are there any new(ish) and cheap drawing tablets you recommend? That old one you posted looks pretty cool and kinda like exactly what i might want maybe...

hmm good question! i'll admit i'm quite out of the loop on tablets nowadays, i generally have used XP-Pen so i really recommend those products. they have all sorts of different ones and several are very affordable. the tablet i took to work and did that last tsukasa on was one i bought maybe 6+ years ago but it's still great and on the market, it's a XP-Pen StarG640, looking at amazon and it goes for ~$30-40 usd!

i use a screen tablet these last couple years but you really don't need one to start off with by any means

Thank you 🎉🎉!!! I use XPPEN devices to draw my digital art. If you want to get into specifics, the new one I just got (the one without a screen) is an XPPEN StarG640, and the one I have at home is an XPPEN Artist13.3 Pro.

I remember when I was a pre-teen/younger teen and my main community was Deviantart the "big gift" everyone wanted for their birthdays or Christmas was a drawing tablet. They were expensive and wacom was the only brand around. I never ended up getting one as a kid, but nowadays its nice that there's a lot of alternative brands and they're just way cheaper.

Right now I'm using a $25 XPPen StarG640. I bought more for digital notetaking during covid online classes, then brought it out again when I decided learning to draw and it does the job. Very small (but I don't have a lot of desk space anyways) and only two shortcut keys (two buttons on the pen) but again its just nice that if you want to get started with digital art these days, most people can just buy a tablet rather than starting with a mouse and saving buying a tablet for until they "get serious" about drawing. Like I know sometimes even $25 can be too much for people because of their financial situation, or it might not be as cheap in their country. And I know you can draw with a mouse. But overall, its definitely cheaper and there's more options and doesn't need to be as big of an "investment" as it was 15 years ago, and that's nice.

tried my new graphic pen tablet (Star G640 XP-Pen) in a Mathematical Physics Zoom lecture with Dr. Lacson and Engr. I like this brand; I think it’s smooth and they give you a wide range of pressure levels. If these STILL cost too much, there are ones that i’ve seen that sells for like 20 dollars?

Just posted my last page of @vowcomic to be completed on a Saturday night for awhile. My seasonal leadership position is wrapping up Sunday the 5th, which means I will be back to my old weekend schedule of Tuesday - Thursday starting this week. My bosses think I did a phenomenal job, & have given me their blessing to pursue a long term leadership position, that will hopefully put me back on a Sunday - Wednesday work shift, which is what I would prefer over my old one, Friday - Monday.

I also have to say goodbye to my current Huion tablet. It’s not working as it should, & I’ve decided to invest in a different tablet with a warranty & all, called an XP-PEN StarG640. Every time I use a Huion, it also messes up in a matter of months. The XP will be here tomorrow, the 6th. Hopefully my next page will be here on Tuesday.
