I'd like to think that he already cares quite a lot for V at "Life During Wartime" so he recognizes that Hellman wasn't as useful as they had hoped for and he secretly observes their breakdown through the Sunset Motel window.
He is more anxious about them than he might like 🤍

I am sensing that there are many parallels of c74-75 to c40
In both chapters we have:
1. the walk in the market; the appearance of the tailor
2. the shadow of In-Hun
3. An honest talk and banter between Seungho and Na-Kyum; Na-Kyum being flustered; Seungho helping him out
4. the appearance of the notice boards
5. the existence of the sun setting
6. a triggered memory
In all these aspects, the only thing missing is the actual appearance of In-Hun, but since he’s currently in Hanyang, he would have to be substituted by someone else entirely.
If you take a look at number 3, you’ll see that NK commented about In-Hun not being taken into a government post despite passing the preliminaries, as noted by one of the nobles in c52:
NK knew of this through the notice boards in the town square (number 4), as the examinees who passed are always posted on the boards. Seungho must have read to NK about the notices once more like he did in c40, but probably only in passing and nothing more.
What strikes me as odd is NK never asked SH how he came to know of In-Hun’s comment about him being a whore, as NK never told him that in c41-42. This implies that NK no longer thinks about any details regarding In-Hun unlike before, and he also states that now, he only cries because of Seungho and no one else.
As I’ve stated earlier, the lingering presence of In-Hun through the notice boards and the setting sun would all have to be substituted by someone else entirely, as In-Hun is not physically present this season.
The only one with the lingering presence although makes a minimal but unforgettable appearance is Nameless. As he symbolizes the thatched roofs and of earthly colors, we now have to imagine him as the replacement for In-Hun in this particular arc
If you recall in c40, after the appearance of the sunset, we see NK lying on the floor with a painting as a memory of a convo between him and Seungho resurfaces in his mind. Although in c75, it’s changed. Seungho now has the triggered memory as commented by NK about the orchid brushstrokes on his belly. NGL, I honestly thought those strokes were just some random lines, but to a trained eye, one can decipher what it truly means.
The fact that NK could even remember the tiniest detail shows how strong and vivid his memory is, that even the most minuscule of details, he can remember. This WILL come in handy later, as the appearance of the substitute had appeared before Na-Kyum as Nameless, we can guarantee that NK is going to tremble before his presence. He’d be petrified, stunned, like how he had been during his final talk with In-Hun after the prostitute remark
If we take the events of c40 into this new version in c75, I can now imagine that Nameless might not be kidnapping NK in the next chapter (HOPEFULLY). Nameless might have a short but lasting conversation with NK in this short span, as we now have to imagine Seungho quietly walking towards NK around the corner, and what could Nameless talk to NK about?
A warning. Of him not to talk to anyone about seeing him on the streets.
Nameless cannot kidnap him while SH is literally around and about, he won’t have the time to cover up prints, to muffle NK’s screams in the quiet street, as Seungho could hear him. So Nameless will give him a warning, similar to his lines in c66:
Nameless is a man of his word and has a sense of justice, so there’s a chance he’ll let NK off the hook. But once Nameless does leave NK alone in the streets, SH will catch up to him, still amused, unaware of the change on NK’s face, and what would he see?
Na-Kyum, petrified, looking at the ground or at the direction that Nameless might have gone through. We’d get to see another breakdown, a new version of chapter 41, where NK couldn’t stop crying in front of Seungho as he painted.
Seungho would take him home, confused, unaware that Min is there in the shadows, following them. Notice that Min was present in c41 during the hunt with Seungho. We have to expect his presence in the next chapters, too, even if he’s not physically shown.
Once at home, Seungho will try all his might to know what had happened for him to cry as soon as he ran away. And like before with In-Hun, NK might not voice out what truly happened, leaving Seungho confused. Where does that leave them?
Remember that Na-Kyum has a vivid memory? The existence of a new painting is yet to appear to make c40 and c75 truly mirror chapters. If NK can’t voice out his thoughts, and the only thing he knows is how to paint, SH can use it to his advantage, to try and hopefully gently coax NK to paint of this very thing that’s unsettling him. But what could he possibly even paint? Nothing but the very chilling image imprinted in his memory:
If Seungho could manage to make NK paint an image of this masked man, he could, in turn, put up notices all over the village’s notice boards, inciting another manhunt from the Yoon servants
Although there’s also a problem. NK could also NOT DO THIS PAINTING AT ALL, given his promise that he wouldn’t be spilling the beans to anyone. That would leave SH in a new array of problems trying to find out what caused NK’s sudden fear despite the two of them being together the whole day
I am sure he’d take a step back from NK, trying to gather all his wits about where he went wrong. He could roam about the house trying to gather his thoughts, where he could somehow overhear the servants talking: the disappearance of Deok-Jae, and the possibility of him having been last seen with a man with a mask of the butcher over his head. At this point, Min could come into the scene. At what pretense, though?
He could spill the beans about the involvement of an assassin, one with a mask that looks like a butcher. At this point, let’s all hopefully think that Seungho could put two and two together and have an investigation of his home being the scene of a murder right under his nose
In the midst of this investigation as a ruse, Min could sneak into the rooms and snatch Na-Kyum up, although that’s nigh impossible given the security of the house, unless one of the servants is involved
(I’M LOOKING AT YOU, KIM.)

Hi, i saw some time ago you compared Royai to Levihan, would you mind elaborating more on their similarities? I ship both and looking at they compared blow my mind
YES. Beautiful ask anon! As always, sorry for only getting into this now, my inbox is still a mess I am currently trying to make sense of. But legit, I could talk about this for hours. Cause I’m that fucking simp who just randomly goes on Youtube and watches the Riza breakdown vs. Lust scene just to see some GREATTT acting and some great crumbs.
So anyway, will be moving on now to this really long and--mind you--uncurated rant.
Disclaimer though: Although I have watched all the fullmetal stuff, from the first anime, to brotherhood to the manga and have lurked in the fanfiction sites long before (like fam, this anime is literally my childhood it’s such a big part of my life that when I hear ‘mustang’ I think of roy mustang not the car), but at this point, the main story line for me is a blur and I probably just remember only the Roy scenes and the Royai scenes well.
I was not a big fan of Edwin for multiple reasons.
Warning: Spoilers abound for FMA so read at your own risk. And for people who watch FMA but not AOT, spoilers abound for AOT is well.
