Saw a hot take that Stella is getting what she deserves because of how she treated the chief in episode 1. So my question is...how long does she have to endure this before we can collectively say he's being an ass?
Goes back to what I said in my rant pre season 13 airing. The mistakes Stella makes follow her & she has to bear the brunt of it. Meanwhile, I LOVE Kelly DOWN, but he never disclosed to the chief his relationship with Damon & that almost cost Stella her job yet (shutting up now)
Also, Cruz just stole a kids bike in his Squad 3 gear which could have been really bad 🙂
#chicago fire#stella kidd#dom pascal#i'm being petty af right now btw#how long must she suffer the consequences of her actions?#stella kidds not allowed to make a mistake#i cant actually do a full season of him acting like this towards her

Chicago Fire Season 6 Ep. 17 "Put White on Me"
Boden makes a mistake after saving a boy. Kidd tries to win over Severide's mom after a surprise visit. Otis takes on new responsibilities at the firehouse.
If you want to watch the series for yourself, stop reading! This post contains spoilers to the storyline.
Otis is in rehab and trying to improve. Chief Boden tells him he can take a desk job at 51. Otis doesn't seem happy, but the chief says he'd be happy to have Otis there and would appreciate it. Otis arrives for morning roll call. Everyone is happy to see him except Cordova. The alarm sounds, and the team has to leave.
They arrive at a pool. An electrical wire is loose. Children are being electrocuted. Cordova jumps in to save a child. Brett and Dawson take the two children to the hospital. One child says he was in the pool alone. They bring him back to the station to find out who he is. Gabby says she dated Cordova, but it wasn't serious. The captain wants to get rid of Cordova. Herrmann defends her, saying she saved a kid in the pool. Stella says she jumped in first.
Kelly's mom arrives at the station. He is happy to see her and asks what she is doing there. She says she wants to move in with him. Kelly tells his mom he lives with Stella and she can stay with them if she wants. Kelly asks about the electrocuted victims. Gabby says they're OK. Sylvie says Kelly still has a thing for her.
The kids are drawing pictures. Otis asks what his name is The kid gives his name, his parents' names, and where he lives. Otis finds his parents' house. Chief tells him to call them and pick him up. Kelly's mom tells the crew how he was named after her father.
Chief Boden arrives, and Kelly's mom is happy to see her. The kid's father arrives to pick up his kids. Stella tells Kelly his mom hates her. Kelly says it's impossible because his mom is a saint. Otis finished work. The kid's mother came to the station to pick up her kid. She found out they gave the kid to his father. She said he is crazy and doesn't have custody.
Otis feels bad and apologizes to the upset mother. Chief Boden tells Otis it isn't his fault. The Chief is taking responsibility because he told Otis to call the father. Otis says doing the desk job was a bad idea and leaves.
Kelly and Stella are home. Kelly tells Stella to calm down and let things breathe. He says she shouldn't force herself to be friends with his mother. Stella asks his mom about a church she is opening. Stella used to live in the town where the church is going to be. The captain finds out that Gabby dated Cordova. He's not happy she didn't tell him.
The next day, Stella and Kelly arrive at the station. Kelly is letting his mom borrow his car. She is going to see his father and wants to look into his eyes and show him she is not broken.
Otis goes to the kids' mother's house and says he was wrong. She slams the door on him. Otis leaves and sees a stick figure decal on her van showing the whole family. Otis goes back to the door and sees the father. They're scamming them. Otis goes back to the station and tells the Chief what they did.
The alarm goes off. There's a shooting. Dawson and Brett arrive at the scene as shooting breaks out. An ambulance arrives but leaves because they're not allowed to help. Chief, Cordova, and others arrive and stop the shooting. They help Dawson and Brett with the victims. The victims are stable at the hospital.
Kelly and Stella arrive home to find his parents. His mother says they are getting back together.
Otis goes to see Chief Boden and says he'll help at the desk until he can get back to work.

Matt and Sylvie & Number 9 for the fluff prompt please! 💕
“You took all the pillows so I’m using you as one.”
******
Severide had asked them to take a quick trip to the cabin to get it ready for him.
It was awkward being alone with Sylvie given their current situation. She’d just stopped seeing the Lieutenant from 40 and the assumption around both houses was that it ended because of Matt. She hadn’t said a word to him about it, not that he expected her too, so he had no idea what actually happened.
Regardless, his best friend was planning to propose to Sylvie’s best friend in this cabin in just a few hours.
Matt had a feeling that plan was wrecked — judging by the snow piling up outside.
“The roads in and out of here are closed,” Sylvie announces, dropping her phone on the coffee table. “Poor Severide. This was supposed to be such a big night for him and Stella! Have you talked to him yet?”
Matt nods, sitting down on the couch with a sigh. It was a good thing he’d already started a fire. They were going to need it. “He said not to worry about it. He’ll improvise. So, it’s gonna be a big night no matter what. Just not here.”
“Oh! But what about the strawberries! I mean the champagne will keep but the chocolate covered strawberries won’t,” Sylvie says, frowning at the pretty spread she’d set up on the coffee table.
Matt shrugs and then grins at her. “More for us?”
“God, that’s tempting. We can’t though!”
“Why not?”
“They’re for Stella!”
“You said yourself they won’t last. Kidd won’t get to eat them no matter what. Someone should enjoy them,” Matt reasons, glancing pointedly between her and the platter.
