Hey fellow Northeasterners on Turtle Island, aka the USA and Canada! Recent wildfires are spreading smoke and dangerous air conditions across New England. I only realized this because of social media, so I'm spreading the news further with maps for visuals. Things are officially UNHEALTHY so everyone needs to be careful, especially anyone with heart or lung conditions.

If you're in NY, MA, RI, CT, NJ, etc, please be careful!

Close your windows (consider sealing them if it's really bad)

Wear respirator masks (ex N95s) outside

Turn on air filters if you've got them

Use fans inside to keep cool and keep air moving

Check for air coming in around window AC units! You can probably still use your AC, but remember that their filters generally don't block smoke.

Remember, wildfire smoke doesn't just include burnt up trees but can include all kinds of hazardous materials, so the less outside air inside your house the better. If you've got any DIY Corsi-Rosenthal Boxes around for COVID-19 filtration, they excel at filtering out other dangerous particles too. Here's a diagram for making one, :

Also, try to avoid strenuous activities (ex moving furniture, climbing lots of stairs, etc) and listen to your body's needs. If you need to lay down and do nothing for a while, go for it. Stay hydrated, especially if your throat is getting scratchy! If you've got asthma, make sure your meds are close by.

How Heartsteel would act when they are tipsy. (18+)

Let me say this right off the bat: PLEASE DRINK RESPONSIBLY (AND ONLY IF YOU’RE OF LEGAL AGE TO BE DRINKING). BE KIND TO YOUR LIVERS AND FOLLOW LAWS Y’ALL.

(Seriously drinking too much is not fun. Either while you’re drinking, or the day after. I once learned the hard way in college that I become extremely emotional if I have a bit much and it’s just straight up not a good time. I still drink, but very occasionally and not much.)

Inspiration: Now all that being said……I’d love to have a drink or two with the Heartsteel members. I think that would be so fun!

If you want a calm, chill, but still fun night, Aphelios is the guy to drink with. 100/10 vibes and I’m all here for it.

This is when he’d use more sign language to communicate. (I’m imagining tipsy Phel signing incredibly cheesy pick up lines to his partner and I’m OBSESSED.)

And you know how words can start to slur when people get tipsy? That concept maybe translates into his sign language juuuuust a little bit. Maybe a slightly sloppy sign here or there. But you know him well enough that you know what he’s trying to say.

And while he’s not super touchy, when he’s tipsy, he’s definitely staying connected to you somehow.

Either through linked hands/pinkies, an arm around you, or just some other way of him keeping connected to you.

You two turn into the parent couple a little bit, making sure everyone, including yourselves, is staying safe and hydrated. Aphelios might be mischievous and like pranks, but he knows when it’s time to be more serious, and keeping everyone safe when alcohol is involved is definitely a time to be more serious. (Surprise surprise, you might have thought Yone would be the parent but he’s already the band mom sober. The man needs a break. Out of the other members, I actually think Phel could wrangle people pretty well.)

Ezreal

Ezreal would be such a fun person to drink with just in general, but especially as your S/O. He’s energetic, fun, generally positive. In my experience, those people make for enjoyable beverage buddies (alcoholic or not). He’s the life of any party (#1).

He’s also a lightweight. Absolutely no question in my mind. He’s not a large man by any means. (I love this teeny pop prince.)

It doesn’t matter if the two of you have been together for years, once he’s tipsy, he’s pulling out all his best (read: cheesy as fuck) pick up lines and using them on you.

“Hey, my name is Microsoft. Can I crash at your place tonight?” “Ez, we’ve been dating for over a year.” “Yes we have. And? Can I not flirt with my own partner?” “…Ok that’s very sweet, please continue.” (He always manages to make you blush and make it feel like the first time you met him.)

Only uses them on you though. As flirty as Ez can be, this green bean is LOYAL to you. Only you get his flirty side. Anyone else tries flirting with him and they get some truly bombastic side eye.

Otherwise Ezreal’s just really fun to chat with or play drinking games with. The absolute best beer pong partner. There’s no one more accurate. And unless you’re sitting out a round, he’ll always ask you to be his #2. It doesn’t matter how good or bad you are. When you do sit out and he plays, there’s always an argument about who gets to be his partner. The next best player is Sett, who is also very good, so there’s a house rule that the two of them can’t be on a team together 😂.

Kayn

I was struggling to figure out how to describe Kayn while drinking, and now I realize why I was struggling so very much…

Plot twist: Kayn is sober. (Shoutout to anyone on a sobriety journey, for whatever reason. I have so much respect for you. Our society loves to glorify alcohol and drinking culture, so for those who actively choose to go against that, props to you.)