So there are a lot of similarities between Levihan and Royai and I think this is the reason why Levihan definitely appealed to me a lot as a couple. Royai after all was my OG ‘I think I wanna be in this type of relationship’ type of couple.
Military Setting
I’ve always found these types of relationships interesting cause I like to think, you’re in such a high stakes and very stringent atmosphere where you could die at any moment and you’re constantly doing such morally grey things. And with that, people have the tendency to either close in on themselves and just keep to themselves or just go crazy over time. Yet you have people who find the time to form CLOSE and almost ROMANTIC bonds with your fellow soldiers
And I just like the process of exploring how this happens. And you know what makes it juicier?
2. The commander to the subordinate dynamic (with a twist)
The boss to the follower dynamic because Royai and Levihan are both incredibly healthy and stable relationships but they both come from something taboo right? A commander to subordinate relationship? So we ask ourselves? How did they both make it work?
Well, what I notice is despite the implied respect Riza and Levi both hold for Roy and Hange respectively, due to their positions in the military, do you notice Hange and Roy still have respect over Levi and Riza’s opinions. I cannot remember all the scenes in both shows but remember that scene where Riza would just stop Roy half way into fighting when it’s raining because sometimes he does forget that he can’t do his fire thing when it’s raining? It shows obviously that Riza could undermine his decisions if she finds them completely idiotic or out of the blue. Or that scene where Roy was curbstomping Envy when he found out Envy killed Hughes?
So, the thing is Levi and Hange worked like this too. Even before Hange became commander, I think there was an already implied hierarchical difference between being ‘squad leader’ and being ‘team captain.’ Squad leader’s are generally in a higher position and command a much larger group and do you see how Levi approaches Hange? Like when telling her off about risking her life when trying to capture the titan?
And even when she was commander, that telepathy scene?? Can we appreciate, that when Hange became commander (compared to when Erwin was commander), Levi took the reins of a lot of the leading in the survey corps, as if he understood his job wasn’t just to follow Hange but to take care of her?
Like I’m sure Riza saw her job more as a caretaker to Roy more than his subordinate and seeing this in Levihan was just fantastic.
And another thing I love about both of them...
3. They were just the two competent level headed people
This is such a trope for me. I cannot handle couples where someone is just not competent or is so obviously underpowered compared to the other. Like I want them to be able to handle themselves without the other. And even when they’re alone they’re doing shit and you just find out later, by the way I have this bf/gf/partner who is equally competent. But when we’re together we just share one brain cell because we can practically melt when we’re safe with the other.
And the thing is since they’re in a military setting we don’t see them ‘practically melt,’ we can usually just pick out the crumbs (ehem 126), and the fact that these crumbs are such rare gems, makes it all the jucier.
And here’s the thing, in animes and in stories, this ‘competent people’ couple is usually supporting cast cause I dunno? Nobody wants to hear about the competent couple who just figured out they like each other and they just like hanging out with each other for some reason?
And most adventure stories are underdog stories where we watch people start of as dead weight and get stronger which is not boring per se but I dunno, these couples usually dont’ appeal to me fsr because I’m all for the power couple dynamic and the protagonists always have something going on making them doubt their strength so yeah. And there’s usually this token love interest who’s not as strong and tries not to be useless but is kinda dead weight.
4. Their special abilities?
Levi and Hange are a power couple the way Roy and Riza are. When these two couples were introduced into their respective stories, they were all well established as bad asses. We have humanity’s strongest, humanity’s smartest then in FMA we have the flame alchemist one of the strongest alchemists and we have Riza who’s crazy good with a gun.
5. They were never that in your face couple
As said above, I really love competent people ships but nobody really likes reading about people being competent and having their level headed shit together so these characters end up with more of supporting character energy who have their ‘big damn heroes’ moments where they swoop in and save the protagonist.
And the thing is, since they’re supporting characters, there’s so much more room to move when contemplating such couples because the crumbs are there? But at the same time they’re not there? And since I like exploring my own headcanons about those ‘boring’ yet incredibly stable and mature relationships, these tend to be my favorite characters to shoehorn into my spotify playlists.
Edwin and Eremika respectively have more ‘in your face’ crumbs and I dunno, their crumbs for me always seemed to be too obviously there where I was like ‘okay cute relationship’ but ‘I wouldn’t wanna be in a relationship like that’ kinda way.
And since main protagonist romantic subplots crumbs are already ‘in my face’ I end up thinking to myself, what’s there to headcanon?
And like they go through so much more problems romance wise since obviously they are the protagonist. But I guess for me, I never liked those couples who were so obviously together and go through problems that bystanders are aware of. Because I dunno, people might not agree with me but it doesn’t sit well with me when EVERYBODY knows about the problems between two certain people in a relationship.
I always liked those couples who just start off as two people hanging out together and then like five years you find out, they live together and have five cats and it turns out they’ve been married for two of those three years.
And power couples just make it work? Because the stories tend to focus on them being competent people more than being in love so when the coupling actually happens it’s like:
“Wow you live together and have five cats, you worked so hard for it, I’m so happy for you.”
Instead of you know, watching people go through like 3456 instances of miscommunication drama just to end up in a still seemingly doubtful relationship.
6. Iconic scenes for Levihan and Royai?
And here’s the beautiful thing about the crumbs of both of these ships, they are incredibly apparent when the stakes are high and this is *chef’s kiss.* This is literally the climax, the peak to such subtle crumbs. Like okay, fine it’s satisfying to see the main protagonist and their main love interest doing shit and loving each other when the stakes are high like in Season 2 of AOT with Mikasa thinking she’s gonna die so she confesses to Eren or maybe that Naruto and HInata scene in the Pain Arc where Hinata just pops in and saves Naruto and kinda dies in the process
But can we all agree that there is something very very very satisfying about seeing two people who are probably not or are probably dating just going crazy for each other when the stakes are high? Like yo, come on.
My favorite scenes for Royai: The Lust fight scene, the Envy fight scene and lastly, the scene where Roy opens the gates to save Riza and goes blind. Can we just appreciate the fact that Roy risked his Colonel dreams to save Riza by going blind??
And for Levihan? I’m sure Levihans are tired of hearing the chapter numbers but 115? That’s fucking iconic, Hange ltierally jumped into the river with Levi and please tell me that is not a parallel to Roy opening the gates for an already half dead Riza. Mind you, Hange did not even know if Levi would make it or not and she probably didn’t know if she would make it or not either. Any of the soldiers could have literally just shot into the river and nicked them with bullets. She just literally abandoned everything and wooshed to the river.