Sylvie bites her bottom lip before reluctantly reaching for the smallest strawberry. “Well, maybe just one.”
She really is too cute. How did he not see her sooner? What had been different about them the last few years? Had she changed or had he? Maybe it was both of them. Maybe, unlike his past relationships, he and Sylvie were growing together not apart.
“Guess we’re bunking here for the night,” Matt says while glancing at the unexpected blizzard through the window. “You can take the bed. I’ll take the couch.”
She nods. “Okay.” Awkward silence descends and Matt hates it. Their silences had never been awkward before. Sylvie looks guiltily at the tray and then grabs it as she stands from the couch. “I should put these in the fridge. If we can keep them cold Stella might still be able to enjoy them.”
As soon as she takes a step toward the kitchen, the lights flicker and then cut out. Only the glow of the fire illuminates the room, surrounding them in hues of orange and yellow.
“Wind probably knocked a tree into some power lines somewhere,” Matt observes. “Looks like we’re gonna have to eat those strawberries after all. No power, no fridge.”
“And also no heat,” Sylvie reminds him as she comes back with the tray.
“Good point. Guess we’re both sleeping on the couch. We’ll need the fire for warmth,” Matt tells her with an apologetic glance.
At that realization, the tension is palpable. He can feel her apprehension as if it were his own. Guilt overwhelms him. It’s his fault that their relationship, whatever it is, has become so uncomfortable. His dumbass answer fanned the flames of fear and doubt in her and unless he straightens it out nothing will ever be the same again.
“Or I’m sure there’s a sleeping bag around here somewhere,” he says lamely. “I can sleep on the floor.”
Sylvie shoves almost an entire strawberry in her mouth and nods silently as she chews. The sight of her chewing ferociously and avidly avoiding his eyes would be comical if it didn’t sting so much.
“We have plenty of time to kill until then,” Matt observes. “What should we do?”
She continues to chew but shrugs and points at him, indicating he should decide. He nearly grins. Her determination to avoid conversation just gave him the perfect opening.
“Up to me, huh?”
She nods.
“Then I think we should talk. About you and me.”
She gulps down the rest of the strawberry in one swallow, nearly choking in the process. “What?” She asks through a startled cough.
“I miss you and I hate how distant we are.”
“Matt—“
“No, hear me out. I know I agreed to give you space but that was a mistake. I should have said what I really wanted to say but as always I can’t think straight around you. You—you fog things up and the words get lost in all my feelings and I end up sounding like a jackass.” He pauses and takes a deep breath, meeting her eyes. “I don’t want Gabby. She could walk through the door right now and beg me to leave with her and I wouldn’t do it. She and I had our chance. We don’t work. Honestly, despite our good moments, we never really did. And I don’t want a relationship that has a few good moments. I want a relationship that has a few bad moments. Maybe one that even allows me to be happy in the middle of the challenges. That’s not what Gabby and I had.”
“It isn’t?”
He shakes his head and takes her hands in his, sliding closer to her on the couch. “No, but it is what you and I have. Even as friends, that’s how our relationship works. I want to be so much more than your friend, Sylvie, but I know we’ll never lose that. It’s our foundation. I want this,” he tells her as he releases one of her hands to point between them. “I want what I have with you for as long as you’ll let me have it.”
His words echo through the tiny cabin as they grow quiet again. Sylvie stares at him with wide nervous eyes, unblinking. She seems frozen with indecision.
Until she isn’t.
Until she stands straight up, nearly knocking him over since they were almost sitting on top each other, and walks toward the hallway.
“Pillows!” She shouts, frantically. “We need pillows. And blankets! I’ll go find them!”
He watches her go with a bewildered expression. He did speak, right? Outloud? He rises from the couch and follows her down the hall. “The extra blankets are in the closet in the bedroom,” he calls out to her back as she speed-walks down the short hallway.
“Right! Got it,” she says, never once looking back at him. “Oh look! And there’s a sleeping bag too! Perfect!”
He enters the bedroom and stops next to her, eyes narrowed on her panicked expression. What is going on here? She shoves the sleeping bag and a couple of pillows into his arms.
“You did hear me, right?” He asks while watching her grab as many blankets and pillows as she can manage.
“This should be plenty, right?” She’s trying to appear absent-minded but that same panic is in her eyes so he knows she heard him.
He sighs and nods. “Yes, this should be plenty.”
He follows her back out to the living room where she sets all the pillows and blankets in an armchair and begins to make up the couch. She throws the two spare throw pillows on the floor and then starts tucking a sheet around the cushions.
He watches, frustration building in his chest, as she follows that with a thick quilt and then begins meticulously fluffing and arranging the pillows. Finally, he gives up waiting for a response and unrolls the sleeping bag across the floor in front of the fire. He turns to grab a pillow from the armchair only to find all of them gone.
“Do you plan on sharing any pillows?” He asks Sylvie with a quirked brow.
She looks dazed as she blinks over at him. “I’m sorry. What?”
“The pillows,” he repeats as he motions to the couch that’s almost too full of pillows to sit on.
“Oh!” She says, hands flying to her blushing cheeks. “I wasn’t even paying attention.”
“What is going on?” Matt asks loudly, frustration bubbling to the surface. “Did I say something wrong?”
“What? No! You—god, you said all the right things.”
“Then why are you still avoiding me?”
“I’m trying not to say or do anything stupid,” she admits in a barely audible voice.
