drinks and everyone is either very happy or too intimidated to say anything. guinan says she likes their gusto

on that same note, will comes out to picard in his ready room, and it’s a moment. picard is touched that will feels comfortable sharing this information with him personally (even tho he already heard from data, beverly, and geordi that will is nb and using they/them) and immediately uses will’s pronouns

data has no trouble changing how he addresses will and also has no trouble correcting those around him who happen to “slip up.” he also approaches will about what being nonbinary means (and maybe even considers that for himself 🥺)

i think betazed has a very gender neutral society, if u feel me? so deanna realizing they’re nb is like, not a big deal for them

that being said, they keep this information to themself for a while bc a) not everyone is as accepting as betazoids and b) they’re a very private person in general. basically everyone on betazed knows deanna is nb (lwaxana will not tolerate her child being misgendered), but not many starfleet officers are aware of this unless they’ve read deanna’s personel file

deanna probably came out to will at the academy when they were first together, and they were the first person will came to after discovering they were also nb (they are good friends)

deanna loves being feminine but always feels like a faker bc they’re not ���androgynous” enough for some ppl. it takes them a little while to understand and accept they can be feminine and still be nb. they also look damn good in a suit

after deanna comes out to beverly, they talk about binding and other alternative methods (it’s the future, theres gotta be other ways besides a binder) to safely give deanna a flat chest when they feel like presenting more masculine, and beverly often checks in with deanna when she knows they’re binding and makes sure they aren’t binding for more than seven hours

deanna came out to picard after first being assigned to the enterprise, and he’s a lot more supportive than deanna had expected him to be. he does his best with pronouns (this is before will), and deanna always smiles when they sense how dedicated and serious he is about getting it right
