ok but does he automatically assume Bruce had a brother he never speaks of? That he lost maybe when he was younger and just doesn't remember it nearly as well? Are any of the paintings in the manor actually of his older brother? #GhostUncle starts trending after some of the other people who #DefinitelyDiedinGotham for at least a few minutes start seeing them as a group a bit more clearly than #StillNotDead folks... so Robin 2 isn't reported as seen via #BirdWatchinginGotham for a while, there are rumors of Batman absolutely losing his shit, and then #StaffRobin shows up. And he's smaller than Robin 2 was. so I mean. obviously this new adopted ghost with the same look and same drive to help people, esp in the Narrows and Crime Alley where help is rarer, HAS to be #GhostRobin. Tagged in conjunction with #RobintheSecond and #LostRobin. The conspiracy theorists are insufferable for a long while in their vindication.

Meanwhile the batkids are losing their minds trying to sort out who it actually is 😂 Bruce refuses to touch it because it's getting him some quiet for once because none of them want to risk him having a full blown meltdown flashback style. Steph roasts him about all of this the most but there are pictures everywhere, both printed and taped up around the manor and as screensavers and bgs on literally every bit of tech possible. Jason and Damian are leading the information hunt, bc #Robin2 is currently trending "outright slander" (Bruce "this is perfect for Identity Reasons" Wayne, calmly watching with coffee: "If it's in writing it's libel") and #BloodSonlmao and #StabbyRobin are trending with more conspiracy theories and Dami is an insecure little shit with minimal knowledge of his paternal line. Tim already knows because he just did a search with the ghosts description and found Phantom online in like. A few minutes. Like a normal person (according to literally just himself, this was not a normal search method). Cass knows he knows and gives zero fucks about who it actually is. because if it was a problem Tim would have said something. She joins in the hunt just to screw with the others for fun because she is outright feral and this is straight up hilarious.

The spirit of Gotham has had many different ghosts holding the title. The current and dare say true title holders are Martha Wayne and her husband Thomas Wayne. They love their city and their son and grandchildren who protect it. It was an emotional time when Jason Todd became a title holder. Even when he was brought back, the realms wouldn't let him discard the title. Gotham is just as much his as he is Gotham.

Oh man, there is so many Spirit of Gotham fics out there that I’m not sure which one you’re specifically talking about, there is that fucking incredible fic I remember someone writing with Martha and Thomas adopting Danny as his ghostly guardians as the ghosts of their city but I can’t find it for the life of me :(.

This is just wonderful. Any Gothamite out there just intrinsically trusts and respects Danny and feels comforted by his presence. There are whispers of a ghost child and his two parents that flit about Gotham helping those in need and down on their luck.

I personally love the idea that time is nonlinear for ghosts, there’s this website called the hypnogogic archives that I’ve been reading recently and they proposed the idea that ghost could exist before the person even died. They are ever-present because their deaths were destined to be and always will happen so their ghosts appear long before their own deaths.

Young Jason has met the Wayne’s in Crime Alley and they helped nudge the kid to find the Batmobile that one fateful night.

So the first time he sees these apparitions in his older years, he remembers them but cant quite place it.

Then he remembers.
