I've been analysing carefully the steins;gate openings from the vn, elite and with the new reboot trailer and something light me up about it, you know how each character introduction the background had something that recalls each one of the characters

It states right from the start that okabe symbolize doors

Mayuri seems to hold a meaning behind windows, but what it seems to represent more is clones of herself

It's interesting how daru is located on a metro station somehow, even on the skyclad observer opening, the background moves like it's a subway train behind him

The gears are something that is always surrounding kurisu, this is also seen in steins gate 0 anime credits, but of course we need to have the Amadeus foreshadowing

Suzuha and the clocks seems obviously enough

What's interesting about faris one is the most smaller detail on the openings is the Hourglass that is placed alongside faris

Rukako Is representing an mirror, an reflection of himself, which it leads me to think that we are seeing two rukas, the male and female sides

Unlike kurisu, moeka also represents the phone, which is one of the main things about moeka's character

My favourite anime, Steins;Gate, has a scene that I have to skip over every time I rewatch it, because it is an intensely transphobic scene.

It's common consensus, I believe, that yhe character of Ruka, in the anime, is definitely a trans woman, whereas Luka, her visual novel counterpart, is a gay man who has the unfortunate thought that he has to be a woman because he's in love with the main character, Okabe, who is straight.

Through improbable shenanigans, Ruka does get her wish to have a female body, but Okabe (for extenuating reasons it would be mildly spoilery to say) doesn't believe it and insists that Ruka's "a dude."

It's honestly rather heartbreaking, but the rest of the story is fascinating. So I enjoy everything else, and skip that one terrible scene.

i feel like alot of people don't seem to understand that when people online are like ""I want a movie where the man cries" or "I want an anime where they don't sexualize little girls" they don't actually base weather or not they want to watch a piece of media on "does this have a trope i like/don't like". they just want the media they already like to have not have that shitty trope. when somebody complains about common tropes in shonen anime and you are like "well maybe you should stop watching shonen anime" it's like no they actually do like one piece they just don't like the occasional transmisogyny that sometimes comes with it.

Like she literally changes the past to be born as a girl, and she seems so much more confident and happy whenever she appears as a girl in some world lines, compared to when she's a boy
