Inktober + Rocktober Day 30 ⭐️
Moon! Or my weird interpretation of (Stardroid) Ra Moon anyway. He might as well just be an oc at this point but I can’t think of a better name for him 😆 the only character that gives me a headache when I write him in rp because of his irregular speech pattern.

One of the biggest missed opertunites in Mega man was to not have Ailens from elsewhere in the series have major roles or even cameos in mega man starforce
I mean how cool would it be to have Duo.exe return to earth and meet Geo and train him hiw to utilize justice energy, and then geo ends up joining the star marshals or whatever they are.
Im pretty sure he said he'd return in a few centuries, well its been a couple centuries, abs multiple galactic incidents around earth, where are ya!
Ra moon would aslo be cool to see, though I suppose that's just Le mu, his name in Japan is literally Ra mu and he lead an ancient civilization to killing itself, which sounds very ra moon like to me. But they should have done more with it if that was the case, there's no Ra Thor.exe or anything of that nature, he doesn't even look like Ra moon he just has a name that sounds like him! Seriously missed opertunity.
don't even get me started on the stardroids! It would be so cool to see Navi/EM-ian versions of them, it would aslo help strengthen Starforces ties to the rest of the series and gave us more lore on all these aliens which we are lacking in! I can't be the only one who wants to see this right?