And I had this convo with a few other people and we were thinking about what if it was anyone else who found Levi. And we came to the conclusion that IT HAD TO BE HANGE. Because somehow, I feel like Hange would have been one of the only few, if not the only one who would have gathered up the courage to jump into the river and risk their own life to save Levi.
And for the next part... Disclaimer: This is just my opinion, please let’s not start a ship war.
Like with the war on twitter “Levihan vs. Eruri,” I started to reflect as well on whether or not Erwin would have saved Levi if he was there instead of Hange but I think it is less likely that Erwin would have saved Levi. Erwin probably wouldn’t have agreed with the rumbling definitely but I cannot help but think, Erwin approached his commander position like a chess master and with this, approached Levi as a superior while Hange approached Levi as an equal and a best friend.
So if, saving Erwin was just going to mess with plans let’s say to manipulate the Yaegerists for some greater purpose, would Erwin have just let Levi die?
7. The magic is no one fits Roy or Riza perfectly.
I had these same thoughts with Shikatema vs. Levihan and now Royai vs. Levihan. So comparing their dynamics, I just have to say, that none of them fit each other perfectly. Hange has Riza and Roy crumbs and Levi has Riza and Roy crumbs too.
Like Roy is some ridiculously strong (Levi) superior (Commander Hange) with a seemingly goofy personality (Hange). Riza is the subordinate (Levi) who’s equally reliable but not as overpowered (Hange) with a very strict but very obviously emotionally constipated personality (Levi)
Like if you put Levihan in some of the token Royai moments. Like the Lust fight? I think Levi would have done something similar to Riza. Okay, he wouldn’t have broken down right then but he would have done something similar to what Roy did when he found out Envy killed Hughes.
I’m convinced Hange would have had a breakdown which is more of an in between between what Roy (Envy fight) and Riza (Lust fight) had in their respective fights. I mean 115 is proof enough that Hange ain’t playing when her bebeluvs is in danger.
8. And towards the end of the series?
Okay this is where the comparisons just kinda diverge because this part makes me sad. In the end game, Royai worked together. Riza became the eyes of Roy when he was making shit explode in the final battle coz he was blind.
And Hange and Levi were completing each other towards the of the AOT end right? Not just with the jian bird references with having parallel injuries. In the final battle though when Levi was out of commission due to the explosion, Hange was the one fighting with the crew until 132. And the moment she died, Levi stepped up and fought right?
Like they had something similar going on, where these two were covering for each other and taking care of the kids. It’s just that compared to Royai who were explicitly working together, we have Hange covering for Levi right after he got injured and Levi stepping up to cover for Hange after she died.
AND I can’t help but think, literally post time skip just could not handle Levihan working together huh? Is that how competent Levi and Hange are as soldiers that Yams couldn’t let them work together just one last time? Like he knew it would mess with the story if he lets Levi and Hange lead at full power?
Which brings me to last point, and the point that makes me saddest.
9. About them being endgame?
Okay, so it wasn’t confirmed that Roy and Riza ended up together because Roy still had his fuhrer goals but AT LEAST THEY HAD A CHANCE? Like their last scene in the show was still them together? And Riza still at least got to follow him?
Levihan… They just… shit just happened and we all know what happened and now I’m reading fanfiction and crying over fcitoonal characters to pass the quarantine.
Anyway, if you reached this point, thank you for reading. And thank you for the question anon!

It’s probably not gonna happen but you know what would be amazing for next episode?
Kiteman leaves without saying anything to Harley or Ivy, who are then left comforting each other about the situation. Both feel like pieces of shit and both are confused about how to move on. Days pass. Weeks pass. As the city rebuilds itself, Kiteman is nowhere to be found and there’s a wall between Harley and Ivy. Everything between them is awkward now because Harley still wants to pursue Ivy but Ivy is riddled with guilt and is still confused about her feelings for Harley and for Kiteman. The crew suffers through the tension, moving between helping them get through their shit and trying to find Kiteman. Ivy wants to find him and so does Harley, but there is still an undercurrent of jealousy from Harley because Ivy’s focused on finding Kiteman and won’t even talk to her about the future and “what happens now.”
During all this, Gotham’s abuzz with gossip about what they have seen and everyone’s taking sides (like how we all are in the comments sections). There’s a good portion of the population that are hounding Harley and Ivy about their “new relationship”, some people are spitting on Harley and calling her a home wrecker (especially Kiteman’s parents, which would kind of be a nice little way to nod at the fact that despite being assholes they do still stand by him), Ivy has people who are talking about how glad they are that she’s dumped “that loser” which fills her with even more guilt, and everyone is laughing about Kiteman, with some wondering about where he is.
The scene shifts and we find Kiteman out of his costume, grounded, without his kite, blending in with everyone around him and succeeding because no one sans Ivy has seen him without his get up. He wanders from place to place, never really going anywhere, sometimes dropping by old spots where he and Ivy had some moments together. He’s not eating, he’s sleeping too much, living like he’s already dead. He walks by a wedding venue and sees the happy couple kiss and look into each other’s eyes lovingly.
He forces himself to look away.
Eventually he wanders into THE PIT or somewhere nearby, feeling low as dirt, lost, confused. He still hasn’t said a line since the episode started. He’s hanging out in the wreckage and the waste, he sees a kite, or perhaps a little harlequin doll, or something that reminds him of what he’s lost. And he snaps, and starts stomping on it and having a breakdown when he feels a hand on his shoulder. He turns to see that it’s Bane. Expecting Bane to attack him or do worse, Kiteman - or, “just Chuck” at this point - welcomes death. Bane refuses. In fact, he sits down with Kiteman and the camera and the audio pans and fades away respectively as they begin to have a long honest talk.
Back in the city of Gotham, Harley and Ivy have one big argument with a lot of their ugliest feelings bubbling up to the surface and bursting out. Very harsh words are exchanged. They separate, leaving behind the crew, lost, confused and hurt that three people they care about are suffering so much. Ivy goes to be alone in a place she loves, maybe an old greenhouse. Harley goes to a carnival or maybe some batting cages to practice her swing. Each of them respectively are confronted by different people who have something to say - Ivy is approached by Catwoman who “had a feeing she’d be at her usual spot” and Harley is confronted by Batgirl and Batman. They all talk.
