Content/Warnings: explicit smut, oral (female receiving), vaginal fingering, kissing, vaginal intercourse, unprotected sex, overstimulation, internal ejaculation, emotional unavailability, a broken Nomad who thinks he's fine but definitely is not
Author Notes: Back to Reader's POV for the series.
The last twenty-eight hours had been unreal.
You had certainly never had this much sex with anyone before.
You had never spent this much undivided time with only one person before either.
Not to mention that even though the man currently camped out between your legs was Steve Rogers, Captain America, he was still a stranger.
Or was he?
You really didn’t know.
There had certainly been moments when it was painfully clear you were two people who stumbled into each other and tumbled into bed later that night, but then the one-night stand stayed.
He slept in your bed. (There had been sleep some of the time, though not much.) You made breakfast together. You said you probably better shower, he said he probably should join you. The sex there had led the two of you back to your bed, there had been some morning slumbering, then a late lunch. You watched a movie. Fucked. Talked. Kissed. Talked. Sexed. Showered. Talked. Ordered dinner. Been caught up in his kisses again. Ate dinner when it arrived. He had stripped you down again.
And the man had been an enigma through it all. Stranger. Soft. Filthy. Sometimes so intense you were sure you were going to burn up from the way he looked at you, and at other times he seemed distracted, hollow, or somewhere else altogether.
Part of you wanted to suggest he leave, but more of you wanted to know how long this unreal situation would carry on.
And now, flat on your back, you were so thoroughly exhausted, every muscle limp, every coherent thought gone, asking him to leave was the last thing on your mind. You wanted the orgasm he was edging you towards, and you wanted sleep. All you could do was moan and whimper under the assault of his tongue and fingers to your cunt and clit.
Your fingers tangled in Steve's hair, tugging gently as he worked you closer to the edge. Your thighs trembled around his head, heels digging into his broad back. The coil of pleasure wound tighter and tighter in your core with each expert swipe of his tongue.
"Steve," you gasped, "I'm so close…"
He hummed against you in acknowledgment, the vibrations sending shockwaves through your overstimulated body. Two thick fingers pumped steadily in and out of your soaked entrance while his tongue flicked relentlessly over your swollen clit.
Your back arched off the bed as the tension finally snapped. Waves of ecstasy crashed over you, your walls clenching rhythmically around his fingers. Steve didn't let up, drawing out your orgasm until you were a quivering, oversensitive mess.
Not so distantly, you could hear fireworks bursting for the Fourth of July at the city park, and their faint colored glow flashed across the night sky out your window. You had vaguely suggested going out to see the show earlier that afternoon. Now it was the furthest thing from your mind, and no regrets over missing them, not when this god of a man was worshipping and ruining you.
Steve moved up and over your body, his long, thick cock nudging against your entrance, making you whine weakly.
Steve's blue eyes locked onto yours, pupils dilated with lust. He braced himself on his forearms, caging you beneath his powerful body. The head of his cock continued to tease your sensitive folds, coating himself in your slickness.
"One more," he growled, voice thick with desire.
“Steve,” you moaned beneath him. How many times had he said those words? One more. Truly you’d lost count.
"I know you have one more in you."
Before you could protest, he sank into you in one smooth thrust. You cried out, still overwhelmed by the stretch and fullness of him. Your hands flew to his biceps, gripping the corded muscle as he began to move.
Steve set a punishing pace, hips snapping against yours. The obscene sound of skin slapping skin mingled with your breathless moans and his low grunts. His pubic bone ground against your clit with each thrust, sending wicked sparks of pleasure through your overstimulated body.
"Fuck, you feel amazing,” he panted against your neck. Then he rolled onto his back, still buried inside you, and coaxed you up, bracing you at the waist. “Ride me, sweet girl.”
You gasped as Steve lifted you effortlessly, settling you on top of him. His hands gripped your hips, guiding you as you began to rock against him. The new angle had his thick cock hitting even deeper inside you.
"That's it," he encouraged, voice husky. "Take what I give you."
Despite your exhaustion, you found yourself chasing that peak again. You braced your hands on his broad chest, using the leverage to ride him harder. Steve's fingers dug into your flesh, sure to leave bruises as he helped lift you up and down his length.
Your thighs burned with the effort, but the coil of pleasure was tightening again in your core. Steve's eyes raked over your body hungrily as you moved above him. One of his hands left your hip to cup your breast, thumbing roughly over your nipple.
"So beautiful," he murmured.
Your head fell back as the familiar tension mounted in your core. It seemed impossible that your body could produce another orgasm after everything Steve had put you through, but it was also impossible that he was in your bed in the first place.
As the waves of the orgasm washed over you, your clenching pussy pulled Steve along with you, and he gave a shout as he bucked up into you. He emptied his seed into you, and you felt the warmth of it filling you up.
Steve gathered you back to his chest, and rolled the two of you to your sides, facing each other. He looked at you for a long moment, truly looked at you.
Throughout the day you had noticed him looking at you when he thought you were paying attention to other things, but you felt his eyes on you every time. It was a look that pierced you, and now was no different, but now was the first he’d been open and direct going about it.
Though your body was exhausted, the surge of his intense gaze stoked something in your chest, keeping you alert and attuned to him, and you pressed your chest closer to his. He placed the softest kiss to your head, then tucked you under his chin and tightened his arms around you.
And then the two of you talked. Not about anything important, merely quiet words exchanged in the dark, normal as anything though this was anything but normal. He was branded as a dangerous vigilante. He was dangerous, but to you not for the reasons some of the world had pinned to him, but because of the way you were pinned to him right now.
But it was only two nights. Nearly nothing, right?
Best sex of your life. A story to tell when you were old.
He held you until you drifted off to sleep, mid-story, his warmth and his soft voice lulling you into deep, restful bliss.

“Johnny Storm was seen with the new sensation in the modelling industry yesterday night. Rumor has it-”
You pressed the switch-off button with more force than needed as the squeaky voice of the anchor finally died down. Throwing the remote across the bed, you groaned in agitation.
You were dating Johnny Storm. Everything was going well, the meeting was story worthy, he was handsome, charming and had some good qualities you were looking for. This was the first relationship you got into since entering the film industry. Because you may be a hopeless romantic, but you were also choosy.
You didn’t know what happened in the process that just torpedoed your budding relationship. One day you were walking out of a cafe hand-in-hand and the next day, he was fucking some modelling sensation. Maybe you got lost in translation.
Or maybe he was just a fucking asshole. No matter what happened it showed you his true colors. That or instead of coming to you to talk out his issues, he went around, fucking and ghosted you.
Oh, but that was not the problem. The real problem was that you were shooting a movie with him. A romantic movie, with sex scenes. And you have no idea how you would be able to show any affection or chemistry on the screen without being awkward as fuck. This would be the best test of your acting skills for sure.
“Why do you look like you regret being born?” your friend and manager, Wanda asked as she entered your room.
You glanced at her and rolled your eyes. She was trying to lighten your melancholic mood but, it was of no use. “You know damn well why.”
She sighed. “I know, but you’re a great actress. You could easily pull off a serial killer then a rom-com is nothing for you. Don’t get worked up about it. Just imagine your celebrity crush instead.”
You laughed at that. You worked with people whom the masses considered celebrity and if you had a crush, you’d simply ask them out. So, you’re stuck in that department.
“I appreciate your support and I’ll get over this. Just give me some time. Is that why you came here?”
Wanda shook her head with a smile. “No, actually the PR guy told me to tell you to go to partage restaurant. Someone wants to meet you.”
You frowned. “You know if I started giving time to ‘someones’ then I won’t even be able to breathe. I need the specifics.”
“He didn’t tell me. Said the person didn’t want to be known till you meet them. But he said you need to go or they’ll be pissed and it could pose a problem to your career.”
Some rich asshole again. You pinched your nose in frustration. People really glamorised a celeb’s life but if they knew that you all have to play rich people’s puppets, they wouldn’t be so enthusiastic about it.
“Fine, I’ll go. What time and day?”
“8 p.m Sunday.”
“Great. Now get lost, I need my beauty sleep.”
Your heels clicked on the floor as you stepped inside the restaurant to utter silence.
The usually bustling restaurant was deserted. There was no violin swimming in the air, mingling with the chatter of the expensive people, the polished tables had no spilled drinks and the fine plates had no leftovers. The lobby had no sight of a reception and all the staff had evaporated out of existence. You were half doubting yourself that maybe you arrived at the wrong time or date. Maybe the restaurant was closed.
But all of them vanished when a prim and proper lady approached you. You had never seen her before but you didn’t care to ask if she was new.
“Good evening, ma’am, you may go to the VIP area upstairs. Sir is waiting for you there.” She said in a professional voice.
“Yeah, sure. But can I ask why the restaurant is empty?”
“He booked the entire restaurant.” She said like it was the most normal thing in the world. It was not like this place costed more than the top-paying actors in the Hollywood.
You thanked the woman with a polite smile you went upstairs to get to the VIP section.
The he made you shudder from inside. Another sleazy old man who thought that you would open your legs for him just because he was rich was awaiting you and judging by the stunt he pulled. You’d have to be more tactful.
Reaching the shiny golden doors with a lion emblem, separating the demi-gods from the gods, you knocked on the door of the VIP room.
“Come in.” A thick and deep voice called out, making you frown. How come an old man has such a great voice?
Oh, but how wrong you were. Because, as soon as you opened the door, in front of you, sat a man who was far from aged. He was pure muscles. His rings sparkled in the chandelier lights. Draped in the finest black suit with his blonde hair combed back, sat none other than Steve Rogers, the mafia lord of New York. The one who you have been trying to avoid your entire career. Who posed as a successful businessman but everyone was aware of how he earned his dollars. Just, they were too afraid to acknowledge it.
You couldn’t move an inch, frozen from fear and surprise. You had only met him once, during the premiere of your debut film and people had acted like he wasn’t someone who could wipe them off from the face of the earth without even blinking an eye. That night, his eyes were glued to you like Hades's gaze on Persephone. So intense and consuming that you never wanted to see him again.
And now, here you were.
“Sit down, darling.” He husked out, the sound of alcohol filling his glass reverberating through the walls.
Breaking out of your trance with a gulp. You pulled out the chair and sat down across from him while your heart was in your throat. “Good evening, Mr. Rogers. What brings me the pleasure of your company.’ You managed to get out without your voice cracking.
He smirked and leaned back on his chair. “It’s your beauty, your talent and your creativity that brings you here, sweetheart. I’m a big fan of art and beautiful things, you are both of them.”
“Thank you…” You drawl out, expecting him to continue.
“I liked you the moment I saw you. In your pink dress, you looked so innocent, so shy. Overwhelmed by the media attention. I knew you would do something big so I gave you the freedom to shine and shine you did. However, it looks like your freedom has got to your head.” The last sentence was said with a lower voice and an ominous smile.
Your hands became sweaty as they clamped down on the armrest. “I’m not getting what you are trying to say.” You whispered out.
His chuckle only made your heartbeat faster as he leaned forward and his gaze bore into your soul. “Let me rephrase, I claimed you the moment I saw you. But I knew you had potential so I let you go but your little dance with Johnny Storm made me realise it was time you became mine.”
“What-what did you do?” You choked out but you weren’t sure if you wanted to know the answer.
You yelped as he yanked your chair closer towards him till your knees were touching. Your chest moved rapidly as he leaned closer, his hands covering yours on the armrest.
“Awww, don’t play stupid, honey. Johnny, he’s a himbo and you are mine,” He said as his left hand moved to caress your cheek as you flinched away from his touch. “So, I pulled some strings, fed some mouths with dollars and your cute little on-set romance came to an end.” Your eyes widened in horror as he was the one that ended your relationship with Johnny.
He gripped your face in his big hand and turned your head so that his eyes burned through yours. “Trust me, honey, I was generous with him. I could have him disappear and no one would have given a shit.”
“No.” You whispered, wrenching his hands away. You suddenly stood up from your chair, effectively surprising him.
“No?”
“That is not happening. I don’t want to be with you, I’m sorry.” You stumbled back to the door but before you could touch the doorknob, you were whirled around and pushed against it.
“When did I tell you, you could say no?” Steve growled his hand wrapping around your throat. “If you think you can reject me then you are sorely mistaken, darling. Don’t forget that the production house you work with the most is mine.”
You gasped. How could it be his? It was of Tony Stark, you scorched the earth and back and found no such connection.
Steve noticed your reaction and tsked.“You didn’t know? Don’t worry, you are not stupid sweetheart. The public doesn’t know that Stark is nothing but my pawn.” His other hand snaked around to squeeze your ass through your jeans and you screwed your eyes shut as his touch sent tingles through your body and your breaths became shorter.
He tugged you closer to him with your neck, his breath fanning over your skin. “Now, do you still want to be stubborn?”
Now, you were no dumbo. If Steve can jeopardize your relations with his production then he can also ruin your entire career. Mob involvement in the film industry is an unsaid rule. However, you didn’t know their claws were so deep and sharp.
“And what if I leave? Leave this industry?” What could be more precious than your pride?
He gave you a lopsided grin. “Then you’ll just be the wife of Steve Rogers who was an actress. Remember princess, I’ll never leave you alone. If I held onto you for three years what makes you think I’ll not find you and drag you to my hell?”
Tears threatened your waterline as you murmured. “You are really forcing me?” What a stupid question to be asking a mobster.
He let out a throaty chuckle and moved his hand from your neck to his pant pocket however he was still invading your private space as his lips were inches away from your lips. “I’m giving you options: either come willingly or I’ll force you. Your choice, darling.”
He fished out a silver card from his pocket, tracing the sharp and cold edges of it on your face, meandering down your neck and stopping only when it reached the valley of your breast. You gasped harshly when he slid the card inside your bra, the chilled hard paper resting against your warm skin.
“My number, call me when you make a decision. You have one week.” He whispered against your lips before sealing the unspoken vow with a kiss.
With that he slipped away from your body and took his seat again like dark clouds gilding away from the moon before shortly, engulfing it once again. He resumed sipping from his glass like nothing serious happened and said nonchalantly. “You can go now.”
You ran to your car like you were burned. Which you were, your soul was burning. Burning from the choices you were given. Which was essentially choosing which cage you preferred better, golden or grey.
“Did you like the dinner?” Steve asked in his deep voice as he sat across from you at the dining table.
Blinking your eyes away from the full moon that shone outside the dining room window, you glanced at Steve and nodded. “Yes, I liked it.”
You did come to him willingly in the end, after all, what choice did you have? The moment you admitted your defeat and called Steve flashed in front of your eyes. His smug and triumphant words ringing in your ears.
“Nice choice, princess.”
“You seem to like the moon a lot,” Steve observed as his piercing gaze never left you, noting your every move and reaction.
You looked down at your hands, clasped in front of you. His presence still sent chills of fear down your spine. His imposing figure and intense gaze made your heart race. Not to mention the way his eyes sparkled with desire and lust whenever they laid upon you.
“Yes, the night is beautiful.” You replied softly.
“Do you want to go upstairs? In the balcony for a better view? I also have a very pretty garden.” Steve offered and you refrained from frowning.
From the moment you accepted his advances, Steve has been acting like the perfect lover. Sending flowers, expensive gifts, wanting to have nice and deep conversations and supporting you in your work. But still, you couldn’t decipher if he was actually being nice or plain manipulative.
However, you had grown tired, sitting and chatting in the room, the walls suffocating you. “I would like that.”
Steve grinned and stood up from his chair, taking a few long strides he reached you and offered you his hand. “Let’s go.”
You gave him a tight-lipped smile, slipping your hand in his, you got up. You sucked a sharp breath when his hand tightened around your smaller one and his eyes grew darker. You ignored the building tension as he led you upstairs, to the balcony.
His mansion was spectacular, painted beige with marble murals. It resembled old French castles with intricate paintings from Greek mythology on walls to railing carved with various plant and flower motifs.
When he said he enjoyed beauty, he wasn’t bluffing.
Stepping on the top floor, there was a lounge area with a fireplace on the right and a couch on the left. In front was the glass door leading to the balcony. Steve opened the door and you had to hold back your gasp as the view was absolutely breathtaking.
It had the same marble railing as before and also had a sitting space for two people with two chairs and one glass table, perfect for a cosy morning or evening. The balcony ran along the entire top floor, connected with all the rooms.
However, the main highlight was the enormous garden that stood before your eyes. Tall trees were perched vertically of all types, some bearing fruits, some flowers and some none. Speaking of flowers, bright, colourful flowers adorned the garden like jewels. Rose, jasmine, sunflower, etc scattered all over with moonlight pouring on them.
It was straight out of a princess movie and you could spend your entire life wandering inside it, reading books under the tree shade.
“It’s gorgeous.” You whispered to Steve as you stepped forward, leaning on the railing.
“I know, my mother made it. She wanted me to keep the garden big and flourishing. So, I put everything I could to keep it perfect.” Steve revealed and moved behind you, his body pressing against yours.
You were so engrossed in gazing at the garden that you missed his hand coming to cover yours and he laid a soft kiss on your cheek.
“What are you doing?” You questioned as you tried to step away from his grip but he had you trapped.
“Enjoying my view,” He said as he gripped your hips and pressed them against him, his semi-hard cock pressing against your ass. “See what you do to me?”
His lips trailed down, kissing and sucking on your neck. His left hand travelled from your hips to your breast, he squeezed the underside of your tities while grinding his erection against your bottom. Your breathing was getting heavy as he continued to massage your boobs and sucked on your neck, collarbone and shoulder.
You had to refrain from biting your lips. His strong body and demanding moves were making you unwillingly wet. But he forced you into a relationship you didn’t want, you didn’t want this, right?
“I don’t want to do it.” You whispered despite wanting nothing but his hands under your scarlet dress.
“No?” He chuckled. “Let’s check, shall we?” He whispered seductively in your ear.
Your eyes widened as you thrashed in his grip but he stopped all your attempts to deny the truth with a hand around your neck and a squeeze that made you go still. His other hand glided under your dress and found your panties damp.
“Your pussy proved you wrong, princess.” He said with a smug laugh. He sucked at your pulse point as his fingers moved your lace panties aside and caressed your folds. The suddenness made you let out a choked moan as your hold tightened on the railing.
His words embarrassed you but you couldn’t deny that his touch was making your body betray you. He played your body like an instrument.
His fingers ran along your petals, spreading your arousal and brushing your clit, his index finger teasing your entrance when he abruptly stopped.
You blinked, gasping and panting. You were about to glance at him in confusion when he bent you over, your head resting against the marble railing as he went down on his knees, bunching up your dress around your waist. He ripped off your panties, the sound heating your cheeks with humiliation.
“You deserve to be punished.” He said through gritted teeth as he slapped your clit, making you jerk at the delicious sting as he spread your legs wider for him so your pussy was on full display. Wet and ready.
“Spank your ass till it’s burning for going out with that pathetic excuse of a man Johnny or have Bucky watch you as I fuck you senseless. He’s also a fan after all." He spread your labia and sucked on your clit, making you moan out loud as your stomach flipped.
“But I can’t, because this pussy is too tempting of a distraction.” He lamented as his lips went down to your pussy and his tongue teased your cunt with slow yet precise strokes.
Your left hand moved to his hair and tugged on the blonde locks as his administration made your clit pulsate with need. You couldn’t decipher whether you wanted him to stop or continue.
He tutted on you pulling his hair. You whimpered at the loss of his mouth on your pussy when the clicking of his belt echoed in the empty space. He yanked both your hands behind your back and secured them in place with his belt, the grip firm but not harsh.
“No.Touching.” He growled in your ear as his words were accentuated by a slap on each of your buttcheeks, making you whimper in pain and pleasure as you let your forehead rest against the cool marble and he knelt again.
He took your clit in his mouth again but with more ferocity as your pussy clenched around nothing, “Oh my god, Steve yes!” You mewled.
“Captain or I won’t let you cum.” He commanded as his fingers joined in and drew slow and teasing circles around your cunt.
“Captain, please.” You pleaded as your orgasm started to build up in your stomach.
“Good girl, that’s my good girl.” He finally eased his index finger inside of you, his thick and long finger filling your pussy and you were afraid as to how you were going to take his cock as his finger alone stretched your vagina.
He pumped his finger in and out of you all the while kissing and sucking your clit. When you bucked into his finger he added another one, exploring your velvety walls to find your spot that would make you sing. He curled his fingers when you dripped around his fingers and mouth.
“Mhmm, captain. Feels so good.” You cried out as your climax was approaching you faster, your skin glistening with sweat under the pale moonlight. It was so embarrassing, being this crying and moaning mess he had turned you into. His hands kneading your thighs and ass.
“Are you going to cum, princess?” Steve asked in a husky voice as he kept up his pace, replacing his mouth with his thumb to grow circles around the bundle of nerves,
Your skin was on ablaze, the coil tightening in your belly as you were tethering on the of falling apart. “Yes, Captain. Please let me cum.” You requested, spellbound. He didn’t need to ask you to beg, you were already sliding into your subspace. His finger found your g spot as he twisted his fingers, making you whimper as your breath shuddered.
He snickered, sending vibrations through your body. “I didn’t know you were so obedient, good to know.”His hand came down on your clit and it was the final straw that threw you over the edge.
You came with a loud moan as the blinding pleasure brought tears to your eyes and you gushed around his lips and fingers, coating his chin. He lapped all your juice, his pace not halting as he drank your nectar greedily.
Your body was quivering from the force of your orgasm, your heart racing as you tried to collect yourself.
Steve got up on his feet and you almost collapsed when he wrapped a sturdy hand around your shaking body, pressing you against his chest. He jutted your chin up and grinned down at you. “Aw, you already look so fucked out darling but it’s just the beginning, we have the whole night.” He smashed his lips with yours, swallowing your tired whimpers and moans.
After devouring your mouth and leaving you breathless. He picked you up and started walking to his left. You were too dizzy to notice your surroundings till you were hitting silk bed sheet and plush mattress. You glanced at Steve through your hazy vision as he stood at the end of the bed.
He smirked down at you. “How about you return the favour, sweetheart? Strip.” He ordered and it was enough to clear your mind of any hangover.
Your hand snaked to your back and you slid down the zipper and pulled off your dress, your breast clad in red lace coming into view as you completely removed the dress and discarded it on the floor.
You then unclasped your bra, trepidation and anticipation mingling together as your boobs spilled out. Now, you were completely naked, your panties already torn and tossed away.
“On your hands and knees.” He commanded as he quickly unbuttoned his shirt, his abs and chest made your mouth water and you wanted to grab and touch him but shook away the thoughts.
You got on your hands and knees, clothes rustling till the bed dipped behind you. Steve ran his hand up your spine, sneaking underneath to grop your breast. You mewled as his thumb tweaked your pebbled nipples, twisting and flickering the buds till you were writhing under him.
His other hand smacked your ass, causing you to whimper. “Spread your legs more, I want to see that pussy.”
You spread your legs some more, displaying your glistening cunt to Steve’s hungry gaze. “You have such a pretty pussy.” He said as he played with you enough that you were whining before he rubbed the tip of his cock over your cunt, spreading your arousal and his pre cum.
You shuddered, you had an inclining that he was big but how much? That you didn’t know since you couldn’t see his dick from your position.
He slapped the head of his cock on your pussy and you visibly shuddered. He did it a few more times before you were dripping for him and was on the verge of sobbing in frustration.
“Such a shame that it is about to get ruined by my big cock.” He declared and pushed the tip inside you. You moaned as you awaited your eventual mounting.
You clutched the silky sheets as he slowly bottomed out, your walls spasmed as they tried to accommodate his length. You were so full already and he was gracious enough to give you time to adjust. All the while he explored your body, kissing your spine, kneading and spanking your thighs, ass and breasts. His touch was electrifying and in no time, you were whimpering for him to move.
“Ah, someone is getting impatient.” Steve mocked but began moving out of your hot channel. He was slow and deliberate, his girth dragged through your walls and your pussy fluttered.
He hissed. “Don’t do that darling if you want to walk the next day.” He pulled out all the way, only the tip remained inside. Pushing your head further into the pillow as he slammed inside your cunt in one stroke, taking your breath away.
“Look at your pussy, pulling me in and clenching around me,” He grunted as his hold on your hips tightened. He looked where you two were connected and sighed in awe. “I didn’t know you were such a slut, you look so innocent. But look at you now, dripping around a man’s dick you barely know,” He pulled out again and thrusted back in with the same power. The slow yet rough pace he set made you cry out in pleasure as your climax started to stir in your lower belly again. “But I like how cockdrunk you are that you just don’t give a shit anymore.” He groaned and pulled out.
He changed his angle slightly and when he thrusted back again, he hit your g-spot and you screamed, flames of pleasure intensifying. He tugged you by the hair, pressing you against his toned chest. “Tell me that you are my slut.” He growled in my ear.
“I’m your slut, Captain!” you said breathlessly as his deep thrusts made you gasp.
His hand came to your clit and his thumb started drawing circles, making you tremble in his grip. “Yes, you are my slut. My fuck toy, who would let me do whatever I want and whenever I want with her because I own you now. Repeat what I have said.” He thrusted harder and if it wasn't for his strong grip, you would have fallen down.
“I'm your fuck toy. You can do whatever you want and whenever you want with me because you own me now.” You cried.
“Such a good obedient girl- Ahh, taking my cock so well. Now, you are going to ask me to make you cum.” He groaned his thumb sped up. Leaning down, he sucked on your pulse point, surely leaving a hickey, marking you as his.
“Please Captain, let me cum! Let me cum around your big cock.” You squealed out. Tilting your face upwards he kissed, hard and rough, you moaned against his lips as you tasted yourself on him.
“Good girl, now cum for me.” He demanded as fingers and thumb pinched your clit, his cock hitting your sweet spot in quick succession.
You shrieked ‘captain’ as you came around his girth, squirting on his dick. “Good, what a good little slut for your captain.” He moaned in satisfaction as he nibbled at your earlobe, fucking you through your release.
He let go of you when your shaking died down. Your face fell on the pillow as you tried to catch your breath. Your fucked out mind didn’t register that he didn’t come till you were being flipped on your back. Coming face-to-face with his annoyingly handsome face.
“You didn’t think it was over, did you?” He rasped with a smirk as he plunged into your cunt once again, but this time with more fervour.
You instantly mewled but the overstimulation and coming two times had worn you out, you weren’t used to this. You attempted to scoot away from Steve. “I-I can’t, too much.”
He pulled you back down on his cock, wrapping your legs around his waist. He restrained your hands over his head with one hand, leaving you unable to escape the pleasure he was giving you. “You can and you will. Get used to it, sweetheart. I’m being gentle right now,” He growled as he moved on top of you.
The pace was rough and fast, the bed rattling with each thrust, your boobs jiggled from the speed. He placed his hand on your lower stomach. “Do you feel me here?” He asked, the belly bulge sending shivers down your spine.
“Yes, I do, Captain.” You managed to choke out as he pounded in your pussy mercilessly.
“Then enjoy it, honey. Enjoy, writhing and moaning underneath me. My cock stretching your tight cunt, because that’s where you belong. Taking my cock like a good little fuck doll.” He husked as the force of his thrust increased with each passing second. The pain and pleasure mixing made tears fall from your eyes, the knot tightening yet again.
Steve leaned over you, kissing your tears, trailing down to your neck and then your boobs, groping and licking the plump area before taking your pebbled nipples into his hot mouth.
“Oh my god!” Your back arched, pleasure zapping through your body like thunder as his hot tongue sucked on your nipples and his hand massaged your other breast. All the while his thick cock rammed into you, his pubic areas brushing your clit.
Your hands jolted to touch him but he had your hands pinned above. You shut your eyes and enjoyed the unyielding pleasure he was bestowing upon you as pressure built up for the third time in your stomach. Your moans and his grunts bounced off the wall, so did the clapping sound of skin slapping against the skin.
Suddenly, his grasp loosened before coolness touched your ring finger. You looked up as he slid a beautiful sapphire ring into your finger, sealing your fate with his forever. You managed out a surprised gasp. He brought your hand down and pinned it to your side, giving you a proper view of the ring as it sparkled under the stark glowing moon.
“Imagine me, sweetheart,” Your breath caught in your throat as his speed grew frantic, his cock hitting the deepest part of your cunt as he chased his own release. “Imagine me when you have to romance on screen with some pitiful A-list actor.” He whispered in your ear, intertwining your hands with his as he kissed your lips. It was softer than the previous ones but no less demanding.
