overall good episode (i say this after every episode but each episode has been Really Good this season)

this ep was a bit slower? like theoretically i feel like not much happened but i think a lot of things finally came together (ex: Raine's bard rebellion and Darius also working with them, what happened when Raine was kidnapped, the emotional aftermath of the last few episodes are kinda finally being dealt with (king needing a little roadtrip buddy time, luz showing how she feels this is all up to her even though its not probably because of how traumatizing hollow mind was), steve)

very wholesome! i think if this season was binged this episode helps like viewers put everything together and lets things resonate more? for awhile it was each ep seemed to introduce or reveal new information and i think this ep wasn't so much a grand reveal as more so putting together things and giving time for these to settle in our heads

i really like how the responsibility does not fully rest on Luz

idk it is always annoying how "the chosen one" tends to be a kid

and just how the concept of a chosen one creates a narrative of individualism where as much as others can help it is inevitably up to an individual to stop the evil

while here we get to see a community forming to take this burden up together! this does not rest on one person!

tho i really did tear up a little when eda explained why she didn't want luz to come with them idk something about how she cares and how she was willing to go in with no plan to fight the emperor since what matters most is luz's and king's safety... she has questionable parenting skills but eda mom arc,,,,

also the idea that the boiling isles has therapy is so hhhhHHH

i feel like a lot of fantasy works don't really consider therapy or make it part of the universe

but also this is so funny because so many people here need therapy

especially since season 3 is only 3 44-minute specials,,, idk i wish we could get another full season? i am not really ready to let go of this show and i feel like there's still a lot to deal with after they defeat belos (luz's portal, her promise to her mom vs all her relationships in the Boiling Isles (idk she has like no friends in the human realm,,,), boiling isles reconstruction era + reintroduction of wild magic, also like what does the collector want?? are we just gonna somehow slide that into the next two episodes,,,,)

actually it would be interesting if they were planning something similar to season 3 of legend of korra where we saw how the harmonic convergence led to a kind of weakening between the spirit and human realms leading to more air benders and also those weird vines,,,

but like instead it would be belos does open the portal to earth but fails to kill the witches so like a merging of the two worlds and dealing with that? idk i personally like that because it erases the conflict of luz between worlds but allows for other conflicts to arise

Impromptu Ramblings about the NEO:TWEWY Demo

In case y'all weren't aware, I've been a pretty big fan of TWEWY for a couple years now, and with the sequel coming out next month, the excitement I feel for this game is greater than ever :) I played the Demo for the first time yesterday, and following a couple views of some livestreams of others playing it, I felt like sharing my (very ramble-y) thoughts prior to the release of the full game. This post WILL contain spoilers for both TWEWY and NEO:TWEWY, so if you want to avoid those from now on, please block the tags: #twewy spoilers, #ntwewy spoilers, #neo twewy spoilers, #ntwewy, and #neo twewy ^_^ Oh, and if you wanna keep up with any other posts I make about my experience with this game, please refer to the tag "kat plays neo twewy" :)

-First things first: I have not watched the Final Trailer and I don't plan on doing so to avoid spoilers, especially after the pre-release era of KH3 where a lot of the later trailers spoiled a lot of the endgame content. That being said, I've seen some minor screenshots from the final trailer including what many believe to be characters from the original TWEWY, namely Shiki and Joshua. That is all I know about the Final Trailer and I would very much like to remain as blind as possible going into NEO :)

-The very first cutscene was quite ominous in the sense that this game is likely going to be about "changing fate" (a recently common theme in Squeenix games, which I do appreciate), perhaps leading off from the end of A New Day in the OG and trying to stop an Inversion of Shibuya. Also worth noting that A New Day had similar aspects in which the main character experienced "future visions" of tragic events, although in A New Day these events were not able to be changed, while in NEO it seems like one of the main "powers" our protagonist has is specifically to rewrite these events and avoid a "bad ending." Very interesting indeed!

-I really like the revamped comic book style dialogue scenes, it's much more fluid and modern, which is an excellent direction for the series to take!

-I would love to have an actual PokemonGO knockoff of Final Fantasy creatures, please Squeenix that would be incredibleeeeee

-Also the LINE stickers??? Are so cute???