“Nothing you say or do could be stupid,” Matt assures her.
“Oh no? Jumping you last time we kissed felt pretty stupid after it was all said and done and we both know, based on that first time, that I’m in way deeper than you. So, I don’t want to say anything that might scare yo—“
He cuts her off by suddenly dipping his head and capturing her lips with his. She tenses for a moment and then melts against him. They stand in front of the fire sharing searing kisses for what feels like an eternity and a fleeting moment all at once. It’s excruciatingly slow and yet it ends much too soon. It doesn’t make sense.
“There,” Matt says as they pull apart. “Now we’re even.”
She blinks at him, looking adorably confused. “What?”
“You’ve jumped me and I’ve jumped you,” he replies, catching his breath. “We’re even.”
“Oh god, I love you.” She gasps and slaps a hand over her mouth. A goofy grin appears on his face as he pulls her hands away. She winces and then continues rambling. “I didn’t mean to tell you that. Not...not yet anyway. Oh shit. Can we pretend that didn’t happen?”
“No,” he replies in a firm tone. Though the smile on his face contradicts his tone. “I don’t want to pretend it didn’t happen.”
“Why not?” She asks, her bottom lip poking out in a very slight pout.
“Because I love you too and I want you to know it,” Matt confesses, rubbing his hands up and down her arms soothingly and trying not to look amused by her pouting lip. “I don’t want to pretend I feel less for you than I actually do ever again.”
She gasps at his words before framing his face with her hands and yanking his lips down to hers. She tastes like strawberries and dark chocolate. He guides her down to the couch, crushing the pillows she’d placed on one end. It actually works out well for them. It props her up at a more comfortable angle for him to settle himself on top of her.
With everything finally out in the open, the layers of clothing between them don’t last long and by the time the sun is setting in the sky they’re panting, sweaty, naked, and wrapped in three layers of blankets.
The power still hasn’t come back on and the air has chilled considerably. He kisses a trail down her jaw to her neck and then rests his head on her chest with his arms wound around her waist.
Every single pillow is still propped underneath her.
“You’re better than an electric blanket,” Sylvie tells him with a sleepy satisfied smile. “You’re so warm.”
He laughs and presses a light kiss to the middle of her sternum. “I guess it’s only fair that I’m your blanket. Considering, you took all the pillows so I’m using you as one.”
“I’m happy to be your pillow, Matt Casey.”
“And I will gladly be your blanket, Sylvie Brett. All you have to do is ask.”

Fandom: One Chicago and SVU
Title: Silence Equals Death
Chapter 1: Dear Diary
P O V: Sylvie Brett
A/N: Boy, I am getting sick of these things. But, I'm too paranoid not to write it down. Here are the usual disclaimers, I do not own any of the One Chicago/Or SVU characters that glory goes to Dick Wolf and NBC. Trigger warning for a sexual assault/ rape towards the end. Whose Point of View would you like chapter two to be in; Kelly's, Matt's, Stella's or Kat's, Or Hailey's? This fic will be told through multiple views and be a joint between PD/ Fire and SVU. Reviews are fires to my soul; please leave one. Thank You.
Gaffney Chicago Medical Center
Dear Diary, today is January 31, 2021; it is 12:56 am; I am in Chicago Med. I have to write this all down before it becomes a twisted blur of fragmented memories. Tonight was a nightmare, and a dream all rolled into one. Sitting here now on this cold steel trap of a bed, I am in disbelief that any of this happened, but it did, and it shouldn't have; if I had been smarter, more robust, less drunk, none of this would have happened. I only have myself to blame. It all started so innocently.
Now everything is such a mess; how did this happen? I am not a lovesick teenager, and I shouldn't be making these types of mistakes. If only I could turn back time and not get so damn drunk, but I can't, so here it is, the sick truth of what will surely end my career. The authentic story as only someone who lived it can ever tell it. No Disney fair-tales here, just honest raw truths, every word you will read is what happened to the best of my recollection someday I will gone, and I want my truth out there, so no woman ever has to bear witness to the pain of being raped, and thrown away as if she is the villain.
I am not the villain, but can I say I was a victim?

"My money's on you finding exactly what you want."
Matthew Casey's rugged, sexy voice purrs in my ear. I can't remember when he said that or why the hell he said it; my mind is toasted with the large amount of alcohol I have poured into my body. I can remember what he said after, though, because it's what I deserve. Matt had no idea back then that all I wanted was for him to say he loved me, to tell me I am beautiful. To reassure me that these butterflies I have been feeling forever are not just in my stomach, not only carrying my heart away, but they are in his as well.
He didn't, not then and never since it's been at least two years since he said those words to me. Two years since I felt a brief flutter inside my heart telling me that my feelings for Matt had changed from friendship to something a little less platonic. "God, there ain't enough alcohol inside this damn hotel to take my memory away from this pain."
"I hear ya' sis." Stella Kidd motions for the bartender to bring us two more rounds as she settles against the counter inches away from me, her elbows propping her up. "You look flushed, Brett. Are you feeling okay?" Stella's gorgeous brown eyes are wide in concern as she glances at my body my cheeks are burning, I can feel the heat descending from my head to my face making me sway in dizziness a little as I try to remember how to breathe. Funny how a normal body function can sometimes take so much damn effort it hurts. I need a minute to do nothing, not to feel, think, talk, react or breathe, but of course, I can't have that minute, not with Stella on the case. "Yeah, girl, why wouldn't I be okay?" I fake a laugh, which I don't think fools her even for a second.
