Hey, guys, I don’t generally enjoy asking for money, but I’m kind of in a bind. I had a root canal when I was 15, and now the tooth is starting to decay and needs a crown. My dentist wanted me to get one six years ago, but I couldn’t afford it then. That was actually the last time I saw my dentist, due to aging off my mom’s dental insurance and not being able to afford to go, but now I have my own dental insurance through my job, and I finally went back to see him yesterday. The tooth is (obviously) getting worse (I don’t have a pic of the x-ray, I didn’t think to take one), and the crown is becoming more crucial.

Unfortunately, my insurance only covers 50% of the procedure, which leaves me needing to pay $675.

The $140 with the question mark beside it is something that he may not end up having to do, but he won’t know until he actually gets in there and sees what he’s dealing with. So right now, I’m dealing with worst case scenario, which is the $675. (There are two teeth right beside it that need fillings, but they’re not critical, so I’m putting those off until later.)

They will let me make payments, but the most they’ll let me divide it into is 4 payments, which comes to $168.75 each. The first appointment for the crown is on September 11, and I need to be able to give them the first payment then. I’ll also be stuck with a temporary crown until I can get the whole thing paid off.

I don’t quite work part-time, my paychecks usually average between $200 and $250. $100 of that I have to give to my parents for my car insurance and my phone, and the rest has to go towards gas and food and whatnot, so I don’t have a ton of wiggle room in terms of extra expenses. I’m keeping an eye out for extra hours at my job, but until then, I could really, really use some help in paying for this.