-I would just like to point out that Fret is an absolute treasure throughout this entire demo, he's hilarious and I will protect him with my life

-UHHHH don't like that Fret picked up some Reaper Pins just out of nowhere.....or the fact that they're apparently popular all over Shibuya.............did y'all not learn anything from the OG game or what lmao

-Okay so when I first got the "curry or ramen" scene and heard NPCs talking about the new curry place replacing the old ramen place I became IMMENSELY distressed that Ramen Don was totally cut from the game because....well, Ramen Don is a King okay?? But I'm glad to learn that no, he didn't fall off the face of the earth, he's still in business and he's the one opening the curry restaurant lolol. PHEW, crisis averted!

-.....I don't like the sudden appearance of a Wall Reaper and being able to read NPC thoughts. Wtf happened when they left the ramen place??? Are they playing the Game alive somehow?

-Okay so I have my own theories about this "Swallow" character and what they're up to but considering this is only the Demo and I still Have No Idea What's Happening, I'm just gonna say that I think Swallow intentionally led Rindo and Fret to the Crossing so they could join the Game. I mean, add in the fact that Swallow still communicates with Rindo during the Game and you've got yourself a suspicious character right there lol

-"Hey they're shooting off fireworks!" Fret honey that's not fireworks oof (see also: "*laughs* I'm in danger")

-WOOOOOO way to traumatize Rindo right off the bat like that LMAOO

-The visuals for the intro are VERY GOOD, the song is pretty decent until it gets all "screamo" (which I absolutely cannot stand sorry lol)

-Shoka is every Customer Service employee ever and I respect that

-Susukichi went from being "meh" to "WOW THIS GUY IS FUN" in the span of 10 seconds and I also respect that (he is also built like an Absolute Unit which is hilarious)

-The Wall Reapers (and just Reapers in general) seem.....way nicer and more helpful this time around?? Like in the OG the Wall Reapers were SO RUDE gfhjgjdfkhn and yeah I'm sure we'll get some like that but the juxtaposition of the first Wall Reaper in the OG compared to the first one in NEO is insane.

-The puzzles are quite a bit more entertaining this time around even if it's generally the same "fetch quest" formula lol

-"Rindo's Group" way to go Fret HFKJDGHSDFKJ mans really left the default name in there lmao

-OKAYOKAYOKAY so to those who aren't aware I am a MASSIVE SIMP for Sho Minamimoto, he's my absolute favorite and I think about him daily. HIS INTRODUCTION IS. INCREDIBLE. I LOVE IT SM.

-GOD hearing him actually SPEAK FULL SENTENCES is just SO SURREAL I love this sm

-Also the remix of his theme???? NEO TRANSFORMATION????? IT'S SO GOOD????????? It's like gone from a Boss Theme to a more triumphant sounding theme and I am HERE for it (every version of Transformation is just INCREDIBLE and getting a new one is even better)

-I Love Him, Your Honor

-Also idk how exactly but it's kinda weird seeing Sho in the OG vs NEO, cuz while he's mostly the same Insane Math-Obsessed Catboy, he's.....calmed down quite a bit?? Like OG made a whole point of how poorly he cooperates with others (not to mention just being completely unhinged and trying to kill everyone), whereas here in NEO he's......actually kinda working with others??? HELLO???? Sir what happened to you and Neku during those 3 years I would love to know all about it

-I guarantee you Sho is still probably scheming shite and will likely pull some total insane BS later down the road, and I am very much looking forward to that. Also, is he looking for a certain Pin or something??? Cuz he keeps talking about different Pins and even mentions "this is just another Psych Pin" like he's actively looking for a Pin to do something with. Maybe it also has to do with the "latent powers of Players" thing he mentioned as well??? What is this dude UP TO oml (also is he in contact with Neku at all?? they're both technically fugitives at this point right?? WHAT HAPPENED AFTER A NEW DAY I AM BEGGING YOU)

-I seems like Sho ALSO has an idea of what's going on in this specific game (even if he won't admit it straightforward). Per his quote "The game's 142,857. Factor it out," he's essentially saying, "This game is a neverending cyle, figure out how to get out of it" (or at least that's what I got from his "cyclic number" nonsense lolol)