“Imagine me when you have to pretend to fuck someone on set. Because I know,” He whispered against your lips before lowering his hand to your clit and he drew fast circles on the bundle of nerves to help you fall apart.
Steve cursed under his breath and thrusted faster when your walls clenched his dick. “Because I know that I have ruined you for any other man. Ruined this pussy for anyone except me. So, imagine me when you kiss a man and realize that he’ll never make you feel this good.” You nodded along his words as tears streamed down your cheeks, smearing your eyeliner and mascara but he paid no heed to it. Rather, enjoying your fucked out state.
The fullness of his dick inside your pussy and the overwhelming stimulation finally tipped you over the edge as you came the hardest and it hit you like a tsunami.
After some more brutal thrust, he came inside of you with a loud groan. His hot cum spilling inside your abused cunt as it milked him dry. He pumped into you a few more times, giving you every last drop of his seed and staying inside your warm channels till his cock softened.
He put his forehead against yours as he finally pulled out and you almost whined at the loss of dick but restrained yourself as his cum leaked out of your hole.
Only heavy breaths echoed in the spacious room as both of you caught your breath. You were beyond regaining your previous strength as you couldn’t even move a muscle. However, Steve recovered shortly afterwards as he kissed your forehead and whispered smugly. “See, that wasn’t so bad, was it? I think you even enjoyed it.”
You didn’t answer because he was right, you enjoyed every bit of it even if you didn’t want to. Before you could drown yourself in self-pity. Steve picked you up and took you to his bathroom to soak you in a nice, warm bath…

“I’m so fucking done.”
You slammed the door to the pantry as Steve looked over his shoulder at you from his spot on the couch.
“Honey, what’s wrong?” His words trailed down to you as stomped down the hall and slammed the door to his room.
Steve sighed and tossed the blanket off his lap, softly padding after you down the corridor. He leaned against the doorframe before lightly knocking with the knuckle of his pointer finger.
“Hey, you alright?” He faintly heard the sliding of his dresser drawers, frantically paired with the sound of clanging hangers in his closet.
Steve opened the door slowly to be met with the sight of you half naked, hoodie stretched over your one arm and head, only accompanied on your body by your socks and underwear.
You grumbled and sighed before pulling the hoodie fully down over your body, looking in the mirror before ripping it off and throwing it at him. Steve didn’t flinch, catching the beige hoodie he had been given in a stylist’s attempt to take him on as a client.
Steve had many pieces of clothing like that: obscure fashion pieces gifted to him because of his celebrity status. To a normal person, they were impractical and weird. Odd shapes for an odd body. They’d only look good on someone as hot as him, broad shoulders, skinny waist, and all. Any time you’d try to put on a piece of the clothing, you felt like it hugged your curves in all the wrong ways.
You sighed, but it was deep and guttural, bordering on a scream. The way every piece of clothing, which looks so trendy and stylish on Steve, draped over your hips in a weird way, drove you nuts. The colors didn’t look as good, the shape was meant for someone else.
You flopped down on the bed, still only in your underwear, as Steve grabbed a hanger, placing the hoodie on it and hanging it back in the closet.
He walked over to you, slotting his legs in between yours which swung off the bed. He leaned forward over you until his arms framed your head, one hand on each side, careful to miss your hair that was sprawled out over the comforter.
When you opened your eyes, you were greeted by a sea of blue. You wanted to melt instantly at the care and concern that Steve’s eyes held, before you remembered why you were so upset.
You rolled on your side with a groan, hiding your face in the plush covers before Steve did his best to brush the hair out of your way.
He continued to softly rub his thumb against your temple. “Jellybean, you wanna tell me what’s going on? What’s got you so upset?”
You sighed before speaking into the blanket covering your mouth. Even Steve’s super soldier hearing couldn’t decipher the muffled sounds.
“Can you try again for me? I didn’t quite catch that.”
You turned slightly and threw your hands over your face in exasperation before peeking through your fingers at the face full of love and kindness that was always waiting on the other side.
“I’m sick of it.” It came out still muffled by your palm, but understandable this time. Steve nodded in an attempt to understand.
“Sick of what, honey? Anything I can fix? Or at least help with?” He helped you up, sitting next to you on the mattress. He attempted to pull you into his lap before your stopped him, pushing his arms off of you.
“No! Stop it, you’re the problem.”
Steve was taken aback. He would never do anything to hurt you, not even accidentally, so he had no idea where this was coming from. He cautiously continued.
“I’m really sorry, bean. What did I do?”
You shook your head before it fell into your hands, tears threatening to dampen the heels of your palms while you sniffled, sucking your emotions back in. You took a deep breath before looking up at him with red eyes.
“You know what? Actually, nothing. I’m overreacting. Forget about it. Maybe I should just go.”
You stood up and began to gather your clothes from the floor when Steve stood to stop you, holding your hands against his chest.
“Wait, Jellybean, come on. If-“
You threw down your hands, releasing them from his grip as you continued to look down at your feet.
“Quit calling me that!! That’s the problem!! I’m not a jellybean!”
His head cocked to the side in confusion. “Honey, what do you mean? I thought you liked that nickname…”
You shook your head as Steve crouched down in an attempt to meet your gaze. “No, because a jellybean would fit in your clothes and look good. And I don’t at all right now.”
Steve cautiously moved a hand to your cheek, finally able to look into your eyes. “Hey, what happened? Did someone say something to you? Did I? If I did anything to make you feel like that, I’m so sorry. You’re so perfect in every single way, what’s making you feel differently?”
His other hand went to your other cheek and you grabbed his wrists, looking down again, kicking your feet. Your next words came out as a whisper. “Everything sucks. I’m exhausted, and my eyes keep twitching because of it. I couldn’t focus to save my life today. I thought coming over here would make me feel better, and I looked in your pantry to see if you had any of the good snacks and of course you don’t because you’re Mr. Healthy! None of your clothes fit or look good on me! I mean, why do your even own half this stuff!? So many pairs of fake glasses, your eyesight’s perfect-no. Better than perfect! You make stuff that’s not even fashionable or practical look good and I’m sick of it!” You were practically yelling now, your words growing in volume the more you kept going.
Steve simply nodded, letting you vent as much as you needed to and taking it all in. He knew he didn’t have good snacks, he had asked if you wanted him to pick up your favorites when grocery shopping last week and you said ‘no, that’s not necessary. I probably shouldn’t tempt myself anyways. I’m trying to be healthier.’ He should’ve gone with his gut. He wouldn’t blame that on you, though.
He knew his clothes were ridiculous, too, but he kept them around because he thought you liked them. And he loved the way they looked on you.
He also knew the game you liked to play of ‘is it a fit or are they just hot,’ looking at the ridiculous clothes designer brands would release and judging whether or not they were high fashion, or just on a person with a nice body. He had just never thought he would be the subject of it, or that it would bring you down this much.
Steve knew you hadn’t been sleeping well for the past month, too, but hadn’t said anything. He could feel the way you tossed and turned at 3am, before you finally fell asleep again an hour later, only to be woken up shortly after by the alarm clock.
You looked up again after Steve had been quiet for too long. You let out a deep sigh. “I’m sorry, Stevie. I think I’m just taking this all out on you because you’re here. Everything but you is wrong today, and I’m taking it out on the one thing that’s here.”
You shook your head, profusely apologizing before Steve pulled you in close against his chest. He kissed the top of your head as he rubbed your back.
“Hey, hey, it’s okay. Thank you for talking to me. I’m not the enemy here. I’m your teammate. Thank you for letting me in.”
“It just isn’t fair.” You spoke into his chest before looking up into his eyes again.
“Even when you’re concerned you’re still hot, too.” You rolled your eyes before throwing your forehead back in between his firm pecs.
“Steven. Fix it.” Came out mumbled in his shirt.
Steve laughed and nodded before kissing the top of your head again. “I think I have just the thing. Hold on.”
He meant that literally. Steve stood up fully and you wrapped your legs around him, clinging like a koala, as he walked back over to the closet. The fact that he did it so effortlessly made you feel a little better about yourself, but a super soldier could probably do that with anyone.
He browsed the rack and shelves before he found what he was looking for. “Ah, here it is. They let me keep these after I had to pose as part of a construction crew for a mission. Regular people clothes. None of that high fashion bullshit.”
You laughed against his neck before he set you down on the bed. He kissed the tip of your nose before sliding a dark gray sweatshirt over your head and sinking down to his knees to pull the light gray sweatpants up your legs. They fit just how your wanted and you beamed at him.
“Better?” You nodded.
“Perfect. Thank you, Stevie.”
He gave you a wink. “Of course, jellybean. I think these fit you just right, but maybe your outfit’s missing something. I might still have the reflective vest around here somewhere, or maybe you need a good pair of fake glasses to top it off?”
You giggled and pushed his shoulder. “Absolutely not. I think the only thing that could make this better is if you had real snacks in the pantry.”
Just then, the both of you heard a knock on the door. You perked up and looked over Steve’s shoulder before raising an eyebrow at him. Steve looked back at you sheepishly.
“I think your prayers have been answered. I texted Buck and asked him to pick up your favorites the second I heard you huffing while searching through the cabinets.”
You smiled before wrapping your arms around his neck and giving him a kiss on the cheek.
“Thank you. You’re perfect, even if it’s a little infuriating how much so.”
Steve laughed and wrapped his arms around you again, carrying you towards the front door to retrieve the package. “Perfection means nothing if I can’t use it to make your life better. I love you, Jellybean.”
You smiled as he set you down on the couch and handed you a bag of snacks before cuddling close and pulling the soft throw blanket back over the two of you. You placed your hand gently on his cheek. “I love you more, Stevie.”
Bonus A/N: What’s your favorite snack/candy? I’m currently rocking with those nerds gummy clusters. So good.

The late afternoon sun hung low in the sky, casting long shadows over the college’s rugby field. It was early fall, the crispness of the air mixing with the faint scent of freshly cut grass. The clatter of cleats on the hard ground echoed across the open space, and the sound of a coach’s whistle cut sharply through the air.
Y/N stood at the sidelines, clipboard in hand, watching her father—Coach L/N—run through drills with the team. As the coach's daughter, she'd spent more time on this field than she cared to count, but it wasn’t bad. She liked the sport, even if she wasn’t on the team. The players respected her, knowing she had as much knowledge of the game as her father did, and she'd always been a presence during practice.
Her father’s voice boomed, calling out instructions to the squad as they shifted from one drill to the next, sweat pouring down their faces. Everyone was focused, pushing hard—it was that time of the year where everyone needed to prove themselves for a spot on the starting lineup.
"Alright, guys, that’s enough! Gather round!"
The team jogged over, panting as they crowded around the coach. Y/N tucked her clipboard under her arm, her eyes flicking over the group when she noticed someone she didn’t recognize. He was standing slightly off to the side, leaning down to retie his cleats, but something about him stood out.
Broad shoulders, tousled blond hair peeking out from under his helmet, and sharp blue eyes that flicked up toward her for a brief moment before looking away. He had an easy confidence about him, though he hadn’t been on the field as long as the others—definitely new.
“That’s the transfer from Brooklyn,” her dad said beside her, noticing her staring. “Steve Rogers.”
Y/N nodded, the name vaguely familiar. She’d heard rumors around campus about a hotshot rugby player who had transferred in last minute. Apparently, he was a big deal at his old school, but this was the first time she’d actually seen him in person.
“Steve, over here!" Her dad called him over, and Steve straightened up, jogged the few feet separating them, his eyes locking with Y/N’s as he approached. Up close, he was taller than she’d realized, and his expression held a mixture of politeness and curiosity as he glanced between her and the coach.
“Steve, this is Y/N,” Coach L/N introduced, nodding toward her. “My daughter. She helps out with the team sometimes. Keeps us all in line.” There was a teasing tone in her father’s voice, but the pride was clear.
Steve offered a small smile, one that lit up his eyes. “Nice to meet you.” His voice was deeper than she expected, a soft Brooklyn accent coloring his words.
Y/N smiled back, a little flustered by the intensity of his gaze. “Nice to meet you too. I’ve heard you’re pretty good on the field.”
Steve chuckled, rubbing the back of his neck. “I try.”
“Well, if my dad lets you on the team, I’m sure you’ll fit in just fine.”
Her dad rolled his eyes, already turning back toward the rest of the players. “Alright, enough chit-chat. Steve, get back with the boys! We’ll see what you’ve got.”
Steve gave a quick nod and jogged back to the team, but not before throwing one last look over his shoulder at Y/N. There was something unspoken in his glance—maybe curiosity, maybe intrigue—and she couldn’t help but feel a little flutter of nerves in her stomach.
It wasn’t often that someone new caught her attention on the rugby field, but there was something different about Steve Rogers. Something she couldn’t quite place.
As the practice continued, Y/N found her eyes drawn to him every now and then. His form was impeccable, his movements sharp and controlled. He was strong, that was obvious, but there was a gracefulness to how he played, almost effortless.
Her father had been watching Steve, too, nodding his approval every now and then. By the time practice ended, it was clear Steve was going to be a valuable addition to the team.
The players started heading off to the locker rooms, but Steve lingered a moment, catching Y/N’s eye once more as she gathered up her things.
“You staying around for next practice?” he asked, a hint of a smile tugging at the corner of his lips.
“Maybe,” she replied, her own smile growing. “Depends if you’re worth watching.”
Steve laughed softly, his eyes twinkling. “Guess I’ll have to keep proving myself then.”
With a small wave, he headed off, leaving Y/N standing on the sidelines, a smile still playing on her lips.
The weeks that followed were a whirlwind of practices, games, and long afternoons spent on the rugby field. Steve quickly became a star on the team, just as everyone expected. His natural athleticism and leadership on the field made him a perfect fit. The team had gelled around him fast, and the coach was thrilled with his performance—though that didn’t stop Y/N’s father from pushing him even harder than the others.
And then there were the moments off the field.
Every practice, Steve seemed to find some excuse to talk to Y/N. At first, it was casual—small talk after practice, a few jokes shared while gathering equipment, or a friendly wave when their eyes met across the field. But soon, it started to feel like more than just passing conversations. He’d linger after everyone else had gone, catching her before she left or inviting her to walk with him toward the parking lot.
Y/N didn’t mind. In fact, she looked forward to their chats. There was something about Steve—despite his rugged appearance and commanding presence on the field—that felt so down-to-earth and real. He made her laugh in ways she hadn’t in a while, and his Brooklyn charm was hard to resist.
But her dad wasn’t oblivious.
Coach L/N had noticed the subtle changes, the way Steve’s eyes would drift toward Y/N during practice or how his smile always seemed a little wider when she was around. At first, he ignored it, chalking it up to a friendly dynamic. But after a few more practices, he started getting a little… protective.
It started small. Her father would call Steve out for minor things on the field—things he probably wouldn’t have mentioned otherwise.
"Rogers, stay focused," Coach barked during one practice when Steve glanced over at Y/N after scoring a try. Steve's brows furrowed in confusion, but he nodded and went back to the drill.
Then, there were the glares. Every time Steve was nearby, talking to Y/N or even laughing with her, her dad’s eyes would narrow ever so slightly. At first, Y/N thought she was imagining it, but even Steve had started noticing.
“Does your dad hate me, or is it just my imagination?” Steve asked one evening as they walked toward the locker room. His voice was light, but there was a hint of seriousness beneath the joke.
Y/N chuckled, shaking her head. “He’s just… protective, especially when it comes to me. He probably thinks you’re too much of a distraction.”
Steve raised an eyebrow, a smirk tugging at his lips. “Am I?”
Y/N rolled her eyes, but she couldn’t help the smile spreading across her face. “Maybe a little.”
They paused near the entrance to the locker room, the evening sun casting a warm, golden light around them. The sounds of the team inside were distant now, muffled by the thick walls of the building. For a moment, it was just the two of them, standing close enough that she could feel the heat radiating off his skin.
Steve's blue eyes flickered over her face, lingering on her lips before meeting her gaze again. "Well, I don’t mind a little distraction."
Her heart fluttered in her chest, the teasing in his voice making her breath hitch. He leaned slightly closer, just enough to make the space between them feel smaller, more charged.
Y/N swallowed, feeling the tension crackling in the air. She had felt it for weeks now—the growing connection between them, the unspoken attraction that simmered just beneath the surface. But this moment was different. It felt like they were standing on the edge of something more.
Just then, the door to the locker room swung open, and her father stepped out, eyes immediately landing on the two of them.
"Steve, you still here?" Her dad’s voice was sharp, his expression unreadable. But Y/N didn’t miss the brief glare he shot Steve’s way before turning his attention to her.
"Y/N, we’re heading home in a few minutes. You coming?"
Steve took a small step back, clearing his throat. "Yeah, Coach. I was just, uh… heading in."
Her father nodded, but there was something in his gaze that made Y/N’s stomach twist with awkwardness. As Steve turned to go, her dad’s eyes flicked back to her, brow furrowing.
"You two seem to be getting pretty friendly."
Y/N crossed her arms, tilting her head at her father. "Dad, it’s nothing. We’re just talking. Besides, you’re always pushing the team to bond, right? Steve’s no different."
Her father sighed, rubbing the back of his neck. "I know, I know… but Steve’s new. You don’t know him like the others."
Y/N raised an eyebrow, sensing the real issue. "Is that what this is about? Or is this just you being protective because he’s… you know, him?"
Coach L/N gave her a look, the protective dad look. “Look, Y/N, I’m just saying… don’t get too close. He’s focused on the game, and I don’t want things getting complicated.”
Y/N rolled her eyes again, though this time with less humor. "I’m not a kid, Dad. I can handle myself."
Her father exhaled sharply, clearly torn. “I know. Just… be careful, okay?”
“Okay,” she said softly, offering him a small smile to ease his concern.
Her father gave her a brief nod before heading off, leaving Y/N standing there, the echoes of the conversation lingering in her mind. She knew her dad meant well, but the connection with Steve… it wasn’t something she could easily dismiss.
The following days were a mixture of thrilling tension and underlying awkwardness. Steve, still as charming as ever, seemed to tread lightly whenever her father was nearby, though his lingering glances and soft smiles were still there. And Y/N found herself drawn to him more and more, the weight of her dad’s protective stance feeling like a storm cloud hanging over them.
After one particularly grueling practice, Steve found Y/N sitting on the bleachers, scrolling through her clipboard. He jogged over, a grin plastered across his face.
“Hey, you free after this? Thought we could grab a coffee.”
Y/N hesitated, glancing over at the field where her dad was talking to some of the players. She bit her lip, then met Steve’s gaze. “I’d like that… but my dad—”
Steve laughed softly, cutting her off. “Your dad will get over it.”
Y/N laughed, shaking her head. “You say that now, but wait till he glares at you again.”
He took a step closer, leaning down just enough so their faces were only inches apart. “I can handle a few glares,” he murmured, his voice low and teasing.
Her heart skipped a beat, and for the briefest moment, she thought he might kiss her. But then he straightened up, offering her his hand to help her stand.
“Come on, let’s see if we can get out of here before your dad sends out a search party.”
Y/N smiled, her heart racing as she took his hand, feeling the warmth of his fingers wrapping around hers.
The rugby team had won the big game, and the adrenaline still buzzed in Steve’s veins as he stepped into the frat house. The place was packed, music pulsing from the speakers, red solo cups in hand, and the air thick with excitement. The team was on a high, celebrating the victory with their usual wild energy, and the whole campus seemed to have turned out for the party.
Steve had been to a few parties since transferring, but this one felt different. Maybe it was because of the win, or maybe because his eyes kept drifting to one particular person in the room.
Y/N.
He spotted her as soon as he walked in. She was standing near the drinks table, laughing with a group of friends, and for the first time, Steve saw her out of the usual sweatpants and hoodie. She wore a fitted shirt that hugged her in all the right places, paired with jeans that accentuated her curves, and her hair was loose, falling in soft waves around her shoulders.
He wasn’t sure if it was the adrenaline from the game, or maybe the way she lit up when she laughed, but seeing her like that made something in Steve’s chest tighten.
"Damn," he muttered to himself, running a hand through his hair.
"Yeah, you’re screwed, man." Sam, one of his teammates, appeared at his side, giving him a knowing grin. “You’ve got it bad for her.”
Steve shot him a look, trying to play it off. “I don’t know what you’re talking about.”
“Sure, you don’t,” Sam teased, patting Steve on the back before heading off into the crowd.
Steve sighed, shaking his head, but his gaze drifted back to Y/N. She caught his eye for a second, her lips curling into a smile as she waved him over. He hesitated for a moment, then made his way through the crowd toward her.
“Hey, captain!” she called, teasing him as he approached. “Good game.”
“Thanks,” Steve said, smiling as he grabbed a drink from the table. “You watched?”
“Of course. Couldn’t miss your debut as the campus hero.” She nudged him playfully, her eyes sparkling.
Before Steve could respond, the rest of the team joined them, a group of guys and girls from the rugby squad already half-drunk and buzzing from the win. Bucky, Steve’s best friend, grinned mischievously as he threw an arm around Steve’s shoulder.
“Hey, we’re starting a game in the living room. You two are coming, right?”
“What game?” Y/N asked, raising an eyebrow, though she was already being pulled along with the rest of the group.
Bucky smirked. “Truth or Dare.”
Y/N rolled her eyes. “That’s so middle school.”
“Exactly. It’s gonna be fun,” Bucky said with a grin. “Besides, we’ve got some good dares lined up.”
Steve laughed softly, catching the gleam in Bucky’s eye. He had a bad feeling about where this was going, but when Y/N shrugged and said, “Why not? Let’s see what you’ve got,” he found himself agreeing too.
The group gathered in the living room, sprawled out on couches and the floor, the vibe easy and relaxed. Steve ended up sitting next to Y/N, their knees brushing slightly as they settled into the circle. Bucky sat across from them, a devilish grin on his face as he spun the empty beer bottle in the center of the circle.
“Alright, let’s kick this off,” Bucky announced. The bottle landed on Sam first, and the dares started out simple—chugging drinks, making prank calls, the usual college party antics. But it didn’t take long for things to shift.
The bottle spun again, this time landing on Y/N.
“Truth or dare?” Bucky asked, leaning forward with a gleam in his eye.
Y/N hesitated, but the competitive side in her won out. “Dare.”
Bucky’s grin widened. “I dare you to sit on Steve’s lap for the rest of the round.”
The group burst out laughing, and Y/N’s cheeks flushed pink. She shot a mock glare at Bucky. “Seriously?”
“Rules are rules,” Bucky said with a shrug, though he was clearly enjoying every second.
Steve shifted slightly, trying to seem nonchalant even though his heart was suddenly racing. He caught Y/N’s eye, offering her a lopsided smile. “You don’t have to if you don’t want to.”
Y/N bit her lip, the playful glint in her eyes betraying her shyness. “It’s fine. Just a game, right?”
She stood up, stepping over to Steve and gingerly sitting on his lap. He felt the warmth of her body immediately, her weight settling against him as she tried to find a comfortable position. It was awkward, but also… nice. His hands instinctively went to her waist, barely resting there as the group continued to laugh and joke around them.
Y/N leaned back slightly, her back pressing against Steve’s chest. She turned her head, her lips close to his ear as she whispered, “This is so stupid.”
Steve chuckled softly, his breath catching at how close she was. “Yeah, but it’s kind of fun.”
They both fell into a quiet, comfortable silence as the game continued. But then, a few minutes later, the bottle spun again—this time landing on Steve.
“Truth or dare, Rogers?” one of the guys called out.
Steve didn’t hesitate. “Dare.”
Bucky exchanged a glance with Sam, a smirk playing on his lips. “Alright, we dare you to kiss Y/N. Right here. On the lips.”
The group erupted into laughter again, some of the guys cheering, and Y/N’s face turned crimson. She shot Bucky a glare, but he just shrugged innocently.
Y/N shifted in Steve’s lap, turning to face him slightly, her heart pounding. Steve’s face was red too, but there was a soft smile tugging at his lips. He leaned in closer, his breath warm against her skin as his hand gently cupped her cheek.
“You okay with this?” he asked softly, his voice low enough that only she could hear.
Y/N’s stomach flipped, her nerves a mess, but there was something about the way Steve was looking at her that made her feel safe. She nodded slowly, her eyes meeting his. “Yeah.”
Without another word, Steve closed the distance between them, his lips brushing against hers in a soft, lingering kiss. It was brief—just long enough to send sparks racing through her body—but when he pulled back, Y/N felt like the whole world had shifted.
The group cheered again, and Y/N, flustered, buried her face in her hands, laughing despite herself.
“Well, that was… something,” she said, her voice muffled by her hands.
Steve laughed too, his hand still resting on her waist. “Yeah. Something.”
For the rest of the game, it seemed like every dare had something to do with the two of them—holding hands, giving each other compliments, and, at one point, Y/N had to feed Steve a piece of pizza. It was clear the team had caught on to whatever was brewing between them, and they weren’t shy about pushing it.
By the time the game ended, the tension between Y/N and Steve was undeniable, and she wasn’t sure if it was the game or just the fact that they had been dancing around this for weeks.
As the night wound down and people started to leave, Steve caught Y/N’s hand, pulling her aside into a quieter corner of the house.
“Hey,” he said softly, his thumb gently brushing over her knuckles. “I know the game was just for fun, but… I’ve been meaning to ask you if you wanted to go out sometime. Like, on a real date. If you’re interested.”
Y/N’s heart skipped a beat, her smile widening. “Yeah. I’d like that.”
Steve grinned, his eyes lighting up. “Great. I’ll text you?”
She nodded, feeling a warmth spread through her chest. “Sounds perfect.”
As they stood there, the noise of the party fading into the background, Y/N couldn’t help but think that maybe the team’s little matchmaking game had worked out after all.
The week leading up to their date was a blur of nervous anticipation. Y/N found herself replaying the kiss they’d shared at the party more times than she cared to admit, and she couldn’t help but wonder if Steve had done the same. Every time they crossed paths on campus or at practice, there was an undeniable tension between them—charged looks, teasing smiles, fleeting touches that left her heart racing.
The night of their date finally arrived, and Y/N felt a mix of excitement and nerves as she stood in front of her mirror. She’d chosen a casual but flattering outfit—something that said she wasn’t trying too hard but still made her feel confident. A soft, fitted sweater paired with jeans that hugged her curves just right. She took a deep breath, smoothing her hair one last time before heading out.
Steve had offered to pick her up, and when she opened the door to her apartment, he was standing there with that easy smile that made her stomach flip. He looked good—too good, in fact. His jeans fit him perfectly, and the dark shirt he wore stretched across his broad chest and shoulders in a way that made it hard to focus on anything else.
“Hey,” he said, his voice soft as he gave her an appreciative once-over. “You look… amazing.”
Y/N smiled, feeling her cheeks warm. “Thanks. You clean up pretty well yourself.”
He chuckled, scratching the back of his neck as he held out his hand. “Ready?”
They’d decided to keep things simple for their first date—dinner at a cozy little restaurant near campus followed by a walk around the city. But even as they sat across from each other at the restaurant, sharing stories and laughing over their plates of pasta, the undercurrent of tension between them was impossible to ignore.
Steve’s eyes lingered on her lips whenever she laughed, and every time his hand brushed against hers on the table, a spark shot through her. It was like the air between them was charged, thick with unspoken desire. And as the night went on, the playful flirting they’d started with grew heavier, more intense.
After dinner, they walked along the quiet streets, the cool night air swirling around them. Steve’s hand found its way to hers, his fingers intertwining with hers as they walked. The conversation flowed easily, but there was something electric in the silence between words, in the way their eyes met and held just a little too long.
They ended up near a park, the glow of streetlights casting soft shadows around them. The streets were nearly empty, the city quiet as they found a bench to sit on, just off the beaten path. Y/N settled beside Steve, their shoulders touching as they sat in comfortable silence, the sounds of the distant city fading away.
Steve turned toward her, his thumb tracing light circles over the back of her hand as he looked at her with a soft, unreadable expression. “You know, I’ve been thinking about you a lot,” he admitted quietly, his voice low and rough in the cool night air.
Y/N’s breath hitched, her heart pounding in her chest. “Yeah? What have you been thinking?”
Steve’s gaze dropped to her lips for a moment before flicking back up to her eyes. “About that kiss. About how I’ve been wanting to do it again.”
Her pulse quickened, the heat between them building as the words hung in the air. She leaned in slightly, her voice barely above a whisper. “Then why don’t you?”