Batman talks to Harley about relationships and responsibility and knowing what you want and listening to other people, going off of his own failed romances with Talia and Catwoman respectively, possibly even acknowledging a budding relationship with Wonder Woman or Superman (or both, as, in a hilarious twist, their incident with Ivy’s pheromones lead to them questioning their relationships with each other and trying to be a poly throuple). Batman closes the convo off with saying that Harley has to face the music for the people she’s hurt, but also says that he’ll be happy to see her with someone who treats her right and encourages her to listen to her heart. Harley admits that she feel like she doesn’t deserve love and Batgirl argues that yes she does. She thanks Harley for some of her good deeds, and especially for inspiring her to stand up for the person she loves (her dad) and be his hero, the hero that Gotham needed, while Batman was out. And she closes her end of the conversation by telling Harley that no matter what she chooses, she will stand by her decision. Harley smiles and hugs her, and humorously, Batman gets dragged into the hug and hates the whole experience.
In their own space, Catwoman and Ivy talk. Ivy vents to Catwoman about everything that’s gone down and all of her feelings and guilt and confusion about it, and for once, Catwoman listens, without fuss, without sarcasm, without a word at all. When Ivy admits that she thinks it’s over between them and that maybe it was doomed from the start, Catwoman talks about her romance with Batman, how she always expected it to be doomed, caused it to self destruct and how very deeply she regrets that she let him get away and didn’t try to actually fix the problems in their relationship. She admits that she’s lonely and that she lives her life alone and that she enjoys it, but that it doesn’t come without problems. It comes with regrets. It comes with emptiness. It comes with too heavy a price sometimes. And she encourages Ivy, in her own aloof, standoffish way, that if Ivy really feels like she has something special with Kiteman and Harley, she should pursue it. She should be honest with her feelings about both.
So Ivy and Harley run into each other, and they apologize and tell each other what they want. Harley wants Ivy, and also to take responsibility for how she did Kiteman dirty and wants to mend her friendship with him. Ivy admits she loves Harley and Kiteman both and wants to talk to them both to see if they can all pursue something together, namely, if Ivy is romantically with both, and if Kiteman and Harley are okay with that.
But first they have to apologize and take responsibility for what they’ve done.
At that moment, Kiteman enters the doorway. He’s wearing his uniform, he’s got his things. Ivy and Harley are relieved to see him, but somethings wrong. They can tell something is wrong. He walks past Harley like she’s not even there and he talks to Ivy and tells her that he’s leaving Gotham for another city, somewhere where he can start over, somewhere with lots of wind to soar majestically or something or other. Ivy asks him why and he finally finally lets out all his hurt feelings. Without yelling or raising his voice, he calls her out on all her bullshit, stating that if she had just respected and loved him enough to be honest, they could have worked through it. But she didn’t. And to him, that was unforgivable. He says something along the lines of “ive been a joke to everyone around me since the day I was born. But I thought, for once, I found someone who saw me for who and what I really was. A person. When I met you, I finally thought I found my match, my partner in crime who I could spend the rest of my life with, who would be with me no matter what. But I was wrong. In the end.... I was just a joke to you too.”
Ivy is hurt by this and tries to apologize but Kiteman says he’s made up his mind and he just came by for closure and to give her a proper goodbye. Harley tries to apologize, Kiteman ignores her but does tell the others he’s out of the crew and flies off.
He takes one last look behind him, but he doesn’t look at Ivy. He looks at Harley, not with hate, or anger, but bitter disappointment and betrayal. And it’s at this point that Harley truly realizes what she’s done.
Since You’ve Been Gone by Kelly Clarkson, aka Harley and Ivy’s trademark wedding song request, starts playing in the background as a sequence starts to play. Ivy and Harley drift apart. The rest of the crew - Frank, KS, Clayface and Sy - all struggle with the loss of Kiteman. If Harley was the brains of the group, Kiteman was the heart, and without him everything feels colder. Life in Gotham goes on. Villains fight heroes. People rebuild. College kids graduate, and Joker and his new girlfriend witness the kids perform at a school play, with all of his goons in the audience cheering them on. Bane continues helping others. Nora, Jennifer and Catwoman pay their respects to Dr Frieze and leave flowers on his grave before going out to dinner together as friends (and yes, they all have Cobb Squad tattoos on their arms). Riddler still does his riddles but has started teaching a class for cardio at a local gym and is deeply enjoying it. The only job Dr Psycho can get is running and operating a Ferris wheel ride at the local carnival, which, ironically, he’s good at and he actually kind of enjoys, if only because it’s easy money. He watches as a short little girl JUST misses the height test...and uses his powers to alter the sign so she can ride, just so she doesn’t know the crushing disappointment he felt when he was a kid. (Humorously, When she inevitably falls off the Ferris wheel later, he casually catches her with his powers and sets her back down on the ground without even looking up from the porn mag he’s browsing.) Batgirl and Gordon play videogames together until something comes onto the police radio, after which they race to the roof to meet Damien and Batman waiting for them in a jet. Damien shows a flicker of jealousy towards Barbara, but there’s clear implication that the two will form a strong sibling like bond. Batman smiles at Gordon and Gordon smiles at Batman.
Gotham rebuilds. Life goes on.
But in the very last scene, as the song comes to a close, the crew disbands, and Harley and Ivy separate, with heavy hearts and too much baggage between them for anything, even their friendship. King Shark goes back to the ocean, ready to throw himself into his loveless marriage. Clayface leaves for Hollywood, ever hopeful that maybe someday he can become a true thespian. Ivy takes Frank and Harley takes Sy. As Ivy and Frank look on with teary eyes, Harley gets into her car and drives off into the sunset, and leaves Gotham city limits while crying her heart out.
And that’s how the season ends.

No thoughts head empty
Pepe:
- he doesn't like being alone and that's part of why he shares the house with Bob and they are always together (they are best friends but like.. Pepe doesn't have much "me" time because if he spends days without being with someone it affects his mind a Lot. He needs to learn to be alone basically- but that doesn't mean he needs to remove that part of him. Jefa is super good for him because they are kinda free spirited and kinda just appears when they feel like it but since they enjoy being with Pepe it happens a Lot). At first Jefa thought he was just clingy but slowly they realize what's up- tho they found cute at the begging that part of him, being so social.