"Uh, I am so over these damn things Sylvie, I thought with COVID we would escape this bullshit this year." Stella slides down my shot glass to me as she tilts her head back and chugs her shot of whiskey with one gulp. "Yeah, I would have thought so too; nothing I hate more than a bunch of grown-ass corporate men in suits pretending to give two craps about us little people."
"Amen, sister." Stella clicks her empty glass against mine before I tilt my head back and swallow the rush of warmth that leaves me dizzier; maybe I shouldn't have skipped two meals today before coming here after having no food yesterday. "So what's up with you and Kelly?" I turn my head to my right to catch Stella's eyes, glued to her boyfriend Kelly Severide, chatting with District Chief Steve Walker. Fire Commissioner Carl Grissom and the Deputy Director of Finance Gail McLeod. "Kelly's looking dapper Stella; I think someone is going to get lucky tonight." I hold my hand up to signal the bartender for another round; he fills our glasses quickly, much to my pleasure. "Yeah, from your lips to Kelly's ears, please, he's barely touched me ever since he found out that some people may take offense to me being promoted because we're together."
"Aw, man, I'm sorry he's probably just worried Stella, he loves you Kelly doesn't want to be the reason you fail because we all know you deserve this promotion. At least he cares enough to say the words out loud." I swallow the shot feeling my eyes burn badly as tears filter out. "Aw man, this shit is strong. Phew!" shaking my body out, I signal for another, hearing Stella laugh. "Still regretting telling Matt how you feel?"
I pause for a moment before I answer; how should I respond? Do I regret telling Matt how I feel? "Hey bitches." I'm saved from answering as Leslie Shay comes stumbling over, wrapping her arm over my shoulder and squeezing between us, holding her phone up with her left hand. "Smile bitches." Stella and I hold our full shot glasses up. I love this bartender; he is on his game tonight; we smile and lean into Shay, who is reeking of Tequila. "Give me some love, sugar babes." Yeah, she is drunk, sugar babes? Where did she even come up with that one? We smile brighter even though neither one of us feel happy at this moment; her eyes are on Kelly, who isn't even looking our way, and I lock my eyes on Matt, who is dancing with some woman I have never seen in my life.
The woman is drop-dead gorgeous though five-foot-nine inches is my guess she appears to be Lebanese or Latino with long caramel hair flowing down her back past her waist the silk wrap dress she is wearing clings to every unique curve on her flawless body. Matt's arms are wrapped around her waist he's dancing close with her, my heart races so fast I feel the room sway. "Love is a journey, Sylvie, don't give up yet. I know this moment sucks. I get it hurts worse than anything you've ever experienced. When it gets too heavy, when it feels like the weight of this pain is crushing you, remember the pleasant moments, the breathless enthusiastic moments. Matt's alive, and so are you as long as you live, there is hope."
I wish I could smile at Shay as a thank you, but I can't muster the strength even to attempt a smile. Seeing Matt dancing with this woman is killing me slowly; who is she? Where did they meet? Why did he choose tonight to bring her on a date? Knowing I would be at this stupid First Responders training shit, is he trying to make me jealous?
"Your Casey is out there, Sylvie, but you don't have to change who you are to find him." Gabby's words from five years ago come back to me; she did not know just how right she was when she said them to me; hell, I didn't even know back then that the man who I would want to be by my side forever, the man who I would spend countless sleepless nights crying my heart out over was her Casey. Talk to God, Sylvie, get your head straight; this is crazy pinning over a man you pushed away yourself.
Sometimes I feel so cold the way steel must feel left outside to fend for itself against the weather elements. Some days I feel broken, I forget what living is for, I forget how to breathe or even why I should keep living. Today is one of those nights; seeing Matt with this woman is breaking me; I can feel every string of my heart aching, pulling, and twisting as it stretches my entire inside into a giant trampoline my stomach turns and painfully contracts reminding me.
I am alive
Every ache and every pain reminds me I am breathing, but why I can't seem to grasp it. I'm not suicidal, but I'm finding it hard to find a reason to keep my head up when my brain is screaming at me to run away, to bury myself in Tequila and cuddle under the covers till all of the daylight fades away into a blur of a drunken haze.
"Another shot, bartender."
"Name is Josh." I turn away, not caring, seeing only Matt as he lifts his finger to wipe out a stray hair off the woman's face. I can barely breathe every effort is a raspy painful burn that leaves me gasping, trying to fight off this fresh wave of tears. "Close your eyes, Sylvie, and fucking hold it together for a few more minutes; for God's sake, don't let the man see you cry."
Shay slips her arm around my back under my armpits, quickly leading me out of the ballroom where the music is playing louder than what you would expect at a training seminar. "Remember what I said to picture the pleasant moments." "I can't, Shay..I... can't breathe." "Shh, hey, it's okay. I got you." Shay gently settles me onto a couch inside the ladies' room, handing me a cold bottle of water, which she's already taken a few sips out. Still, she lifts to my lips before I can stop her; the cool liquid splashes over my chin, dripping down what gets inside my mouth is refreshing and helps cool me off, allowing me to breathe easier. Leaning back against the wall, I close my eyes, trying to regain some gravity; my knees are trembling, leaving me feeling as if I will collapse if I try to stand.