Steve didn’t need any more encouragement. In one smooth motion, he closed the distance between them, his hand coming up to cup the back of her neck as his lips met hers. The kiss was different this time—deeper, more intense. There was no crowd around them, no game, no laughter from their friends. It was just the two of them, and the fire that had been simmering between them for weeks finally ignited.
Y/N’s hand slid up his chest, feeling the warmth of his skin through his shirt as she leaned into him, her body pressing against his. Steve responded instantly, his arms wrapping around her waist and pulling her closer, until she was practically sitting in his lap. His lips moved against hers with a hunger that matched her own, and the world around them seemed to disappear.
The kiss deepened, growing more heated with each passing second. Steve’s hands roamed, one sliding up her back, the other resting firmly on her hip as he pulled her even closer. Y/N’s fingers tangled in his hair, her breath coming in short, ragged gasps between kisses. Every touch, every brush of his lips against hers sent a surge of heat through her, and she found herself craving more.
Steve’s lips left hers for a moment, trailing down to her jaw, then her neck, where he pressed soft, teasing kisses that made her shiver. Y/N tilted her head back, giving him better access as her hands gripped his shoulders, her heart pounding in her chest.
“Steve…” she breathed, her voice barely audible as he kissed a sensitive spot just below her ear, sending a wave of heat pooling low in her stomach.
He pulled back slightly, his breathing just as ragged as hers, his blue eyes dark with desire as they met hers. “You okay?” he asked, his voice low and husky.
Y/N nodded, her lips curling into a breathless smile. “More than okay.”
Steve grinned, his thumb brushing over her cheek as he leaned in to kiss her again, slower this time, but no less intense. The kiss was full of promises—of everything that could come later, of everything they both wanted but weren’t quite ready to rush into just yet.
Eventually, they pulled apart, both of them breathless and flushed. Steve rested his forehead against hers, his hands still holding her close as they sat in the quiet park, the tension between them simmering but not overwhelming.
“I’ve wanted to do that since the first time I saw you on the field,” Steve admitted with a soft chuckle, his breath warm against her skin.
Y/N laughed, her fingers still playing with the hair at the nape of his neck. “I’ve been waiting for you to do it since that stupid truth or dare game.”
Steve smiled, his thumb tracing lazy circles on her hip as he leaned in to kiss her forehead. “Well, now that we’ve got that out of the way… how about we head back to your place? Watch a movie or something?”
Y/N bit her lip, her heart racing at the suggestion. She knew exactly what he meant by “or something,” and the idea sent a thrill through her. But she also liked the way they were taking their time, savoring the slow build of tension, letting things unfold naturally.
“Yeah,” she said softly, her eyes meeting his. “I’d like that.”
With a final lingering kiss, they stood up, hands still intertwined as they made their way back toward campus, the night stretched out before them, full of possibilities.
The door to Y/N’s apartment clicked shut as she and Steve stepped inside, the quiet hum of the city outside fading away. The soft glow from a few scattered lamps lit up the cozy living room, but neither of them paid much attention to their surroundings. The air between them was thick with unspoken desire, the kind that had been building for weeks and was now ready to erupt.
Y/N barely had a chance to kick off her shoes before Steve’s hands were on her, pulling her close. His lips found hers again, just as hungry as they’d been in the park, but now with a deeper urgency. She responded in kind, her fingers tugging at his shirt, her body pressing against his as they stumbled toward her bedroom.
Steve lifted her effortlessly, his strong arms holding her as she wrapped her legs around his waist. Their kisses were heated, breathless, the sound of their soft moans filling the small space as they tumbled onto her bed. Clothes were shed with a kind of frantic need, leaving them bare to each other in the dim light.
It was a night full of passion—skin on skin, lips tracing each other’s bodies, whispered words that were quickly lost in the haze of desire. They moved together as if they had known each other far longer than a few weeks, their connection undeniable, their chemistry electric. Every touch, every kiss, was an exploration, a discovery of each other that left them breathless and wanting more.
By the time they finally fell asleep, tangled in each other’s arms, the early morning light was already creeping through the curtains. It had been a night neither of them would forget.
The next morning, Y/N woke up to the sound of clattering from the kitchen. She stretched lazily in bed, her muscles deliciously sore from the night before. A slow smile spread across her face as she glanced down at herself—she was wearing Steve’s shirt, the fabric soft and slightly too big on her. It smelled like him, all clean soap and something uniquely Steve, and it sent a warm feeling coursing through her.
Curious, she slipped out of bed and padded barefoot into the kitchen, her heart skipping a beat when she saw Steve. He was standing at the stove, his back to her, wearing nothing but his boxers, his broad shoulders and back on full display as he worked on what looked like breakfast. The sight was domestic and unexpectedly sweet, making her smile grow.
“Morning,” Y/N said, her voice still thick with sleep as she leaned against the kitchen counter, her arms crossed. “What’s all this?”
Steve turned, a spatula in hand, and grinned when he saw her. “Good morning, beautiful. I thought I’d make you breakfast. Figured it’s the least I could do after…” His eyes traveled over her, and a playful smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth. “Last night.”
Y/N felt her cheeks flush, but she couldn’t help the grin that spread across her face. “You’re pretty good in the kitchen for a rugby captain.”
“And outside of it too, if I remember last night correctly,” Steve teased, his tone low and full of mischief as he flipped a pancake.
She rolled her eyes, though her heart fluttered. “You’re terrible.”
“Just trying to impress the coach’s daughter,” he said with a wink, turning back to the stove.
Y/N laughed, settling herself on the kitchen stool, her legs swinging idly as she watched Steve work. The smell of pancakes and bacon filled the air, and everything felt so easy, so perfect in that moment. She hadn’t felt this comfortable around someone in a long time.
Just as Steve was plating the pancakes, there was a sudden loud noise at the front door—the sound of a key turning in the lock.
Y/N’s eyes widened in horror as the door swung open, and in walked her dad. Her dad, Coach of the rugby team, holding a newspaper in one hand and a coffee cup in the other, completely unaware of what he was about to walk into.
“Oh shit,” Y/N muttered under her breath, panic flooding her as she shot up from the stool.
Steve turned toward the door, his eyes widening as he froze, spatula still in hand.
There, standing in the doorway, was Y/N’s dad—mid-sentence as he walked in. “Hey, Y/N, I figured I’d stop by to—” His voice trailed off as he took in the scene in front of him: Y/N, sitting at the kitchen island wearing nothing but Steve’s shirt, and Steve—standing in front of the stove, in just his boxers, holding a spatula like a deer caught in headlights.
The silence that followed was deafening.
Y/N’s dad blinked, his eyes narrowing as he registered exactly what he was seeing. His gaze flicked from Y/N to Steve, his expression hardening as realization dawned. His grip on the coffee cup tightened, and Y/N could have sworn she saw his eye twitch.
“Dad,” Y/N started, her voice high-pitched, trying to keep things light, though her heart was racing. “What are you doing here?”
Her dad didn’t answer right away. Instead, his eyes locked onto Steve, who still hadn’t moved. The tension in the room was thick enough to cut with a knife, and Y/N felt her stomach drop as her father’s mouth pressed into a tight line.
“Well, I didn’t expect to find this when I came over to check on you,” he said, his voice low and calm, but there was an unmistakable edge to it.
Steve, finally snapping out of his frozen state, cleared his throat, carefully putting the spatula down. “Coach, uh… I can explain.”
Y/N’s dad raised an eyebrow, crossing his arms over his chest. “Oh, I’m sure you can. But I don’t think I want to hear it.”
Y/N wanted the ground to swallow her whole. She quickly stood up, stepping toward her dad in an attempt to diffuse the situation. “Dad, listen—”
“No, Y/N, I’m not mad at you,” her dad interrupted, though his eyes never left Steve. “But this… this is unexpected.”
Steve, ever the soldier, stepped forward, trying to keep his composure despite the fact that he was standing half-naked in front of his coach. “I swear, sir, it’s not what it looks like.”
Y/N’s dad gave him a flat look. “Really? Because it looks like my daughter is wearing your shirt, and you’re cooking breakfast in your underwear.”
Steve opened his mouth to respond, but no words came out. He was at a loss, and Y/N could see how badly he was trying to keep things together. She almost felt sorry for him. Almost.
Her dad let out a long sigh, shaking his head. “You know, Rogers, you’ve been a damn good player since you transferred, and I had high hopes for you this season.”
Steve swallowed nervously. “Thank you, sir. I appreciate that.”
“Don’t thank me yet,” her dad continued, his voice calm but firm. “Because after this little display, you’re benched for the next two games.”
“What?!” Y/N blurted out, her eyes wide as she stepped between them. “Dad, come on—he didn’t do anything wrong!”
Her dad didn’t budge. “He broke the number one rule. No dating the coach’s daughter.”
“Dad!” Y/N groaned, her cheeks burning in embarrassment. “That’s not even a real rule!”
“It is now,” he said, giving Steve a hard look. “Two games, Rogers. Maybe next time you’ll think twice before…” He gestured vaguely to the two of them, his expression unimpressed. “…making pancakes in your underwear in my daughter’s apartment.”
Steve winced but nodded. “Understood, sir.”
Y/N couldn’t help but groan in frustration, burying her face in her hands. This was not how she had envisioned the morning going.
Her dad sighed, looking at Y/N with a softened expression. “I’ll talk to you later, kiddo. But next time, maybe give me a heads-up before I walk into something like this.”
Y/N could only nod, mortified beyond belief as her dad turned and walked out the door, leaving Steve and Y/N standing in stunned silence.
After a moment, Steve let out a long breath, running a hand through his hair as he glanced over at Y/N. “Well… that was something.”
Y/N dropped her hands, shaking her head in disbelief. “I’m so sorry. I can’t believe that just happened.”
Steve gave her a small, sheepish smile. “I guess this means no more pancakes in my boxers?”
Y/N snorted, despite herself, stepping into his arms and resting her head against his chest. “Yeah… probably not the best idea.”
Steve chuckled, pressing a kiss to the top of her head. “On the bright side, we’ve got two weeks free to spend together.”
She looked up at him, a smile tugging at her lips. “You’re taking this pretty well, considering you just got benched.”
Steve grinned, his arms tightening around her. “Hey, for you? I’d sit out the whole season.”
Y/N laughed, rolling her eyes. “You’re ridiculous.”
“Maybe,” Steve said, leaning down to kiss her softly. “But I’m ridiculous about you.”
And just like that, the tension melted away, leaving them in the warm, quiet aftermath of what would undoubtedly be a story they’d laugh about for years to come.
my boy Steve deserves more recognition!! So don't forget to leave a like, a reblog and a follow if you want to read more of my works!

tfatws! bucky barnes x fem!maximoff! reader
he was red, and he liked me because I was blue
word count: 2k | warnings: vaguely follows the mcu timeline, set during tfatws, semi-slow burn, multiple parts, bucky is pining
Being a powered individual in today's society was tough. Being one of the Avengers to take the side of Steve Rogers during the Sokovia Accords was even harder.
It was hard not to envy Clint and Scott, both out on house arrest. You'd kill to have that. Instead, you were country-hopping with your sister, Natasha, Sam, and Steve. Sure, it wasn't so bad, but it wasn't the home you'd been searching for your whole life.
After the blip, being gone for ten years, and helping Wanda adjust to her new life without Vision was the roughest few months you'd experienced since Ultron and Pietro's death. Wanda was nearly robotic for a whole month; it took weeks to crack her. After a few more weeks, she became a whole kidnapper of an entire town, holding them all hostage. That was pretty rough, too. The hardest part, however, was finally putting yourself back out there using your powers.
You'd left that life behind after you came back, after Thanos was gone. Maybe it was time to rebuild who you were as a person rather than who you were with your powers. Even when Wanda took over Westview, you'd managed to scrape by without hardly using your powers.
That all went down the drain the second you saw Sam give up the shield, it now being held to some John Walker guy. You had a gut feeling this would come back to bite you in the ass, somehow. Of course, your intuition was right.
Sam called you in a panic, Bucky had been arrested for missing his therapy session, and he didn't know what to do. So, you were quick to make your way to where Bucky was being held in New York. You lived in the country side, so one very quickly driven car ride and you were there.
The second you burst in, you eyes found Sam immediately. Your pace was quick as you made your way over to him. "Sam," You breathed out as he enveloped you in a hug. "Are you okay?"
"Yeah," Sam replied, giving you a small squeeze. He pulled back, his hands still on your biceps. "I saw what happened in Westview, I'm sorry-"
Your hand came up quickly, halting him from continuing. "It's really okay. It was a whole magic thing, I couldn't see your little birdie wings helping too much, but thank you." Sam rolled his eyes at your comment, but nodded regardless. "Have you seen Bucky?" You asked, sitting in the seat next to his.
Sam shook his head, "No, they won't tell me shit. It's freakin' me out."
It was just then a women, soon to be introduced as Bucky's therapist, walked over. The second she said it wasn't her to bail out Bucky, your heart stopped when you saw John Walker in person.
When Bucky was escorted into the room, his eyes quickly fell on you. He was surprised to see you there. You'd interacted with him a couple of times, and surprisingly, Bucky was fond of you. He remembered asking Steve about you before the fight in Germany. The first time he saw your powers, well that was a whole new story. The way you held yourself, the kindness you had in your heart, despite being experimented on by Hydra, was just perplexing to him. He was just appalled at the person you were, and that isn't even mentioning the fact that you might've just been the prettiest woman he'd ever seen. The first time you saw him was the lasting impression for Bucky. Without any ounce of hesitation, you approached him, hand out for him to shake. You introduced yourself with a soft voice and kind smile to compliment. No one had done that for him in a long time. Seeing you now, after all that had happened, you had this maturity, this grown beauty to you, and Bucky felt himself becoming astounded all over again.
The first thing you thought? Damn, he looked good.
Bucky's therapist quickly pulled Sam and Bucky into a final session, now allowing them to say a word to you until it was over. You found yourself walking outside a few minutes later, tired of waiting. Your long sleeved shirt becoming too thin to keep you warm due to the chill in the air. You saw him, John, and his friend standing by a cop car.
"Maximoff," John called the moment he spotted you, "Come here, let's chat."
You begrudgingly made your way over, dread washing over you. "Walker," You greeted.
"Woah, didn't expect an American accent," John exclaimed. "Sounds good, really natural."
His words led you to stare at him blankly for a moment. "Why'd you bail out Bucky?" You wanted to get straight to the point. Chit-chat with Walker was not something that interested you.
"Look, I don't know what all Wilson told you, but we have super soldier terrorists on our hands." Walker explained, "And we need help taking them out."
Eyebrows raised, you replied, "Take them out? That's your plan?"
Walker nodded, "That's the plan so far,"
"That's the shittiest plan I've ever heard of in my life." You retorted. "Whatever you want with me? I'm with Sam and Bucky."
The look on Walker's face was honestly priceless. "They're going the roundabout way, nothing they're doing is legal."
With a small laugh, you held your hands up. "Are you kidding me? Do you even know me? I literally fought Iron Man against the Sokovia Accords, which no longer exist, by the way. Technically, we still have jurisdiction wherever the Avengers so please."
"You fought Iron Man to, what, become locked up again?" Walker taunted. Of course he would become a man-child when things didn't go his way. "It was probably for a best. You and that devil-sister of yours are nothing but a liability and danger to-" John was cut off with your fist colliding with his cheek. The loud thud of the impact made John's friend whip out a gun, to which you grabbed with your powers, holding it out of his reach.
"Hey," You whipped your head around to see Sam and Bucky making their way over to you. You dropped the gun, the blue of your powers fading into nothing as you cradled your fist in your other hand, stepping to the side as Sam and Bucky stood next to you. "Whatever you said, you probably deserved that."
John massaged the area you punched as he stood up from his kneeling position. "I was just explaining that if we divide ourselves, we don’t stand a chance, you guys know that."
"So what do you got?" Sam rolled his eyes as he spoke.
"Well, the leader’s name’s Karli Morgenthau. We’ve been targeting civilians who’ve been helping Karli move from place to place." Walker explained.
Walker's friend spoke up, "They geotagged a location, then scrambled the signal. But our satellites have found their symbol popping up in various displaced communities all across Central and Eastern Europe."
The second the conversation ended, you were the first to turn on your heel and walk away, Bucky and Sam right behind you.
"Well isn't he just a delight?" You remarked, a scoff following. "Is it true? They're super soldiers?"
Sam nodded, "Yeah, and they're killing innocent people for their cause."
"Okay, so what do we do now?" You asked, turning around as the two men pasued.
"You saying your getting your ass involved?" Sam asked, a small smirk on his lips.
You sighed, "As much as I loved retirement, there's just too much going on right now to sit idly by."
"Then welcome to the team," Bucky replied sarcastically, but it was companied with a smile. Sam was quick to wrap an arm around your shoulder as the three of you began to walk. "I didn't know you could punch like that." Bucky pointed out.
With a shrug, you answered, "Well, let's just say I'm very rusty with it. I'm gonna get a bruise for sure."
As the three of you walked, Bucky spoke up from a small pause of silence. "Walker doesn’t have any leads..."
Sam gave him a look, "I know where you're going with this, no."
"He knows all of Hydra's secrets. Don’t you remember Siberia?" Bucky replied as you gave him a confused look.
"So you’re just gonna go sit in a room with this guy?" Sam asked.
Bucky hesitated, "Yes,"
"Okay, then. We’re gonna go see Zemo." Sam replied.
You did a double take at his words, "Baron Zemo?" You asked. "The Sokovian guy who basically set us all up, Baron Zemo?"
"Yeah, that one." Bucky responded. "I know you may not like him, but-"
"No, no!" You cut him off quickly. "This could be good. I'm Sokovian, maybe he'll be lenient if I help."
Sam shrugged, "It isn't a bad idea."
"How are we gonna get there?" You questioned. "We can't just exaclty fly commercial."
"We have a plane," Sam said.
The moment you stepped in, you shook your head, "This isn't a plane, this is a death trap." Bucky chuckled at your words. "Who's flying this thing, anyways?"
Quickly, a young man stepped out. "Oh, hi! I didn't know we were bringing-" His eyes widened at the sight of you. "You- Oh, wow. Hi, I'm such a fan of you."
You gave a small smile, "Thank you..."
"Torres! I'm Torres," The man replied, shaking your hand quickly. "And I'll be your pilot today."
Bucky felt his chest tighten at the boy's words. He quickly stepped next to you, "Funny," Bucky commented as Torres gave a nervous look, stepping back into the cockpit.
"He do that to every Avenger he meets?" You asked Bucky, looking up at him to meet his eyes.
"Just the ones he finds pretty," Bucky chided, his voice a mutter.
You chuckled, "Glad to hear someone thinks that." Your joke didn't fully register to Bucky as he gave you a bewildered look.
"Don't say that, you're beautiful," His gruff voice spoke out.
You took a seat in one of the seats, Bucky taking the space next to you. "My powers are what people think's beautiful, or they're scared of it. Or both."
"Well they're all stupid," Bucky decided, his voice still a mere mutter. "You aren't scary, and your whole being is beautiful, they just don't know you."
The swell of your heart caught your attention at his words. "Thank you," Your voice was a mutter back, the feeling of heat creeping up your neck as Sam walked in.
"Alright, we ready for our flight?" He asked as you both nodded. He sat opposite of you both. "It's late, let's try and get some rest before we land. It's been a hell of a day."
You had to wonder what kind of a day they'd had besides the whole arresting part, but left that thought in the back of your mind. Sam leaned his head back. It was clear he was going to fall asleep really quickly.
"Thank you for coming with us," Bucky remarked as he looked over to you. "This is a shit show we've gotten ourselves into."
A small laugh found its way out of your mouth, "Trust me, I've been through much worse than just some super soldiers and a pretend Captain America."
"I heard about what happened," Bucky commented. "Are you okay?"
No one had yet to ask you that. You paused before answering, "I think I am. Somehow, I think it helped Wanda. And now, we have a rouge Vision flying around somewhere in the world. She's off searching for him as we speak."
Bucky nodded, and you wondered if he'd ask about how Vision is alive again, but with him clearly watching the news, he probably already knew. "You think she'll find him?"
"I do," You confirmed. "Love always finds its way back together."
Your head was leaned back, eyes closed. You missed the longing look in Bucky's eyes as he stared at you. "Yeah, it does."

6,198 words.
As Steve stepped through the airlock into the dim-lit containment room, you untangled yourself from the tangled sheets on the king size bed. The air condition was blasting but despite that, the only thing you had on was a white, thin t-shirt type hospital gown that was not doing a damn thing to hide your peaking nipples. It fell onto your mid-thigh, and while under some other circumstances, it might’ve been reasonably modest, right now it clung onto your damp skin tighter than a bathing suit as you moved to sit on your knees on the bed. There was a feverish glaze clouding your eyes as Steve locked the airlock door behind himself. Other than the bed and a small desk with a chair, there was a table loaded with water bottles and some fruit and protein bars you had obviously not even touched. The muted color scheme – a neutral combination of blues, greys and whites made the room feel like a hotel room or a set in a movie. The bed you sat on was a small ocean of tangled satin sheets, and the thought of you rolling in those in feverish wanton need…
“Steve,” you said, your throat dry.
His eyes raked over you, ever so slowly, and as he did, he saw your breath quicken. You didn’t seem to really believe that he was there. Maybe you had fantasized about this before he had stepped in. Maybe you had fantasized about him. Even with everything you’d said on the tape, all the things you wanted him to do to you that were now playing on repeat in his head, he just wasn’t quite sure he could believe that it wasn’t just the aphrodisiac talking.
But whether you wanted him for anything beyond this room or for just this moment, it was clear you trusted him. You trusted him to help you out in this situation, with something this incredibly intimate and volatile and vulnerable, and there was no force in the universe that would’ve made him deny you. Especially when that meant that he could touch you. There was no other reasonable solution to this. That choice had been taken away from him, and that meant he could let go. And maybe… Just maybe…
I was too much of a coward to tell you in Verona. That made two of you. And this certainly wasn’t the way he had envisioned this going down but he would be lying if he said that whatever that was coming was a task he was reluctant to take on. His eyes stayed on your naked, glistening thighs like he’d been possessed. The room reeked of you, the pheromones of your arousal whispering sweet invitation to him, and Steve gathered every last shred of his self-control as he reached for a water bottle on the table with one hand and put the shield down to lean against the wall with the other.
“Hey, Ace,” Steve whispered. “You asked for me.”
You blinked at the sound of his voice and scooted to the edge of the bed, standing up. It could’ve been a hallucination conjured up by your feverish brain. And you could’ve hallucinated a lot worse than Steve stepping through the airlock of the room in the stealth suit of all things. But his voice sounded familiar – it echoed through your hazed state like a beacon in the night. You had been aching for him, for his touch, every last bit of your soul and body calling out for him. And he had heard. He had come to you.
“Are you here?” you whispered back, trying to make sense of it.
He hadn’t been there in the lab. There had been only Bucky, and Sam, and both had smelled wrong. Both had been wrong. You wanted just Steve; you had always wanted just him. Verona. Moonlight. Words that seemed to have no bearing to anything that was happening now when the only thing your throbbing blood was saying was Steve. You weren’t sure if you had been waiting for him for hours or for days or for centuries or for seconds, lying on the bed and floating in the half-delusional myriad of fantasies, touching yourself to the images of him but feeling no relief to the burning.
“I am, doll,” Steve said. “I’m yours if you want me. And only if you want me. The second you tell me to stop, I will.”
No. You absolutely weren’t going to do that. No chance in hell, when you finally had him.
Even in the small room, walking up to him seemed to take an eternity. His scent was faintly of musk and leather, mixed with something and something that might’ve been blood. It blended seamlessly into the deep, masculine note of the sandalwood-based cologne he always wore, blended with cedar and cypress and rosewood; a fresh forest smell that made your mouth water. In stealth suit, fresh from a mission. Shoulders accentuated by the uniform cut, wide chest above a flat stomach, strong thighs, large hands. He was the epitome of the masculine V shape, and he was yours. In the stealth suit.
By the time you reached him, you were barely able to hold yourself upright on your shaking legs. But Steve would’ve never let you fall. Before your legs could give underneath you, his free arm wrapped around your waist and pulled you close to rest against his body. The pleasantly cool, smooth Kevlar-like material of his suit felt like heaven against your body as you reached up to wrap your arms around his neck. He was looking at you, studying the fever burning in your eyes as you shivered upon the contact. Without letting go of you, he opened the water bottle.
“I need you to drink,” he murmured. “Your vitals said you’re dehydrated. You’ll need your strength.”
Obediently, you turned your head to the side and allowed him to lift the bottle to your lips. You hadn’t felt thirsty until you actually tasted the cool water Steve carefully held for you, but after the first sip, you greedily chugged the whole bottle. Steve’s eyes stayed fixated on your lips as you did, and he didn’t turn his gaze even as he put the empty bottle on the table and grabbed another.
“Still thirsty?” he asked.
The whole length of your body was pressed against his, and his thigh had slipped between yours to stabilize you further. Even through the fabric, he could feel against his palm how hot your skin was. You had come to him, out of your free will – as free as it could be under the influence of the aphrodisiac – and you were there, now, rising to your tiptoes and pressing your face against the crook of his neck before drawing a deep breath in. Just the scent and the presence of him seemed to calm you down, and maybe that meant he shouldn’t –
Your tongue licked a long, languid stripe over the side of Steve’s neck, tasting the salt of his skin and the musk that was simply Steve. As you did, your hips – the bare, soaking wet, burning apex of your thighs – rolled against his thigh, and the high whimper that left your mouth made every single thought empty from his head. He barely registered the drizzle of cool water that hit his cheek as the water bottle he had been holding had exploded in his flexing hand. As you lifted your head to look at him, not even noticing the water that had also hit you, Steve dropped the crushed remnants of the bottle and raised his hand to cup your cheek. Every single cell in his body was alight, painfully aware that you were still rocking yourself against his thigh, slight graceful movements of your hips chasing that delicious friction.
“Tell me you want me,” Steve whispered, looking into your eyes. “I need to hear it one more time. Tell me you want this.”
You looked into his eyes, and for a second, Steve felt like you saw everything, every single last fantasy he’d conjured in the darkness of his bedroom over the last few months, every thought of his that screamed how much he wanted this. But then, as his name left your lips in a desperate whimper that came combined with you pressing even tighter against his body, he realized that was all your lust. Heightened by the aphrodisiac but yours.
“Steve. I want you. I need you. Steve, please.”
His lips came down on yours, rough, greedy, claiming, and your body caught fire with that taste of his, that control and command that laced the kiss. Lust so violent that nothing you had felt during previous hours or ever in your life could compare slammed into you, crumbling into beautiful, empty whiteness everything except Steve. Your hands clawed on the suit, desperately trying to figure out how to get the damn thing off and have all that warm, masculine skin against yours. With his every single brain cell consumed by the kiss, Steve’s hand moved on muscle memory as he released the suit’s cleverly hidden clasps, the arm draped across your back never leaving its position. It was you, just you, your taste and your warmth and the delicious, tiny sounds you were breathing into the kiss as his mouth pressed against yours and his tongue ran over the pout lower lip he had stared more than he should’ve during all the meetings, his head running off with fantasies of just bending you over the damn briefing table and having his way.
His. You were his.
As the clasps opened, you yanked the suit almost violently down to bundle around Steve’s trim waist, and then finally, finally you could get your hands on all that muscle covered by silky skin. Had your lust-shorting brain had any remnant of control, you would’ve thought that it was almost ridiculous how he looked like a Greek god, how it was not possible for a human to be this chiseled artwork but frankly, you weren’t too concerned by that. He broke the kiss only to look at you, a large palm grabbing hold of your gown and yanking, and as the fabric gave like butter, he tossed it aside. It was his turn to get his hands everywhere, running over every curve of yours as you arched in his touch. Your hips rocked back and forth against the strong thigh between yours, and as he tensed the muscles, you whimpered. The fabric, smooth as it was, was almost too much in your overwired state and yet, you couldn’t imagine moving an inch as Steve’s dark gaze was fixed on your face.
“That’s my thigh, honey. Does that feel good?” he rasped, his hands moving to cup your butt for added stability as your own thighs trembled.
In response, you yanked his mouth down back on yours, delirious for the taste of him. Steve’s skin was warm and you had an inkling it should’ve been feeling like it was overheating you even more but instead it seemed to help you concentrate onto something other than your burning. Every thought was emptying from your head as the coil was tightening in your belly, heat pooling down down down and sizzling with a promise of a climax that might finally bring at least a drop of relief. God, he smelled gorgeous. He was still fresh home from a mission, and there was that hint of pure peak of man in his scent that made you whine as you chased the peak.