hello! How are you doing? Feeling any better since you caught that cold? This ask is gonna be about Sunstar mainly so I’m gonna split this up into different parts based on the questions. Knowing that Duo attacked and badly injured him I’m curious as to why? Was it cause of the bad emotions that he gave off and effected the other stardroids? Or just a chance encounter that didn’t go well? And does he just stay at one NEC or does he get the other one?
Emotions and relationship wise: Does the NEC still effect his emotions or are they more apparent then before because he only has one of the NEC he had originally? Does this change his behavior in anyway than what he was like originally? Especially his relationship with Terra and Minx(the last ask with his and Does he have any other relationships with the stardroids or know any Navis?
knowing that he’s the leader of the stardroids what does he do exactly?
with his ability being effected by emotions which sorts of emotions cause a increase in heat? Excitement, love, anger, etc. and just an angsty thought that came up has he ever out of instinct tried to grab someone out of panic or reflex and ended up burning them instead? (I assume he’s very careful but the concept of it happening to anyone(Minx, Terra, stardroid) is just a curiosity)
I hope you’re doing well! Have a good day/night! Thank you
I'm doing much better now, thank you! I don't get sick often, so I was a bit caught off-guard, but it also happened right before break when a bunch of assignments were nearing their deadlines.
Hopefully I'll be able to dedicate way more time to shoveling out Brainrot AU stuff now.
This is a long one! I'll post my answers below the cut.
Why did Duo attack?
There’s a lot of lore for Duo in my AU, but I'm gonna try to simplify it here.
It’s canon in the MMBN anime that Duo began to see his creators and their civilization as evil, and that he eventually destroyed all life on Earth during that time before leaving on a rocket that mimics the appearance of a comet (which is powered by Negative Energy).
In my AU, he sees all NEC-Navis as inherently “evil.”
He uses this comet to approach sources of “evil,” and gives any intelligent life he comes across a “test” to determine whether or not they as a whole are evil and should be destroyed. This also means that Sunstar and the Stardroids are always on his radar. They have clashed several times.
Duo is the first and only Viren Navi with 5 GV-Crystals in his body, and Sunstar only absorbed the extra 3 NE crystals in his body to stand a chance against Duo when no other NE-Navi could. Unfortunately, he had no idea the consequences would be so dire, and was too far gone to stop by the time he realized.
Does he just stay at one NEC?
No. Sunstar is reduced to one NEC after Duo’s attack, but he does eventually regain up to 4 out of the 5 total.
The stardroids secure the two that go into his forearms before arriving to Earth.
Terra obtains the fourth, one of his original two that go in his chest, from Ra Moon after the Stardroids arrive on New Earth.
Minx finds the 5th later..but that’s not important right now =)
Sunstar was never ”woken up” after the attack from Duo until Terra restored his other original NEC from Ra Moon inside his chest. All the Stardroids knew of the possible side effects from either losing or receiving damage to an Energy Crystal: there had been plenty of personal and historical references to use.
Had they activated him with one NEC, Sunstar would have been missing a huge chunk of his memories. In addition to this, he would have felt his emotions with an all-new intensity that he was unfamiliar with. Think of a usually calm and intimidating individual getting reduced to tears on a regular basis or verbally lashing out after an insult that wouldn’t have normally phased him. Positive side effects would be a temporarily clear mind and non-firey hands, but the downsides outweighed them tenfold.
The change would definitely put a strain on his relationships. It’d be like having to learn about a person all over again.
What are his relationships?
Most Earth Navis Sunstar is familiar with he has met through/with Minx when he was still “Ra Moon.” He couldn’t/wouldn’t make many friends for several reasons, but some notable cases include:
Napalmman: Both love to talk about their respective netops (Nenji/Minx), and their shared love for explosions and anything fire-related. Friend!
Also occasionally talks with some coworker Navis Napalmman is friends with.
Sprout: Carson’s hilariously underwhelming but overpowered normalnavi. Carson is one of Minx’s older brothers, and due to plot reasons, Sprout is the only other Navi Ra Moon would see occasionally when Minx was a child.
Shadowman: Frenemies. He and Miyabi tried kidnapping him several times at one point, and Ra Moon loves to tease/annoy him whenever he gets the chance.
Shademan: Hate. Can and will fight on sight.
Forte/Bass: Sympathetic, but best to avoid. His relationship with Dr. Cossack (manga-based) is semi-mirrored by his relationship with Minx.
As for the other Stardroids…I hate to admit I have not thought of many specific interactions between Sunstar and all of them. This is the perfect opportunity to brainstorm though! Hmm..
Saturn would likely be chilly to Sunstar given his crush on Terra. Sunstar would probably dislike his poor work ethic and pull the occasional prank on him.
Venus looks up to him, and while Sunstar finds her adorable, he regularly gives her physically harder tasks (like leading training sessions) to satiate her pride.
Sunstar is practically the only one who interacts with Mars–they both have a mutual understanding of the other, as each were deemed “monsters” by the Viren civilization. I wouldn’t describe them as friends, though.
Mercury annoys him to hell and back and Sunstar does his best to station Mercury as far away from himself as possible.
Jupiter is one of the only Stardroids who will actively seek out Sunstar without going through Terra first. He has a deep respect for Sunstar’s strength, and finds him less intimidating due to his friendship with Uranus.
Uranus is terrified of Sunstar but plays it off with bravado by challenging him to fights. He has yet to win.
Sunstar likes Pluto and Jupiter maybe the most due to their sort-of friendship with Terra. Also, because Sunstar is absolutely a cat person.
I’ll need to think further on some of the other ones.
What does he do?
Sunstar was created to serve as a symbol of protection for Virens, but more importantly for NEC Navis. He shadowed Terra for three major things:
How to lead as a representative for NEC Navi’s
How to observe and deal with hostile rival alien civilizations that may pose a threat to specific Viren settlements
How to prevent and manage NE-Navi-related disputes while striving for a positive social image
Admittedly, Sunstar shadowed Terra for a majority of his time after being created. He very rarely acted without first consulting or collaborating with Terra first. Terra had both more knowledge and experience than him, but he also commanded more trust and respect from the population and other Viren leaders/council members.
Before Duo mutinied against the Viren civilization on Earth, Sunstar wanted to implement at least two policies/practices:
Raising awareness of and liquidating misinformation surrounding the nature of Negative Energy Crystals and NE-Navis.
The removal of exclusively positive or negative energy crystals.
He had proof it was possible for a hybrid design.
Now, though?
His ship is stranded on Earth with Duo no doubt closing in. The civilization that he was responsible for previously before is dead. The only thing he can do is try to protect the life he has secured on New Earth with friends and family, new and old.
--
After reawakening with 4 NECs, Sunstar proceeds to lose the 2 in his forearms during a battle on Earth soon after re-arriving. They get shattered in the heat of the battle, and a decent chunk of Arc 2 is spent hunting down the shards before Duo can arrive.
What emotions cause an increase in heat?
Emotions like anger, fear, sadness, or any combination of those that can leave him feeling overwhelmed. Again, Sunstar’s emotions are more muted than regular NE-Navis, given he has two NECs. That means whatever he’s feeling has to be pretty intense for it to affect him so deeply, but he is most prone to anger out of any other ‘provocative’ emotion.
Also! He kind of hates how his hands can be a “tell” for him. He may have a stoic persona, but there’s only so much you can hide behind an empty stare, or later, a mask, without your furiously flaming hands giving you away.
Has he burned someone accidentally?
Grabbing and shaking you. I love your brain. He absolutely has.
It doesn’t happen often anymore, not like when he was first created, but my god does it devastate him when it does. He knows what happens when he touches things: they burn. He can’t help but ask himself, why does he still slip up? He knows his loved ones know it is never out of malice, that it’s an accident, that they forgive him, but he finds it hard to forgive himself.
It’s safe to say Sunstar has accidentally burned nearly all of the Stardroids at least once. For specific people, though?
Uranus: weirdly enough he wants to fight Sunstar hand-to-hand. Close combat is his forte, and he wants to prove he’s strong enough to push through and kind of foe–or pain.
Mercury: he is absolutely enough of an annoying bastard for Sunstar to chase him down on several occasions until he either hands over whatever he has stolen from another Stardroid, apologizes to whoever he pissed off, or mans his station.
Terra: multiple times back on Viren Earth. A few scenarios:
Sunstar grabbing Terra by the shoulders to protect him from falling debris
Sunstar accidentally burned Terra when the latter passed him something by hand.
Without thinking, Sunstar tried holding Terra’s hand during a wholesome moment for both.
Minx: (so far) twice.
Minx tried holding his hand, thoughtlessly.
Sunstar grabbed and pulled Minx by the arm to prevent her from wandering into oncoming traffic at night.
He always apologizes profusely, but has a bad habit of isolating himself for hours and sometimes days afterwards.
He was apologizing for months afterwards.
#tw: burns#tw: blood#tw: injury#Ra Moon wasn’t really “registered” as any specific type of navi#but he did prefer fire-based attacks/chips.#The crystal discovered later in his body classified him as a Darkloid#but he was not a traditional one#I’ll also post some follow-up art after this post#The Stardroids have to learn English/Japanese at one point#by the way#They can download language packs from the NET. sure. but actually understanding things like slang and common sayings is way harder when you#This actually makes for some occasional funny shenanigans#Especially when Minx learns Viren later in Arc 3.#Terra: Why is Minx describing animals falling from the sky?#Sunstar: She is saying it is raining.#Sunstar also dislikes speaking in Viren.#I have literally never drawn napalmman.exe before this post and that should be a crime#dont think i'm forgetting anything in the tags but will update if I notice something#my art#ask#BRAU#brainrotau#megaman#stardroids#mmbnau#doodle#sketch#mega man battle network#minx#sunstar.exe

