revstar as alnst part2: junnanana as tillivan. i have a LOT to say about this casting it's under the cut (plus versions of the art w/ nana's normal eye color)

i feel junna+nana as till+ivan is a bit less obvious. i think the obvious choice for till would be futaba due to shared sort of rebellious/punk nature...? however if you look closer I think junna fits much more. Till in the end admires the idea of rebelling and does rebel in many ways but in the end never actually takes initiative to get what he wants (getting to know mizi, freedom, etc. he always cowers away). Junna also desires to grasp her own star/take the protagonist role really bad but in the end we see her cowering away like in the movie where she once again recedes into what is familiar to her (academics, studying. taking a backseat role). her reason for entering seisho was to escape the life her parents put upon her of studying/academics and yet she still falls upon these things and refuses to truly Fight for what she wants etc? i think that's similar to till... also of course it is Acting and i think it would be interesting for junna to take a role like till... of a more brash/sensitive character rather than junna's sort of Academic Smart perfect student personality! Also their eyes are roughly the same color

mahiru till is also kind of an obvious choice due to the unrequited feelings towards karen? but the thing is mahiru's is from being at her side and it's from a jealousy of being replaced and lack of self confidence... I just feel like junna fits more... i think ultimately junna's Stubbornness and Determination are what gets her here. it's just easier to picture junna as till IMO. but i think mahiru could also work.

okay sorry that was really long and i haven't even gotten to nana (IF YOU COULDN'T TELL WHO MY FAVES FOR BOTH REVSTAR ND ALNST ARE. you can now.) Anyhow. An essential part of both nana and ivan's characters is Longing for and Watching brilliance. Nana admires brilliance to a point she takes a backstage/side role even though she beats maya again and again in the tournaments (or perhaps it is because of that admiration she is able to beat maya? a lot to think about) constantly admiring that brilliance, yet never taking the chance to truly grasp it...? constantly placing herself in the role of an observer. i think she could connect to ivan's constant observing. also her Caring Mom sort of nature she projects vs the lonely and sometimes offputting kid underneath... also fit's with ivan's whole Prince Charming persona vs how he is Deeply fucked up and emotionally stunted. (junna's line about nana being so tall but also a crybaby, kind of like a kid... lol) Also that one scene from the movie where nana turns her lifeless stage girl body's head over to look as junna. returning to her "role" as an antagonistic force to cut down a junna who has seemingly lost her will to reach for that star... it's similar to r6 ivan seeing till without any fighting spirit i think. only difference is nana is like If you won't fight I will tell you to die and ivan is like I will kill my self in front of you to get you to fight again. Also nana "returning to her obsession with that girl"... "you were brilliant"... nana->junna being an Obsession with that brilliance and desperation v junna->nana being like She is my supportive roommate. this says a lot about society. nana captivated by junna meanwhile junna looks out for her distant star. anyhow. Yes junnana are my favorite starlights and I am done rambling about them now I think this casting fits immensely well