“Steve… Feels so good…” you moaned to his lips.
“Good,” he said, pressing a kiss onto your jawline and ghosting his lips down to whisper straight into your ear. “I’m going to make you come for me until it’s all out. I’ve got you now, honey. Let me take care of you. Let me see you come undone.”
Coming on his thigh, with those words falling into your ear like dark warm sugar, had sometime in the past felt like a filthy fantasy, and it was filthy, but it was exactly the right kind of filthy. The climax, coaxed further by his words, struck like a lightning, finally giving you a hint of shade when you had been lying on the desert sand. It was nowhere near enough, and the moment you stopped trembling and opened your eyes, the heat was already creeping back up. You needed more.
Good thing that Steve was looking at you like he wanted to eat you alive.
I’m yours if you want me.
Keeping your eyes in his, still panting for air, you pressed your palm flat against the washboard of his stomach and slid your hand down, past the bundled suit on his waist, past the waistline of his boxers. Your fingers brushed tentatively over the base of his cock and then wrapped around it as you swallowed at the sensation of the size of him. He was burning hot in your hand and despite all his self-control that bordered on superhuman, he was breathing in ragged pants as your hand slowly caressed him.
“I need you,” you whispered.
And oh, he would give. The next thing you knew, you were being backed against the wall of the room as he tore the suit completely off and kicked his boots away, and then yes, all of him slamming you against the wall, all that glorious godlike physique yours to…
keep?
The thought circled somewhere around the edges of your scattered brain that was more concerned by the fact that you were being hauled up to the wall and his fingers were brushing up your thighs and –
“Oh fuck, honey,” he groaned as his calloused hand slid over your soaking wet core. “Oh jesus.”
All those times he’d fantasized about you. All those pictures he’d conjured in the darkness of his bedroom, all those ways he had imagined he would make you sing. All within his grasp. His lips were ghosting your ear, a gentle tug of teeth here and there and you both never wanted this to stop and needed it to stop because you wanted more, more, more, everything he could and wanted to give you. Steve’s voice was low and strained as he carefully slid a finger inside you:
“So wet for me,” he whispered. “So greedy.”
He was easily holding you up on the wall by one arm slipped under your butt as his other hand worked your core, the heel of his palm rubbing gently against your clit. Even as you were sensitive from the drug, it was a different kind of sensitive, something that made you whine and wither on his touch not out of discomfort but out of pleasure you hadn’t quite imagined possible. The chase for that primal satisfaction had you shameless; coming for him just minutes before had been a sip of cooling water but what raged inside you was a wildfire that had evaporated the relief almost as soon as the last wave had washed over you.
You needed more than his fingers. You needed to be full of him.
“Steve… Just fuck me, please.”
Steve Rogers was a strong man, but there was no possibility that he could’ve resisted the feverish plea that fell from your lips, you calling out to him, you asking to… He wasn’t even thinking about resisting, no, the second the words had left your mouth he was shifting your weight in his hands.
“Don’t worry, doll, I said I’m yours,” he said, pressing a kiss to your lips. “I will. That’s what you asked me to do, didn’t you? To fuck you against the wall like this, with my cock deep inside you?”
You barely recalled the words, the message you had sent, and it mattered fuck all now that he was here, lining up to finally, finally, finally give you what you wanted.
“That was a question, doll,” he rasped, his forehead pressed against yours and sweat sprinkling on it from the effort of trying to maintain at least an inkling of composure.
“Yes. Yes. I need you. I need you to fuck me and I need you to come for me; I need you to come inside me.”
You were so needy for him that he slid inside the second he pushed against you but despite the wetness, despite the burning, it was still a sensation that made your head drop back against the wall as you adjusted to his size. God, yes. This sensation of being full of him, precisely him and not just anyone, had been something you had craved from the second the sweet vapor had floated into your system.
The feeling of you wrapped around his cock slammed into Steve’s brain, the force of the impact pushing out anything and everything except for the feral, primal animalistic need to keep doing precisely what he was doing. You were helplessly pressed between him and the wall, squeezing him, and with his hands full of your body and his ears full of your sweet moans, he was certain he was approaching some sort of ascension.
“Good girl,” his low, hoarse voice filled your ears like warm syrup. “You’re being so good for me.”
The feeling of your walls clenching even harder around his cock made him chuckle against the skin of your neck. He was throbbing inside you at the feeling, wanting this to last and wanting to chase the release he knew would be out of this world. You were burning hot in his hand, clawing at his back, incoherent at the feeling of him pressed against you and sheathed to the hilt inside you, his hips rocking with torturously slow pace that was pushing you towards the edge again.
“You like that, don’t you? You like me telling you how perfect you are for me, how well you’re taking my cock, doll?”
You were so close, so so so close again, and this time, it was going to be even better than it had been coming on his thigh. He had you, just like he always had you back on the field, that’s what you loved about him among many other things, the control, the command… And he had asked you a question. Before you could think, the words fell out of your mouth:
“Yes, Captain.”
Fuck, fuck, fuck. In that second, someone poured a gallon of gasoline over Steve and threw a lit match to follow. Your words scorched every last cell in his body, the way his title rolled off your tongue making his head spin. His eyes flared into a blue inferno and his body slammed tighter against you as he lost his rhythm for a moment before stalling. You met his eyes and swallowed, because something had changed. Steve Rogers had dipped into Captain America, and you had seen that gaze of a hunting predator in his eyes on the field but had never imagined it in a context like this.
Truth be told, you had. But you had never imagined it would one day stare at you in the eye, his cock deep inside you. He had stopped, and you were barely coherent, swaying right there on the edge for him.
“Is that so, doll?” he chuckled, smiling like a shark that had smelled blood. “You want your captain to take the reins? You want to just focus on being a good girl and doing what you’re told?”
Your brain ways beyond being able to form anything resembling a sentence, you faced his gaze and nodded. You did trust him, from the bottom of your heart – you had known the moment you had started succumbing to this that if there was one person you trusted to get you out of this, it was Steve Rogers.
Your Captain.
The second your head moved in agreement, he slammed his mouth on yours, his hips moving to retreat almost completely out of you and then right back in with force that told you he had been holding back. And you wanted, needed, had to have everything of his. You buried your nails to his back as he ravaged you, his pace almost inhumanly fast but not for a second hurting. He would never. The climax that had been building itself up by coiling your entire body tighter and tighter was almost on the edge of snapping, almost almost almost –
“So fucking wet for me. So perfect for your captain. Come on my cock, honey. Let me have it.”
“STEVE!”
The fire that washed over you rivaled a supernova and you could feel your muscles clamp down on Steve’s cock almost desperately, and the combination of that and his name ripping from your throat in a desperate sob was too much for Steve, too. With one final thrust, he buried himself as deep inside you as he could and came, your core fluttering around him in a way that awakened some deep, deep hunger inside him. He knew how you felt now, he knew how his name sounded dripping from your lust-crazed lips, he knew how wet you were for him.
He was so utterly, utterly ruined.
During the momentary lapse back to reason, he ran a hand over your hot cheek, looking into your eyes. You both were breathing in gulps of air as Steve slowly slid you down the wall, sliding out of you and pulling you to him. His hands landed possessively over your hips, and you hummed in pleasure, positively drunk over the feeling of being his, completely unashamed of anything as he kissed you.
“You did so well, honey. So good for me. I’ve got you; we’ll get through this,” he murmured against your mouth.
He wasn’t done with you – not for himself, and not for you. Not by a long shot. He could feel the burning on your skin, and when he mouthed the pulse point on your neck, he could still tell that your heart was beating like a hummingbird. And the second your hand dived between your bodies and wrapped around his cock again, he was hard for you.
God bless the serum and the heightened testosterone that followed. Even as his plans for you sat firmly in the realm of unholy.
The second you touched him, his palm covered the nape of your neck, grabbing it firmly to make you look up to his eyes. The climax wasn’t the relief you had been hoping for, not yet, it was something worse and something better, a tease, a promise of eventual one but not yet, not before you would come for Steve again and again and again. As of now, you were burning, burning still. Burning for him.
“The bed. On your hands and knees,” he growled, and you obeyed.
Of course you did. When he said it like that, just like he did on missions, it was a sign that he had the control and you could trust him. It was alright. You could let go. You could forget everything and let him lead, and there was freedom in that. The surrender was a cherry on the top of the lust boiling in your body, and when you felt him kneel on the bed behind you, his large palms caressing over your thighs and hips, you shivered. He leaned over you, above you, and you could more sense than feel his broad shoulders shadowing you as he kissed the back of your neck. You were trembling in anticipation as you felt him position himself against you, almost pushing into you but not quite. Not yet.
“That’s a good girl,” he said, his voice a dark whisper on your neck. “So good at following orders.”
“Yes, Captain. Please, I need… Please.”
Steve chuckled, and his teeth carefully nibbed your shoulder before he talked again:
“Good girls get rewarded.”
Any chance of you forming a reply to the words was gone the second he pushed himself back inside you, and the angle had him brushing against every single perfect spot inside you. He was so deep, even deeper than he had been and you threw your head back in crazed whimper. He was still draped over your back, and his left hand slipped under your body, pulling you tighter against him.
“Up, honey,” he rasped into your ear.
It was more a warning than an order, because in the next second, he had shifted on the bed to sit on his heels, pulling you flush against his chest as you straddled his thighs. He was all hard muscle and musky masculinity behind and underneath you. He positioned an arm between your breasts so that you were almost caged in his grip, his palm spreading possessively over your collarbone as his breath tickled your ear. Instinctively, you moved in his lap, arching back and grabbing the back of his neck for support even as his arm held you in place with ease. His bicep felt impossibly wide as it pressed against your side but you were far more focused on the fact that he was deep enough in you that he was hitting places you weren’t aware had existed. You flexed your thighs to cradle his in between, and god, those thighs were like two tree-trunks. The curve of your butt was pressed against the washboard of his stomach, and you felt his free hand caress the side of your hip before it roamed to your inner thigh. He still wasn’t moving, even as you were slightly rocking yourself back and forth, his patience almost impossible.
“Easy, doll. We’ve got all night,” he said, but contrary to his words, he pressed two fingers to draw small circles over your clit as he finally, finally moved. “We’ve got as long as you need.”
“Steve…” you whined as he rolled his hips.
He moved his hips and your entire body with such ease that you could feel electricity crackling on your skin. It was this apex of a man buried deep inside you, this impossible demigod that was so under your spell that he was already panting against your neck.
“I’m right here, honey. Fuck, you’re so tight,” he said. “Squeezing me so good.”
His far too teasing fingers brushed over your clit in time of his rubbing thrusts, and you were being wound tighter and tighter, another climax already building inside you and the peak was building higher than you had ever felt it, preparing for the collapse that was as inevitable as it had been to end up right here.
“I’m yours.”
“Oh yes you are, doll. All mine. Looking so pretty on my cock.”
Steve was mouthing the side of your neck, grazing with his teeth until he found a spot that made you whimper and latched onto that, sucking firm enough to leave a mark. You pushed your hips forward against his fingers, trying to get more pressure, trying to get him to move faster. The second you did, he pulled you back tighter against himself, preventing you from moving on your own but continuing to move both of your bodies himself.
“You’re going to let me, doll,” he growled. “You wanted to let go. So let go. Relax. Let your captain take care of you.”
He brought his fingers up from between your legs to your lips and you let your jaw drop open without a thought at all to taste the salty, tangy combination of you and him. As your mouth closed around his fingers in wet, warm softness, Steve moaned a strained curse against the your shoulder and picked up the pace.
You were gone. You were floating somewhere beyond all reality, somewhere where the only thing that existed was the man behind you and inside you and the burning in your veins that craved. Him, this, anything he could and would give you.
The feeling of you sucking on his fingers and your soaked core trying to desperately keep him from retreating as he moved his hips, your muscles clenching around his cock, was beyond Steve’s wildest fantasies. He was beyond any conscious thought whatsoever, his brain focused only on thought of spending the rest of his life buried deep inside you, pulling a peak after peak after peak from you until you were all spent and all his. With a lewd, wet sound, he pulled his fingers out of your mouth despite your whiny protest and pressed them again at your core to continue touching you in sync with his movements. You were almost there, strung tight with desire in his lap, your core slick and burning around his cock. He mouthed a path from your neck to your earlobe and teased it with his teeth, his breath hot and filthy and dripping with sin in your ear as you whimpered.
“You’re going to come for me, love. You’re going to come for your captain,” he rasped, the authority unquestionable. “That’s an order.”
His words pushed you right over the edge, collapsing the mountain that had been rising from the sea within you and the earthquake that came did Steve in, too. You could hear him moan your name into your ear as he came, the feeling of you irresistible as you came undone for him. It was an explosion that scorched through you, a heat that consumed the previous burn that had been in you, swallowed it whole like an exploding supernova swallowed a galaxy. Whole, and without mercy. It sent you falling back into what felt like a cooling pool of water after you had been catching fire, after a whole day spent in the scorching sun.
The whiteness that came after was still and absolute for a second or two and then you felt Steve’s chest rumble behind your limp body, his cock still buried deep inside you and his hands holding you so close.
“Better?” he chuckled, leaning over your shoulder to press a kiss to your cheek.
“Yes,” you whispered.
It was. You were starting to feel like you weren’t going to spontaneously combust but even as it was the case, you were far from exhausted, and Steve chuckled again as he felt your core flutter around him.
“Not done?”
You shook your head and he retreated back, kissing your temple and then whispering into your ear:
“Good. Cause I’m far from being done with you, too.”
In the late night, you descended back into your body from somewhere between fever dream and consciousness to find yourself comfortable in bed. A shape like a warm rock wall was pressed against your back, and you were being held in strong arms: safe. So safe. At some point during the night, when you had been finally feeling like you could sleep, Steve had carried you to the shower and spent long minutes washing your body. And of course, you had returned the favor, and gotten a taste of him. And of course, Steve had been able to take only so much of you kneeling on the shower floor with his cock in between your plush lips before he had had to haul you up and slowly, almost languorously have you against the tiled wall. And of course, you had come for him one more time even as you had been forced to consider that the next climax might be the one to shut your brain off completely.
There were worse ways to go.
In the dark room, wrapped in satin sheets that would probably have to be burned after this, you stirred once more. A gentle breath tickled the back of your neck, and even half asleep, you felt your lust wake, heat pooling into the bottom of your stomach and tingling all over your skin. The past few hours seemed like a pleasant, hazy dream that still caressed your body.
More. More more more more.
The greediness of your hindbrain coaxed you back to life. You rocked your hips back against the man that was spooning you, and drowsily whispered his name, still unsure which part of you actually knew it was him.
“Steve.”
The answer to your whimper was a dark chuckle and a slightly sleepy kiss onto your earlobe.
“Right here, sweetheart,” he whispered. “Do you need me again?”
“Need you. Want you,” you whined, rocking your hips again, satisfied to feel that he was already hard.
Wanting you as much as you wanted him. One of the hands that held you slid down to grab your hips and roll you onto your back, and in the next second, he leaned over you to kiss you even as his hand slid down your stomach. Your renewed desire had you already wet for him again, and he groaned as he parted your folds to feel it.
“God, doll, how do you ever expect me to get enough of you when you feel like this?”
He positioned himself over you again, trailing slow, teasing kisses down your stomach as you tried to rock up to coax him on. His hands were roaming up and down your body, caressing your skin with the lightest of touches and stopping to squeeze every now and then.
“You don’t have to,” you whispered. “I’m yours.”
That lit a fire. Steve let out a harsh, ragged breath and moved down to sink his face in between your legs. There was no tentativeness to it this time, not after he’d spent the last twelve or so hours thoroughly exploring you, making note of every way you reacted to his touch. He knew what to do, and a proud shiver, like a predator shaking its fur dry, shot down his spine.
His. You were his.
He was absolutely merciless, his tongue never letting up even as your whimpers of his name grew louder with every movement. He was holding you down by your hipbones, your thighs resting on his shoulders, not letting you move an inch. The burning blue flames of his eyes looked at you as you writhed and whined and moaned his name for him, and a reminder of his eidetic memory crossed your mind. He would remember this, and the way he was looking at you, he was making sure that he would get every single detail. As he gently buried two fingers inside you, you were certain that you would’ve jumped on the bed had his arm not been firmly resting on top of your hips.
“I want to wake you up like this every day,” he whispered hoarsely, his head still in between your thighs. “I want the first thing you feel in the morning to be coming apart on my tongue, and I want to go out into the world with your sweet voice moaning my name echoing in my ears.”
Yes. Yes. Yes, please.
“Fuck, Steve…”
He cursed at the sensation of you clamping down on his fingers, desperate for the sensation of being full again because you were ruined, ruined, utterly ruined by him. There would not be going back from this, not after being loved and worshipped and fucked like this by someone who was closer to a god than a man.
“Come for me, love,” he whispered against you, command and a plea at the same time.
What was there to do but obey as his fingers curled up, brushing against a sensitive spot inside you, and the endearment fell from Steve’s lips like a confession you had been waiting for?
The minute you returned to your senses, the self-satisfied chuckle that rumbled from between your legs gave you no other option than to beg for him to fill you? And with how wrapped around your finger he had already been for months, you could’ve asked Steve to fetch you the moon and the stars, and he would’ve obeyed without question. To sheathe himself inside you was certainly not a tall order, especially not with how you wrapped your limbs around him, trying to get him as close as possible.
It was love. It had to be, wrapped into the scarlet-red silks of lust as it now was.
When it finally settled down again, your voice hoarse from screaming his name into the dim room that was luckily very well soundproofed, he still wanted to hold you close. His fingers traced lazy patterns over your back.
“God, I should’ve said something in Verona,” he rasped into your hair as your warm weight rested against his chest. “About how much of an embarrassing crush I had on you.”
You shifted closer, soaking in the comfort of being cherished and wanted and protected like this, and when you smiled against his skin, you were already halfway back in a dream. It certainly was an unconventional beginning, and as the aphrodisiac was almost out of you, one sardonic part of your brain was wondering how you’d spin the beginning of this love story for the press. Which would certainly be foaming at the mouth when it found out two Avengers were dating.
“Maybe you should say that tomorrow, then,” you whispered.
And that was exactly what he intended to do.

Question...? Act I: “Can I ask you a question?”
Pairing - Steve Rogers x Reader Summary - After years of back and forth, years of unknowns, a lifetime of questions, it's time for answers.
Question...? Mini Series List | Steve Rogers Masterlist
It always started with a question. A simple question. An innocuous question.
From the day you met Steve Rogers all those years ago, after moving onto his street early in childhood, it always started with a question.
But in all those years, you’d never felt as much distance between the two of you as you did sitting in this empty bar, an untouched drink before the both of you, and a heavy silence filling the empty stool between you.
He looks over at you, curiosity burning in those all too familiar eyes. Talking to each other used to be the most natural thing in the world. He clears his throat, not quite looking at you as he finally speaks, "Can I ask you a question?"
You look over at him, a bar stool separating the two of you, "Sure."
"Why did we never - Why aren't - " A nervous chuckle floats out of Steve's mouth. He rubs the back of his neck, a nervous tick he had since childhood. "God, I don't even know how to ask this."
It breaks your heart. There was a time in your life where you and Steve could say anything, tell each other anything. A time clearly long gone. You have every right to be angry with him. You both know that. You have every right not to be friends with him anymore. And yet, there's something about that boy from Brooklyn that you've never been able to let go. "Steve, it's me. Just ask."
"Why didn't we end up together?" He blurts the question so quickly that it shocks even himself. Even with his widened eyes and embarrassed flush, his eyes bore into yours as the words fall from his lips.
The question takes you aback. It’s a question you never allowed yourself to think about. Up until now, it was a question you thought plagued you and you alone. "Oh."
"I'm - I'm sorry.” He hangs his head, shaking it slightly. He chuckles, “That was a really weird - that was a weird thing to say."
"It's okay."
His eyebrows furrow as he stares at the counter. He can’t live another moment without knowing the answer that plagued him for years. "But..."
You raise an eyebrow, "But?"
"Why didn't we ever try?"
"Timing."
It’s a lie. It’s as good of a lie as you can come up with as you sit in this nearly empty bar with the person you once thought would be the great love of your life.
You wondered when you stopped believing that some invisible string would eventually pull you back together. You weren’t sure if there was a moment that simply pulled you out of the trance. Or if you grew tired of waiting. Or if the string was simply unable to reel you back to each other after all the distance wedged between the two of you.
Steve quirks a brow at you, clearly not at all convinced by your half-hearted lie. "Timing?"
"It was everything, Steve. We got lost in everything - situations, circumstances, miscommunications. And honestly, I didn't - you didn't seem all that interested."
"What?" Steve snorts like his disinterest in you is the most absurd idea he’s ever heard. "That's crazy, I am - I was always interested."
You shake your head. You were never on the same page. Not then. Not now. "Not enough to fight for me. Never enough for that."
His eyebrows furrow as the memories play back, all the times he wished he put up more of a fight, all the fucking situations, circumstances, miscommunications.
And what he finds is that he can't remember who he was before you painted all his nights a color he couldn't bring himself to stop searching for.
But he swears it's just a question.

match made in uni
☆ teacher college au ; strict adviser!nat (science teacher) x coadviser cute!reader (english teacher)
— im sure school isnt the same for everyone butttt for me in each class we have a teacher assigned as our advisor!!! they also teach classes
— longass oneshot because i’ve been working on this for two months……
soon, it was the beginning of a new school year at nyu. natasha, a science teacher known for her strictness, is finally getting her own advisory class.
natasha walks over to to her desk at the large, wine colored faculty and the new paper at the bulletin board catches her eye.
the list of co-advisors and advisors for this school year. natasha walks towards it and racks her eyes for her name and sees another beside it.
advisor - co advisor
Romanoff, Natasha - Y/l/n, Y/n
Barnes, Bucky - Rogers, Steve
Maximoff, Wanda - Barton, Clint
…
natasha furrows her eyebrows at the unfamiliar name next to hers.
“wanda, who is y/n y/l/n?” natasha turns around to the other redhead. if anyone were to know who and what, it would be wanda.
wanda was always the first to get on campus, natasha second.
“oh! she’s the new english teacher. very sweet young woman, maria accepted that job in harvard, remember?” she says with a sweet smile.
“you know this how?” natasha takes her seat in front of her desk, beside wanda’s “i bumped into her as she was given a tour, you’ll love her as your co- advisor!” natasha gave a hum.
she didn’t meet you till 2 weeks before the school year started. a faculty meeting was held at the auditorium. natasha walked in, expecting to be second, but was now third. she saw wanda and a y/h/c talking.
“nat!” wanda waved her over as the y/h/c turned her head to see natasha approaching “natasha, this is y/n! y/n, natasha”
“y/n” you smiled, extending your hand for a handshake “romanoff” she shook your hand once and dropped it “oh- of course, y/l/n then” you laughed as she nodded, taking the seat beside wanda.
natasha wouldn’t lie, you were attractive. she just didn’t know you enough. the meeting soon started, briefing what would happen when the students came. the list of advisors and co-advisors came up, making each person familiar with who they were working with.
after that, natasha soon realized your desk was beside hers at the faculty. you didn’t have much but some flowers at the side and sticky notes up.
natasha didn’t see much of you till the week of school starting itself. “wanda, do you happen do have y/l/n’s phone number?” “why don’t you ask her yourself, flirty” wanda giggled
“not in that way, genius. we need to prep our classroom” “sureeee… here ya go” wanda gave a post it as natasha grumbled, taking it.
Natasha Romanoff
Y/l/n, if you’re free please meet me
at our assigned room tomorrow. Thanks.
— N.R
Y/n Y/l/n
Sure! Around what time? :)
Natasha Romanoff
11AM Sharp.
Y/n Y/l/n
Got it! See you there!
“nat why are you being so dry to this poor woman” wanda looked over natasha’s desk as she hid her phone to her chest. “snoopy” “dry texter” “Well she’s my co-advisor! I’ve never had one and I like to handle things on my own”
“A, you’ve never even been an advisor, you need help. B, she’s kind, don’t break her. C, she’s pretty, maybe date her” wanda winked again “oh fuck you” natasha rolled her eyes “romanoff! we’re in school” “oh come on, I hear you swearing at little maximoff all day”
11am the next day came and each advisor and co had to decorate their own classroom. natasha and you decided to just make it as simple as possible. you two were decorating with quiet music playing from a vinyl player.
“sorry if ever i’m being rude or dry, i don’t trust people easily” natasha said, breaking the comfortable silence as she hung up decorations over the board.
“i don’t blame you, you did just meet me last week” you let out a chuckle as natasha climbed down the short ladder “natasha” she extended her hand “y/n” you shook it “I think this is good enough” natasha looks around the decorated classroom, satisfied.
“mhm… hey, wanna grab lunch? i know a great place around here” you suggested “why not”
you and natasha walked over to a café after lunch for come coffee “order?” she asked you as you took a seat “iced caramel macchiato please” she nodded and ordered for you both
natasha told you about her many stories as a teacher. “yeah this one time some kid threw a fit and ripped all the pages from their book” natasha said with a low laugh “oh lord” you shook your head with a smile
“what about you? is this your first teaching job?” natasha tilted her head “sort of? i was a student teacher for 2 years before i graduated this year”
“oh, so you’re like fresh out of college?” “yup, i kind of retook a year in grade school though so i was like a year or two older than my batch mates. they graduated 22 and 23 and me, 24” i shrugged sipping on my coffee. “that’s nice”
“what about you?” “my age? i’m 36.” your eyes widened at that “look, i know i’m old but at least don’t make it obvious” natasha laughed lowly “no! no i just- you don’t look it at all, i honestly thought you were in your 20s” you chuckled “well thank you, i’m flattered” natasha smiled
the morning of your first day, natasha handed you an iced caramel macchiato and you blushed as she remembered your order. “nervous?” she smiled, taking her seat beside you.
natasha wore a black betau top with cream wide leg trousers. you wore a lace flare top with flare pants.
“sort of, i have 3 classes today. they’ll probably hate me” you groan and take a long sip of the coffee “unlikely, you’re very likable. you may even take wanda’s place as nicest teacher. but if they ever disrespect you or any of that, i will personally have a chat with them”
“i really appreciate you, natasha” she nodded and stood up, extending her hand “time to have our first advisory class” she winked and you chuckled, shaking your head.
“good morning class, i’m ms romanoff, your advisor this school year. and beside me is your co-advisor, ms y/l/n. i’ve been teaching at nyu for 5 years and this is my first advisory class. i will also be your science teacher.” natasha said with a straight face as she turned to look at you before looking back at the students
“hi! good morning, i’m ms y/l/n, your co- advisor and english teacher this school year! it’s my first year teaching and i look forward to getting to know everyone” you smiled
natasha briefed everyone on general instructions and the schedule. english as first period today and science as last.
“that’s it, be good everyone, thank you” natasha stopped her presentation and all the students went off to chattering. you opened your laptop, opening your slides when natasha whispered behind you. “good luck, you’ll do great” she winked and you thanked her before you heard the door shut.
if’s been a month of teaching with natasha. you were cleaning up your things as your finished your class when natasha walked in, her class being the one after yours.
she made small talk to you while setting up her own things. she made you laugh when a student suddenly asked. “ms y/l/n! you’re a lesbian, correct?” your eyes widened at the topic
“excuse me, i don’t think it’s appropriate to ask a teacher that.” natasha shut them up as you both left the classroom, sharing a laugh
you had slipped out the fact you had a girlfriend in college to natasha on one of your café hangouts so she probably got the hint.
"what got them to ask that question" natasha chuckled "well the boys keep asking me out and i keep declining them. but don't they get they are students?!" “oh trust me, it gets better. i’ve had my fair share of questions and-” natasha halted her words when she got the hint some students were whispering as the both of you passed by the halls.
“what are they whispering about?” “i’m actually not sure as well” you said “well i’ll see you after class” you waved to natasha, making your way to the classroom.
“ms y/l/n, i don’t mean to invade your privacy or anything but- are you and ms romanof dating? everyone has been talking about it and- i- i just didn’t want to assume” a student came up to you and you choked on your spit
“i- um- no! and i’m sure ms romanoff wouldn’t fancy the idea of students talking about her love life.” you shook it off with a smile, thoughts racing through your head. no way natasha would go for you.
“students are saying we’re dating?!?”
"hey, you've been staring intently at that paper for awhile, you alright?" natasha tapped your shoulder, standing beside you.