I genuinely don’t think he drinks at all. Maybe he did in the past but he doesn’t currently. Rock stars historically haven’t always had the best relationship with substances. This could be one of those situations where he realized he didn’t like who he was when he drank.

Kayn is self-aware enough to know he’s already fairly impulsive and a little wild while sober. Alcohol added to that mix wasn’t helping anything. So he stopped and surrounded himself with a network of people that fully support his decision (that ofc includes you and the other Heartsteel members).

Now all of that being said, Kayn still likes to enjoy himself. He’s a fan of fancy beverages, even if they’re non-alcoholic, so he’s always getting a mocktail or a non-alcoholic beer (I’m really glad to see bartenders/companies starting to include NA options. Listen, sometimes I just want to feel fancy and sip a fun beverage that doesn’t have alcohol in it). Having something to sip on makes Kayn feel involved even if he’s the only one in a group that doesn’t have an alcoholic beverage.

Now even though he doesn’t drink, don’t think he’s a spoilsport. Even without alcohol he is a very fun person to be around, so when you’re out with him you’ll still have a great night filled with some shenanigans, fun talks, and laughter.

K’Sante

I’m not kidding when I say I want to have a drink with Heartsteel K’Sante so badly and I’m genuinely a little sad I cannot. I want to pick his brain. I’ve said it before but I get great vibes from him. To me, it’s very easy to see why he’s one of the co-leaders of Heartsteel.

Absolutely gets philosophical/goes into deep conversations when he drinks and those people are SO FUN TO BE AROUND. A perfect companion for someone who might be a little more introverted since he’d be focused only on you and he’d maybe take you somewhere a little quieter so you can hear each other.

I feel like it’s very easy to lose track of time when you’re talking with K’Sante. Like you look down at your phone/watch and an hour has passed just like that while the two of you chat and sip on your drinks.

These deep conversations can be about anything too. Maybe about literature that you’ve both read, dissecting their music with a close eye, discussing the meaning of life, or even him listening to you discuss your problems and offering you advice if you want it.

And even if the topics of discussion are deep, K’Sante is still making things light hearted. He never wants to cause you to not enjoy your evening.

In between discussions of deeper topics, he’s cracking some jokes or telling you funny stories about himself, his family, or the other members of Heartsteel. Whatever is being discussed, the overall vibe with K’Sante is very safe and fun. When you have a drink with him, settle in and enjoy a fun night talking about anything and everything.

Sett

Oh my god Sett would be so fun to have a drink with. He absolutely gives off “life of the party” vibes (#2) and I absolutely love that for everyone around him. Hell he gives off those vibes without alcohol.

This is going to be so damn specific: Sett gives me slight frat bro vibes BUT IN THE VERY BEST WAY!! (I SWEAR I mean this as a compliment!)

When I was in university/undergrad, I was in a sorority. (Hehe surprise! I’m definitely not the stereotypical sorority girl.) Because of this I am familiar with fraternities and frat bros. While generally I don’t have a high opinion of them, there was one frat on campus that was actually awesome. Their guys were safe/fun to be around, respectful, and kind (a lot of them were athletes so they knew they better behave if they wanted to stay on their teams).

THAT is the kind of frat bro vibe I get from Heartsteel Sett. Ma raised him fucking right. He has manners and is incredibly respectful to those around him always. (Unless they give him reason not to be but that’s a whole different thing.)

And just like Ez, his flirty side is totally coming out, but again, only with you. I can’t imagine Sett ever being unfaithful in a relationship. Ma raised him far better then that.

And if you’re out with him and getting unwanted attention, he’s definitely sticking up for you, whether or not you’re dating him. Hell even if you’re a stranger, he’s the type to pretend to be your boyfriend/brother/friend to get you out of a situation. Just overall a 100/10 man to be around. You’ll definitely have a blast with him!

Yone (Yes his is long but listen, I have thoughts!)

This man. This man is my dark horse. There are two possible ways I see Yone acting when tipsy. 1. Completely fucking normal and alcohol doesn’t affect him like at all. 2. Turns him into a clingy koala man who is a lightweight.

Clingy koala man is far more entertaining so THAT’S WHAT WE’RE GOING WITH. I feel like it doesn’t take much for him to feel it. Part of that is, Yone wouldn’t drink that much to begin with. Maybe a glass of wine on a dinner date with you, or the occasional drink at a party, but otherwise it’s not his thing.

All this to say, when he does have something, he definitely feels it. And that’s when he’ll be glued to your side. Now obviously if you’re in public, he’s not going to be wrapped around you, but even then, he’ll link arms to walk with you, keep his hand on the small of your back, or even link pinkies with you.