-I do like how Sho mostly stays out of sight until he's needed for a battle or assisting with a mission, that's kind of on par with his whole "uncooperative" quirk from the OG, plus he might literally have to stay out of sight of other Reapers and Players considering he's likely breaking the rules of the Game (not surprising considering him and Neku broke practically every rule in the book during OG)

-The nicknames for Sho- I can't- They're so FUNNYYYY GFHJSDFKJ

-He goes from being called "Pi-Face" and "Tabooty" in OG to "Mr. Minami" and "M-Teezy" in NEO LMAOO

tukishima is honestly one of those boyfriends that you love dearly, but sometimes you just… fantasize about tripping him while he’s walking by. you never do it but, who knows. one day you might be stretching just as him and his long ass legs are strolling on by. you thought that maybe when you guys were Official ™ he’d chill out but, no. my apologies. he’s still same old somewhat irritating tsukishima. he’s never outright mean to you but that smugness never fades. if anything it kinda get’s worse because he knows you like him, chose to like him, enough to stay. 

congratulations. tsukishima has now been diagnosed with terminal ‘little shit’ disorder. 

this sucks but he’s hot and cold at times :/ he gets moody really quickly if something kills his vibes- even if that ‘something’ doesn’t really exist. this can include things as big as family issues, down to little things like the weather. he doesnt like the rain :(

tsukishima tries not to take this out on you but he can’t help but be dismissive when he’s not feeling the fun anymore. like, for example, if you showed him something on your phone that normally he’d be interested in, he might just blankly stare at him for a few seconds before going, ‘ah. that’s pretty cool.’

when he’s like this he wont answer your texts, which is annoying because he doesn’t have the courtesy to turn ‘invisible’ or even present himself offline. he’s very clearly active but just doesn’t answer any messages because personal convos are too exhausting. however, if you call him, he will pick up every time.

on the flipside, though, just like he gets into sour-ish moods, he also gets weirdly affectionate now and then. it’s not snuggly uwu adorable affection, but he just, can’t leave you alone? he keeps you close asf, slings an arm around you, doesn’t stop with jokes or random shit. he literally doesn’t shut up sometimes, and he’ll spam you with memes or anything (anything) that reminds him of you. 

this ones more subtle but you can always tell when he’s getting into a lovey mood because mid conversation he’ll just call you and be like “its easier to talk than text” but in reality he just wanted to hear ur voice

when you’re sad he’s not that great at handling it, but he needs to do something. he can’t stand when you’re sad because you’re no fun and also you’re his baby wtf you can’t be sad at all ever. What The Fuck. be happy right now

if you’re with him he lets you vent, listens and tries to apply with little advice he has where he can. his responses are usually telling you that you need to get out of your own head, and fuck whatevers bothering you. now, say if your upset about minor, if he’s texting you, he’ll call you in the hopes that it’ll help you out. he offers to come see you, to take you out somewhere. if you don’t pick up the phone he spams you pictures of your favorite thing followed by texts that say ‘answer the phoooooooone stop being sad’

he… he tries his best. no one ever said tsukishima was a master at feelings. 

he’s one of those guys where when you two get together, it spreads as a rumor. no one takes it seriously but they still pass it around like, ‘hey did you hear tsukki and that one person are going out? totally not true.’ half of the ppl cant imagine someone being able to stand him, the other half cant imagine him finding someone he is ABLE to stand (other than yams of course).

when you two are dating #confirmed no one saw it coming, even despite the rumors. love it. bonus points if you’re the more bouncy/happy/optimistic type LOL

protective affff. wants to be subtle but hes kinda mean about it sometimes. hes not mean to you, because he has eternal trust in you. he selectively chose you, after all. you passed all his little tests, you captured his cold heart. of course he trusts you. however he does not, and will not, trust anyone else in the world. literally the only person he’s cool with you being around are your closest friends and his yamaguchi. thats it. 

he’s not barring you from having friends. he knows you need your friends and your people, and hes to be cool about that (unless someone REALLY bothers him). he accepts hes not the only person in your life, but really he’d prefer no one breathed around you at all, ever. please and thanks. yamaguchi show them the door.