"this interpretation is so..." "so.." "read it for yourself" you lifted the paper up to natasha "pick a line from any shakespeare poem and interpret it... the answer was..”
'my chosen poem is 'o never say that i was false of heart' and my line is 'as from soul, which in thy breast doth lie', i think it means shakespeare approves of lesbians’"
"you can laugh" you said as natasha let out a loud laugh, covering her mouth. you looked up and you saw natasha smile widely before looking into your eyes.
time went by too slowly when natasha cleared her throat and handed you back the paper. “it’s funny” she stated, sitting back in her seat. the silence was now awkward.
of course she wouldn’t go for you. “yeah” you whispered and stood up. natasha watched you as her words died in her throat.
the next few weeks were you avoiding natasha as much as you could, and her doing nothing to fix it.
you had a particularly rough week with taking an extra class since wanda was down with the cold. you happened to have a love for history as well.
the papers to grade were twice as much now. you rubbed your forehead in frustration as you were the only one on school campus.
“y/n?” you turned around to see natasha by the door “yeah” you murmured before turning back to the papers. “it’s 1 am what are you doing?!” she walked over to your desk and saw the amount of papers scattered.
“go home” she stated “not done” you whispered, leaning on the palm of your hand “you can continue tomorrow, dekta” natasha let the nickname slip but was thankful you were too out of it to notice
natasha started filing the papers for you as you rested your head against the desk. i can take homeroom alone so you don’t have to get in till 10am, ‘kay?” she helped you stand up as you murmured a yes.
“you won’t fall asleep driving?” she asked and you shook your head. “safe travels” she watched as you drove off.
the next morning students frowned at the loss of their favorite teacher in homeroom. “alright, we finished a few minutes early so… any questions?” natasha asked and received many raised hands
“yes, diana?” “where’s ms y/n?” natasha softened at the mention, not going unnoticed by the students “she- she’s taking a rest but will be here for your 3rd period”
“is her girlfriend taking care of her?” a student piqued. natasha stiffened “whatever ms y/l/n and her partner do is not relevant.” natasha looked at her watch and grabbed her stuff “have a good first period everyone.”
natasha couldn’t help but feel a weight on her chest by the thought of you having a partner that isn’t her.
unbeknownst to her, the students were ready in their cupid skills.
“i’m telling you, diana! she frowned and got all cold again by the mention of ms y/n having a girlfriend!” the student argued. “what if we sent fake flowers to her desk and ms romanoff got more jealous!” “that’s so childish!” “well- i am a teen?” the students bickered but quickly got quiet when their next subject teacher came.
the next day natasha’s mood got worse upon seeing roses on your table, with a note. you came a few minutes after hers.
“morning ms romanoff” natasha tried to hold her tounge at the downgrade from natasha to ms romanoff.
“morning y/n, you know you can call me natasha, right?” you nodded but smiled at the flowers on your desk
“girlfriend?” she asked and you laughed “no” you opened up the card to see a horrible pickup line that made you laugh.
“people ask me what blush i use, i just show them a photo of you and i’m all roses” you read out loud to natasha.
“corny” she snickered “yeah? you can do better than that, romanoff?” natasha spun her chair to face you “as a matter of fact, yes.” “try me” you smirked “oh you’ll see.”
since then, every morning you would get to your desk with a pickup line from natasha which were undeniably good.
it’s been four months of teaching when you left quite frantically that piqued natasha’s interest,
“what’s the rush?” she chuckled “gotta date” you shoved your stuff into your bag “bye wanda, steve, bruce, tasha!” you left before a reply
“hope she gets laid” wanda muttered, earning a slap from natasha “what! i’m being supportive!” natasha grumbled in response
the next day, natasha was surprised to see you and wanda earlier than usual. “morning nat!” wanda greeted and you forced a smile to her as well “what’s wrong?” “she stood me up… i got a lot of work done last night though” you leaned back in your seat
“i’m sorry y/n/n” natasha set her stuff down and handed you the daily pickup line. she smiled when you laughed. “how do you never fail to come up with a bad one?!? this is like number sixty!” “one of my many talents” natasha winked.
“imma get coffee, be right back” you left and wanda immediately said “ask her out.” “what?” natasha looked at wanda “come onnnnnn! it’s been 4 months” “should i really?” natasha asked quietly and wanda shrieked a yes. a small smile was forming on natasha’s face at the idea.
the next day natasha came even earlier than wanda and set roses on your desk.
natasha fiddled with her pen when you walked in “morning wands, morning tasha” you sat on your desk and smiled at the roses. wanda quietly snuck out the door. “are these from you?” you smirked, jokingly at natasha. “yes, and this is for you, natasha said seriously and handed you a post it. in specific, a sticky note that asks you out. this one finally has her name signed on the bottom.
“i- of course” you smiled at natasha “great! i- um- i’ll pick you up tonight at your place” “alright” you smiled widely “i have a thing- i’ll be back” she nodded as you left.
bonus-
you kept all post its from natasha and she was in awe when she saw them in the box.
the students all went crazy when they saw you both kissing online.
wanda was a bridesmaid at the wedding.

Sweet as Cherry Pie
Pairing: Soft Dark!Steve Rogers x Female Reader Summary: Steve comes home with great news, but you're not as happy as you should be. Word Count: Over 1.4k Warnings: Implied smut, noncon/dubcon elements (you have been warned), gaps in memory, gaslighting, coercion, creepy vibes, Steve Rogers (yep, he's a warning and a little mean) A/N: Steve and Cherry's Intro for my Disturbia AU! ❤️ Beta read by the lovely @whisperlullaby, but any and all mistakes are my own. Divider by the talented @firefly-graphics. Please follow @navybrat817-sideblog for new fics and notifications. Comments, reblogs, feedback are loved and appreciated!
You always enjoyed baking. It gave you something to do with your hands and the hobby was both simple and challenging. It required focus for measuring and following directions, but you also had fun with your creations. It seemed to be one of the only ways you could express yourself now, which clouded your feelings when you focused too much on it.
I will not feel sorry for myself. I have a good life. The best life.
Being the wife of Steve Rogers was a dream come true. The man was handsome, loving, a hero. The all American dream wrapped up in the perfect package. He worked hard to provide you both with a lovely home and didn't ask for much in return. Only that you follow his orders and be dutiful.
A good wife obeys her husband.
You idly wiped down the counter as you waited for the oven timer to go off, glancing at one of the photos Steve placed near the window. While he smiled from ear-to-ear, yours was a little more reserved. He loved drawing and taking photos of you, but there weren’t any photos of the two of you before you moved to The Haven. They were somehow lost in the move.
Not that I remember packing any of my stuff, but my old place doesn’t matter, does it?
The sound of Steve’s motorcycle pulling into the garage pulled you from your distracted thoughts. He normally called if he was going to come home early. The sound of the door would indicate if he was back for a good or bad reason. Either way, he’d take his mood out on your body. You had to look presentable.
A good wife lives to please her husband.
You threw your apron off and rushed to your room to put on the cherry scented perfume he liked. He enjoyed it because it was seductive and sensual, sweet and tart, good enough to eat. As if on autopilot, you applied it to the same four spots: behind your ear, at the base of your neck, your wrist, and behind your knee. You retouched your lips next, staring at the tube of lipstick once you finished. It wasn't a color you wore until you moved in with him.
Steve picked it because he knows best.
When you looked at your beautiful reflection in the mirror, the urge to smash it began to surface. A flickering flame grew within you, threatening to spread like wildfire as you dropped the lipstick into the sink. There was nothing wrong with looking pretty for your husband. You just wished the person staring back at you was one you recognized.
I’m Cherry. I’m Mrs. Steve Rogers. I’m happy.
“Sweetheart?” Steve called to you before he gently shut the door. He was in a good mood at least. “Mmm. Something smells delicious.”
You straightened your dress and brushed off any negativity that bubbled under your skin as you went to greet him. Not a single blonde hair of his was out of place as he took in the sight of you. The need to impress him took over your thoughts. “Hi. Cookies are almost done,” you said, pressing your red lips to his cheek. “I didn’t expect you to come home so soon.”
“Maybe I just wanted to see my beautiful wife,” he asked as he slipped off his shoes and guided you toward the kitchen. Any excuse to touch you, he did. “Why? Are you not happy to see me?”
“I’m always happy to see you,” you said as you grabbed an oven mitt. The timer went off a second later and his eyes didn’t leave you as you carefully took the sheet out. “I just wanted to make sure everything’s okay.”
“Everything’s great,” he said, inspecting the cookies as you set them on the stove. You knew it was a wonderful batch without tasting them. The perfect man, he expected perfection in every extension of him. Which is why you didn’t make mistakes with any of your baking or cooking. "I have the best news.”
"Oh? What is it?" you asked curiously.
"Bucky’s married!" he said, taking you by the waist to twirl you around. “Can you believe it?”
"Married?" you repeated, not as happy as your husband. The news should’ve excited you since Bucky was his best friend, but it confused you. "I didn't know he was seeing anyone."
"No? I swore I told you he had his eye on someone,” he said with a condescending chuckle. “Makes me think you don’t pay attention when I speak to you, but that can’t be it, right?”
You went rigid in his grasp when he smiled. It reminded you of a demon, the shades of red and darkness showing in his eyes and perfect row of teeth. “It must’ve slipped my mind. Silly me,” you tried to giggle.
Like so many other things.
You didn’t relax until he kissed the corner of your mouth. “Because you’re so busy taking care of me, which I appreciate,” he praised you, his smile softer. Kinder. “And it’s better most days when I do the thinking for you.”
You bit your tongue so hard you almost drew blood, wanting to say that you were more than just a pretty face. The words didn’t come though. “You know best, Steve” you said as you plastered a smile on your face, your voice somewhat hollow after his insult. “And I love taking care of you.”
If he noticed your lack of enthusiasm, he didn’t say so. “Back to the good news,” he said, swaying with you even though there was no music. “It was a quick engagement and they didn’t want to wait. I wish I could’ve been at the ceremony, but I had that mission and I don’t blame him one bit for not waiting.”
“I’m sure he would’ve loved for you to be his best man.”
“He would’ve, but I'm happy that he’s happy. When you know, you know,” he said, tapping the tip of your nose. “Like the moment I met you. I knew you were going to be my wife."
Your smile faltered a little. It was difficult some days to remember just how you two came to be Mr. and Mrs. Rogers. You knew you loved him, but the actual process of falling for him? The build up of the relationship? It was like there was a chapter missing.
The past is the past and I have everything I need in the present.
Steve looked at you expectantly as you blinked. You needed to focus. “Just like I knew you’d be my husband.”
He hummed, seemingly pleased with your response. "We're going to meet her soon. Will you do me a favor, please? Make her feel welcome?" He suggested, but it was more like a command. He sometimes liked to phrase things in ways that made it sound as if you had a say in the matter, but his word was law. “Bucky’s my best friend and I want you two to be best friends.”
"Of course. It’ll be nice to have a new friend.”
“And once she’s settled in, I know they’re going to start trying for a family,” he went on, placing his hand on your stomach. “Which means we can try, too. Our kids can grow up together, the way Bucky and I did. Doesn’t that sound wonderful?”
Steve would be the best father. He deserves a family. So does Bucky.
“So wonderful,” you whispered, afraid you’d cry if you raised your voice. You wish you knew why the thought of having children with the man you loved scared you.
“Maybe we can start practicing,” he said, his voice huskier as he gripped your hips. “A bit of dessert before dinner.”
You didn’t protest as he backed you against the counter. Your body would welcome him home the way it always did. He’d please you as you pleased him.
“And Cherry?”
“Yes, Steve?” you asked as he dipped his head to inhale your perfume.
“Make a cherry pie for me to send to Bucky’s house. I don’t think he plans on leaving anytime soon and he isn’t letting his wife leave the bed. We can’t let them go hungry now, can we?”
“No, we can’t,” you replied, closing your eyes as he pushed your dress up.
“That’s my good girl,” he whispered.
Happy husband. Happy wife. Happy life.
All good in the neighborhood, right? Love and thanks for reading! ❤️

Underneath the Tree
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Reader
Warnings: Lightly smutty! Minors DNI! Angst and romance mostly
Work count: 1.4k
Summary: Dating Captain America during Christmas time certainly has its cons, but Steve is always there to make it up to you
a/n: ARE YOU EXCITED FOR SOME OOEY GOOEY HOLIDAY FICS??? I'm so excited for you to read this one. My first time writing Cap! Lots of Christmas fluff! Reblogs and comments are so so appreciated! Love you all <3
There’s a certain amount of Christmas Spirit that is expected from Captain America, that became clear the first year of dating Steve. Tree lighting ceremonies, Christmas parades, children’s hospital visits, charity galas, Christmas parties all across the country.
Christmas had become a marathon month where you saw less of your boyfriend in person and more of him in glossy PR images. You couldn’t go with him given your full time job. Everybody got a piece of your boyfriend but you. This year you were hoping it would be different, but here you were. decorating the tree by yourself. Partially out of an empty boredom and partially from loneliness that comes this time of year.
It was nearly midnight when you heard the lock of your apartment click, followed by the clattering chaos of Steve coming in. You could tell he was trying to be quiet, fighting against the noise from entering his bag of presents as well as his shield.
“Oh, you uh, you already got the tree decorated?” Steve asked, clearly disappointed. You had resisted decorating it for nearly a month. Steve and Bucky chopped down real trees after thanksgiving and it filled the apartment with a wonderful pine scent. You two put the lights on right away, bright multi-colored bulbs that made the room glow yellow, red and blue. But putting up the ornaments was something Steve had wanted to do together. Unfortunately, you didn’t get to be together much during the Christmas season.
So it stood tall and empty in your living room. A gloomy reminder of your lonesomeness most nights. He had promised you two would decorate it before Christmas, but that deadline was fast approaching.
He had lifted the huge sack of presents over his shoulder. You wanted to laugh seeing him in his Captain America get up, with a Santa hat and presents over his shoulder. He looked adorable but exhausted. He placed the gifts under the tree and took off his helmet. He ran his hand through his messy helmet hair then turned to you to give you a kiss.
“Well, it's going to be Christmas in eight minutes. So I figured I had to at least get started.” You said dryly. He sent you a sad smile.
“Thank you for saving the popcorn at least. It’s the best part of the tree.” He picked up the popcorn garland that he insisted on each year. A throwback to the old-fashioned decorations he loved. He had lost the argument about tinsel but popcorn garland was a mainstay.
“You should get some sleep Sweetie. You’ve got the ABC Special tomorrow.” Even with the smile on his face, you could see how tired his eyes were. There were dark bags expertly hidden under some TV make-up. He scoffed.
“What are you talking about? We’ve got to get this place decorated. I promised before Christmas.” He said already starting to get the garland strung up. “Any of the ornaments left? There’s room up at the top of the tree!”
You smiled at him. Your frustrations and resentment twisted in your stomach. It was nice that he was trying.
“I saved you the cutest one.” You handed him his personal favorite. Winter Fighter, a bootleg Bucky figure with both arms painted silver and no eyes. It made Steve laugh hysterically when he first saw it. You started to collect them, until you had a tree with nearly only ugly, knock-off Avengers merch. The red and yellow Mcdonald’s looking Metal Hero, Nordic Space Hero who had brushable blonde hair, the twisted plastic face and bulging eyes from the Commander USA ornament.
He hung the remaining ornaments with care. You really didn’t know how he still had the energy.
“I love Christmas. I always have. For a long time I didn’t really celebrate it because I didn’t have anyone to celebrate it with. So I'd filled my calendar with all of this - stuff. All of December I would get to see so many people and make their Christmas’s special. ”
“Except I haven’t really been here this year, have I?”
You shrugged, you didn’t want to fight but you didn’t want to lie either.
“I’ve seen like thirty Christmas tree lightings this month. But this is the only one that has actually made me feel anything.”
“Because it's so ugly and cheap?” You joked, lightly elbowing him. He doesn’t laugh, instead he grabbed your arm and brought you into him. He moved his hands to your waist.
“Because it's ours. I hate that I’ve been away from you so much. I keep celebrating Christmas with everyone except the one person I love most.” His voice broke slightly. You could hear his sorrow. You hugged him
The two of you embraced, you felt tender and vulnerable as you swayed in the soft light of the tree.
“This is all I wanted this year, just to be with you.” you whispered to him. He squeezed you tighter, you snuggled into his warm chest.
“Well, I guess there’s still time to return all these...” He sighed, gesturing with his head to the gifts overflowing under the tree.
“Hey!” You grabbed his chin as he chuckled at your indignation. “Let’s not get crazy here. You still have some things to make up for.” You kissed him again. He tilted his head and parted your lips with his tongue. He gently cupped the back of your head, his other hand going to your hip bringing you tightly against his body. He pulled his lips away, to lean down and scoop you up in his arms. You let out a squeal as he swept you up in his arms, placing your arms around his neck. He brought his lips back to yours as he started to carefully make his way towards the bedroom.
“Wait, wait!” You cried out. Steve stopped in his tracks, his head tilted to the side.
“I thought we were making up for lost time?”
“It’s just…the tree finally looks so good.” You said sheepishly, biting at your bottom lip. “It’s kind of romantic, don’t you think?”
Steve beamed. He bent down to nuzzle his nose against yours.
“Yeah Sweetheart, I think it looks great.” He spun around to place you down on the couch instead. He crawled over you, warmth radiating off of him as he boxed you into place. His lips met yours again, slowly moving against yours. His tongue teasing against your lips, asking for entrance. You wrapped your arms around his broad shoulders, hugging him closer, you’d missed him so much. You clung to him, hitching one of your legs over his, both of your lips dancing together.
You reveled in being surrounded by Steve for the first time in weeks. You basked in every part of him. The smell of his cologne, a cedar wood and musk, the sound of his breath hitching as you lift your hips to reach his, the roughness of his calloused hands and the gentleness of his lips.
“I love you,” he breathed.
You gazed into his blue eyes, filled with warmth and affection. His beautiful face was illuminated by the twinkling lights of the tree.
“I love you too Steve.” Glancing at the clock, you could see it was past midnight now. “Merry Christmas.” He glanced over his shoulder at the clock then back down at you. You could tell what was weighing on his mind. He was the Star - Spangled Christmas Man, he had places to be in about six hours. He cracked his neck then eased back down on to his forearms over you.
“You know, I think I’m starting to feel a little sick.” You cocked an eyebrow at him.
“Excuse me?” He let out a few performative coughs before burying his head in your neck. He started to slowly press kiss down to the base of your throat.
“I think I’m far too sick to even think about going out tomorrow. In fact, I think we are going to have to cancel all of my engagements, until the new year.” He continued his kissing down from your throat to your clavicle.
“Hmm well if it's that serious sweetheart, maybe you should just stay in bed all day tomorrow.” You suggested. You let out a happy sigh as his lips continued down to your chest. He snaked one hand down your legs, cupping your pussy and snapping your panties off.
You tangled your fingers in his blonde hair and you started to push his head further south, which he quickly obliged.
You knew you couldn't have your boyfriend all to yourself all of the time. But you’ve been very good this year, and you deserved it.

x Enjoy! x
Songbirds: When soulmates can hear each others music.
It had always been a bit of a sore wound for Steve growing up, the lack of music in his head. It concerned him and tore him up inside whenever the conversation was brought up, which it so often was.
His mother asked him about it everyday, excitement sparking in her eyes whenever Steve lied and said he heard a song. She would make sure to put it in the record player if they owned the vinyl, if not she would turn up the radio whenever it played. She always smiled and giggled at him, it gutted Steve to know he was lying to her.
The doctor always said that soulmates often try to communicate through music, and tried to work with him to recognize a message, but Steve did not need it since he knew the person didn’t exist.
He didn’t have a soulmate. The thought crushed him.
Bucky often joked about it when Steve finally came clean, saying that his soulmate was probably deaf and that Steve had to have one. This made him feel a little better and a new image emerged, maybe if they were deaf the only way they can listen to music was through him.
How could he deny his soulmate the taste of music?
So he listened to anything and everything he could.
He wore down vinyl after vinyl and when he wasn’t blaring the music he was humming it until he fell asleep.
He hummed to himself before he lost Bucky, he hummed to himself the day the ship he was flying crashed.
“If you’re real or you’re out there then I am so sorry for this.” He whispers, right as a loud crash sounds out and he is submerged within the depths of the water.
He would not be found for another 70 years, it would take 60 hours to dethaw him properly and stabilize his vitals. He would be asleep for another 6 days after that as doctors and nurses poured over his file over and over and over.
But that wasn’t the weirdest thing, no. The weirdest thing happened the day a nurse ran through the halls, her face red and splotchy as she summoned the doctor who followed closely. She tried explaining as much as she could as the doctor read through his file once more.
“This doesn’t make sense… it says he had a soulmate. He had confirmed it years ago.” The doctor mutters, reading the paragraph again.
“Tests were different then, right. They weren’t as advanced as ours.” The nurse tries, moving closer to the man unfrozen.
“I don’t get how this is possible….” The doctor mutters one more time as he blinks at the soldier.
Because Steve Rogers, still asleep from his time in the ice, was humming the tune to a song that had come out that very year.
(It’s 2012. I was imagining want u back by cher Lloyd but your music your choice birdies).
-
Growing up without any sound in your head while other kids were constantly bragging about theirs made you a bit angry growing up. The song time that your schools enforced, that you knew would never be sent to anyone else out there and made you grind your teeth in anger.
The tests you submitted to monthly, as everyone did, always just made it worse. When they put the metal sticks on your forehead, typing away at their computer as the sound waves to your brain showed up on the screen. They would play music on your end to make sure that it was working, your side always lighting up a light blue color flowers blooming and spreading across the screen. Well they looked like flowers but you knew they weren’t.
But when they turned off the music and did the ringing sound to try and signal your soulmate to answer back nothing came. Not a single thing came.
The screen always remained blank. Each. Time.
You learned to get used to it growing up, at some point the pain and anger ebbed into a phantom limb and you learned to move past. When your friends all found their mates you smiled and attended their weddings, always clapping when they danced to their first song that they found eachother with and sometimes if you were a little too into the drinks you let yourself imagine a life of your own. If you would have a deep song that you could slow dance to on your special night.
But when reality came crashing down it was right back to misery and you always hated the sickening feeling of realization so you tried to fight off those little daydreams. The ups were not worth the downs.
You listened to your own music, branched into hundreds of different genres and played the music so loud you could ignore the rest of the world.
But you were still subjected to the tests, every single month.
Like right now, with the metal readers strapped to your forehead as you sat back in the chair trying not to get agitated by the doctors pitying glance.
“It is good to see you again dear.” He smiles, sliding his stool over to his computer and typing something in. “I look forward to your fun jokes every month.”
“You mean my sarcastic wit that my mother says protects my feelings?” You bite out with a roll of your eyes, looking around the room.
“Ah. Yes. That.” He chuckles. “Alright, you know the process. We’re going to play some music on your end, to make sure the system is working. Then we’ll play the ringing at a frequency to try and rouse your soulmate into playing something back.”
“Just do it.” You snap, letting him press play on the music and turning to see the blue engulf the screen just as it always does. Then it stops and he plays a ringing, it makes your ears hurt as you close your eyes.
Even when he turns it off you can still hear them, like a fire alarm.
But once again. Nothing.
“Alright. Thank you for coming in today. It was wonderful to see you.” Your doctor smiles, and you leave once again feeling that dreaded disappointment.
But you don’t let it get to you, instead you head home and blast the loudest song you can when you make dinner in attempt to ignore the emptiness in your mind.
Maybe if you had kept the music down you might have heard the smallest humming in the back of your mind, an old tune answering the ringing.
-
A week after they first hear humming they decide they would do the updated soulmate test on the captain with dozens of people that were alive back then strapped to their own testing machines to see if any answered back.
“Alright. It’s all set up. Let’s take a step back and read the vitals.” Doctor Chen orders, making everyone step back as she heads to her computer. After typing a couple codes his brain waves fill the screen, and a moment later she starts playing music to make sure it works.
Blue clouds fill the screen, blossoming quickly at the sound before she shuts the music down, and then a second later ringing sounds and his brain waves crash in displeasure, sliding down and a black filling the screen as they watch slowly.
“Good reaction time for someone who had been frozen last week.” She murmurs which makes he nurse next to her laugh, but then after a moment it happens.
The screen that had gone blank at the silence blossoms with blues and greens as whoever is on the other end plays him something back, everyone staring slack jawed at the screen.
“Holy shit.” Someone murmurs.
“His soulmate is still alive.” Chen smiles, watching the screen.
-
It happened during work, while you were sorting through files needed for the next meeting, Stark tower empty in this section. It would fill up soon, officials and your bosses would file in within the next 30 minutes and you would be thrown into the chaos of the day.
So for now you were excited for the quiet of the building, breathing in as you set of the conference room with the correct lighting, water, pens and -
The music was so faint you almost didn’t hear it, like a staticky connection that was close to breaking at the slightest notch. You drop everything you had been holding and nearly fall to the ground on shaky knees. Your breath falling into ragged pants.
It takes a moment then it’s gone and you try to relax. It was just you. You’re tricking yourself.
And so you pick yourself up, shaky hands and shaky knees as you wipe the tears that had somehow began falling, moving to pick up your mess before the ringing began and you fall once more.
It’s the first time you had ever heard the ringing from their end and it hurt even more than you would have thought.
It travels down your spine as it traps itself in your head, ringing and ringing and ringing.
“Oh my god are you okay?” Someone calls, hands on your shoulders dragging your attention to the other assistant that worked alongside you.
“Ringing.” You gasp, hands clenched into fists as it finally stops, black spots filling your vision. “It’s so loud.”
“Yeah. It’s uncomfortable on the other end…. Have you never heard it before?” She laughs, moving to grab your phone, her face blanching when you shake your head. “Oh my god. You’ve never heard the ringing! That’s insane!”
You’re confused when she hands you the phone, giving her an incredulous look before she explains. “You have to play music back. The ringing is a call.”
“Right,” you nod, shaking as you grab your phone and pulling it close to pick a song, pressing anything random just to get it over with. You were too confused to process anything. You had never heard this, why now? How old was your soulmate? Oh my god was your soulmate super young? Were you a nasty cougar?
You were gonna vomit.
“I’m sorry, did you play Bee Gees back?” She laughs and you can’t stop a laugh from tearing from your own throat.
Good luck to whoever was on the other end of that.
-
It was a one off, something you couldn’t explain.
The doctors didn’t know how to explain it either, no one knew what to say about it.
They all gave you pitying glances and odd looks that just made you hate it so much more. You hated the fact that it happened in the first place.
A branch of hope on a dead tree, it didn’t belong there and you were desperate to tear it down.
So, as punishment for yourself, you stopped listening to music entirely. Your headphones stayed on your desk collecting dust and your office at work played no music at all. You refused it.
“Have you heard the new album?” Your friend calls out from her kitchen, you sat glumly on her couch clutching a glass of wine tightly in annoyance.
“No. You already know I’m not-“
“Listening to music blah blah blah.” She laughs, carrying in a tray of food. “That’s so silly. Come on. You love this band and what happened was weird. But it hasn’t happened since. You’ve heard no other music. Just give in and listen to something.”
“No. Stop pressuring me.” You snap back, shaking your head.
That night when you went to bed you grew more and more frustrated by the old music playing through your head, staticky and driving you nuts. After all this time you were finally going crazy.
You stressed about a soulmate so much that you couldn’t help it.
-
Steve couldn’t hear the music and it was killing him. He could barely register his own limbs, his body cold and numb, itching to move his fingers. He just wanted to hear the voice that started waking him up in the first place.
The wonderful, alluring voice, he was desperate for them to sing again. Hum. Anything.
Give me something. Anything. Please.
His fingers prick, the needle feeling passing through him as he tries his hardest to move them. Please please please please.
“His vitals are peaking. He might be waking up.” A voice whispers. “Let’s get the room ready.”
Please sing. Or hum. Or play something. Give me a reason to wake up. Please.
Before he knows it there is a radio playing on his side, a game by the sounds of it, and he can’t seem to open his eyes.
Then, louder than it normally was without the static sound, he hears the music in his mind. A soft violin sound, followed by a piano. It takes him a second to recognize the nutcracker, a smile breaking out as he did his best to open his eyes. For the person on the other end he would do this.
His soulmate. He would wake up for his soulmate.
-
“You can try to send messages.” Doctor Payne smiles, an actual excited smile for you. “Through the music. How long have you been hearing music now?”