I want to kick myself for falling so hard for a damn guy who I knew would never love me back. I knew I shouldn't have pushed Matt, yet I ignored every one of my instincts and went full sped ahead. God, I will remember that day forever- I had been avoiding Matt for days ever since the accident. Mainly because I had my suspicions that Matt hadn't just been lucky in getting to me so quickly, part of me hoped and yes, as vain as it sounds prayed that Matt had raced to me, that the thought of me being in peril had somehow overcome Matt's heart running his blood in fear.
I told myself I was crazy even to think such stupid school girl thoughts. Matt is our captain; it made perfect sense he would be worried about Gianna and me; we're part of his team, nothing more. The job of the captain is to make sure all of his team comes home safe at the end of every shift; Matt's lost too many people in his days, he fears losing anyone, so of course, the entire team raced to us when they heard 61 was in an accident.
I had myself convinced Matt came to me out of loyalty out of duty, not because he was in love with me, I am stupid for even thinking for one mil-la-second that Matthew Casey would ever love me as anything except a friend. I was doing so damn well, too, until Blake Gallo blew up all my rationalization with his account of how Matt jumped out of a moving truck to get to me. Me, not myself and Gianna but only me. Brett, I have to get to Brett, that's what Gallo recalled Matt saying.

Chicago Fire Round Table S5 - Some Make It Some Don’t (+ Crossover with CPD)
Hello everyone and Happy New Year!
Welcome to the latest installment of the Chicago Fire Round Table and boy did our show come back with a vengeance! This first episode was a crossover with Chicago PD in addition to filling in some blanks about the fall finale’s cliffhanger with Louie’s bio-dad showing up. We were a slightly smaller discussion group this week but we still have a lot to talk about with this crossover so let’s get started! =)
1st Responder Award: Big congrats to @Em_M_J for winning this week’s 1st Responder Award and I’m pretty sure she’s my first Aussie winner ever so this is a really big deal! Way to go girl and yay for school breaks that allow you to live tweet and answer the questions so fast! =)
PSA: As always, none of the pics or GIFS used in this blog (aside from the 1st Responder Award) were made by me but by other amazing people who are awesome and lovingly share their talents with us. Thanks everyone!
DISCUSSION
Q1. Casey and Dawson ran into some trouble while trying to adopt Louie. What are your thoughts on their story so far? Do you have any 1st impressions of Louie’s bio-dad?
Em_M_J: Well it wouldn’t be Chicago Fire if there wasn’t trouble for Dawsey. Can’t even have a nice honeymoon type period without something happening. But how much more interesting does this make the whole Dawsey storyline? Once we met Andre in the Winter Finale I was determined to dislike the guy. Where had he been for Louie’s entire life? But once we found out his backstory and why he hadn’t been in Louie’s life - I don’t know. I’m torn about the whole situation now. I feel sorry for the guy... Hat’s off to Matt to be the one to say to the lawyer that they were in it all together - we all knew that Matt has also wanted to be a father and this has just shown how much he wants it. And why hasn’t Matt found that engagement ring yet?? CurlyBuckeye: This story line is going to kill me. At first I thought Louie's Dad was a jerk, but finding out he never knew about Louie changes everything. He definitely has the right to meet his son and get to know him. However, Louie has been moved around so much and was finally with two loving people who are giving him a stable environment and meeting all his needs. I think if he is taken away from that, it will hurt him. He won't understand and could feel abandoned by Gabby & Casey. I don't know what they are going to do, but I think it's in Louie's best interest if the Dad is introduced slowly into his life. I also think cutting Gabby & Matt out of his life completely would be a huge mistake for Louie's well-being. I'm very curious to see how this is all going to play out. It's a sad situation and a lose-lose one for all IMO. Sharkygirl74: Well, we knew there'd be trouble as soon as the dad showed up. I felt bad for him when I found out he was a vet but not too bad. You want your son back, I get, but stalking the family who has him? Hell no…lost all sympathy from me for that. Lantetrain: I'm totally loving the Dawsey storyline this season. I love how protective they are of Louie and it shows us that they are indeed ready to be parents. Their scenes were stinking cute. As for Louie’s Bio Dad, I'm still on the fence with him, one minute I'm like I dom’t like him and the next I’ll feel sorry for him but then he goes back to being a jerk to me, LOL, but either way I can't wait for more of this storyline. Nikita_Citizen: It's an interesting conflict but it's heartbreaking. They love Louie so much and are so protective of him. They can't bear losing him. Andre seems like a decent, responsible guy who wants and can take care of Louie but he wasn't very tactful when he approached Dawsey. Stalking and attacking them verbally was way out of line. I can't find a reason why he didn't show up to meet Louie but I have a feeling he'll come up with a good reason and it will hurt Dawsey even more. Kwanfan1212: Honestly, this story is amazing, Jesse & Monica are totally killing it, but I’m so heartbroken for Dawsey because they haven’t done anything wrong and they’re probably going to lose their little boy over the circumstances. It’s hard for me to watch because we see how hard they’ve worked as a parenting team and how much they love Louie. Ugh, I just know I’m gonna cry all the ugly tears no matter how this story goes. I’m on the fence about the biodad right now. I feel bad that he didn’t even know about Louie (although, is he really telling the truth?! I can’t shake the fact that he could be lying...) but stalking and threatening Dawsey isn’t the way to go about things. I feel like there’s more to him that we don’t know yet and I’m anxious to know why he didn’t show up to meet Louie at the kid’s restaurant. It took a lot for Gabby to say that was okay and I feel like he just threw it in their faces.