- after some time he stops smoking so much in front of them so they don't catch second hand smoking even though Jefa tells him it's okay, they don't mind but still he worries about their health (i mean this is just being a nice person towards other human being but being so insistent about not damaging the other person just because you choose to smoke and stuff that's cool)
- he asks Bob (he's a photographer and I haven't shown this part of him yet AJDJKDD someday when I'm not so focused on these two), well, he asks him to take a sneaky pic of him and Jefa someday because he would like to have A Nice Pic Of Them For No Reason™
- when they are relaxing and napping (Jefa Big time Napper) Pepe can't rly fall asleep so he starts realizing the freckles they have and start counting them or even paint on them. This ends up in the situation that Pepe just happens to stare at Jefa while they sleep
- he starts feeling insecure because he doesn't get the reason why Jefa keeps appearing and hanging out with him besides smooching (like after Let's Call It Adult Smooching ™) and he doesn't think he's that great and doesn't realize Jefa actually cares about him. This ends up making the situation of him being more cold towards them because he's a poopy head who doesn't TALK or COMMUNICATE i stg
- after sorting out that whole thing up there, Pepe confronts Feelings™ slowly and when hes upset he does this thing where he just hugs them from behind and puts his face on the shoulder trying to cry (this sounds dramatic af but it's not that deep lmao sometimes you just need to Try To Cry because ur heart is constipated). When this happens it's not that often so it always catches Jefa off guard and they are like "hhhhh hug💜" (ay dios ay dios mIo)
Jefa
- when people ask Pepe if he's not cold Jefa is like "he's from the north of course he's not cold lmao" but they will always carry a jacket or scarf or gloves for him (LOVE LANGUAGE YALL)
- they make these sculptures and stuff for Pepe (there was a whole comic going on explaining this) and when they see something cool that Pepe might like, they take a photo and have like an "inspo" folder to try to make it later for Pepe
- they want to brush Pepe's hair and touch his head but doesn't know how to tell him without making it weird so they end up doing like a joke or something to end up having their hands on his head sjsj
- they are EMBARRASSED about the fact that they like Pepe (when they FINALLY realize because this takes a Long While™ way longer than Pepe). This is actually shitty from them because they happen to not have taken him seriously after a while of slowly knowing him but it's always been like "pfft this is just some stupid dude nothing to worry about" and well He's this whole person with lots of undiscovered strengths who happens to have a different way of thinking and stuff (besides him Actually being a dummy let's face it) but like yonoe. Afterwards Jefa is embarrassed to have thought so poorly of him like he doesn't deserve that either
- Jefa has a huge breakdown one day and Pepe is like dw ill take you somewhere and they take the bus in a 1 hour trip and end up in a ?? Field?? Idk the word rn and I'm not switching apps to check it out but basically a place full of trash and he's like "ok, break stuff" and they are like "do you break stuff when you are sad or something?" And he's like "what?? No. I take some cool stuff from here for my house but you look like you would want to beat the shit out of something". So this is probably not a Good coping mechanism but idk I think it's interesting for them to have this convo and Pepe thinks of what could be good for Jefa in a situation of anger or sadness, not something he would do because they are so different. So yeah Jefa starts breaking stuff and Pepe is just like ":)" in the background searching for a new table akdbakdjd
- Jefa is so fucking annoying with series and tv shows to watch and they don't shut up about it and at first Pepe was "forced" to watch a few but later he starts watching any new thing Jefa gets into so they have something to talk about and because he's enjoys talking with them about these silly things (LOVE. LanguaGE.)
Both
- After a while, they get used to always sleeping and cuddling together so when they are sleeping alone they don't feel as comfy as they used to (not like it's not comfy but. Now hits different)
- sometimes when they are each of them on their own they happen to randomly think about the other person and wonder what they are up to or what are they doing right now
- both of them in the begging had crushes on different people (even if it's a Strong one or a silly one) and then they listened to songs about love and stuff they would think about their old crush. Welp now they find themselves thinking about each other and they don't know what to do with that sjbfkfnd (still they haven't noticed they have a thing for the other)
- when they Realize™ (each of them in a different rythm) they are SO scared of messing up their actual relationship or the development of those feelings because they dont want to fuck up what they have right now and want to play it safe. Also they would be so embarrassed about the others reaction
- Pepe teaches Jefa to accept their failures and failed projects because Jefa is obsessed with always being right or be Good at whatever they do because of fear of failure and insecurities and hipocresy and etc. Meanwhile, Jefa teaches Pepe that his emotions and feelings are important and bottling up is not a Good Thing. They also insist on Pepe to fight for his dreams and objectives (the pilot thing for example- maybe he doesn't end up being a pilot but he discovers he's good and likes to be in charge of the towers in the airport that gives directions to the planes or something, or even the dude with the lights)
- they start having inside jokes between them and showing themselves laugh more between each other and Bob and Rodney even notice and Rodney in specific since Jefa has been hiding from him all this is like "..wait hold on wait a damn second-"
- they start telling anecdotes and stories to Rodney and Bob (Rodney - Jefa ; Bob - Pepe) of each other. Bob just thinks they are partners (which they aren't yet) without saying a word which leads to misunderstandings and Rodney is like " dude. Ur crushing" and Jefa is like NO!!!! WHAT THE FUCK NO??!!
- one day they just start making out but it's all romantic and stuff and they don't know what to do with this because it's like a Different Setting- i feel like a teen writing all this stuff dbslsnfl my past 15 old self is like YeaaA finally I'm making some juicy oc shipping for myself. Anyways they end up cuddling and it's soft. And now I might be just sad about past relationships lmao let's move on
- when ordering food Pepe is So Fucking Slow because he reads EVERYTHING in the menu and I can't stress this enough EVERYTHING and Jefa being just A Nervous Being decides what to eat under a minute because if they don't they die. So this one day they are giving shit to Pepe saying JUST MAKE UP YOUR MIND ALREADY and when the waiter comes they tell Jefa the thing they want to order isn't available rn so Jefa just enters a panic state and orders anything random at the spot. The food arrives and Jefa's thing is Not Good and they ask Pepe if he can give them some of his food and he's like yea can u give me some of yours and idk this is just wholesome funni stuff I wanted to make a comic for but I guess I forgot and now I'm just translating this lmao
- they spend one night in jail I don't know how they just do maybe it's because of disturbance in public late at night we will never know. Anyways they make a scene in jail
-" IS it okay if I cuddle with u"... (They do) (one of them sneezes into the others back and fills their t shirt with the sneeze and the other is like EW WHAT THE FUCK)
- Jefa finds notes and books of pilot school stuff and asks Pepe about it. At first he wants to hide it but Jefa is High-key Annoying and he ends up telling them. They proceed to have an intense conversation. They joke about how Pepe doesn't qualify for the thing but he has extended knowledge about how planes work and what's needed (he did bad in the exams because of his insecurities getting in the way but he would have done great if he had faith in himself) and they later joke about how Jefa is just the opposite, people put too much pressure in them being good and stuff so they just said fuck it and only does stuff in their specific way alone or does nothing.