“3 weeks.” You answer, nodding numbly. “And it’s like full now, if that makes sense. It’s not staticky. I can actually hear it now.”
“What have they been playing?”
“Old music. Really old music.” You smile. “I’m hoping to god it’s not a kid. The older music is a good sign right?”
You were back for your monthly visit, but this time you were excited.
“Okay. Do you recognize any of the songs?”
“Some. Not enough to get a message from it.”
“Okay. Let’s see.” He moves to type in the codes and your brain waves fill the screen. This time you chose the music, something old, and you get a little nervous.
“D-do we have to do the ringing? It’s louder on their end.” You mumble, body heating. “It hurts.”
“It was your first time experiencing it. That probably made it worse.”
“Yeah; but what about them? Won’t it hurt them as well?”
“Let’s see.” He smiles softly, the music stops. One breath, followed by another, and then the ringing starts and you close your eyes feeling a little guilty.
When it stops it’s silent, and you wait with shaky hands. And just when you think you’ve gone nuts and imagined it all, getting ready to bolt before Dr. Payne sends you to the loony bin.
But the sounds of the nutcracker start playing, and a wide smile spreads across your face.
The very song that you had played a while ago, the first song you listened to after your self inflicted punishment.
“I hear it.” You smile, and your doctor laughs.
“I can tell.” It’s then you look at the screen, seeing a mix of colors blooming along with the blue. Joy sparking in your chest at the new world.
-
He had rooms in the tower, and a tutor to try and teach him all the updated tech. But the furthest he could get was a flip phone, and that already confused him enough, but he has a radio that plays all the classics for him.
And he had whoever is on the other end of his mind, giving him enough music to listen to while he works out in the gym.
Right now, his wonderful soulmate, was playing something he didn’t recognize but didn’t mind. His blood thrumming as he fixed his leather jacket while trying to figure out his way through the halls.
“Dr. Chen!” He calls when he sees her, making the woman stare at him with wide eyes. “I was told you had done my soulmate testing? You were searching or something?”
He tried to maintain eye contact and be as respectful as he could, but all he could do was nod his head to the music and tap his hand as Dr. Chen smiles smugly at him.
“They playing music right now?” She asks, nodding her head for him to follow her as she makes her way through the halls. “What are they playing?”
“S-something about… living on a prayer?” He smiles, following her into her office as she turns back with a wave of recognition. “You know it?”
“Bon Jovi.” She nods, searching on her computer before turning to him. “The results from the nursing homes came back inconclusive. We tried reaching out to other clinics to see if anyone answered the call. They usually report it to their own doctors for a chance to narrow down the search so whoever you called definitely did not know what to do.”
A wave of guilt fills him at that, making him fidget a bit in his seat as the song changes to another upbeat song.
“Due to the progression of the music we do believe that you are connected to someone in their 20s to 30s.” A breath of relief falls from his lips that makes him feel even worse. He was just happy that his soulmate wasn’t waiting for him for 70 years. “The Taylor swift and Motley Crue mix clued us in on that one.”
“Who?”
“And the nickel back. There is no grandma out there listening to nickel back.” She laughs are her own joke, stopping short when she realizes he’s not laughing.
“Should I be listening to them? Who are they? Is it one person? Nickel?” He rushes out, feeling a little nervous. “Do you think they hate my old style music?”
“I have no idea on that one.” She laughs. “Take a breath. It will all be fine.”
He goes to ask another question before a ringing breaks his concentration, his eyes drifting to the phone on her desk. She rushes to pick it up, mumbling out a response before hanging up.
“They are sending someone down with some papers, but you can ask questions before she gets here.”
“That would be great. What is Nickelback?”
-
You had been playing music in your office all day, with no response from your soulmate unfortunately. That didn’t matter though, because you were still high and giddy at the fact that you had a soulmate.
But your little concert in your office was cut short when you were sent to hand off ‘top secret’ files to Dr. Chen. You found that everything in this place was top secret.
Right now everyone was freaking out over some science project that you had heard a couple whispers about. Something with ice and a man. Not much to figure out but it’s not like you cared.
You got this job by minding your own business.
And what did it matter anyways? You have a soulmate.
The halls to Stark tower were easy to navigate, and you still were so out of it that you got a little lost towards the end before you found her office, knocking lightly.
“Come in.” She answers and you swing the door, surprised to see a blonde haired man turning to you with big eyes.
The blue of them makes you stop short, a blush crossing your body as you blink before a wave of guilt crashes over you. You had a soulmate and you’re here ogling at this guy?
Come on.
“Sorry to interrupt. You requested these?” You look away, turning to her instead and passing over the files. “Have a good one.”
“Wait! Mr. Rogers here needs to go to the main levels but he might need help getting there. Think you can show him?”
“No problem.” You shrug, nodding at him without making eye contact and waiting for him to get up before leading the way.
-
Steve follows you through the halls after you introduce yourself, feeling a little guilty at the blush that crosses him when you look at him.
He had been so upset about not having a soulmate for the longest time, and now that he does he is getting flustered over the first beautiful gal he sees? Talk about shooting yourself in the foot.
“So you’re new here?” You ask after a moment of silence, pulling your badge out to get clearance for the elevator.
“Relatively.” He responds, trying not to make eye contact and keeping his voice short. He could not waste time flirting with everyone else when he had a soulmate out there.
“Right.” You mumble, obviously a little put off by the shortness in his tone as the elevator opens and you are both enveloped in with the weird music.
He wonders if his soulmate could hear it, feeling a little silly that they might think he was actually listening to this as you fiddle with your badge awkwardly.
After a moment he breaks the silence, pointing to the speaker. “You think your soulmate hears this music?”
Your eyes light up instantly, and you stand a little straighter. “Maybe. I hope they respond if they can. I love hearing their music back.”
“Me too.” He agrees, feeling something loosen in his chest at the mention of soulmates. “I can only hope they like my music too.”
“I’m sure they do. I’m always so desperate to hear them that I never really care about the music itself more of the fact that it’s playing.” You respond, nodding a bit when the elevator rings. “This is your stop,”
He thanks you, moving to leave quickly. But the further his steps make from you he still hears the elevator music playing, confusion lacing him as his soulmates humming begins to the same elevator tune.
He turns, down the hall, watching as the doors close with you humming inside. Recognition and sparks fly through him as he tries calling out, dashing to the door but it was too late and they were already closed. He tried to press the buttons but without an access badge it was useless.
And in his lame attempt of morality he completely missed your name.
Just his luck.
-
“You cannot be serious,” you laugh, rubbing your head in frustration as you try to sleep in a little longer. But it was no use, your soulmate was on a mission.
For the past 3 days over the weekend all that had been playing in your head was elevator music, over and over and over.
You assumed that whoever was on the other end took meal breaks because you got at least an hour each day of silence before they were back to it, the sound of it beginning to grate at your nerves. What had you done to deserve this abuse? This was truly incomprehensible.
Anger fills you as you launch from bed, stressed from the lack of sleep and snatch your headphones, digging through your playlist until you find the heaviest rock music you can. Two can play that game soulmate.
-
“Oh, good morning Mr. Rogers.” Dr. Chen smiles, her eyes bright with shock as she takes in his appearance. This reaction didn’t surprise him, it was the way everyone had been reacting as more and more people found out that Captain America was living in the building.
But this reaction from Dr. Chen was a bit odd considering she knew him by now. “I’m a bit shocked that you are up this early.”
“I usually spend time in the gym.” He rushes out, shrugging. “Can’t shake the military time- hey that person that dropped off the file the other day? Do you remember her- oh my.”
Before he can finish his sentence loud music blasts in his ears, making him cringe a bit. “Oh.”
“Are you okay?” She asks, reaching out to touch his shoulder.
“Yeah. Just my soulmate playing music I’ve never heard. But enough about that, that girl that came in with the files? You know her?”
“Yes! She’s worked here for awhile. Very nice. You liked her?”
“Well I think she’s my soulmate.” He blushes before launching into the tale.
She looks shocked and like she’s fighting off laughter when he stops. “You’ve been standing in the elevator all weekend? Listening to this music?”
“Yes?”
She laughs loudly before pulling him out of the elevator and walking him to her office. “I can guarantee you are about to have a very cranky soulmate.”
-
You were aggravated, thoroughly aggravated. At least the elevator music stopped but you had gotten no sleep.
So as you marched to your office just to see multiple messages requesting you to Chens office immediately and you groan loudly, snatching the headphones out of your ears.
Something had to have gone wrong with those files, and you were in no mood to get into trouble over it. Whatever stupid science project they had was beginning to grate on everyone and they were getting angry about it. You can pick up the tension easily.
Your pass allows access to the halls, spine tense as you make your way to her office, knocking lightly before it opens and you see her and the man from the other day standing awkwardly.
“Thank you for coming. It seems we’ve had a change of… situation.” She smiles before his hand shoots out to you and both of you jump back at the force of it.
“Sorry. Sorry. I’m Steve.” He blushes, easing himself a bit and relaxing his hand for you to shake once more.
“Rogers…. Your name is Steve Rogers.” You laugh. “How many times do you get asked about Captain America?”
He blinks at you and Chen snorts.
“I actually kind of know a Steven Grant. I haven’t met him in person but he works at a museum that we contact a lot and he’s actually so sweet.” You hush before stopping when you realize they are both staring at you. “Off topic. What’d you call me down here for?”
“I think I’m your soulmate.” He blurts.
“And this is actually Captain America.”
Holy. Shit.
-
For lack of better words you scram.
After years of begging the universe for a soulmate when you finally come face to face with the possibility of meeting your soulmate, what more was there to do but run?
Steve Rogers. Steve Rogers thought he was your soulmate.
You had so many questions. You had no clue where to run, so you stop short and turn back quickly, dashing back down the hall to run back to the office and you somehow run into him chest to chest sending you sprawling back on the ground.
“Jesus! You brick wall!” You shriek, standing up quickly as he blinks at you with his own panicked look.
“I’m sorry! I didn’t expect you to run back!” He rushes out, hands shooting out grab your shoulders in an effort to stabilize you. “I… I have so many questions.”
“Me too.” You blink, a moment of silence passing before you both blurt out a question at the same time.
“What was with the elevator music?”
“What music were you blasting this morning?”
-
“Nope. No.” Steve calls from somewhere else in the house, pulling your attention to the stairs and waiting to hear him rush for you.
Three years of marriage and you were still finding music he hated, right now that ended up being Cardi B.
You hear his feet on the steps and wait patiently until he comes into the door with a scowl. “Why do you do this?”
His eyebrows are pulled together in frustration as he shuffles closer to turn off the radio, looking around the room in his normal attempt to make sure everything is all safe. Just as he always had, checking every window and exit as a precaution before coming up to you and wrapping his arms around your waist and picking you up to kiss your lips.
“I liked that song.” You muffle against his lips, smiling cheekily which makes him sigh and pull back from the kiss.
“I could have gone my whole life without knowing what WAP was.” He groans, setting you down with a quick kiss on your forehead before moving to your computer to change the song. You watch closely, moving closer to his desk as he glares down at yours, typing slowly before he hums at his choice.
Even the smallest hum still sounds out in your mind, sending shivers down your spine before the sounds of cheesy elevator music sound out making you laugh.
“No! Please no!” You call, rolling your eyes as he dances closer until he gets to you and lifts you onto his desk so he can slot himself between your thighs.
“It was a great plan!”
“No it wasn’t!”
“I hoped you could recognize the music! I didn’t know your name and I had no access to the building!” He blushes. “I had to beg someone to let me onto the elevator every morning just to do it.”
“You know how long I heard people whispering about you before I actually met you.” You laugh, rubbing at his shoulders. “Now I love you, but if I have to hear one more track of elevator music I will burn this building down.”
He laughs, leaning to kiss you deeply before turning off the music and hauling you to your shared room.
After so many years of waiting for your soulmate it all ended up being with it in the end.

Masterlist
You take a deep breath as you climb out of the car. Your bags disappear as a production assistant ushers you down the walk way. “So you will stand here and we are gonna ask you a few questions, okay?” The camera man in front of you has a blank stare as he zooms in closer, the production assistant gives you a look from behind the camera, she motions for you to smile.
“I’m sorry, are we starting now? Like right now?” You ask as you look around, trying to take in the view for just a second. The assistant taps the camera man’s shoulder and motions for him to back up.
“Yes, we are starting now. But we can give you a minute if you need it.” She assures you, thanking her with a smile. “How about while we wait, you tell me about yourself. I actually don’t know anything about you, so leave nothing out.” The assistant chirps happily. You nod and smooth out your sun dress, your fingers fidgeting with the wrinkles.
“Oh, um okay. I thought everyone would know every nitty gritty detail of our lives before we got on set.”
“Villa,” the assistant corrects you. “It will make it feel more like home.” She smiles. You nod as you look around.
“Right, Villa. The Love Island Villa.” You say quietly as you turn around and look at the looming mansion behind you. The assistant motions to the camera man to start rolling again, but this time he backs up and makes sure to not be seen. The cobblestone driveway clicks beneath your heels as you shuffle around in place. Gazing up at the two story mansion before you, modern but still home like. The black and gray color that make up the exterior contrasts all the bright pink, orange, and yellow that make up the furnishings, and decor. The windows reflect the sun brightly and the greenery perfectly placed along the balconies and tresses are lush and full of life, and quietly under all the excess noise coming from the camera crew and the production team, you can hear the roar and crash of the ocean waves. You take a deep breath and turn back to the production assistant. “I’m sorry, I didn’t catch your name before.” You ask, extending your hand for a shake. She smiles and reaches her hand out to yours.
“Annie” She offers. You nod and shake her hand.
“It’s nice to meet you Annie, I’m Everly.”
“Nice to meet you, Everly. Now how about you tell us about yourself.”
🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
You spend the next hour making an intro video that will be played on TV. After that Annie sits you down and explains the rules of the show. “Okay, No leaving the villa before the end of filming, unless of course you are voted off. Have physical altercations of you will be removed from the villa by police and charges may potentially be filed. You can’t have your own personal phone or communication device of any kind. We will provide you with one while you are here and it is solely for the purpose of texting between production and the participants. You must adhere and pass all drug and STD testing while you are here or else you will be removed from the island. And lastly, have fun!” You hear everything Annie is saying and you just nod.
“Do people really fail their STD screenings when coming in?” You ask and Annie laughs.
“You’re be surprised! It also depends on what it is. If it’s easily treatable then we may keep you and just quarantine you.” You lightly laugh.
“Well I don’t plan on getting one.” Annie laughs.
“No one plans on getting and STD, Everly.” She guides you back to the car. “Alright, now that we’ve got you checked in and set up, we wait!” You scrunch your eyebrows.
“Wait?? I thought-“ you point to the villa.
“Oh don’t worry, you are on the island.” You take a breath at Annie’s reassurance, you’re not sure why, you didn’t even sign up for this stupid love show, your friends did it for you. “But production of reviewing all your information and the other girls information as we can decide what order to introduce you to each other.” Annie smiles and then whispers, “But you have nothing to worry about, you’re total bombshell material.” And with that Annie is gone.
**** 1 month ago****
“Nooooo!!” You drunkenly whine. “Sarah why?!” Sarah, your best friend since childhood laughs.
“Because! The last man you let touch you was that pathetic excuse of a boyfriend you had! You need love, Evie!” Sarah says sweetly as you pout and pour another glass of wine.
“I don’t Need anything.” You correct her and she raises her hands in surrender.
“Okay true, you don’t need a man or love. But it couldn’t hurt to let yourself have it. Just because you don’t need it doesn’t mean it isn’t nice to have.” You grumble, knowing Sarah is right. “This is a fun and easy way to get back into the dating world, and to meet a lot of hot guys while you’re at it! After everything with Colin and don’t even get me started on Brock-” You sigh.
“Yeah I guess.” You laugh to yourself. “You know what? You’re right! Why should Colin be the last guy who’s ever touched me?! He doesn’t deserve that title!” You exclaim, the wine finally settling in and carrying you to the loud drunk stage.
“Yes, that’s the spirit! Now, let me tell you all about the island.” Sarah giggles as she explain her favorite guilty pleasure TV show.
“So it’s like the Bachelor but better?”
“Yes!! And babes,” Sarah looks you up and down. “You are bombshell material!!” Sarah hypes you up. “Those eyes and that hair! Those lips and hips! Those boys will be eating out of the palm of your hand and those girls are gonna be Mad!” Sarah laugh and you giggle.
“I don’t want to make enemies!” You laugh nervously.
“To quote the age old, love island proverb, ‘it’s love Island, not friendship island.’” You bust out laughing, the wine finally making you lose your mind and Sarah is right there with you.
****
You smile as you think back to that night. Sarah had helped you with your shopping spree the next day. Bathing suits, dresses, cute outfits. All of it perfectly fitting your style and helping you stay true to who you are. You fidget with your sundress again as you look down at your freshly tanned legs and painted toes. You been sitting for almost an hour with no word from Annie, maybe they looked at all your stuff and changed their minds. Now they are hoping you get the hint and leave. “No, Everly. Don’t think like that. They would have brought your luggage back if that were the case. Stop worrying.” You say to yourself. You think about how your mom reacted when you told her you’d be gone for 8 weeks to be on a dating show. She about blew a gasket and then she laughed and cried and wished you good luck. Your sister promised to keep detailed notes so she could tease you mercilessly once you got back. Your dad and brother promised to not watch a single episode after they googled and realized what all could happen on the show. Your dad said, “I’ll meet whoever wins your heart after the fact. I don’t need to see you swapping spit with him.” You laugh out loud at that memory.
About five minutes later Annie walks back in. “Okay Everly! You ready to get changed? We have this bathing suit for you.” She holds up one from your suitcase.
“Did you go through my stuff?” You ask as you take the swimsuit from her.
“We have to make sure no contraband is snuck in. Don’t worry, we don’t touch any self care items we find.” She winks and your face goes red. You didn’t pack anything like that but you know Sarah and your sister, Lizzy were snooping around your bag before you got picked up. “Oh god, what did they put in there?” You mumble to yourself and Annie laughs having heard you.
“Well if it was your friends that snuck that certain item inside then they want you to have a great time, regardless of finding love of not.” You blush bright red and dart into the changing room.
You slip on your bikini, it’s royal blue and fits you perfectly. The bottom is full around your butt with the slightest bit of a cheeky cut. You adjust them again as you recall telling Sarah ‘none of those boys have earned seeing any more of my ass.’ As you look at yourself in the mirror you stand by your decision. The top perfectly supports your breast and honestly makes them look irresistible. You slip on your sandals and walk out to meet Annie. “Oh perfect! Although, are you sure you don’t want these heels?” She holds up a pair you brought from home.
“I’m sure, I want to keep the sandals for now.” Annie nods and then takes you folded up clothes.
“Okay, these will be placed in the bedroom with your suitcase,” she holds up your clothes. “Now we are going to film your entrance and then you walking into the villa. After that, you’re on your own until we check in with you. Okay?”
“Okay.” You take a breath and wait for them to say action.
You push open the main door and are immediately greeted with a giant neon sign that says ‘Love’. You smile and start to feel a little excited. You hear some others moving around upstairs so you make your way up. Passing by the living room, decorated ceiling to floor with pink, orange, yellow, and green and the kitchen with neon lights along the kitchen island and another neon sign that says ‘snacks’, you find the stairwell rather plain. But it open up to a giant room filled with 4 large beds. The floor is marble and there is a nice sized carpet in the middle of the room. The four beds face each other, two on one wall and two on the other, with a grand chandelier in the middle of the ceiling providing the light. At the very back there is an opening into the bathroom. A walk into shower, big enough for 2 and a tub big enough for 4, thankfully there seems to be a separate area for the actual toilets which there are three stalls in a little hallway on the other side of the shower. The shower is nestled in the corner with tiled walls except for the glass door and the tub sits under a large window that looks out over the yard. With further examination you see that there is in fact a door to the bathroom that can be locked, and that sets your mind more at ease.
You take another look at your surroundings and notice no one else is around. “So not the bombshell,” you sigh. “Great.” You explore some more when you hear people moving around again. “Hello?!” You call out, hoping to get an answer.
“Did you hear that?!” Says one girl with a sweet voice. It’s a little deeper and it has a Smokey sound to it, but still inviting.
“Yeah, it sounded like another girl!” The next girl says, her voice is lighter and softer, like velvet. You can’t tell there is the slightest bit of an accent.
“Oh great, the bombshell arrived.” The last girl says is a very proper British accent.
“Cut it out, let go find her and introduce ourselves.” The first girl says. You take a deep breath and prepare for whoever is about to walk out of the closet. First is a shorter woman, she has beautiful hair that is red at the roots and blonde on the ends, she’s obviously let it grow out and she’s absolutely owning it. She walks with grace and poise as she crosses the room to you.
“Hi, I’m Natasha. And you are?”
“Everly! It’s nice to meet you.” You smile at her and her friendly attitude.
“Likewise.” Natasha offers. Two more woman come walking out of the dressing room. One with bright red hair and soulful eyes and the other with brown curls and red lipstick.
“Did I hear your name is Everly?” The other red head asks, you nod. “It’s nice to meet you, I’m Wanda.” She moves in and hugs you, you’re a little taken aback but you don’t mind. The other woman stares at you over Wanda’s shoulder before she smiles and introduces herself.
“I’m Margret, but most people call me Peggy.” Her voice sounds familiar but you think nothing of it, You smile and wave
“Nice to meet you.” looking around and sighing. “So how long have y’all been here?” Natasha settles on the bed behind her.
“Not too long. Enough to get settled and get ready to meet the boys.” She smirks. “But before we do that we need to know more about you! Tell us a little something, Everly!” You laugh and shrug,
“Not much to tell! I am a physical therapist and I work primarily with Veterans who have been through a life changing physical trauma.” Natasha and Wanda beam at you and Peggy just gives a tight smile, you realize she looks familiar too but you can’t place her. “I had a boyfriend of 2 years until I found him in bed with someone else back in December. I dumbed him and have been healing ever since. My friend nominated me for the show and after some soul searching I decided I am ready to give this all a try, hopefully find Love and if not then at least have a good summer.” Natasha looks at Wanda with a smile.
“So you’re here for love too!?” Wanda asks.
“Of course, I mean that’s the name of the game, right?” You joke and she nods.
“I’m ready to settle down.” Wanda says. “Natasha here is on the love hunt too.” Wanda teases and Natasha laughs and rolls her eyes.
“I am open to finding love but if all I have is a summer of fun then so be it. Isn’t that right Peggy?” Natasha turns to the tight lipped, familiar lady standing on the other side of the group.
“Definitely, we are all here for our own agendas and our own lives. Whatever our reasons are, are our own.” Peggy says as she crosses her arms. You look at Natasha’s who gives you a face and you hide your laughter.
“Well said, Peggy.” Natasha answers. “Anyway, Everly what is your type?”
“My type?” You ask.
“Yeah! Like mine is nerdy and sweet.” Wanda offers. “Natasha’s is moody and loyal.”
“You make my type sound like a dog.” Natasha jokes and you three laugh.
“Oh I didn’t mean it like that!” Wanda exclaims. “If anyone’s type is like a dog it’s Peggy’s! Protective but able to take orders?!” The girls laughs and Peggy roles her eyes.
“I would have much appreciated if you had kept my ‘type’ to yourself.” Peggy crosses her arms. Wanda is about to apologize but Natasha stops her.
“Oh calm down Peggy. It’s a type of man, not your bank codes.” At that Peggy does crack a smile. “We are just having some fun, lighten up! It is too early to be making enemies and something tells me Everly is gonna be someone you want to be friends with.” Natasha winks as she looks at you and asks you again. “So Everly, what’s your type?!” You blush and look at your feet and then back at her.
“Well I am a hopeless romantic. The idea of meeting someone in a coffee shop and spending the whole day with them because the conversation and company is just that good? That makes me melt. So my type is the romantic, passionate, sweet type.” Wanda smiles and looks like she’s gonna melt where she is.
“Yes! Someone to sweep you off your feet and then defend you honor all at the same time.” You laugh and nod.
“Yeah, something like that.” Suddenly a phone dinging gets all of your attention.
“It’s my phone!” Wanda excitedly exclaims as she read sit out loud.
*Wanda, the boys are waiting downstairs for you to make your move. #showthemwhatyou’vegot*
Wanda looks up and about squeals from happiness. “I’ll see you all outside!” Wanda hurries down the stairs and outside. Natasha grabs your arm and drags you closer to the window.
“Can you see them?!” Natasha asks.
“No, not a one. But we will see them soon!” You answer back as you try to Crain your neck just enough to catch a glimpse. Natasha’s phone dings.
“Some of us sooner rather than later.” Natasha teases. “See you down there!” She runs down the stairs. You sit in silence with Peggy who looks like she’d rather be anywhere else.
“So what do you do, Peggy?” She looks over at you and politely smiles.
“I am a military contractor.” Peggy says. You nod not having a clue what that means. The awkward silence is broken by your phone dinging.
“Huh,” she smiles up at you, “guess they are saving the best till last.” You don’t even bother to look at her, you just read your phone.
*Everly, it’s time for a bombshell like you to shake things up. Two of the four boys are coupled up but those boys could still step forward and fight for a chance to couple up with you. #Gogetthem #bombshellalert #summerlovin’
🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
You feel butterflies in your stomach and you take a deep breath. “Okay, Everly. Let’s do this.” You walk downstairs and out to the back doors. You take another breath and decide to give it your best sexy strut. The big white doors open and the sun shines on your face, the warmth sends tingles down your spine. You toss your hair around a little as you start your entrance. Making sure you add a little bounce to your step as you descend the concrete stairs to the grassy yard. You take another deep breath, “hiya boys!” You holler and wave as you get closer. The four men in front of you stand with their eyes locked and jaws dropped. “I heard y’all were ready for some summer Lovin’. I’m Everly, nice to meet you.” You wink and walk even closer. Natasha cat calls you and Wanda cheers. The boys are mesmerized by you and just watches your every move.
“Hi, I’m Steve.” The tall, blonde, chiseled man to your right offers a bright smile as he itches to move closer to you. His eyes are a pretty blue and his smile is bright and infectious.
“Hi Steve.” You bite your lip a little and then smile.
“And I’m Bucky.” Says the tall, brunette, and just as chiseled man to the right of Steve. His eyes are a pale blue and his voice is so smooth, you can already imagine what sweet nothings would sound like coming from that voice. He holds himself proud and strong, you can tell he is a sturdy man. Natasha laughs and nudges his arm. She cocks her eyebrow and Bucky blushes as he looks back at you. You smirk and give a little wave and wink which seem to do the trick.
“Hi Bucky.” The next man is tall and blonde but his hair is shorter and a little spiky. His glasses are round a look absolutely adorable on him. He is a little nerdy looking but in a way that you totally love. He fumbles a little and looks between you and Wanda. Wanda smiles and gives him a nod.
“I’m Jake- and wow! Oh I’m sorry-” He looks at Wanda who nudges him.
“No I agree,” she looks back at you and smiles. “Wow is right.” You notice Steve fidgeting and you can feel Bucky’s eyes admiring your form. You dart your eyes to the side and he knows he was caught. You smile to let him know that you don’t mind it at all before you shift your eyes back to Jake.
“Well, thank you, Jake. That was really sweet.” You coo as sweetly as you can before you walk in front of the last man in line. He is of course, tall, his skin is beautiful and glowing in the sun. His abs are incredible and he stands as though he was military. He smiles and has the smallest gap in his front teeth. It’s kinda cute.
“Hi, I’m Sam.” He says as he stands straighter and looks you up and down.
“Hi Sam.” You offer back with a nice smile. You look at the boys and give them all a contemplative look. You are very interested in all of them but you don’t want to ruffle any feathers, at least not on the first day that is. “Okay, I am going to couple up with-“ You see Natasha elbow Bucky and he jumps forward.
“Now wait, you’re supposed to ask us to step forward if we are into you.” He gives you a shy little smile. You blush and look at Sam and Steve who just shrug. Sam steps forward, Bucky eyes him and steps forward as well. You are caught off guard, of course you want men fighting for your heart, it’s nice to be wanted. But so publicly and at the express of the new friends you’ve made.
“Now boys, hold on-“ you start but are interrupted by Steve.
“Well if we are really doing this,” Steve says as he walks forward. Jake shuffles around and Wanda squeezes his hand.
“Step forward if you want, Jake. It’s okay, it’s the first 30 minutes of knowing each other, no one should be too attached at the moment.” Jake shuffles forward and stands shoulder to shoulder with the other three men. You blush and look at each guy overwhelmed by their interest in you.