Now if you two are alone? And you’re not going anywhere for the evening? Oh all bets are off. You better do everything you need to do before sitting down with him, because once you do, he’s pulling you into his lap and that is going to be your spot for the foreseeable future. (It’s like the unspoken pet rule: “if a pet is on you, you’re not allowed to move until they do” but in reverse. As long as Yone is cuddling you, you’re not allowed to move. [Like of course you’re allowed to move, especially if you need to go to the bathroom or get more comfortable. He’s not an asshole. But he just really loves holding you.])

You’re already the only person besides Heartsteel’s hair stylist Yone lets touch his hair, but when he’s tipsy? He practically leans his head into your touch until you play with his hair, sighing happily as you do. He especially loves when you braid it. (God damn I want to braid his hair so badly.)

him, out of everyone in the cast, 100% relates to you the most. people tend to judge a book by its cover, and its always bothered him! he believes that even if a person looked scary, or intimidating, you should get to know them before making any assumptions on their character!

everyone he's met has always assumed he was a lot meaner than he actually is just because of his appearance, when in reality, he always extends a helping hand to people, and wants to be a reliable person to those around him. you both are one in the same, and thats probably why he gravitated towards you in the first place.

wasn't scared of you when you two first met. he never wanted to treat others how he had been treated, and actively ignored what he felt, or heard from others, so he could treat everyone equally, and give everybody a fair shot to introduce themselves how they wish.

always advocates for the others to get to know you first before jumping to any conclusions. if anyone's ever told him they were scared of you, he'd instantly be countering their assumptions, and offering to formally introduce you to them so that they'd be able to see how kind you are with their own eyes.

confronts anyone who talks badly about you or starts spreading rumors just because they think you're hard to approach. its not only immoral, but its also effecting someone he loves, he'll make sure they learn a lesson!

being completely honest, he's not a guy who understands witchcraft and magick, but he respects what you do and acknowledges it takes a lot of effort to do right. isn't one to mock or undermine it, he's just very curious about it.

will ask plenty of questions because he wants to learn more about anything, especially anything involving you. forgive him if some of his questions seem a little insensitive or misinformed, you're his first introduction to this type of thing and he's really trying his best to be educated.

is especially annoyed when others use your beliefs and practices to reinforce their biased views on you, when their views are just based off of appearances. he's your biggest defender, and will debate an entire group of people publicly just to defend your honor.

appreciates the people who are your friends so much. he always tries to leave a good impression on them, and makes sure his gratitude for their actions is known.

a lot of people see you two as the "intimidating but really kind" power couple. you both present yourselves in ways that make others think you're unapproachable, but you two are actually the most warm, helpful people ever.

as a couple, you play really nicely off of each other. with taka's tendency to be very direct, mixed with your want to have the best possible outcome for all parties, misunderstanding very rarely happens, and the communication is very clear.

everyone in his class has positive opinions of you, even if they don't show it as much as the others. seeing how you act around him, and how much effort you put into the relationship is bound to rub off on them at some point. you've won all of class 78th over, which is not an easy feat!

all in all, you and taka being a couple is a match made in heaven. you both understand each other so deeply, have great chemistry, and compliment each other so much. everyone's rooting for you two, and it makes both you and him feel so happy.

Hi everyone! I know I've been kinda silent on here lately, and I apologize for that. I have a couple of asks to reply to and I have a couple of things that I've been tagged in that I also need to rb - I will get to them, I promise!

Life got kind of busy, and I didn't exactly anticipate that. Long story short, we've been doing work on our house, and what we thought was going to be a quick inspection to lower our insurance rates has turned into...well, a whole process that has been going on for a few weeks.

I've only been able to get on here for a few minutes each day to make sure that nothing has exploded. And even though I've been able to write a little bit here and there, I don't have anything finished. I beg your indulgence whilst I take the time to craft more fic courses for thine consumption. Masterlist

At a young age Ao'nung and his friends had already been talking about an Ideal mate. He didn't really think much of it since at the moment he didn't care about mates. His main goal was to be a great leader just like his father, that changed when he met you. You were Roxto's younger sister, just like your brother you were kind hearted, but also gentle.

You'd hang around your brother a lot, since he was always spotted with Ao'nung and Tsireya you'd stick around with them. You and Tsireya got along right away, Ao'nung would be shy around you. Even though you were both acquainted, he'd freeze up when you'd be around. When Roxto noticed his friend's shyness around you, he'd often tease to Ao'nung that he liked you. He'd always deny it, but deep down he was already growing feelings for you.