- they are hanging out really late at night inside the house and see that it starts snowing so they go out to play in the snow in their pajamas. Robin starts screaming that whoever is out there doing that much noise, to stop. They proceed to hide laughing about that whole thing a lot (tender moment. Tender). The next morning there's a bunch of snowman next to pepe's house and it's. Super cute aight..
- one day Rodney goes to Jefa's place and he opens their wardrobe because he's just like That™ trying to find something he gave to Jefa a while ago but ends up finding pepe's clothes which he recognizes (like a sweater or a t shirt) and when he asks them about it they are a super shitty liar not knowing what explanation to do and ends up saying "haha it's just a prank I hate him so I'm pranking him". And rodney, who is , not a dumbass is like "...ah..okay..."
#SUCH A LONG POST#ill update more on my phone notes but ye a#woooo boi#so basically . i love them#🤟😔🥀

Observations and Predictions about Episode 9
First off, I think we didn’t get a full preview because episode 9 will be a pivotal one. We did get glimpses due to the screenshots they put in after episode 8, so with those and previous instances in the series in mind, I compiled some predictions and observations. ^-^ Reminder, everything is just my own thoughts. Also, spoiler alert, please do not read if you don’t like spoilers.
1. MinHyuk and GookDu will arrive at the same time (or one shortly after the other, MinHyuk first)
2. BongSoon has already fought off most of the men ^^ Notice men down and the two arriving at scene
3. GookDu realizes BongSoon’s strength, MinHyuk is shocked by multiple things (1. Again, perhaps, still a little by BS’s strength xD Like, he knows she’s powerful, but it’s still astonishing to him. his peanut-sized king kong K.O. hundreds of men ^-^ 2. Mix of emotions, seeing her okay after almost having a heart attack from worrying about her and having to track her down. [lol, gurl hung up on him after telling him her mom got kidnapped] but now realizing his love rival knows about her strength too or 3. Prediction: Some sore loser thug will use a knife against BongSoon and try to attack her from behind) << which is likely, considering both their expressions contain a sense of fear more than surprise/shock <<EDIT: After teaser 9 trailer and how MinHyuk says, “That’s a relief you didn’t hurt yourself”, I think Bongsoon knocked something during her fight and a foundation of the garage building will fall on her an MinHyuk will cover her and get hurt. Looks like it was a mistranslation and MinHyuk just reveals he’s glad BongSoon didn’t get injured.
Prediction 1: Thug will attack from behind/use knife against BongSoon (maybe that one who lost his teeth, you know how he was trying to use that cane on her and the Thug Boss was like he brought out his “ultimate weapon”, I think that cane has a secret knife at the end or something (?))
Prediction 2: MinHyuk will rush forward, instinctively, and take the stab/attack for BongSoon (hence, why he is hospitalized) [I think director will make GookDu run forward too, but MinHyuk will beat him to it, while GookDu pulls BongSoon out of the way, to safety and/or charges at the attacker. So they both save” her, but in different ways, which I think kinda fits their characters. Like, MinHyuk is the type to use himself as a shield to guard his loved ones [ultimate defense mechanism]. GookDu is more trained as a police and in the sense that he knows if he wants to protect someone, he needs to protect himself and not get hurt and become a burden too. He also seems like the type to pin down the enemy and make sure he/she is incapacitated so that the people he wants to protect can make their escape [defense and offense mechanism].
Prediction 3: MinHyuk is rushed to hospital, BongSoon is crying in worry. GookDu is busy observing BongSoon, mixed emotions of fondness for her strength, but utter confusion and thinking, "What in the actual world? We’ve been friends for 15 years and I never knew about your strength? Like, all those thug reports about you beating them up is real, while I kept denying them and defending you. Wow, I can’t believe you are that strong and I kept calling you ‘weak’ I am a fool." BongSoon continues to mope. Doctors will probably tell BS and GD that MinHyuk is in stable condition. GookDu, unable to make sense of his emotions or anything, will drag a sobbing BongSoon off to a corner to talk with her.
In this screenshot, you see a hospital like background and GookDu dragging Bongsoon away. We know it’s GookDu because of the stripe pattern of his shirt. [feels like director will make his emotions run high and he will scold her like how he normally does >< please don’t though OTL. Directors, you are seriously wasting talent here, argh. ISTG if they make GD force kiss BS, imma flip the table] GookDu will confess his feelings during convo.
Prediction 4: After BongSoon/GookDu chat, whatever the conclusion will be, BongSoon goes to check on MinHyuk, who is already awake and deep in thought. During his time alone, he too, has been replaying the series of events in his head over and over again.
He comes to full realization that, BongSoon is indeed the girl in the pink hoodie who saved him from the bus accident, 8 years ago. She is his muse and the reason he has been staying strong all these years through countless struggles. She is the reason he started to believe in miracles again. She is the reason why he stopped living a reckless life, including stopped serial dating. Everything has come a full circle but now, everything seems like a dream. BongSoon enters the room and displays tender care for him. In fact, she has known, since that time they rode on the bus, that MinHyuk’s savior was herself.
Prediction 5: MinHyuk will confess his feelings. BongSoon is a confused potato because now she has two guys who one after another, confessed their feelings…worse part, she has/had feelings for both. She won’t reply to either/asks for time to sort out her feelings. One, for GookDu, she’s waited 15 years to hear his words. Two, she’s confused and rattled by her own indecisiveness because she thought after waiting for so long and getting the result she could only ever dream of, would make her hop around in rainbows and sparkles, but instead, she’s burdened and almost opposed to this idea because she had just started to let go of her affections for GookDu. Also, now, we have MinHyuk’s confession, which she may be just as burdened because of timing, because of all the realizations and seemingly fairytale full circle of fate that just seems too surreal to be true. She knows she’s developing feelings for him, but she can’t get herself to admit it out of fear that she’s inadequate or that if they are together, she’ll continue to hurt him or get him hurt [think about it, she kept saying she will protect him, but instead, he keeps protecting her and getting himself injured].
