You ever just. Write a full 12k word fic, figure out how to split it into chapters so that it works, prepare descriptions for said chapters, are just about ready to give it a final look over grammar-wise and start posting,,,,,

And then you check that "one minor detail" you assumed you remembered correctly.

And now about 9-10k words of the fic no longer work.

And you're forced to re-write all of that.