Ao'nung was very observant, he's always catch you weaving something, whether it was a fishing net, a basket, waist beads, a new top for one of your sister's or Tsireya. You were a good weaver thanks to the amount of practice you had. The day you had weaved him a necklace, he knew that he had fully fallen for you, since then on, he had promised himself to court you when you were both of age.

Years had gone on, and you were both already considered of age. While he was busy training for his rite to passage, you continued to weave. You had got better at your work thanks to the years. Everyone had seemed to love your work, you'd always get compliments on your weaving, some had ever asked if you could make them something. Being the kind person that you were, you'd always do so, you loved making things for others. But just like you had grown, so have others. Boys had began to grow an interest in you. Ao'nung would notice how everyday boys would go to you and complement your weaving, even ask you if you could make them something. Ao'nung was not liking it one bit.

That afternoon Ao'nung had returned from hunting with Roxto on the canoe. They had manage to get big fish that were hard to catch. They were unloading the boat. Ao'nung saw how you were at the beach, collecting things for your next work, but you were not alone. Nash'vi was with you, holding one of the baskets you had made, he was helping you while also keeping you company.

"You know if you can court her now right? No one had yet to court y/n" Roxto got his friend's attention by this. "Really?" Ao'nung asked, wanting to be sure that the water from his ears didn't effect his hearing. "Yeah, unless you want Nash'vi or Koro to court my sister, they have a huge interest in her too." Roxto explained while Ao'nung was now fuming by this information. The betrayal, his own friends wanting to court the girl of his dreams. "She likes waist beads" Roxto commented, making Ao'nung turn to him in confusion. "Y/n likes waist beads, if you wanted to know. Don't worry, no one knows except for you. Mister Observant" He teased his friend, who was still shooting daggers at Nash'vi who was making you laugh.

Later that day Ao'nung went to look for the prettiest pearls he could find, along with other small shells and pretty crystals. Once he had collected enough material, he got to work. He was very focused on making a waist bead for you, even if he had to stay up all night he was not going to stop until he made the perfect waist bead, for you.

He spent hours and hours trying to place the beads together, but the string would just burst, making him pick up the beads and pearls that rolled on the Marui floor. He was alone since his parents and Tsireya had things to do, he'd get frustrated when he'd have to start again, specially since he'd forget the pattern.

He was focused on the new pattern that he didn't see you approaching the Marui pod. "Ao'nung?" when he heard your sweet voice, he looked up from his work, seen you standing their with a smile planted on your pretty face. Seen you always made his days much easier, but this time he felt his nerves acting up, since he was making something for you, but you were here.

"Is Tsireya here? I brought her the headpiece that she asked." You said sweetly, holding up the shell with a string of pretty beads. This shell was one a Tsahik in training's would wear, Tsireya and Ronal had asked you if you could come up with something for Tsireya since she was in her training period. "No, she's with my mother and father." He explained, still holding his work in his hands. "Oh okay" you stopped and saw the beads on the Marui floor and some broken string.

"What are you making?" you asked, Eywa were you a curious creature. "I'm making a waist bead for.. for... Tsireya!" he blurted out, feeling his face heat up. You only smiled and sat in front of him. "Mind if I help you?" you asked, he looked into your sweet eyes and nodded slowly. You smiled and looked at the materials he had. "You have really pretty stuff, if you still have some can I borrow some? I'll get you more I promise." You said, Ao'nung could never say no to you. "Of course, you don't have to pay them back, you can just keep them." He said, feeling his face heat up even more.

You got a hold of a string and some beads, you began to show him how to come up with a pattern and how to properly tie the string tightly in order for the beads to not go everywhere. He paid close attention to your instructions, but also he'd get distracted your gentle voice and how close you'd get to him, to show him your work, to see if he was following your steps.

After a while of weaving, you were finished with yours and so was Ao'nung. He had made a very pretty one with a combination of crystal like beads, some wooden ones and a few sea shells. "Wow Ao'nung that one's pretty! I'm sure Tsireya will love it!" you commented, loving his work. If he wasn't such a shy fool, he'd tell you that it was for you, but he couldn't find the woods to tell you that the waist beads were for you. "I'm sure she will." That was all he said, dammit! He thought. "It's getting late, I have to head home, but can you give this to Tsireya?" you asked, handing over the headpiece to him. In which he took, making his fingers touch your soft palms. "Of course" he said with a shy smile, seen your smile widen. "Thank you Ao'nung, I'll see you tomorrow" you said then left the Marui, heading back home.