“Well, I am very flattered but I don’t want to step on any toes.” You start to explain again when Natasha interrupts you.
“No need to worry, Everly. We just met these guys and we have all summer to woo and win them back if you take them.” She winks and you laugh.
“Well how about you tell me about yourselves.” You say and Sam speaks up first.
“I am a retired airman. Now I work in security. I’ve got a boat I love to work on back home and I’ve got jokes for days.” He smiles and you laugh, teasing him a bit.
“So it takes you days to tell a singular joke? Must not be that funny.” You wink and Sam laughs as he shuffles around.
“Oh we’re gonna have fun.” You shrug and move on to the next.
“Jake? What about you?” Jake smiles and adjusts his glasses.
“Well I’m retired military as well. Actually I’m supposed to be dead.” You gasp and he shrugs. “Anyway, I have a niece I am crazy about and I’m really good with computers and tech.” He smiles proudly and you can’t help but smile back.
“I’m sure your niece is very proud of you.” You assure him and Jake beams back at you. You then turn to Bucky.
“Oh my turn? Right, so I am a retired army Sergeant. I now work as a carpenter, me and my buddy started a construction company a few years back and it’s going pretty well. I also do some freelance security work.” You laugh as you ask.
“What does that mean?”
Bucky smirks at you. “If I told you then I’d have to kill you.” He winks and you blush and promptly look at Steve.
“I am a retired army Captain,” he looks at Bucky as he emphasizes his higher rank, and Bucky lightly laughs and shakes his head. “Funny enough I also work in carpentry and have a business with my buddy. Who I also work in freelance security with on the side.” Everyone looks at each other and then back at Bucky and Steve.
“Wait,” you ask. “You two are friends? And know each other from the outside?” Steve and Bucky laugh and nod.
“Yeah, Buck and I go way back.” Steve answers as he squeezes Steve’s shoulder.
“Childhood friends and all. Someone had to keep him from getting his teeth kicked in.” Bucky says as he puts Steve in a headlock. Sam and Jake are laughing, the girls are all in shock and Steve pushes Bucky off of him with a loud laugh. You look at Natasha and she cocks an eyebrow.
“You’re also all veterans, huh? Everly what was it that you do again?” Natasha taking on the role of best/worst wingman in the world. You clear your throat and wish away the blush rising in your cheeks.
“I’m a physical therapist. I work with Veterans who have experienced life changing physical trauma.” All four boys look at you in awe.
“WOW, that’s amazing.” Sam says.
“Could have used one of those when I got out.” Jake says jokingly.
“I bet you’ve helped a lot of men and women get back a little piece of themselves.” Steve admires.
“I know the work you do, mine changed my life after my accident.” Bucky admits, that’s when you notice the faint, white scarring across the left side of his chest and left arm. Your professional curiosity is about to get the better of you but you quickly snap back to the task at hand.
“I do what I can, I hope I’ve made a difference.” You gently smile at Bucky and he gazes back. Natasha clears her throat.
“So Everly, you gonna steal one of our guys?” You look at Natasha and then back at Bucky and Steve. You smirk and playfully answer back.
“Now Natasha, it wouldn’t be any fun if I stole them, they may choose me on their own.” You wink and Natasha give a playful laugh. Bucky looks like he’s about to melt where he is and Steve looks about ready to jump out of his skin. “Well I don’t want to ruffle feathers and we have all summer, plus this guy looks about as sweet as a golden retriever and I need that energy in my life.” Wanda looks a little worried, thinking you’ve got eyes for Jake. You assure her by flicking your gaze to the man you are choosing. “I want to couple up with Steve.” Steve punches the air and gives you a big hug as you jog over to him. You stand by his side as you wait to Peggy to make her entrance. She comes waltzing down the stairs and you feel Steve shift around a little but then he looks at you with his deep blue eyes and you melt. He takes your hand and give it a reassuring squeeze. You then hear Bucky whisper to Steve, “I thought they usually saved the Bombshell for last? After Everly my head is spinning so much I can’t bring myself to focus.” Steve agrees. You blush and try not to let it go to your head.
“Well, hello boys.” Peggy says sweetly. “Seems most of you are coupled up,” her gaze flicks to Steve, “but we could change that. Step forward if you fancy me.” Sam steps forward and so does Jake. She looks at Steve and then her eyes float to you. You can tell Peggy is gonna cause some trouble in the future. “Hmmm I think I will couple up with this tall, handsome man right here.” She takes Sam’s arm and Jake shuffles back to Wanda who promptly wraps her arms around his. You get a text.
*Islanders, these will be your couples until the next recoupling. Which may be sooner rather than later. Take some time to know your partner and the fellow islanders. #flirtaway #mixitup*
You turn and look at Steve, he smiles down at you and then looks around to find a place to talk. “The daybeds look like a nice quiet place to talk, wanna?” He asks and you nod.
“Lead the way.” You two make you way across the lawn and pass the pool to the little covered patio on the other end of the lawn. The daybeds lay three in a row and face the rest of the yard. Steve sits down first and you crawl on the bed next to him. As you get settled you meet his gaze and his eyes flick from yours to your lips and then back again. Blushing and looking away, Steve lightly laughs, “So, tell me a little about yourself, Everly.” He reclines and rests one arm across his chest and the other behind his head. His smile is warm and he stares at you like you’re the most important person in the world, you feel butterflies erupt in your stomach as you meet his gaze.
“Well, as I said before I am a physical therapist but I also do some writing on the side. Helps take my mind off of work and lets me escape a little.” Steve raises his eyebrows in surprise.
“A writer too? WOW, what kind of stuff do you write?” He asks as he sits forward, even more intrigued.
“Romance of course!” You tease and Steve laughs. “But really, it’s love stories and teeth rotting sweetness. Just something to lighten up my mood after a hard day.” Steve beams at you and reaches out to squeeze your hand. “Humm what else? I have a sister and brother that I adore and my parents have been married for almost 30 years. I’m pretty easygoing, I love to spend time with friends and my loved ones.”
“Do you live near your family?” Steve asks as he rubs his thumb over the back of your hand.
“I do, but not so close that they would drop by unannounced.” Steve laughs and nods.
“I know what you mean. My mom lives across town and I make sure it stays that way. Don’t get me wrong, I adore my mom, but sometimes you need your own space.”
“Yes!” You exclaim. “Sorry,” you apologize for your loudness, looking around to see if anyone was disturbed by the outburst. All you see is Peggy staring at the two of you. “Umm sorry,” you laugh, “But I totally get that. My sister drops by sometimes unannounced and well let’s just say she has seen some things.” You blush and Steve lets out a loud laugh.
“Oh really?! What kinda things?” He smirks and leans a little closer, itching for the juicy details. You blush even more.
“Umm like an afternoon delight in the kitchen.” You cover your face and Steve pulls your hands away.
“Hey, no need to be shy!” He smiles kindly at you. “Would it make you feel better if I told you an embarrassing sex story too?” You laugh.
“Absolutely!” You cross your legs and lean your elbow on your knees and as you gaze up at him. He laughs and starts to blush himself.
“Well I was still enlisted when this happened. We were out on assignment and were waiting for the all clear to move in on our target. We were board and well, one of the M.A.S.H surgeons decided it would be fun to play strip poker. One thing led to another and me and her were in the back of the humvee going all the way.” You interrupt him.
“Steve this just sounds like your bragging about getting laid in a war zone.” You tease and Steve holds a hand up.
“Hold on, I’m not done.” He laughs and looks up at the sky, “Right as we were about to finish, the back door to the humvee opens.” You gasp and Steve nods, “yup, apparently while we were naked they radioed that we had to move out immediately. Everyone was geared up and ready to go but when they opened the door all they saw was my ass-“ Just then You hear Bucky and Natasha walking over, Bucky decides to finish the story for Steve.
“Yup! And that’s why we lovingly called him America’s ass the rest of his enlistment.” Bucky grins and pats Steve’s back. You try not to laugh as you look at a blushing Steve. He just nods and gives you permission, and you can’t hold it in anymore.
“Oh my god, that’s horrible. And kinda funny.” You laugh and Steve smiles, he likes your laugh, it’s sweet and light. He could listen to you laugh all day.
“I’m a big boy, I can handle being laughed at. But can you Bucky? Should I tell Natasha your embarrassing sex story?”
Nat laughs and looks between the two of them. “You two swap sex stories?” You giggle as you look back at Steve.
“Well yeah, don’t you?” He teases Natasha and she nods in agreement. “So Bucky are you gonna tell it or should I?” Bucky shrugs and looks at you with a smirk.
“Go ahead Stevie.”
“Stevie?” You question with a smirk of your own, Steve blushes and nods.
“Something my mom and my overprotective best friend always called me growing up. Now it’s just whipped out in times where he wants to be condescending.” Bucky laughs and agrees.
“Well I like it, Stevie.” You reach out and ruffle his hair and he catches your hand and give sit a kiss. “But back to the topic at hand, Bucky’s embarrassing sex story!” The four of you laugh and Bucky raises his hands.
“I was with a girl and her dad caught us. Walked right in there for a visit and apparently he had a key. And we were taking advantage of the great lighting in the living room of her apartment.” Natasha gasps.
“Wait?! As in like videos?!” Natasha asks, Bucky blushes and you want to see him do it again.
“If I said no would you believe me?” Bucky says to Nat and she laughs out loud.
“What?!? Like only fans???” Natasha asks, not weirded out at all but interested.
“Yes but it wasn’t mine. It was hers and it was a 1 time thing. We met at a bar and we were gonna hook up so she asked if wouldn’t mind being filmed. I said I didn’t care as long as my face and voice weren’t shown. So we set it all up and got to business. Her dad caught us before we could finish. So the video was deleted and that was my short, non-existent only fan’s career.” Your jaw is dropped and Natasha is laughing. Steve can’t breathe he is laughing so hard. “Anyway, it was for the best cause that was my first and only 1 night stand.” Natasha stops laughing.
“Wait really? Not trying to shame you, just wondering why.” Natasha asks as she takes his hand in hers. He smiles at her and then his gaze flicks to you before he answers.
“I’m more of the romantic type. I can flirt the pants off any women in a heartbeat but 99.9% of the time I then promptly ‘put them back on’. I’m kinda old fashioned in that way, I like it to mean something. Actually now that I think about it that story is kinda sad cause I was going through some shit and I was kinda in a spiral.” Bucky looks from you to Steve. He then lightly laughs. “Way to bring the mood down, Buck.”
“No, you didn’t, Bucky.” You assure him, taking his hand and giving it a squeeze. “Thanks for sharing. And I think that’s sweet about wanting it to mean something, I’m like that too, hopeless romantic and all.” Bucky’s eyes light up in a way that only you catch. He nods.
“Thanks, Everly.” He then looks at Natasha. “So, what’s your story?” Before she can answer her phone dings. “Saved by the bell!” She laughs and opened the message as she screams for the other to join.
“I got a text!!” Wanda and Peggy run over, followed by Sam and Jake.
*Islanders, head to the fire pit for a steamy game of Truth or Dare. If the fire isn’t burning by the end then a switch up may be coming your way. #Hotandheavy #getthefirestarted #sparksareflying*
You and Steve look at each other and then back at Natasha and Bucky. “Sounds like if there aren’t sparks flying then that decoupling might happen sooner than we expected.” Bucky says as he looks at you and then back at Natasha. “We should probably head over.” He says as he stands up, you three follow him over to the fire pit. It’s sits right below the deck and has a built in bench that circles around half of the fire. The cushions are soft and brightly colored to match the rest of the house. You sit next to Steve and feel Peggy’s eyes on you. You glance her way and she avoids your gaze. Steve notices your face and gives you a nudge.
“Everything okay?” You meet his gaze and offer a small smile.
“Yeah, just I seem to have already made an enemy without even trying.” Nodding your head in Peggy’s direction as you whisper. Steve hums and takes your hand in his.
“I’m sorry, anything I can do?” He rubs the back of your hand with his thumb and you blush a little.
“Maybe get those sparks flying so we can stay together?” You give a flirty look and Steve bites his lip as he watches you.
“Oh I can definitely do that.” He smirks as he leans in closer, so close his lips graze your temple. “But maybe I should wait for the game to start.” He pulls back and winks and you just melt. You look across the fire pit and see Bucky, his eyes are soft as he watches you and your stomach does a flip. You give a small smile and Bucky has to bite his lip so he doesn’t break out the biggest smile. He clears his throat and looks at Natasha.
“So how do we play?” His phone dings, “Guess I could have waited 1 second and I would have gotten my answer.” He laughs and opens up the message.
*Islanders, each person will get a chance to pick a truth or dare card. Each card is a steamy dare or a sexy truth. Now let’s get the fire started because whoever you have the most chemistry with is who you will go on a date with tonight, and it might not be who you are partnered up with. #isithotinhere #letsgetstarted*
Bucky meets your gaze and you shift around a little. His eyes are so captivating but you can’t get caught gazing at him when Steve needs to be your focus. You turn your gaze to Steve and he smiles down at you. “Okay, who goes first?” Steve asks, his phone dings and he reads the message, “Looks like it’s me.” He smirks as he walks up to the deck of cards on the edge of the fire pit. Drawing the first card and a letting a big smile break across his face. “I got a dare card and it says ‘kiss the hottest girl for at least 15 seconds’. They don’t have to tell me twice.” Steve turns and looks at you, he walks over and pulls you up from your seat, your heartbeats faster and your gaze flicks to his lips as he leans in closer. Soft gentle lips graze yours and at first it’s sweet and tame. Then his arms wrap around your body and pulls you closer as his tongue gently pushes against your bottom lip, you hold back the moan that’s about to escape you when you hear the timer go off. Everyone cheers and claps. Sam whistles and Jake says some joke about it not counting if there wasn’t tongue. You blush as you pull back and open your eyes. Steve has the cutest blush breaking across his cheeks and nose, give him a ‘sun-kissed’ look and it’s so cute you could melt. You sit and pull Steve to sit down with you, holding his hand and trying to hide your blush from everyone else. Natasha meets your gaze and gives you a killer smirk.
“So Everly, sparks?” She asks and you blush even more. Steve lightly laughs and looks down at you.
“I’d say there were sparks flying, huh?” You nod and Steve pats your thigh as you two sit back.
“Okay, my turn!” Jake shoots up and grabs a card, “Truth! ‘Have you ever faked it to get out of a horrible lay?’ Well I feel this would have been a question for one of the ladies, but surprisingly I have.” Jake looks at Wanda and she just laughs.
“Wait, how?!” She asks, you’re genuinely curious too.
“Well, we weren’t naked yet and I felt horrible about doing it but I also didn’t want to sleep with her if I wasn’t into it. So I just kinda-“
“Oh my god,” Sam exclaims. “You faked getting off in your pants to get out of having sex?!” He looks at Jake and Jake hangs his head.
“Yeah, I did.” The boys laugh, Wanda speaks up.
“I mean it’s sweet you didn’t sleep with her when you knew you weren’t into it. But you could have told her the truth too.” Jake nods and agrees.
“I know that now! Then I was 17 and just wanted to get out of there and get home.” Jake explains. Wanda rubs his back and gently smiles at him.
“It’s okay, Jakey.” She assures him and Jake blushes and acts all shy. Bucky laughs and shakes his head. Natasha stands up and grabs a card. Her perfectly sculpted eyebrow cocks as she reads the card. “Huh, I got a dare and it’s says, ‘Sit in a boys lap who isn’t your partner for 2 rounds.’ Sorry Buck.” She smirks as she walks towards Steve. “I hope you don’t mind,” she sits on Steve’s laps and gets herself comfy. “Rules are rules.” She shrugs and you laugh and shrug. Steve looks anything but uncomfortable. You just roll your eyes and laugh. Nat continues to move around a little at a time, knowing exactly what she’s doing. Sam goes and his was a truth. He had to share what a perfect date would look like. “And then we’d end it back at my place,” he looks at Peggy. “What do you think of that?” She shrugs.
“Seems okay.” She focuses back on the others and Sam sighs and looks over at Bucky, who offers him a pat on the shoulder. It’s your turn and as you walk up everyone cheers you on, you do a little dance as you get closer and it has everyone in stitches and cheering even more.
“She’s got the moves!” Bucky yells as he smirks. You look back at him and wink.
“You ain’t seen nothing yet.” You flick your hair and seductively bend down to get a card. You know your ass looks good and you know Steve and Bucky are looking at it. Hell maybe even Sam. “It’s a dare-oh Lordy it’s a spicy one. ‘Make out with someone who isn’t your partner for at least 30 seconds.’ Hmmm decisions, decisions.” You look around at everyone and their hopeful faces. Steve pipes up.
“Come on Everly, take your pick. You should pick me no matter what the cards say.” He winks. You laugh and turn to face him.
“Just for that I should make out with Natasha while she’s still in your lap, just to tease you.”
“Please do that!” Sam almost yells.
“Oh god yes!” Jake exclaims.
“Don’t tease us!” Bucky warns
“I’m game if you are.” Natasha smirks. You giggle at all the reactions.
“I won’t do that, mainly because I am straight but also because I’m sure these boys would explode in their pants, and for real this time, right Jake?” You tease and he blushes while everyone else laughs. You throw him a wink and he smiles. “But I’ll give you this.” You walk over and gently peck Natasha’s lips. It’s over before it begins but it affects the boys all the same.
“Shit,” Steve mumbles and you hear the other boys curse beneath their breaths too.
“Now onto the actual dare.” You turn your attention to Bucky. You walk over and move right between is legs. He is laid back casually as he watches you lean closer and closer. As you start to climb in his lap and straddle him his ‘cool vibrato’ breaks and you see his pupils dilate. His eyes flick from your lips to your eyes and then back to your lips. He moves his hands from the back of the bench and slowly moves them up your back, watching your eyes to see if it’s okay. You gently smirk, “this okay, Buck?” Without answering he crashes his lips to yours as you wrap your arms around his neck. He moves his hands to your head, threading his fingers in your hair. You move your hands around his shoulders and feel his chest rise and fall beneath your fingers as he nudges your lips with his tongue. Without a second thought you let him and he licks into your mouth, both of you completely lost to the moment. When you break apart you are gasping for air and your lips are a little swollen. Bucky’s pupils are blown wide and you can feel his heart pounding beneath your hands. Everyone is cheering and whistling as you two come back to earth, under his breath so no one else can hear him, Bucky says.
“Fireworks, absolute fireworks. You just lit up my world, Everly.” You blush and give his chest the slightest squeeze wanting him to know you feel the same way. You quickly climb off and walk back to Steve. You meet Natasha’s gaze and she gives you a knowing look as she passes by and smiles to reassure you that she would have done the same thing. You find your seat next to Steve and shyly look up at him.
“Hi,” you say and he lightly laughs.
“Hey,” there is the slightest bit of worry in his eyes and you reach out and squeeze his knee. “Wish that had been me.” Steve admits and you smile before you let your gaze fall to the ground and then back at Bucky. You turn back to Steve and whisper.
“There still plenty of time left in the game, I’m sure we will get a chance.” You kiss his cheek and he blushes and nods.
The rest of the game isn’t as exciting. Wanda does a little dance for Jake who absolutely loves it. Natasha shares about her threesome experience. Sam has a dare that makes him get close and personal with Peggy who doesn’t hate it but definitely doesn’t love it. The whole time Peggy has her eyes on you. You Ignored her sighs as you settled next to Steve. Even when Bucky and Steve went again and chose you to carry out their dares with. One was to dance with you and the other was to make direct eye contact with you for a full minute. Bucky’s eyes are incredibly beautiful and you didn’t have any issues. Steve knows just how to move and he got your blood pumping towards the end. The whole time Peggy sat there, tight lipped and looking at you like you had killed her dog. When it’s her turn she stands up and grabs her card. “It’s a dare, ‘Kiss your partner until the other islands say stop.’ Well, I-”she looks at Sam and then back at everyone else. She doesn’t speak she just makes a b-line to Steve grabs his face and plants a big kiss on him. And Steve makes the mistakes of going along, his hands along her body and kissing her back.
“Whoa?!” Yells Sam.
“The card said your partner, Peggy! Steve?!” You exclaim, jumping up from where you are sitting. Natasha and Bucky walks towards the scene right as Peggy steps away. She gives a smug grin to you all.
“I know what my card said. I also know what I wanted. I’m fine with breaking the rules to get what I want.” She saunters back over to Sam who stands up and walks to the other side of the fire pit. Steve stands there shocked, with his hair messed up and red lipstick all over his lips. He looks down at you and sees the hurt in your eyes.
“Everly, I’m sorry. But it’s part of the game.” Before you could speak Natasha is standing up for you.
“No me sitting on your lap or Everly making out with Bucky was a part of the game. You helping Peggy break the rules and obviously enjoying it while doing it, that isn’t a part of the game.” You look at Peggy and her smug look, all you want to do is cry. You don’t know why, you just met Steve and it’s not that deep or special, but it’s something about the way Peggy looks at you and seemed to hate you from the moment you met. A text interrupts your thoughts. Sam speaks up.
“It’s mine.”
*Islanders, the game is over. The dates tonight are as follows.*
“Anyone have a text yet?” Jake asks. His phone dings, “oh I do!” He reads it out. “Jake and Wanda. We got a date!” Wanda smiles and kisses his cheek. Sam’s phone dings.
“Let’s get this over with,” he reads it and his eyebrows raise. “Sam and Natasha.” He looks at Natasha and she gives him a flirty wave and wink. “Well, alright.” Sam’s mood looks like it’s improved quite a bit. Steve’s phone dings.
“Steve and-“ he stops and looks up at you and gives you a sorrowful look. “And Peggy.” Your heart sinks and Peggy jumps up and comes to sit on the other side of Steve. You wait and wait and no text comes. Jake gets another one.
*Islanders, those are all the dates. Please head to the room to get ready. #Dates #loveisintheair
You try not to cry, it shouldn’t hurt but it does. In the shows eyes you didn’t have chemistry enough with anyone not Steve and not even Bucky. You feel sick to your stomach and can’t meet anyone’s gaze. Steve tries to talk to you but you just pull away because you can’t let him see you cry. Right before your voice breaks you croak out a, “go have fun, find me when you get back.” And with a kiss on the cheek you disappear to hide until they are gone. You sit up on the terrace and wait to hear their voices drift away as they all leave through the front door, the cars staring and driving away, leaving behind only the sounds of the ocean and your quiet sobs. Sitting there watching the sun set you remember that 1) you need to eat and 2) you aren’t here alone. So you make your way to the kitchen to whip up dinner and then you go to find Bucky. He’s sitting by the pool with his legs dangling in the water. He hears you walking up and he turns around to look at you before he waves you closer.
“Come join me, Evie.” You smile at the sweet nickname he just gave you.
“Thanks, Buck.” You offer back and he lightly laughs. Leaning back on his hands and watching as you sit next to him.
“Well, no matter what that dumbass game says, I think we had some pretty fire chemistry, don’t you?” He says, trying to lighten the mood. You give a sad smile and nod. Bucky sits up and nudges your shoulder. “Hey, talk to me. What’s going on?” You shake your head, “Look I know Steve can be a dreamy guy,” you laugh and wipe a tear away. “But even he isn’t good enough to have a beautiful girl like yourself crying over him.” You sigh and wipe away more tears.
“It’s not that, I umm-“ you take a deep breath and look at Bucky. You can tell he is trustworthy and kind, the way his eyes dance over you and not in a sexual way but in a protective and caring way. “I had a boyfriend, we broke up back in December because he was cheating on me. I found him with the women in our bed.” You can feel Bucky straighten up next to you, he puts his hands in his lap and you can tell he is squeezing his hands together. The thought of another man hurting you that way makes him angry, and that is incredibly comforting. “I thought I heard something so I stood by the door and waited. I heard a women say, ‘I know and I don’t care.’ Amongst other things. So, I walked in while they were in the throws, I wanted to make sure he saw me as I walked to the bedside table and grabbed my charger and bags before I glanced at her and then just stormed out.” Bucky puts an arm around you and rubs your shoulder before he leans in and kisses your head.
“I’m so sorry, Evie.” Bucky whispers against your skin.
“So Peggy swooping in and stealing Steve and Steve just going along with it,” you look up at Bucky, “well it opened up some old wounds.” You sigh again, “and I know that’s how this show goes and I know we’ve known each other for not even a day but it still hurt, you know?” Bucky nods.
“Yeah, I do.” Bucky looks at your lips and then back at your eyes. “I’m sorry he made you cry and I’m sorry Steve did too.” He leans in closer. “No man should ever make such a sweet, beautiful girl like you, cry.” And right when you think he’s gonna kiss you, he lifts up and kisses your forehead. A sweet and very kind gesture. “Well since we have this place to ourselves, let’s get to know one another, huh? No more tears unless they are from laughing too hard.” Bucky suggests and you agree.
“You’re right! Even if we apparently had the worst chemistry of the entire bunch, we can still have fun!” You laugh and so does Bucky. He shakes his head.
“Nah, we had chemistry, I think they did that for dramatic effect. And it worked. But now we are here, by ourselves for hours.” He smiles and raises his eyebrows and suggestively. “Whatever shall we do?!” You smirk and lean in really close, close enough to almost kiss him but you don’t.
“We should,” you say slowly. And Bucky nods.
“Yeah?” Bucky asks.
“Totally stake claim on the good beds and eat the best ice cream before those losers get a chance.” You giggle and Bucky nods.
“You read my mind!” He laughs and stands up, pulling you up with him. “Let’s go!” Dashing off to the kitchen you eat the dinner you made and talk about your jobs. “I love what I do and it pays well. But there’s just something about building something from scratch- something about creating that is its own kind of therapy, you know?” You agree and just smile and listen as Bucky goes on about the business he has. “So you work with Veterans?” You nod and sit back, pushing away your empty plate.
“Yeah, a lot of men and women who have lost limbs or have gone through some type of trauma that affects their mobility.” You look at Bucky as he nods and finishes his last bite. You bite your lip, trying to decide if you should ask about his injury or not. If working with Vets has taught you anything it’s that you don’t just casually bring up things that could trigger their PTSD. Bucky looks up at you and he can tell what you’re debating in your head. He smiles and sits back.
“You can ask, I can handle it.” You gently smile and sit forward.
“What happened? What was your official injury?” Bucky takes a drink of water and then sits forward to meet you halfway across the table.
“Roadside IED. Humvee hit it while we were making our rounds. It wasn’t there earlier that day but it was that afternoon. I’m a sniper, well was a sniper, so I was sitting in the nest on top on the car. We hit the bomb and I went flying, as did the car. I woke up and my left arm was hanging on by the bone and only the bone. There was also a large part of the Humvee keeping me pinned. I was in and out so I don’t know how long I was there but I know Steve was the one who saved me.”
“Really?” You ask, trying to control the emotion in your voice. Bucky nods.
“He was back at base and when we didn’t check in they sent out the search team. Knowing I was out there Steve demanded to be a part of it.” Bucky laughs. “He found me and damn near tore every muscle in his arms trying to lift that piece of Humvee off me. He saved me and got me back to base. From there we I was stabilized and sent home. It’s only a miracle that they saved my arm.”
“You have full range of motion and sensations?” Bucky smiles and looks down at his empty plate and then back up at you.
“If you’re asking as a professional? Yes, I can move and feel everything and I have my regular check ups to make sure there is no late onset nerve damage.” His tongue darts out quickly wetting his bottom lip, “if you asking as the woman I’m trying to win the heart of? Yes, I can pick you up carry you upstairs and feel every inch of your body if you’d let me.” Your heartbeat quickens and your eyes flicker to his lips and then meet his gaze again. He smirks and then sits back as you quickly regain your composure. You blush and get up to grab the ice cream.
🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩
“You like mint?!?” You exclaim as Bucky takes a bite. He laughs and defends his choice.
“Not exclusively but maybe I’m just wanting to freshen my breath in case you wanna repeat our dare from earlier. Or make me prove that my range of motion and sensations are fully intact!” You giggle and run away from him as he chases you, trying to kiss you. You run to the pool and one thing led to another as you both go crashing in. You emerge gasping for air and laughing so hard as Bucky pulls you closer. Your laughter dies down as you gaze into each others eyes, growing closer and closer as he backs you up against the pool wall, taking your face in his hands and leaning in. Right as your lips are about to meet, your phone dings. Coming back to your senses you climb out and grab your phone reading the text.