Q2. Kelly was anxious to do something good and donate his bone marrow to Anna. What are your initial thoughts on the two of them? Were you glad that he met her?
Em_M_J: The whole donating of bone marrow is very generous of Kelly. It’s like he’s found a purpose in life, it gives meaning to him I suppose. But does it really have to turn into a romance? I’d be happy for them to do a storyline promoting the fact that this is an important thing that more people need to do, much like blood donation…yet this turning into a romance for Severide? Even a possible love triangle? I’m just not sure about it or sold on it. CurlyBuckeye: I think Kelly & Anna have great chemistry together and I'm glad they met. However, it maybe wasn't so good for Sev since he went off the rails when something went wrong. He may get too involved and if she doesn't make it, I think he'll be worse off than he was. But, I'm thinking she'll make it. I don't know if I want them together romantically though. I really do like him with Stella. I would hope it would be a slow build up to a relationship instead of just sleeping together and done like all his previous relationships. Sharkygirl74: I like the idea of Kelly being a donor and yes, I really like Anna. She seems cool. I like the idea of them being friends (provided of course she doesn't die too…Kelly doesn't need another dead friend). Lantetrain: I'm loving this side of Kelly. It's about time he's finally growing up and seeing Dawsey happily married, I think he wants that. I love that he met Anna and I really like their chemistry and rapport with each other and I'm looking forward to seeing where it will go and it does help when they cast Charlotte Sullivan as Anna. It was a perfect choice. I just love her. Nikita_Citizen: I love what Maggie said to Severide and it was a great advice "She needs bone marrow, not a new friend". I wish he took her advice & didn't meet with her. I like Anna, they had an instant connection, but Severide's relationships with women usually never end well... Kwanfan1212: I liked the easy chemistry between them and I really like seeing Kelly thinking about others more than himself. He’s always been the womanizing, party all the time guy and I like seeing him grow up some with this storyline. I’m very interested to see where this story goes for both Kelly and Anna.
Q3. The guys at the house found a ping pong table on a call but things quickly went awry when they got too competitive with it. Do you think they did the right thing by getting rid of the table? Were you surprised at Herrmann’s secret talent?
Em_M_J: All I want to know about it the foosball incident of 2009… I guess you’ve got to pass the time at a firehouse somehow. And don’t you love how much Otis gets into all of these things - whether it be the mud challenge or pretty much any challenge. However the Herrmann secret, once it was out, wasn’t that surprising. We all know how surprising that man can be - just like his body fat episode. However I would have liked to see him actually hit a ball, or even for someone to actually go through that window!! So in that sense that table needed to go - or it might have ended up being more than just windows being broken... CurlyBuckeye: That ping pong story was quite hilarious and I do think it was good they got rid of the table since they got way too into it. Never knew ping pong could be so dangerous! Herrmann being a secret ping pong ringer was definitely a surprise and quite funny. Sharkygirl74: I loved the ping pong stuff! They should have kept the table, and Herrmann is a ping pong expert!! Who knew?! Love it! :) Lantetrain: Haha I love the ping pong storyline. It was freaking hilarious and I was surprised to learn that Herrmann was a ping pong champ. Who knew? LOL I was sad to see the table go but I understand why they did it and Connie’s expression with them on the ping pong table was hilarious lol Nikita_Citizen: I wish they kept it because it was hilarious but like Casey said, they were acting like a bunch of idiots. I didn't expect that to be his secret talent. Herrmann is full of surprises. Kwanfan1212: That was SO funny! I loved how competitive they all got with each other and how they even came in on their day off to play. I loved finding out that Herrmann was this champion ping pong player! That was hilarious and I loved his scene with Stella when he was telling her about his special paddle. The entire thing was a riot but the table definitely had to go because they were in danger of destroying the entire house, LOL ;)
Q4. Kelly made Stella his emergency contact for his bone marrow procedure. Do you think there’s still potential for them or are they better off as friends?
Em_M_J: Oh, our dear Stella definitely still has feelings for Severide! That last call showed us just how much. I loved how into this ‘emergency contact’ role she got. There is something still there and I for one would be pleased to see what might happen if they were to get back on track. There was always some interesting spark with them - in some ways Kidd is almost like a female Severide and in others she is quite different to him and that could be a good thing. So yes, put them back together, I want to see what happens with them. CurlyBuckeye: I do think there is potential for them. They have great banter and fun. Stella obviously still cares for Sev. Kelly just needs to mature a bit and want to settle down. Sharkygirl74: I dunno about them as a couple. I never really bought them 'together'. I like them better as friends. Lantetrain: Haha I'm torn here with them. I think there’s still something between them but I also loved them as friends. Its hard to choose lol but if Anna sticks around, then I would like Kelly and Stella just friends but if not? Then I'm all onboard the Stella and Kelly train lol Nikita_Citizen: I think there is and I hope there is. I love their relationship and the fact that they stayed friends despite what happened with Grant. I love that Severide chose her as his emergency contact and Stella was obviously very flattered. I think they still have feelings for each other so I'm rooting for them but I'm afraid that the bone marrow donation will complicate things. Kwanfan1212: I was reminded in this episode how much I enjoyed Kelly and Stella in their scenes together in S4 and in early S5 so I enjoyed their scenes tonight. I’m not sure if I want them romantically entangled again but I do love their chemistry and will enjoy seeing more of them through this storyline.