kageyama is so awkward at first LMFAO. he’ll bump hands with you and be like pll;eelase but on the outside he mostly just looks constipated :( he’s so touch starved and doesn’t know how to ask for it literally at all

kinda works to your benefit, though :} every single time you touch him he acts like its the first time. he internally freaks out. you’ve held hands a thousand times yet he’s still like !!!!!!!! when you interlock yours and his fingers. if he initiates it, he stares at the ground and burns red. he cant take it. 

literally cannot handle PDA. so fucking cute. it isn’t that he doesn’t like it- he loves the idea. aw :) him and his baby :) how cute :) but then god forbid you kiss him on the cheek and suddenly he cant breathe his teammates are right there and staring at him and hHhhh\HHhh EVERY ONE CAN SEE

behind closed doors he loooves getting kisses, but freaks himself out in regards to kissing you himself. hes a baby, he gets scared. it takes a lot of courage to do something like that, even when no one can see. you can see.

this doesn’t apply if he’s sleepy. if hes sleepy, it’s over for you. he turns into such a big cuddle bug and he tries to get as close to you as possible, too tired to care that he’s being awfully brash when he slings himself over your body like a moth to a flame, snoring in your ear and melting you with his body heat.

hes super attentive to your interests. like– scary attentive. he knows how much volleyball means to him. other than you, now, it’s his world. it means so much to him, so when he discovers your thing, the volleyball in your heart, he goes into hyper drive. he wants to learn that thing right now because if its important to you than it’s important to him, no matter what it is. you will have this boy sewing, painting, working out with you, anything. he’ll make friendship bracelets, fuck it. if it’s important to you than its important to him. 

in return though he does expect that same treatment even if he doesn’t outright admit it. he wants to bond with you so bad and if he got to do that while playing his favorite sport, training, he’s all in. heaven, bliss. he’ll be on cloud 9 just please throw him the ball 

anything that his, is yours. this goes for coats, this goes for drinks and snacks. cold? take my coat. hungry? i just so happen to have an apple on hand. crazy. 

when he’s at the vending machine he always makes sure to get you something but the first time he does it he stresses himself out so bad LOL he wants to get you something you'll like so he stands there for ten minutes just deciding. when you go looking for him you find him disgruntled, forehead against the machine, muttering to himself ‘what do i buy what do i buy what do i buy’

when you tell him what you want, you’d better make sure you chose right the first time. this is because that kageyama, of course, is a man of habit. he likes his routine, he doesn’t shake much stuff up unless it’s forced upon him. so, after you made your choice, he sticks with that to the grave. orange juice? enjoy it every single day for lunch even if you brought your own. enjoy it with dinner. enjoy it with breakfast. if he has something, you have something. every single time. 

unless you go out of your way to specify you want something else he will just keep going. hints and subtleties does not work for him. if you asked for orange juice and two months later mentioned how you were craving apple juice so bad, too bad. orange juice. shoulda asked for apples. drink up.

actually i take it half-way back. this does NOT include milk. if you breathe the word milk, that’s what you’re gonna get. fuck he loves milk so much and you can both enjoy it together, its his dream.

i am SO happy to be out of my last house. wanna hear an incomplete list of horrible stuff there? sure you do!

the house was kept at 55 degrees all winter long. and that was upstairs -- we lived in the basement and were forbidden from keeping the heater (separate from the rest of the house’s heating) on while we were gone. and the landlady thought the basement stayed warmer than the rest of the house? i wanna live in her world

and lmao, we had to pay over $200 each month for that shit

cold shower with low pressure. like, seriously? if you’re gonna have a cold house the least you could do is have some hot water

55 degrees?? seriously?? ILLEGAL,CHANTELLE

i cant believe i have to talk about heating in future households wtf

the landlady (the place was owner-occupied) was nice for the first month and then .. without warning, switched to barely saying hi to us.

at one point she had the bathroom tile redone (but hasn’t done anything about the window insulation, lol) and the mechanic dudes or whatever had to come down to the basement. she’d only given us, like, a day or two in advance to know that the remodel was even happening, and only told us an hour in advance, at like 9am on a saturday, that the dudes were coming down to the basement.

