He had met MJ in the Park for lunch. He had got coffee for the both of them & she had arrived with two of the best sandwiches Peter had ever laid his eyes on. Peter would be a liar if he didn't look forward to these sorts of moments. Twenty-minute vacations in the park, a breath of peace in the relentless chaos that seemed to follow at his heel. He always kept pushing on, pushing forward. It was what he did. But that made these brief interactions all the more valuable. She made the weight of the world seem a little less heavy.

There's something bright that bubbles in his chest, like butterflies batting at his ribcage. She could probably hear the way his heart skips a beat when she offers him an earbud. They were wireless, but he still uses it as an excuse to scoot a little closer, hoping she won't mind. They had been spending more time together lately & it felt like a dream to Peter. He had always cared for MJ but it felt like things were changing between them... Which was beautiful & terrifying all at once.

They enjoyed their lunch, chatting in between songs. On more than one occasion the bright feeling in Peter's chest rose in the form of laughter. It was easy to forget everything that had happened in the past years at her side & just feel... normal. There was a song she had played a handful of times that only fed into energy. They moved in their seats, tapping their feet & moving their shoulders in the tune of the song... That is, until, the chorus rolled along. Peter hopped up off of the bench suddenly.

" I really, really, really, really, really, really like you," The abrupt action gained a few glances from a few people passing by. Peter doesn't seem to mind. He points at her, not thinking about the implications of the lyrics... He's more interested in spouting the lyrics while riding the high energy of the song, "And I want you, do you want me, do you want me, too?