Q5. What was your favorite scene from Some Make It, Some Don’t? Least favorite scene? Did anything special stick out to you?
Em_M_J: The whole scene with Brett and Dawson at the hospital came up with my favourite line of the episode - it was so heartwarming to hear why Gabby isn’t changing her name, but also why she does want to. I hope we still have that reason for her to do so. The Brett adoption revelation came out of left field - but it was nice to hear her perspective on it and allow Gabby one too. And Lieutenant Casey - we don’t see him do the shouting lieutenant thing very much, but it did give us Herrmann as a father figure which is always awesome to see - I think that’s the moment that stuck out to me the most. And on another note - how cute were Louie’s glow in the dark pjs? CurlyBuckeye: My favorite scene was Dawsey at the firehouse talking about being married. My least favorite was Dawsey in the diner w/ Andre and Gabby being so upset. Sharkygirl74: Fave scene: all the ones with Dawsey and Louie (of course) Didn't really have a least favorite one. One thing that stuck out: I really like Sev's new place! :) Lantetrain: Favorite scenes from the first half of the crossover was the cute Dawsey scene in the eating area where Gabby pocketed the check and said out loud that she's was happy to be married to Casey. That was stinking cute. Heck all their scenes were and as for least fav? There was nothing. I loved it all. Nikita_Citizen: My favorite scene is Dawsey talking about the wedding gift and about the fact that they can get through anything now that they're married. I couldn't stop replaying that moment. Casey showing up at the meeting and surprising Gabby was also a really sweet moment. The Herrmann and Casey talk was great. My least favorite is Dawsey meeting with Andre. I couldn't handle how devastated they were, especially when Andre requested to meet Louie. Matt's sadness and Gabby breaking down broke my heart and I can't imagine what it took for Gabby to accept the meeting but she had no choice. I just love how Dawsey are supportive of each other. And they're so protective of Louie. Seeing them as a married couple and as parents is amazing. I'm really loving this storyline but it's really hard to watch right now. Kwanfan1212: Favorite scene: When Matt showed up to the failed meeting with Louie’s biodad and Gabby was so happy to see him. I also loved Dawsey talking about how they’re married now and how happy it makes them. Least Fave: Andre’s behavior is making me unhappy and I still think he’s shady. What Stuck Out: I hated how Matt kept being reminded that he’s not listed on any of the paperwork as Louie’s dad because I think it was making him feel lousy for the entire episode. Herrmann’s talk with him at the end made my heart happy because I think Matt needed to hear that from someone and Herrmann was the PERFECT person for it.
CHICAGO PD QUESTIONS
Q6. Kelly got himself into trouble after his car was found at that accident and he couldn’t remember what happened. Were you surprised at how that story turned out?
Em_M_J: Always knew from the start that Severide wasn’t the one who caused the accident, it was just going to be a matter of proving who actually did it. There were a few moments there where I did wonder if this storyline was going to last a few more episodes, which would have been different. But it was nice to have the focus back on Severide. The crossovers have definitely become a touch smoother as the years have rolled by. CurlyBuckeye: I wasn't surprised Kelly was innocent but the story was pretty elaborate and looked like Kelly would be paying for it even if he didn't do it. Sharkygirl74: I couldn't really see Kelly getting into a car after drinking, but I certainly wasn't expecting it to be a car ring in the end. Lantetrain: I kind of knew where the Kelly storyline was going from the promo but I was still shock about the whole thing. I felt so bad for him. Kelly’s been through hell and back and didn't deserve this but I'm thankful it was resolved and Kelly was free. Nikita_Citizen: Not really. I knew without a doubt that he wasn't guilty and that he would never be responsible for a car accident. For me, the only explanation was that someone stole his car and that's what happened. Kwanfan1212: I knew Kelly would be fine. The last thing he would ever do is drive after drinking but I wasn’t expecting it to be this huge car theft ring story. I felt really bad for him since he couldn’t remember anything and was really upset with himself. Hopefully he gets back on the straight and narrow now!
Q7. Do you agree with how Voight handled this touchy situation with the case and dealing with Kelly, Erin, and Jay? How cool was it to see Casey show up to defend Sev?
Em_M_J: When I first started watching PD I really didn’t like Voight, a hangover from season one of Fire. But I honestly think he was fair and did everything that was in his power to look at the case. And Casey turning up in Intelligence…he was always going to defend his friend, right? I’m not sure if I agreed with his idea that Voight was holding onto their feud from way back when. They seemed to have moved past that as evidenced in the first episode of PD this season. But suppose the question did need to be asked. Overall Voight did it right. CurlyBuckeye: I agreed with Voight and the way he handled it. He was doing everything he could to find the truth. I loved Casey coming to Kelly's defense and not afraid to take on Voight if he needed to. Glad they stayed friendly though in the end. Sharkygirl74: I liked the way Voight handled it, he knew that a FF wouldn't do something like that and wanted to prove his innocence, and I LOVED CASEY SHOWING UP!! (I always love it when Spencer crosses over! LOL) Lantetrain: I loved how Voight handled the situation with Kelly, Erin, and Jay, and I wouldn't have anybody else in my corner other than Voight. When Voight is on it, you know you will get a result. Voight has come a long way and I'm happy to see it. Nikita_Citizen: I like how he handled it, he was fair in my opinion. Casey defending Severide was the best part! And I love what Mouch did. 51 family stands together! Kwanfan1212: I thought Voight handled it about as best as he could with everyone and I LOVED Casey coming in and standing up for his BFF Severide. That animosity between Casey and Voight will never go completely away and that’s actually way more realistic than them becoming all buddy buddy or something.
