Something about winter, Christmas time, in particular, that seemed to bring out the inner romantic in you. Perhaps it was the fact that a multitude of couples seemed to come out of hibernation during these specific months, or maybe it was something inherently romantic about the first snowfall—whatever it was, for lack of a better word, this was the season where you grew almost unbearably lonely.

This feeling of loneliness could explain your current situation, finding yourself at a holiday party that you would have usually never gone to under normal circumstances. That’s how you found yourself, leaning against a wall in the living room, a cup of sparkling apple cider in your hand, watching as other partygoers were dancing merrily and laughing as the festive sound of Christmas music swirled in the air.

There was a second reason why you also attended this bore of a party, and it came in the form of a man named Bang Chan. Even in this small gathering of people, you could easily spot him, his dark hair and handsome features standing out easily from the crowd. He was chatting with Jisung, his hands animatedly flying around as he retold a story, causing a small smile to appear on your lips. As he could sense your gaze on him, his gaze immediately caught your own—his brown eyes twinkling as a smirk wormed its way onto his lips.

You couldn’t turn your eyes away from watching as his gaze dipped for a moment, excusing himself from his conversation with Jisung before grabbing his drink and making his way towards you. There was something mischievous about the smile on his lips, something that you couldn’t necessarily pinpoint. Still, it nevertheless caused a smile to grace your lips as well. Chan was a mere ten steps away from reaching you before another hand grasped his wrist, your greeting for him dying on your tongue before it could even escape past your lips. His gaze was immediately drawn away from you and onto her; you could immediately feel the way your whole body grew hot as you wanted nothing more than to tear your eyes away from the scene in front of you.

Her presence was nothing but a pure annoyance for you. It was apparent to you from the beginning that she had a crush on Chan, and in all honesty, you couldn’t blame her—he was stunning after all. Yet, the sole reason that she got on your nerves was due to the way she reeked of desperation. It followed her everywhere she went, the unparalleled foolishness that influenced every single one of her actions around the male. And you were absolutely sick of it.

You could practically smell her sickly sweet perfume from where you were standing, watching with your fists clenched as she batted her eyelashes at him while speaking. If looks could kill, she would have been dead on the spot. However, after taking a deep breath, you knew that Chan was his own person, and while it was unclear whether or not he liked her back—he was able to take care of himself.

Taking a sip of your cider, you leaned back against the wall, merely watching the scene unfold in front of you. That girl seemed to have him cornered as he indulged her in some small talk, as you watched waiting for his chance to escape. Yet, you could only see everything in slow motion. One minute she was caressing his arm, and the next minute she, was dangling a mistletoe between their two faces and pulling him into a kiss.

At that moment, all you could see was red.

“What the hell was that, Chan?”

You were practically sprinting up the stairs, your hand grasping onto his wrist like a vice as you dragged him to the second floor of the apartment. After opening the first door on the right—the bathroom—you pulled him inside behind you before releasing his arm from your grasp.

The door slammed closed loudly, and you angled your body to face him. Your breath came out in short little puffs, eyebrows furrowed, and arms crossed tightly over your chest. Taking a couple of deep breaths in an attempt to simmer your emotions, you meet his gaze with your fiery one; only then can you feel your feelings begin to boil once again.

“Me? What did I do wrong?” With his eyebrows raised and his voice raising slightly higher than usual, he stared back at you with a look of puzzlement on his face. For a moment, he paused, scratching his head, before he continued to speak. “I saw the mistletoe, and the next thing I know, she’s kissing me! I just followed the tradition, that’s all.”

Your eyes narrowed at his words, your lips setting into an even deeper frown.

“Following tradition? She’s liked you for months—she’s even the one who was dangling the stupid plant over your head!” you exclaimed, throwing your hands up in the air. “That was her plan all along, and you just went right along with it.”

“Well, what did you want me to do? Embarrass her in front of everyone; that’s a bit cruel don’t you think?” You could hear it in his voice, the way after every word, his lips began to curl around each syllable—his accent growing thicker as he continued to speak. “It was also just a peck! Why are you care about the people I kiss?”

The bitterness that emanated from the entire situation sat heavily at the back of your throat. You couldn’t contain yourself anymore; the emotions you tried so hard to control were beginning to spill over—influencing actions that you tried to suppress. And before you could stop yourself, you barred your soul to him.

“Why? Because I’m in love with you, okay? Is that enough of a reason for you?”

The silence in the room was deafening, and you could practically feel every pulse of your heart as it hammered against your chest. You were an idiot, a complete and utter dumbass. To make matters worse, there was this look that he was giving you, of what you could only deduce as pity, was absolutely revolting. And as soon as your walls fell, they were quickly rebuilt in a matter of seconds.

“You know what, just forget I said anything.”

Turning away from him, you reached forward to grab the door handle in front of you, opening the door and preparing your departure. However, you couldn’t even make it a step out of the room before the door was slammed promptly in your face once more. Whipping your head around so fast nearly gave you whiplash, your wide eyes coming face-to-face with Chan’s sheepish expression—his arm pressed casually against the door as he stood in front of you. There it was, that look again, the one that screamed at you to give up on this hopeless delusion and face the reality of the situation. You knew that to protect yourself and, more importantly, your heart, you should give up now. But, that all changed as the distance between your faces grew smaller.

His eyes softened under your gaze, any and all traces of his defensive demeanor vanishing in an instant, and all that was left was the Chan that you knew—the one that you fell in love with. At this moment, your faces are only millimeters apart, your back pressed against the back of the door with his chest pressed against your own. You were unsure if the hammering in your chest was due to your own heart beating erratically or his, your breath hitching in your throat as you watched his eyes flit down to your lips before meeting your gaze once more.

“Can I kiss you?”