Prediction 6: Two possible reactions from BongSoon’s mom: 1. Either she will scold BS and tell her how dumb and useless she is to fall for voice phishing and reprimand her for not protecting MinHyuk. BS may burst out at her mom again and reveal to her that she’s hurt too. Her heart hurts so much seeing people hurt on her behalf/ due to her inability to use her power at significant times or 2. BongSoon’s mom is ready to scold, out of habit, but sees BS’s breakdown/hurting and self-blame and instead, takes off her own bullying mask/strong-front, to console her daughter. There is a level of understanding only women of the Do family can provide one another, after all. [Hoping for #2]
Prediction 7: MinHyuk will start to back away from BongSoon, because he also wants to sort out feelings. Yes, he loves the girl who saved him eight years ago, who he believes is the angel his mom sent to protect him, but he also wants BongSoon (and himself) to know, that, that’s not the sole reason for his love. He was smitten by BS even before he realized she was his savior. On the other hand, GookDu, who has been oblivious about everything for the whole series (and like 15 dayum years prior to that), finally, starts to make his move and tries to take that step closer to BongSoon. [Timing, though, hun, everything in life is about timing. You snooze, you lose.]
Prediction 8: This may not happen in next episode, but I do see the director possibly trying to make a connection between the kidnapper and the main leads. IDK, what it is, but I get a hunch that MinHyuk [and BongSoon] is connected to the kidnapper more than they think. Like, it’s too many hints and coincidences in a drama to just brush it off. I mentioned it in a previous post when I first started watching the series, I thought the directors were trying to hint that MinHyuk was the kidnapper haha. [Ex. His dislike of police officers, his attachment to hiding in secluded areas {hiding in closet and building a secret safe haven dungeon within his closet vs kidnapper’s attachment to imprisoning the girls}, their one-meal philosophy, MinHyuk’s fascination with the kidnapper’s wit, MinHyuk even stating, “When I was younger, I wanted to be the culprit”. Also, remember how BongSoon and his brother almost got kidnapped when they were younger. Something tells me, these events are somehow connected (?) Like, I mean it could just be a theme the director keeps throwing out too. But, maybe there will be some backstory where when MinHyuk was younger he got kidnapped or saw someone (maybe BS and brother) get kidnapped and he tried to call the cops for help but they brushed him off…that’s why he hates cops so much. [Well, that and how his gangster father got chummy with the cops and law enforcements so he thinks all are dumb and corrupt]. If the former prediction is true, the guy who keeps kidnapping the girls may also have been kidnapped when he was young, and MinHyuk and him were imprisoned together and crossed paths, and that’s how they share a similar trauma.
Observation 1: By the way, there was a mention of kidnapper being really bad with knives, that’s why he accidentally killed the first girl he wanted to kidnap. I think there’s a connection to how BongSoon’s mom had fortune read by the monk about how one with strength, can’t beat one with knife. Is this a foreshadow of BongSoon trying to catch kidnapper…and possibly coming into some type of danger?
Observation 2: Love the whole symbolism with the pink hoodie. It’s the thing that helps MinHyuk recognize his savior but more importantly, it’s the thing that pushes BongSoon to find pride in her strength, because it is, in fact, a STRENGTH, not a flaw or weakness or something to be hidden. The pink hoodie is something her grandmother gave her to remind her to be proud of her power. For generations, women of the Do Family, have treated their powers as something special but should be suppressed. Especially, after BongSoon’s mom messes up and used her power selfishly, she loses it completely. Her actions were viewed as a disgrace and her own self-shame leads her to constantly and unfairly reprimand and “control” BongSoon. In fact, the mom just doesn’t want BongSoon to be pegged as a disgrace, like her, but because of this, she has drilled into BongSoon’s mind that her strength is a curse and she must suppress and hide it. When BongSoon wears the hoodie to stop the bus, it’s the first time she realizes her strength can help people - though, at that time, she brushes it off like it’s not big deal. But it is a big deal! She saved so many lives, including MinHyuk’s. MinHyuk’s gratefulness, admiration, and constant encouragement throughout the series was able to make BongSoon finally accept that her power is god-given and a BLESSING not a curse!!!!!! That is why she brought her hoodie out again (T^T)
Random Observation 1: BongSoon’s mother keeps telling BongSoon to not bully people with her strength. She especially gets angry when she hears rumors of her bullying students into giving her lunch money. Again, this is a self-shame thing. Her mom is afraid BongSoon will make the same mistake she has in the past. She links that bullying students for lunch money thing as the reason why she, herself, was punished and lost her power. During the scene with the granny, mom, and BongSoon, they even contemplate whether BongSoon’s mom will ever get her powers back. To be honest, BongSoon Omma, you ain’t gonna get your powers back if you abuse your family and beat up your husband. It has nothing to do with the lunch money incident (or maybe that was the ONE incident that got her punished for misusing her power) but she hasn’t gotten it back because she still has the tendency to bully others, whether verbally or physically, due to her own insecurity. I think, though, in the end of the series, due to BongSoon’s example of using her strength as a positive attribute to help others, not to hurt others, her mom will learn to cherish her family too, and that’s when God will grant her, her powers back ^-^
Random Observation 2: MinHyuk’s worry for BongSoon’s safety should not be misinterpreted as him thinking she is weak. He’s protectiveness is a source of reflexive, unconditional love, and understanding. He knows she is strong but not invincible, especially against weaponry. Also, he knows she is impulsive but compassionate and gullible.
Anyways, can’t wait for next episode!! ^-^ Message me and spaz with me! I love this drama so much.
Share with me what you think??

When Grown Men Cry…
“One guy started pounding on the table and weeping…” (continued below)
It was early 2000’s when I first read Wild at Heart. I remember mid-book a close friend characterized it as 75% Biblical and 25% Worldy. I became skeptical…at first.
By the time I finished the book I realized what he meant. John Eldridge takes a major masculine angle that at times appears to border machismo. He tells the wife to let her husband get the motorcycle and the everyman to climb a mountain. However, he later clarified this as a blueprint or metaphor or example of a general principle. And by the way, I actually agree with the first one. The difference is the motive. The man who wants the motorcycle should be allowed to get it if the only thing in the way is a wife’s fear of danger. It’s not the same as being reckless. The second is the one more about principle. We don’t all need to scale the rock, but we may all need to scale a metaphorical one. Here’s the slogan for the book. Maybe it’ll help.