Ao'nung watched you leave, he felt as if you took his heart with you. "Idiot!" he smacked himself on the forehead. "Why didn't you just give it to her!" he groaned, mad at himself. He sigh in defeat, but he couldn't help but smile, even if it was just a few hours, he got to spend some time with you, alone with out his sister and your brother.

Hope everyone is having a great summer! And to those of you in the trenches of band camp, I hope you are staying cool and hydrated!

Here are a few updates for how things are going. We've been chipping away at fixing a couple bugs such as the missing ending, the fact Poptart's CG only unlocks in the gallery in the bad ending, etc.

Progress is a bit slow since I had to save Hyrule from Ganondorf and now I have to raise a child on a farm, and very soon I will have to journey to a different planet on a rescue mission (don't you love video games). I also went to add in the missing ending and in true Taylor fashion crashed the whole menu, but Ross came and bailed me out.

Also: while going through voice lines to grab bloopers, my sister and I realized we missed a couple voice clips, a Tom and a Peter. Those rascals! I'll have to go back through the game at some point to program those in.

It's doubtful we'll get the updated game out this month, which has flown by. Otakon is looming and we need to start packing! Speaking of Otakon, this is my cosplay lineup. My dream is to meet a Band Camp Boyfriend fan in the wild one day. If you see me, please say hi.

I will give you a business card with Poptart or Tom on it.

Alex has a very cute Cadence cosplay, too. Maybe she will let me post a picture of her.

Alex and I have also been writing future blog posts, her on composing Band Camp Boyfriend's soundtrack, mine on the wonderful world of marketing. Keep an eye out for those on our website if that sounds interesting to you!

Finally, I mentioned in our June post about Visual Novel Fest and then saw Steam didn't want us to announce participation until like a week before...uhhh oops...I mean I didn't announce it, I just kind of mentioned it without any fanfare, right? Anyways we'll be streaming during the fest and we will have TWO SPECIAL GUESTS who were involved in the game. I will announce who closer to the date so keep an eye on our social media!

hey everyone. there’s a lot i can’t say right now, because behind the scenes things have gotten pretty insane, to say the least. i want to ask that people not try to contact orion through me, or anyone else, as i’m not in contact with him at the moment. for the foreseeable future, he won’t be reachable. please don’t spam his social media, or the social media of anyone involved who hasn’t made a statement yet. we either can’t respond for various reasons or are processing quite a shocking situation. as for what i think, personally—it’s so much more complicated than i ever thought it could be. i am learning things about my partner i never thought i would learn, and seeing things about others i never thought i’d see. there’s a lot that’s happened in the past couple days that i can’t and don’t want to make public right now, because i’m frankly shaken to my very core, and i’ve been advised by multiple mental health professionals to take a step back from the situation, which i’ve done to the best of my ability. but i know i need to say something, so here it is. i hope you understand that i can’t say much without being able to talk to either major party involved. i acted in the way i thought was right, with all the details i was given at the time, and now i am very unsure of what to do. i will need time and space to process. i didn’t know about a lot of what has been revealed. i wish i could share more with you, to give you a clearer picture of what’s happening on our end. but i can’t. please understand that. i want to say that i strongly condemn the transphobic and antisemitic abuse that is being spewed by some very hateful people right now. there is no excuse to be bigoted towards entire groups, no matter what you think of an individual. posting nazi propaganda is not helping anyone. please call this out when you see it. thank you for anyone who has showed me kindness, especially to my friends (whether online or physical) who have been endlessly patient with me. thank you to everyone who has been showing maturity and restraint in their words, no matter their opinion. i hope everyone reading this is well. please take care of yourselves, stay hydrated, and remember to catch some sunlight.

Hiya everyone!

I’m so sorry I haven’t been active on here for a while. I’ve been feeling quite low lately, having those negative thoughts getting the best of me. So I took a break from writing. I wasn’t feeling like myself, I haven’t been feeling too great…

While I was away from Tumblr, I’ve been thinking about whether to quit or not. Normally I don’t try and say this kind of stuff but I honestly…*sigh*… hate my writing so much. I feel like my fanfics are not worth reading, that they’re not really good enough…

I’ve dragged myself down to the mud, thinking so negatively about myself. The time arrived when I decided to not quit on writing fanfics. I love to write fanfics since it actually makes me happy. I don’t do it for the attention or anything like that, I do it because it’s one of my hobbies to do. It’s one of my favourite things to do.

So I don’t know when I’m going to post a new fanfic or when I’m going to start writing one. I promise you, something on here will come soon.

I just need time to heal myself and recover. That’s all I want to say.