*Everly and Bucky, you guessed correctly. You two had the most chemistry out of all 4 couples and we thought you deserved some private time while the others enjoyed their group date. But the privacy is almost over as the other islanders are on their way back. #Sparkswereflying #recouplinganyone?*
You look back at Bucky and he walks closer to you. Taking your face in his hands. “Well now I won’t feel bad about doing this,” he kisses you as his hands dance across your skin and your arms wrap around his neck. He moans into the kiss as your bodies move closer and you gasp as he bites your bottom lip before soothing it with another kiss. When you pull apart you stare into each other’s eyes and know that this summer is only about to get more interesting. Bucky moves back in but you stop him.
“I can’t- I know Steve and I aren’t exclusive but- I chose him, Bucky. I have to try, please understand.” Bucky sighs as he takes your hand.
“He’s on another date as we speak.” Bucky says.
“And technically so am I. How do you think he will feel when he finds out we got a private date, away from prying eyes.” Bucky sighs again and shakes his head.
“Okay, fine but you can’t deny what we have, Everly.” He pulls you closer and brushes your wet hair away from your face. “And I’m not giving up, I’ll be here. Natasha is great and I’d probably fall for her if you weren’t here but I meant what I said after that dare.” Your breath catches, it’s the first day, could you really have found it all on day one? “You lit up my world, Evie. And I’ll go about this however you need it. But I’m not giving up.” You let out a shakey breath and pull him into one last kiss before pulling apart and putting some space between you two just as the front door opens and the three couples come walking inside, loud as ever.
“Hey! What did you two get up to?!” Natasha yells as she motions to your soaking wet clothes. Steve walks closer and eyes you two intensely. You both laugh and play it off pretty well.
“Oh, well we were having a debate over which ice cream was better and it got heated and Bucky chased me and made me fall in the pool. I made him jump in too as pay back for ruining this perfect outfit.” You give Bucky a playful shove and he picks you up and hauls you over his shoulder, ready to throw you in again.
“You wanna go in again?!” He teases and you yell and try to wiggle free. He tickles your sides. “I don’t know, what do you think Steve?!” Steve laughs.
“Okay Buck, put her down. I think you’ve tortured her enough tonight.” Steve walks closer and pulls you into his arms and kisses your forehead. You feel Peggy’s glare bore into your back as Steve ushers you away. You look back and see Bucky watch you walk away with Steve. Nat and Wanda come up to comfort him and usher him towards the kitchen. “So how was your time here?” Steve asks once you get settled on the day beds.
“Good, got to know Bucky a little bit. Can see why you two have been friends for so long.” Steve nods. “He also told me the story about his arm.” Steve sighs and squeezes your hand.
“Yeah that was a scary time. But thanks to people like you,” he kisses your hand. “He is back to his old self.” Steve looks down at you and his eyes flick to your lips. “Man I really want to kiss you right now.” Your heartbeat quickens.
“You do?” You ask, a little unsure. Steve nods and closes the distance between both of you. Your lips crash to his and he slips his hand behind your head. He pulls you closer and you feel your cheeks starting to heat up. He pulls away too soon and rubs his thumb across your cheek.
“Wow, now that was worth the wait.” You blush and curl up next to him as you gaze at the stars.
“So how was your date?” You feel Steve shift and tense up. He clears his throat and you sit up to look at him.
“Well I want to be honest with you,” he hesitates, “Peggy kissed me and I didn’t exactly stop her.” That angers you more than it should and you don’t know why. Especially considering what you and Bucky got up to.
“I really like and care about you but I’d be lying if I said Peggy didn’t turn my head a little.” You sit back and create some distance. “I’m sorry, Everly. I just want to be honest.” You nod and sigh.
“No I appreciate that. And I guess I should be too.” You take a breath. “Bucky and I kissed while everyone was gone. We got to talking and flirting, we had a heart to heart because I was sad after yall left and well we kissed.” You meet Steve’s gaze and he seems a little upset but about as much as you were at his news about Peggy. He then sighs and leans his head back.
“Was your head turned?” Steve asks and musters up the courage to look at you.
“A little, yeah. But I told him that I chose you and I wanted to see where things go- if there is anything here, you know?” You explain and Steve nods.
“Yeah I get that.” He takes your hand. “Thank you for being honest.” You gently smile and kiss his cheek.
“Always,”
“Good to know. So are you gonna tell me why you were upset?” Steve asks as You lean back and stare at the stars.
“Just something earlier today reminded me of my ex who cheated on me. It made me more emotional than it should have. Not sure why though,” you shrug it off. “Anyway, Bucky helped and talked me through it.” You smile at the sky and Steve catches the fondness that washes over your face as you think of Bucky. He wished it didn’t hurt.
“Well I’m glad, Bucky is a great man.” Steve says as he pulls your attention back to him. “So are we all in until a recoupling potentially pulls us apart?” You smile and look at Steve, you see Bucky over his shoulder and he seems to walking your way. He gets there before you could answer Steve.
“Hey! A couple of us are gonna have a late night swim.” His gaze dances over you. “You two wanna join?” You look at Steve and you can tell he’d much rather talk but something in your eyes must have told him differently because he looks a little sad and then answers for the both of you.
“Sure!”
You are getting changed into a bathing suit as you hear two people in the bedroom.
“Did you tell her?!”
“No! Why would I?!”
“Because-“ you accidentally knock over a can of hairspray and it clangs loudly. The people who were talking quickly rush out of the room before you can see who they were. Thinking nothing of it you head down to the pool where the party seems to be in full swing.
“Oh there she is!!” Bucky cheers and whistles.“The party has arrived! Everyone Evie can do an excellent cannonball, saw it myself.” Bucky teases about earlier. You walk over and he knows what’s about to happen and he accepts his fate as you push on his chest and he backflops into the pool. You laugh and jump in after him. Natasha swims over and gives you a look that tells you, she knows everything.
“So a little birdy told me that had we been gone longer then we might have needed to treat this pool.” You blush and shake your head.
“No, nothing like that was gonna happen.”
“But something did.” She smirks. She sees your guilty face. “Oh that face better not be for me, because Bucky is hot, I’ll give you that but I’m not feeling it. So you are not stepping on my toes.” You sigh out of relief.
“I told Steve that my head may have turned.” You admit. Natasha hums.
“And how did he take it?” She asks.
“Pretty well. Said his might have too. But we still wanted to try while we are together.” You say and Natasha nods.
“So where is he?” You look around realizing he isn’t there. “He should be here with you, in the pool, grinding all over each other in the water.” You laugh and look around again.
“I actually don’t know where he is.” You go to climb out. “I’m gonna go see if I can find him.”
You grab a towel and head to the day beds and what you find as you get closer makes your blood boil and your heart breaks. Peggy is straddling Steve and making out with him while she moves his hands over her body. You hear Steve trying to get her to stop, to slow down, telling her that he is with you and that he likes you. “I’m with Everly, I like her-“ but she’s not listening, not respecting his wishes. You are speechless and then you hear her say it, “I know, and I don’t care. Touch me.”
It all comes back to you, standing in the hallway of your own apartment as Colin fucks some girl in the bed you share. “You know this will never go anywhere. I love Everly.” Her laugh and response, “I know, and I don’t care. Touch me.” You storm in to grab your stuff and you see her brown curls draped over your pillow and her legs around your boyfriend. Peggy was the women who fucked your boyfriend.
“YOU FUCKING BITCH!!!”
Next
A/N: So I don’t like Peggy is you couldn’t tell 🤭. Also I know Colin is actually a sweetheart but let’s just say this was during his fuck boy phase. 🤷🏼♀️.

Best Friends
Pairing: Steve Rogers x Best Friend!Reader Summary: You and Steve are best friends, but your friendship is tested when someone tells you he has feelings for you. Warning: fluffy Steve(I mean come on look at the gif) probably cussing.
Steve was your best friend and you were his, well except for when Bucky was around. You admit you were jealous of Steve and Bucky’s friendship, it was like Bucky could do no wrong in his eyes. No matter what he always had Bucky’s back, he had yours too but not like he was with Bucky, it was just different maybe because they’ve known each other longer, they both fought in the war, who knows. You and Bucky always competed for Steve’s attention. You were suddenly pulled from your thoughts by the feeling of air brush past your ear you turned your head and there he was, Bucky throwing a piece of bread at you, why bread you’ll never know. “James” You groaned throwing the bread back even though you knew he would dodge it Why did you throw bread at me?” His smile turned into a smirk and read your face chuckling at your annoyed expression. “Because I’ve been calling your name and you’ve ignored me each time.” You got up from where you were sitting and walked towards him, standing firmly in front of him staring deep into his beautiful blue eyes “What can I do for you today, Mr. Barnes” He licked his lips but then rolled his eyes seeing that you were joking, yet he loved when you called him ‘Mr. Barnes’ but Bucky knew Steve liked you, maybe was in love with you. Bucky chuckled smacked your forehead with another piece of bread “Okay dude seriously stop with the bread” He rolled his eyes leaning against the kitchen counter “Steve wants us to go pick up some things.” You looked at Bucky knowing Steve asked him to pick up things but he didn’t want to go alone, of course you went, an outing with Bucky was always an adventure. You got to embarrass him in public, which was your favorite past time. You grabbed your shoes and followed Bucky out the door and into the car “You know, Steve talks about you a lot.” You looked over at him while he drove “What do you mean? How?” Bucky stared forward tapping his fingers against the steering wheel “He goes on and and on. Y/N did this, Y/N did that, did I tell you Y/N said the funniest joke the other day.” He rolled his eyes as if he was jealous that Steve talked about you nonstop, you couldn’t help but feed into it “Aww is little Bucky jealous?” You giggled while poking his cheek “Oh hush, I am not jealous. I’m just tired of hearing your name all the time.” You smiled wide looking back out the window “You’re jealous.” You mumbled while still looking out the window. You finally reached the grocery store, it was one that you went to often so many people that work there know you by name and greet you like they’ve known you, your whole life and you love it. Bucky grabbed a shopping cart and began reading things off of the list, but you weren’t listening all your attention was on a very attractive, tall, dark and handsome man, you knew Bucky would definitely intervene if you tried to talk to him when he was around “Hey, I’m going to run to the bathroom real quick, I’ll be back.” Bucky groaned and waved you off. You weren’t a bold person but maybe he’ll make the first move, so instead of walking directly up to him you went to the left side of the aisle while he was on the right, you pretended to look at cereal in hopes he’d see you and make a move. Just as you were about to give up and walk away he bumps into you, knocking the cereal you had out of your hand. “Oh I am so so sorry I didn’t see you there” He reached down to pick up the cereal and that’s when you saw his eyes, they were a gorgeous green color with little brown flecks, you took the cereal from him nodding your head “Thank you, I mean- It’s okay, I’m Y/N” You stuck your free hand out to shake his “I’m Bradley” He shook your hand smiling wide, damn even his teeth are perfect “I am truly sorry about the cereal uh, I know this is a little forward but do you want to get dinner sometime?” You nodded exchanged numbers and found your way back to Bucky.
You were getting ready for your date when you heard a knock on your bedroom door, you yelled for whoever it was to come in and that you were in the bathroom. You looked out the corner of your eye and saw that it was Steve, he leaned against the door frame watching you fix your makeup, Steve was in love with you and has been wanting to tell you for ages but there was never a good time, he thought maybe now but with you all dressed up and makeup on your face he knew you were going somewhere “Earth to Steve” You waved your hand gently in front of his face “Oh sorry I was lost in thought, where are you going?” You straightened your skirt while looking at yourself in the mirror “I have a date tonight” His head went back a bit “Oh, okay.” He started to walk away “Wait, Steve what did you want?” You walked after him, grabbing his bicep so he’d look at you “It’s movie night, but you have a date it’s okay. I’ll make Bucky pick the movie.” You mentally smacked yourself you forgot all about your weekly movie nights “No wait, I’ll call Bradley and let him know I can’t make it.” Steve shook his head “Go on the date, have a fun time if you need us we will be right on the couch” He leaned down and kissed your forehead “Have a fun time.” And just like that he walked out of your room, not giving you a second glance. You shrugged your shoulders and walked down the stairs and out the door after saying goodbye to the boys, you met Bradley at the restaurant you didn’t feel comfortable having him pick you up, you didn’t know this man and you have to be careful nowadays. You found the table Bradley was sitting at and walked towards him, he stood up pulling your chair out, helping you push it in before sitting back down in his chair. “I’m glad you agreed to go to dinner with me.” He smiled cheekily, which you returned back to him “Never thought I’d be asked out in the cereal aisle of the grocery store.” You both shared a laugh and continued talking getting to know each other until the waiter came up. “Can I start you off with something to drink?” Bradley told the waiter what he wanted and all you wanted was a water the waiter excused himself and you two went back to talking all while looking at the menu, you felt eyes on you but you decided to shake it off, you’re in a public place people look around. Bradley was talking about his work as a lawyer and you tried your best to listen to him but that feeling of eyes on you crept up again, you looked to your left and there he was. Bucky. You rolled your eyes and looked back at Bradley “I’m sorry would you excuse me for a second.” He nodded and you politely got up and marched over to Bucky’s table “What are you doing here” You whispered/yelled Bucky looked up at you then back at your date “I’m making sure you’re okay.” You groaned and took his menu from him “Go home, Im fine.” Bucky rolled his eyes and walked out of the restaurant.
You walked back over to Bradley “I’m sorry, where were we.” Bradley looked at you with a raised eyebrow “Boyfriend?” Your eyes widened and shook your head “Oh god no, overprotective brother.” He nodded in response to your answer then continued talking about himself, that’s when you realized he never asked anything about you, he went on and on about his accomplishments and awards and many many women he’d dated. You were getting bored and wanted nothing more than to go home and watch a movie with Steve and Bucky. Finally the food came you looked down and it was an array of vegetables on top of a small piece of chicken you looked up at Bradley “I’m sorry, I ordered for you. I don’t want you to feel heavy after dinner I have big plans” You were taken aback by the audacity of this man, what did he mean to feel heavy and what plans did he have after dinner “Um, thanks but I can’t eat this.” He raised an eyebrow “And why not? Y/N let’s face it your eating habits aren’t the best, I barely know you and I can tell” What the hell is that supposed to mean, was he calling you fat? You nodded your head and gently placed the napkin that was folded on your lap back on the table. “It’s been a pleasure getting to know you but I think I’m going to leave.” You stand up, putting your jacket on “That’s a little rude don’t you think?” Your head snapped in his direction “Rude? No, what’s rude is you calling me fat, well trying to.” Your blood boiled as the man tried to defend what he meant even though you knew exactly what he meant. “You know what you’re right, you could lose a few pounds and when you do, call me.” Your fists were balled, angry wasn’t the word, you picked up his glass of red wine and dumped it all on his head earning a gasp from everyone in the restaurant “How about I never call you again since I’m so fat.” You picked up your purse and stormed out of the restaurant and into your car. You slammed the steering wheel, cursing at yourself for being excited about the date. The drive home was silent, in fact, you don't even remember the drive home all you know is that you were outside the compound staring straight ahead. You slowly got out of the car walking inside, you past Steve and Bucky who were still on the couch watching a movie, Steve looked over at you "Hey, how was the date?" You groaned and continued walking up the stairs, you slammed your door shut, falling face first on your bed. You screamed into your comforter wishing you could get the time you wasted back, you wish you would’ve just went home with Bucky instead of going back to that table.
You sat up on your bed peeling off your clothes so you were only left in a bra and underwear “This was such a disaster, girl you spent hours on your makeup and for what? A loser” You scoffed and walked into you bathroom wiping the makeup from your face, you heard a knock at your door, at this point you didn’t know who it could be and you didn’t care, you kept taking your makeup off ignoring the footsteps you heard getting closer and closer “Oh, uh- Y/N I’m sorry” You looked over and saw Steve covering his eyes “It’s fine Steve, you’ve seen me naked before it’s not a big deal.” He slowly uncovered his eyes and kept eye contact even though he wanted nothing more than to let his eyes wander and take in all you had to offer. “I’m assuming the date didn’t go well?” He leaned against the doorframe watching you wash your face “He called me fat.” You looked over as Steve stood straight up, his face turning red and you swore that you could see steam coming out of his ears like a cartoon character, you watched as his fists balled and clench “He what?!” Steve was very protective of you, no one is going to do anything to you as long as he was around. “Steve it’s fine, I should’ve just went with my gut and went home with Bucky when I caught him at the restaurant.” You shrugged your shoulder drying your face off, you turned and walked out of the bathroom, slightly brushing past Steve, you were at a loss for words a feeling that you haven’t felt in a long long time, it gave you butterflies, but you shook it off. It was Steve, he was your best friend nothing more nothing less, maybe. You finally put on your pjs and sat on your bed “Listen, Y/N, why don’t you come finish this movie with us, we can cuddle and i’ll make a Bucky go get all your favorite snacks.” You thought for a second “Come on, it’ll be fun.” You looked up at him and he was giving you puppy dog eyes, you rolled yours “Fine fine, I’ll come. But Bucky better get all my favorite snacks” You pointed a finger at him then followed him down the the living room “Bucky, can you run to the store and get all of Y/N’s favorite snacks?” Bucky looked over and before he could say anything sarcastic he saw the look on your face and nodded “Yeah, I’ll be back, pick out a movie” He stood up and grabbed his keys, you’ve never seen Bucky so soft before, he really cared about you, it almost made you feel bad for yelling at him at the restaurant earlier. Steve grabbed your hand and pulled you to the couch, sitting down first then pulling you onto his lap “So, what do you wanna watch?” You watch as he scrolled through countless movies, when your eyes landed on White Chicks “Oh that one” He clicked on it and pressed play “Shouldn’t we wait for Bucky?” Steve groaned and threw his head back “He’s gonna take forever” You giggled at his whining and kissed his cheek “You’ll live, so how was your day today?” Steve shifted in his seat so he could hold you better “Pretty boring, Tony had us training all day for an upcoming mission” You both went back and forth talking about random things until Bucky came home with 4 big bags of snacks “I know I don’t like that many things” He huffed and placed the bags on the table “You do, but anything for you” Finally you guys could watch the movie although half way through you fell asleep, well sort of. Steve rubbed your back not taking his eyes off the movie “When are you going to tell her?” Steve looked over a Bucky with his eyebrow raised “Tell her what?” Bucky gave him a look then rolled his eyes “That you’re in love with her.” Steve quickly looked down at you then back at Bucky “It’s never been the right time, and tonight is definitely not the right time.” Bucky scoffed and turned to face Steve “If you don’t tell her by Friday, Im telling her.” Steve stared at him for a bit, that gave Steve 4 days to tell you how he feels and if he doesn’t Bucky definitely would, he knows Bucky would and he needs to figure out how he’s going to tell you, because he knows you deserve the best.

BUCKY BARNES X STEVE ROGERS
⊹₊⟡⋆🌀 STUCKY HEADCANONS : 550 WRDS
<RATING: PG, KISSING DESCRIPTIONS>
A/N: HIIII I know who you are and you do too. I hope you like these headcanons MUCH LOVE!! <3 ALSO Please take into consideration that this is my first time writing two canon characters together so this might be ass; so sorry 💔
SLEEPING .
Steve has nightmares. Bucky has nightmares. There is not a single night that goes by where one of them doesn’t have some horrid nightmare about the other.
When Steve wakes up from a nightmare about Bucky, usually one of him being taken back by Hydra, he will try his best to gently wake Bucky up. “Bucky? Could you please wake up? I had another,” he mumbles to him. Bucky tries his best to wake up before proceeding to hold Steve to his chest. He lets him know that he’s not going anywhere and that no one is ever going to separate them again.
Bucky, on the other hand, is more discreet about his night terrors. When he wakes up from them, he’ll gently trace his fingers along Steve no matter how they’re cuddling. He’ll tighten his hold on him while being careful not to grab him too tight. If he’s facing Steve, he’ll press a few kisses to his cheek or forehead.
WORKING OUT.
You can’t tell me these two wouldn’t love working out together. C’mon. They’re super humans that are together. They are the only two they can equally compete with each other.
They have their own little tournaments for different exercises and such—their personalized olympics in a way. They love to go out running together too, obviously. Considering their equal power, they keep up normal conversation while working out with each other.
CLOTHES .
When Steve and Bucky started dating, they’d occasionally steal clothes from each other. The longer they’ve been together, the more they steal from each other. At this point they just buy clothes for each other, wear them a couple of times, then just toss them into the other’s side of the closet.
Even when they’re out shopping, one of them will point out something they like; it’ll be bought and worn. “Steve, you see that tank top?” Bucky asks while pointing at the most generic-looking tank ever. Steve smiles softly and nods his head. “Yeah, but you’ve already got a whole collection of them. Same size, same color—some of them are even the same brand. You don’t need more,” he rants to Bucky. In response, he smirks and shrugs. “You might be right, but none of them have been yours yet. I need one of yours,” he says. Of course it ends up being bought.
AFFECTION .
They’re so affectionate with each other. Those two do not play when it comes to affection. Praises, physical affection, the whole package.
Bucky is more intimate in a way with his affection. When he kisses Steve, he likes to rest his hands on the small of his back, arms around his waist. Other times he’ll grab Steve’s biceps tightly and dig his fingers into his arms. When they cuddle, Bucky prefers to be facing Steve or have him pressed against his chest. His favorite forms of affection have to be skin caressing and back rubs.
Steve is a little less intimate but still enjoys being close with Bucky. When he kisses Bucky, he prefers to have their fingers intertwined or hold each other’s faces. As for cuddles, he likes to have Bucky’s head in his lap or on his stomach, or have Bucky lay directly on top of him. His favorite forms of affection are handholding and playing with each other's hair.

how things worked out
Bucky Barnes x Reader
a/n: this is a prequel to a mini series I will be writing called Invisible String.
summary: looking back at your past relationship with steve rogers and how it led to finding the love of your life - life is funny, isn't it?
The post office was packed, no surprise there. People carrying packages that range from hefty to manageable in their arms. The air was stuffy but that was to be expected inside a government facility. The slow shuffling of the line would have been a nightmare for an impatient person, but you were fine just waiting in line. You needed to get the small package out as soon as possible and if that meant waiting eons, then that was that.
The package in your arm wasn’t the usual boring brown; you had opted for one of the festive boxes that the post office offered. It was blue with colored polka dots with a printed faux light blue ribbon around it. It was cute and the contents inside of it was even more adorable – three pairs of onesies in various colors, a small blue beanie and the cherry on top, a toddler sized newspaper boy cap. Oh, it was precious when you saw it at the baby boutique and knew Steve would die when he laid is eyes upon it.
Steve Rogers.
Damn that man for being so wonderful.
The thought of him made you smile, when for a long time, it crushed you. The mere thought of his existence in the world, knowing he was off being great without you at his side, paralyzed you. When all the years you spent with him didn’t matter in the end, at least that’s how you felt. Now, ten years older and so much wiser, thinking of Steve made you realize how great life was. How grateful you were to have had the time with him, even though the relationship ended badly. It was all over the tabloids of your mind; the memories and tears, the fighting and the loving…
“Come dance with me.”
“Everyone will see,” you laughed, fully aware of the crowd of people. The two of you were at a farmer’s market and a band was playing near the food stands. Lights were hung over the trees, illuminating the night with its softness. Steve, so boyish in the face, just smiled and held out his hand. He didn’t care and if he didn’t care, why should you? So, you took his hand and shyly allowed him to bring you to the dance floor. No one else was dancing, but he pulled you into his body as if in a bedroom; one hand around your waist, while the other held your hand against his chest. Your head rested against his shoulder; hand slipped up his back as the music swirled in the air. In that moment, the people staring felt insignificant. You felt exceptional – the star of the show, with Steve at your side, kissing you on the forehead and both of you wishing the song would never end.
It did though.
“You can’t be serious, Steve…”
His eyes lifted from the ground. “We both know this isn’t working anymore. Bucky’s driving down to help me move out, I want you to have the apartment.”
Hand on heart, you feigned a smile. “Oh, my hero. Always a gentleman.”
“Don’t be like that, come on…. we…” his words drifted, as you two did. It had been six months of really trying to get back to that place of love but falling short at every attempt. “…I can’t live like this anymore, I’m sorry.”
The line moved a person forward and you moved along. Staring down at the package once more, you laughed at the thought of sending your ex a baby shower gift. Who would have thought? After all the years of hating Steve, you grew to appreciate him. Growing older had made you learn some civility and you were able to understand that the two of you were never a happy ending match. The same could be said for him, he was compassionate enough to understand how you felt. He understood that the pair of you were just too young, hadn’t experienced life. That breaking up had been the best thing to do, and you thanked him for his graciousness. That same graciousness allowed him to understand and approve of what would conspire years later between you and his…
“This line is insane.”
The familiar voice, warm and low, brightened the room as you gazed over to man who appeared next to you. Bucky stood there in a thin black dress shirt and dark jeans; he handed over a takeaway coffee cup and leaned in for a kiss. He kissed you twice and took the package out of your hand, so you could take a sip. The coffee was delicious, and you thanked him, nodding to the line ahead.
“We’re going to be here for a while.”
“You sure we need to send this to Steve?”
Bucky was teasing, but you insisted that it be sent today. “We’re already missing the baby shower next week; we need to get this out today.”
“Not our fault they decided to have the baby shower the same week we leave for Europe.”
You smacked his arm with a quiet laugh, and he beamed, wanting to kiss you a dozen more times but the line moved. He settled for staring lovingly at your face as you took another drink of coffee, and he felt his body warm. His eyes flickered down to the package in his arms, and he couldn’t help but wonder how everything ended up this way – not that he was complaining. The breakup between his best friend and you were not amicable, he could never forget how hurt and angry you looked when he showed up at the apartment. It looked like you hadn’t eaten in weeks, eyes red from crying – he wanted to get out of the situation, but he loved Steve like a brother. He also liked you, thought Steve had made a great choice when he brought you around as his girlfriend. Bucky was placing bets that his friend would propose, especially after you two moved into the apartment.
Bucky was sure of it all.
Then he found himself moving Steve’s belongings into a rental truck and driving him back to New York. After that, it had been almost eight years since he last seen you. Until a trip to visit friends in Los Angeles changed his whole world. He never, in his damn life, would have expected you to show up to his friend’s apartment.
Walking in with a friend, wearing professional attire; pleated black pants, half tucked in white blouse. High heels that you quickly took off, leaving them at the door – it was clear you were familiar with the apartment. Hair swept in a low bun, strands framing your face. He watched from the couch, standing up as you moved to the kitchen not even noticing him.
Sam, whose apartment it was, had called for you from the kitchen and that’s why you hadn’t noticed everyone who was over. You grinned at the handsome man when he offered up a beer from his fridge. The two of you had met a few years back when you first moved to LA for a job; he had been a co-worker but eventually left the company. Your friendship continued and now, you were a constant at his apartment.
“I have to introduce to my buddy from New York, picked him up from the airport today.”
Sipping from the beer, your shoulders relaxed after a long day at the office. “James, right?”
“I go by Bucky, actually.”
The familiar voice shook the apartment and when you turned, you hadn’t expected to see Bucky standing in front of you. He stood there sheepishly, not knowing what your reaction would be, but when you placed the beer down and laughed, he relaxed. The two of you approached each other and hugged, a little awkward, but it was nice. Sam, confused, asked if you knew Bucky and you laughed, pulling from the man. You stared up at him and his eyes softened in a way you had never noticed before.
“Yeah, I know him…”
“I hope they like the clothes….”
Bucky guaranteed they would, and you relaxed. He smiled – he did that a lot when you were around. Although, it took some time for him to reconcile with his feelings for you and the fact that you were his best friend’s ex-girlfriend. He had hated the feelings he had, the instant attraction and want that surged through him the moment you walked into Sam’s apartment. Hated that he could feel himself drifting towards you that night at the apartment or how you came around nearly every day he was in town for those two weeks. The first few times, it was group outings; Sam, the others, Bucky, and you. Showing him around the city and then when the others were busy with work, you offered to take him around.
Bookshops, lunches, people watching.
It had been the best two weeks of his life and he knew he was in trouble.
Yet, somehow, it all worked out.
Bucky said your name as the line moved up, he took your free hand and walked forward. You looked at him and he could only grin. “I love you.”
How strange life was; time moving forward – that was all that was certain. Squeezing Bucky’s hand, you smiled back at him. Fascinating, how things worked out. Bucky holding your hand, keeping your heart safe – knowing if it hadn’t been for Steve, the two of you would have never found each other.
“I love you too.”