Q8. What are your initial thoughts about Burgess being up in Intelligence now? Do you think she’ll eventually fit in up there?
Em_M_J: Ergh…. I’m not sure about Burgess in Intelligence. I think she’ll bring up some interesting dynamics and seems very eager to prove herself. Whether that ultimately turns out to be a good thing or not? Only time will tell. Yet, the way that the show seems to be going, I believe that in the end she will end up fitting into the team. But I’m hoping for a slightly rocky road before everything settles down. That and since she’s upstairs now - I hope we will still be seeing a uniform presence. CurlyBuckeye: I love that Burgess is in Intelligence now! I think she will fit in fine and it will just take some time to prove herself to some of the team who aren't sure about her being there. She's sweet but she can also be very badass when she needs to! Sharkygirl74: I like seeing Kim in intelligence! She seems a little shaky for now but she's still getting used to it so it makes sense. Lantetrain: First off, it was weird seeing Burgess up in Intelligence but second, I think she is not really right for the job right now. I’ll give it couple of more episodes to fully decide. I really liked her as a beat cop. So the jury is out on her in Intelligence for me. Nikita_Citizen: I wasn't really thrilled when Burgess moved up to Intelligence because she was amazing on patrol but she's proven before that she's resourceful, capable, and earned that spot with hard work. I love her determination and I have no doubt she'll be amazing in Intelligence. Kwanfan1212: I think she’s gonna have some rough moments, seriously what is going on with Olinsky’s attitude lately, but eventually she’s gonna prove that she belongs there. I’m looking forward to seeing her journey as she navigates this new role.
Q9. Any favorite scenes from the CPD part of the crossover? Least fave?
Em_M_J: Umm…. favourite scene has to be Mouch telling Platt he wouldn’t come home unless he could see Severide. I really like their relationship and seeing it play out on screen is awesome. There needs to be more Mouch and Platt scenes!!! CurlyBuckeye: That whole episode was pretty intense. The car chase was awesome! I really liked the end scene with Kelly getting out of jail and Erin being there. I love Linstead, but gotta say I really wish Lindseride would've worked out. My least favorite would be the way Al is treating Kim. It's pissing me off. Sharkygirl74: Fave part of the CPD crossover: Casey showing up! Least fave part: nothing. :) Lantetrain: I really loved Mouch visiting Kelly and then trying to stand up to Trudy. That was hilarious but everything was good. Nikita_Citizen: Voight and Casey's confrontation is my favorite scene and Burgess finding the picture that Ruzek kept in his drawer. Such an Awwww moment! I want Burzek back! Least favorite scene: Olinsky's behaviour towards Burgess. I don't like him very much right now. He's her partner, not there to judge what happened in her personal life. Kwanfan1212: Fave Scene: Casey standing up for Sev with Voight, Kim finding that picture of her and Adam in his desk drawer, and Mouch standing up to Platt. Least Fave: Nothing, I thought this was a solid episode overall. Nothing really stood out to me aside from that Burzek picture which I wasn’t expecting Burgess to find in the desk!
Ping Pong Adventures at House 51
Nothing like finding a ping pong table to bring out the competitive and hilarious sides of the firehouse guys, LOL ;)
Sev and Anna - Happy Beginnings or Eventual Disaster?
Dawsey - Yes, You Really Are Married Now
Can we first talk about this scene....Gabby calming Matt down for once?! This is a rare thing so I thought it warranted some GIFs, LOL ;)
And this scene in the firehouse might have topped the adorable meter for all of us....I think everyone loved hearing them talk so cute about being married!
I think we all loved Gabby’s reasoning about why she hadn’t changed her last name yet and I, for one, hope that we eventually see all of them under the same roof officially as the Casey family. <3
These next scenes at the kids restaurant were alternately sweet (Matt showing up and Gabby’s reaction to it) and sad (Andre not coming or even calling them) but anytime we get to see this sweet family together feels like a precious thing that we should savor right now. I don’t have the greatest feeling about this story and I worry about Louie’s situation and if he’ll get to stay with Dawsey. I hope he does...

RANDOM ANNOUNCEMENT: We will NOT be doing a round table for the next episode due to the fact that I’m on vacation from January 17th through the 23rd. This is for two main reasons: One, I won’t be watching the episode at the same time I normally do on Tuesdays, and two, I won’t have any time to write up the questions or put the blog together before the next new episode on Jan. 24th. I apologize for not being able to do one for this episode (especially since it looks like it’s a big Dawsey & Louie episode!) but I just can’t do it while I’m gone and I refuse to stress myself out while I’m on vacation, especially since I’m going to the US National Figure Skating Championships and will already be stressed out and anxious over it, LOL ;) We will resume the round tables for the Jan. 24th episode, which should also be a fantastic episode, and maybe, if I can think of some that night, I’ll throw in a random question or two to let you talk about the previous week’s episode so we don’t overlook it altogether! Thanks so much for your understanding. You all rock! =)
