It’s so pleasant to have unfilled drawer space. Cleaning off odds and ends from the #plate11 white oak design bench… and, magically, I have some place to put the things away. Much like my currently unreachable #atc tills, these drawers will be organized by common use (up at top) and a bit by size (the drawers are smaller at the top) but nothing more. I don’t need or want an elaborate system overall or for every drawer. A year ago when I started doing handwork, I would have called BS on thinking that the most precise lateral adjustments come from tapping the iron with a hammer. Even on my 'premium' planes I now find this to be extremely accurate - if not just simply enjoyable. The @sterlingtoolworks Plane Hammer is a wonderful tool that I can use on both wood and iron body planes, thanks to the replaceable walnut 'spud'. For #handtoolthursday I offer my @sterlingtoolworks dovetail rule. This is great for checking not only tight fitting dovetails, but any joint where a regular square is a tight fit. The dovetailing blade is 4" long and as you can see, fits into the body of my @leevalleytools double square.
