turns out there is something to be said for leading by example. having seen him regularly spar with lucario, & having heard of his spar with hau, satoshi's pokémon seem to have a polish on their existent vigor, throwing themselves to training even harder, even in their trainer's absence. they've been periodically swapping spar partners, even egging on satoshi himself to come train with them when he's present.

mijumaru in particular seems extremely proud of himself, his grasp on his scalchop far more secure, & more confident in its ricochets.

so it's met with more delighted pride than surprise when during a session with dodaitose there is a bright flash that has nothing to do with a move.

mijumaru evolved into futachimaru !!