THE BASEMENT HAD NO DOORS. so that shit was scary?? like ...... she clearly had no regard for our privacy. the boiler wasnt in our room or anything but like. the stairs ended at our doorframe so anyone coming in could peek/walk in no problem. it was triggering to both my partner and i regarding sexual abuse stuff. and when we brought it up to the landlady? including mentioning that it was triggering? “oh, sorry” and then she did it again the next day. fml

another time when my partner tried to talk about some issues (including her hostility, and a time when she yelled at one of my partner’s guests for knocking a painting down even tho it was the wrong guest she was yelling at lol) my landlady said “quit with the melodrama” and “who should i be apologizing to?” in a sassy, argumentative way. also she tried to call my partner manipulative for asking for, idk, not-hostility ? 

she never cleaned. ever. and when she did (usually only when she had a guest over) she’d be all like “i cleaned everything” even tho it was only like ... mopping and wiping down the counters.

she’d leave cooked food out for a whole ass day (like, a 24 hour day, not like, cook in the morning then put it away in the evening) and then after putting it away, she’d leave the dirty pot on the dirty stove for another three days. who the fuck does that?

she never cleaned her cat’s litterbox either. when the new roommate asked to move it for one evening for guests, she refused and said she’d move it slowly over the next couple of days. that’s not heinous at all, since cats do get finicky, except that that was nearly a month ago and it’s only been moved a few feet over (and still only gets cleaned like twice a month)

speaking of the new roommate, she watches rupaul--and tried to hide it from my twoc partner after my partner pointed out that rupaul said he didnt want any transwomen on his show. need i say more? yeah? okay! she invited me repeatedly to watch it with her (but not to play board games or video games, both of which she said she likes doing and i said i wanted to do with her)

my partner is also puerto rican and im white and the roommate is white so it feels pretty white/terfy feminist-y of her to invite me but not my partner to do stuff with her .........

while my partner helped her move in, she told my partner that it seemed like i was really dependent on her. we’d literally met twice by then. what the fuck? just because im 19 and my partner is 25 doesn’t mean i’m dependent on her -- and it especially isn’t her fucking business

she also says crazy like every two sentences. i got so used to not being around overtly ableist people holy shit

hhhhh i feel like she did something else but i mean, she’s only been here for a month so it couldnt have been that bad. shes not great with cleaning either. read: nearly as bad as the landlady, but at least she didnt have a cat to clean up after too. i’ll update if i remember lmao

heck, the only reason we even got to meet the roommate before she moved in was because she insisted on meeting us before moving in. the landlady didn’t give two shits about our opinion

the landlady never gave us the key to the house. so, since the lease (that she let us write, luckily) specifically says “ Move-in costs, due at receipt of key and signing of lease” we just never gave her the security deposit lol

another quote from the lease: “ This lease includes a right to present one's gender freely without risk of harassment or abuse from other housemates or their guests. “ we ain’t tryin to stop our landlady from getting her money tho so, we just left instead of arguing about it lol

we didn’t give her any notice about leaving tbh. im not sure how i feel about that but my partner thought it best. the lease just says “ Failure to do so [give a 30 day notice of moving out] will result in forfeiture of the return of the pet deposit and security deposit if it has not been paid in full. “ we already told her to keep the pet deposit and we never paid the security deposit since we never got the key lmfao. so ... gg?

anyway another part of the reason we moved is cause we’re not financially in the best place (not that having $200 utility bills helped) and we’ve given her like two or three, like, copies of a plan to pay basically. with more than half of it coming from already-worked hours. soo uh, tell me why she’s making posts on her tumblr all like “my roommates gave me no notice of moving out and im never gonna get their money [note: i have to come back on wednesday to pick up a 400 dollar check and she knows this] so please send money to my paypal”

like ... i can’t fault her too much cause she just had a roommate directly before us who didn’t pay her for like 10 months of rent. she only kicked him out because my partner convinced her to lol ???? and she didn’t go making posts about him lol. but i do recognize that she’s probably traumatized from that. recognizing that she’s right to be scared doesn’t stop me from being angry about All The Rest Of The Stuff tho

anyway she’s all threatening us with lawsuits and like ... idk fam. i think the law is on our side. if she really wants to waste the rest of her book money on suing us when we shivered in 55 degrees for the whole winter then i cant really stop her