“Deep in his heart, every man longs for a battle to fight, an adventure to live, and a beauty to rescue.” - John Eldridge
Now that I’ve set up the book for you, let me share some of the retreat.
More of the same? Not even close! I was worried I had romanticized this event. So I told myself not to expect too much. I was pleasantly surprised. More like blown away.
I had become complacent about some things, in particular the idea that spiritual mountain tops were a thing of the past. And in fairness, we shouldn’t expect or even need those if they’re defined by emotions alone. But this was something different. It wasn’t meant to just “retreat” and have a sort of spiritual high for a weekend. Of course, we were literally on a mountain top. It was beautiful Fraser, CO, just above Winter Park, at 8500’ elevation. I took a couple long soaks in the outdoor hot tub shaped like a dull 3-tear-drop Chinese throwing star. Some awesome convos took place there. Anyhow, I digress. The weekend was less about a getaway and more about introducing some freedom found in scripture. I’ll try and summarize some main points.
We watched a lot of movie clips. Manly movie clips of course. Like Braveheart, Gladiator, Last of the Mohicans, Lord of the Rings, and Superman. But we also watched clips from The Kid with Bruce Willis, City Slickers, Good Will Hunting, Les Miserables, Groundhog Day and Jerry MaGuire. What do all these movies have in common? Men seeking to fulfill an adventure deep in their hearts. I’ll just mention a few.
The Kid:
The movie The Kid was a touching fun Disney movie, but the premise is so crucial to the heart of a man, involving a 40 year old and his 8-year-old self, checking in on what he’s become. In one scene, the kid says to Willis, “where’s my truck?”…“my family?”…“my dog?”, etc. Realizing he’s just a single bitter Image Consultant, the kid responds, “I grow up to be a loser.”
City Slickers:
The same happens to Billy Crystal’s character in City Slickers. Faced with a boring job, he ropes his buddies into a cowboying adventure. I’m sure you know it.
Good Will Hunting:
In Good Will Hunting, Will (Matt Damon) is a wounded, beaten as a child, genius who’s concocted such an elaborate mask that it takes another genius (Robin Williams), wounded, beaten as a child, therapist to speak to his heart.
Jerry MaGuire:
In Jerry MaGuire, he (Tom Cruise) has an epiphany and calls it a “breakdown/breakthrough”. MaGuire writes a memo to all the sports managers on how to be more authentic and care for the players. He writes outlandish things like, “fewer clients” and “less money”. He’s ostracized from the business and saved only by a single player who chooses to believe in him because MaGuire gives him everything.
Braveheart:
My favorite is actually in Braveheart, and it’s not William Wallace. Robert the Bruce’s father convinces him to compromise his morals, his word, his freedom, his people, and ultimately his heart, to remain noble and wealthy. Eventually, after betraying Wallace and seeing the hurt in his eyes, The Bruce confronts his father in a rant ending with him screaming “BUT I DON’T WANT TO LOSE HEART!”
Aha Moments:
Here’s the main point of this thing: We are created to be warriors and Satan has it out for us.
John (Eldridge) shared that we are part of a story that is both large and small, both God’s and our’s. He has a story and adventure written for each of us! Just for you! And Satan has a mission to disqualify us from our story. He wants men to be nice, safe, tame, heartless, and of course, to assume he’s not even involved. Yes, Jesus defeated Satan, and that’s the judgement day result, but he’s still very active now! And it is very Biblical to think we are part of THAT war! We do that partially by proclaiming the Name of Jesus over the darkness, but we still need to recognize our authority to speak to it!
John empowered us with the truth that we are meant to be warriors on an adventure and meant for great things! This isn’t some prosperity of pride gospel. Jesus is still Lord and we are still sinful and desperate without him. But we are also fearfully and wonderfully made…in the image of the Most High, children of a King, heirs of a promise, and commissioned to fight in a very real battle…and the treasure is our hearts.
The Enemy, and his demons/evil angels, are fiercely trying to distinguish the flame in our hearts above all else. But we have the power and authority by the name of Jesus to command him to go. “Resists…and he will flee.” (James 4:7). Here’s how you do it:
Agreements:
We’ve made agreements with Satan that we are a number of things God does not say we are. Ugly, Lazy, ADHD, Selfish, Angry, Useless, Fat, Skinny, Dumb, etc. Sometimes they’re even little dismissive things we own like, “that doesn’t matter”, “I’m not good enough”, “I’ll never….“, “It’s just….” Now notice some of these things can actually be your current reality and even somewhat true. The problem lies in the defining. Don’t identify with negative terms that may be your temporary reality. We are redeemed and “will one day display the attributes that are already true about us” (partial quote from Truefaced). So whatever you’re speaking over yourself (or hearing and believing), command the lie to be broken, and believe you were made for greatness.
Last Thing:
I was in a room with 7 other guys from the KC area and we’re trying to keep in touch. While there, I think that also made us want to invest in getting to know each other. Out of 450 guys, it was helpful to be intentional with a few. One lunch, after a session alone with God breaking agreements, we began to share.
One by one the Holy Spirit hit us in the public cafeteria as we confessed things we had been believing. One guy started pounding on the table and weeping as he repeated, “I’m NOT selfish!” Another guy confessed some doubt. Another…dumb, which is one of mine due to my struggles in school and natural comparisons. On and on it went. Tears and honesty in public. I eventually said I struggled with the lack of education, but also some fear and jealousy that I didn’t serve in the military or something.
Afterward, the guy who never spoke, approached me and said, “I’ve known a lot of guys in the military, and they all say the real battle is at home.” And there it was: Another recognition that being a good father and husband is the biggest battle we can fight as men. And then it hit me. No one has ever told me I’m dumb or not strong. In fact, I’ve had the opposite communicated from my parents and wife and close friends. So it must be an agreement, not the truth! And certainly not from God or part of my story!
May you break your agreements with the Enemy, let the Father speak new names over you, become aware of the spiritual battle over your heart, see the value in your ability to father and love your wife, and pass it on!
Below is the scene when Robert the Bruce betrays Wallace. The moment that would force him to “never be on the wrong side again.”
And may you be free.