A quick nod of your head was all it took before his lips collided with your own. And at that moment, you could swear that your entire body was ablaze. You could feel every subtle movement of his fingertips and the way they became tangled in your hair and the way his lips moved seamlessly against your own. Your entire body was buzzing, as if you were electrocuted, tingling from the sensations that only he could give you. And you couldn’t help but feel a bit breathless as he finally pulled his lips away.

You could practically drown in the softness that was pooling in his eyes. His apology was almost written all over his face, in the way his shoulders slumped down, and his lips were turned into a deep frown.

“I’m sorry if I knew about your feelings before I would have never kissed her. You’re all I’ve ever wanted and all that I could ever need—it’s always been you,” Chan’s breath is warm as it fans across your slightly swollen lips. Instead of answering, you merely captured his lips with your own once more, and after feeling his lips move in sync with yours—you knew that he understood.

In the end, you got precisely what you wanted for Christmas, no mistletoe needed.

hi corynn i finally got around to reading enigma! and wow, an evil reader? and their accomplice minho? i love to see it🧛🏻‍♀️🤍reader was a vampire of some sorts right? indulgence’s readers evil twin me thinks. haha but seriously what a great fic corynn i think you’re great at writing horror and making people hooked to find out what happens! when they told jisung not to beg because it pissed them off i was like oh my god, brutal😭i know horror isn’t popular among reader inserts but it was so fun to read🥰

but oh yeah, reader and minho have absolutely NO chill, kinda have to for their line of work i guess😭 i saw your theory in the tags of your reblog, about reader just pretending jisung is sick to keep him there. i wrote this in a day, so i never really thought about it but.. i really like that idea. there’s a sequel in there somewhere, maybe of another member who lives in the hospital figuring out about the whole greater scheme going on after jisung’s death, and realizing that none of them are naturally sick. then it’s them trying to escape.👀 idk something to think about perhaps…

ro! i finally had the time to read seven days to fall in love and i LOVED it🤍🥰the mutual pining… wow i honestly loved it so much? the actions felix would do were so utterly sweet, it was SO obvious that he was in love but reader was so clueless until literally everyone told them. even felix being all yeah i assumed😖i also loved how the main reason reader refused to admit their feelings because it’s felix but then later on it’s felix because it’s felix was such a great call back! and the confession scene was SO fluffy yet hilarious because felix simultaneously ruined yet perfected the moment? like way to steal reader’s thunder but it was cute so🤣i liked the side characters too, katya and marisol were adorable🤍such a great fic ro, i enjoyed every second reading it🥰🤍(also i can’t wait for infinity knot!)

corynn!!!! i just read 600 degrees and ahhhhh i LOVED it!🥰first of all, the banter between reader and minho was so funny. i thought their dynamic was great. and then with chan i liked how there was still banter but as you explained it was different. and then chan being into reader but thinking they were with minho😭 gosh neighbor chan seems so cute, you were able to capture it perfectly! i loved his characterization so much🥺🤍and the moment where they kissed and things escalated a bit only for minho to ruin it was tragic yet perfect too? i enjoyed how everything played out, i loved every word i read, this has definitely become one of my favorites. the ending definitely makes me wonder what happens next, i can imagine them having a proper dinner and then minho teasing reader all about it🥰

CORYNNNNNNN! i finished indulgence chapter 7 and aaaaaahhh. first of all… i KNEW it! i KNEW it! i knew hyunjin was still alive i’m so happy he ended up being alive!🥰but then… jeongin. here i was hoping to have ot8 but he had to die huh… he had to be the one to be let go. poor guy he deserved better he just wanted to help!!!!!!😞i had no idea there was going to be a character death because i forgot to read the warnings so it came as even more of a surprise😭 corynn what to say, indulgence has been such a captivatingly wonderful journey and i have been enjoying every second of it! the action was great and some of those descriptions of the chaos were perfectly unsettling😌i was also not expecting an epilogue i thought everything would be wrapped up in this chapter so now i’m super excited!🤍🤍🤍🤍

CORYNN! i read chapter one for indulgence and it’s too late. i have accepted my fate, i am HOOKED🥰🤍first of all, i’m so glad to finally read something where reader is a vampire! i feel like it’s always the member who’s the vampire which is fun of course but wow the reader being a vampire? yes please😌chapter one was so good corynn, it makes me so excited to read the rest! the intro did a phenomenal job of showing and not outright telling. you gave us readers an image, an idea of what reader has in store for them and how menacing the counsel could be. it left me invested! and then in the intro when chan was mentioned i just KNEW he would be the ex which makes me feel even more excited? i hope there’s drama about it😉and lastly, wow the chemistry between reader and felix? overflowing. they both had painfully obvious attraction towards each other but i was still pleasantly surprised when things escalated! but WAIT when felix said how it must’ve been a while since reader fed i YELLED!!!!!! gosh, it’s just all SOOOO good corynn. i’m a huge fan already! sorry for rambling so much heh, indulgence is even better than i expected!🤍🤍🤍🤍

and i’m also so happy that you’re liking it! and yess that’s exactly how indulgence started, i just wanted to put a bit of a spin on the vampire trope by making the reader the vamp, and it slowly developed into what it is now hehe.

and YES. ex!chan is quite the character in this story. he certainly stirs up some drama, that’s perhaps even an understatement👀👀

hey corynn! i read turbulence and well, wow😳the fact this was supposed to be a super fluffy drabble haha but i think the suggestive and teasing tone was great! it was super funny to have jisung be all confident and not even 10 minutes later he’s already wrapped around readers finger. and then clueless changbin at the end. i guess reader and jisung just had some major chemistry they went through strangers (enemies?) to potential lovers so quick😌it was such a fun read, i loved it!🤍(next on my priority reading list is indulgence, i can’t wait👀)