hello again! I hope you’re doing well, I have a question I hope you could answer about the stardroids. Will they ever get out of their imprisonment and if they were to hypothetically is it possible for Ra Moon to corrupt or control one of them? If so would they keep their appearances or become more monsterous in appearance? I hope you’re having a good rest of your day/night!
Hello! Thanks for the question! It would probably be spoilery to confirm or deny what's coming up, so I will just leave it as anything's possible and anything's possible. :D But in keeping with the the precedent set, any robot who gets corrupted/possessed by evil energy has potential to become monstrous/alien in appearance (though depending how control of their powers they are/how alien they already are, they also can control their appearance like Curator did) Hope you're having a good rest of your day/night too!

I love that there’s a bunch of scattered evidence in the mega man classic series that suggests that there was some great robot space war in ancient times that may possibly still being going on but we don’t have any confirmation on its existence let alone what went down and probably never will

I have a strange feeling where the people who simp for the Stardroids don’t have a “I can fix him” mentality but instead a “I can fuck/romance him”
Me too, honestly. But thats the monster fucker inside me talking.
There really isn't much you can "fix". The Stardroids weren't made for those types of arcs, Capcom needed someone else then Dr. Wily for a change-other irredeemable villains.
I don't see the Stardroids ever getting "fixed" for their nefarious behavior, definitely not out of ambition, just like how Dr. Wily won't stop taking over the Earth.
Unless they dive under very heavy reprogramming and reconstruction, but thats a whole other can of worms.
A 20,000-year-old genocidal, serial-murdering supercomputer created the Stardroids and whatever the fuck Sunstar is (Though Sunstar's background is more mysterious, far vaguer compared to the others.) in the Archie comics. Ra Moon is never one for sentiments or emotional reform, emotions of all moral variety and capability are out the window, befitting for an evil computer hell-bent on ruling whatever the fuck it wants.
Ra Moon literally introduced humanity to violence, gave the tools to kill each other with. Though Ra Moon's Stardroids obviously were programmed with emotions and thought-as you need to correctly and orderly command on army-and you could argue that they can/do love (I headcanon that myself), that doesn't change the fact they literally conquer worlds and kill entire races to strife themselves further and further.
As for Ariga's version...
We can't say for sure exactly who or what created the Destroyers in that timeline, since it wasn't directly said, nor do we really see any. But we can assume that the alien race that did was around the same mentality as Ra Moon, just by the Stardroids by themselves and what they revealed to Megaman. Even before the whole 'energy crystal' and The White Giant situation.
Lot to unpacks in that lore, you can tell there was obviously more planned than what we got in the Ariga manga. Sadly, Ariga wasn't allowed more time to expand on that subject. Such a disappointment.

Mega Man idea. Ra Moon, Stardroids and Star Marshals new lore.
All these machines came from a long dead planet, where their creator are responsible for it’s fate and their own demise. The machines were in 3 separate groups, Stardriods were the humanoid robots made for war, the Lunar Ai were created for internet information handling, while the Star Marshals were the police humanoid robots. There was much animosity between both Ai and Stardriods, especially between Ra Moon and Sunstar, rulers of the former and latter races respectively. Luckily, the Star Marshals kept the order and made sure the arguments never escalated further. Eventually, a decision is made to leave their old home to find a more suitable place, they soon discovered Earth as their new planet.

Moon Cadet!
The daughter of Ra Moon, a wonderful robot woman, responsible for observing the Earth, she found the place wonderful, beautiful but not very peaceful...
until one day, she was responsible for taking care of the Stardroids, robots that she managed to make a great relationship between children and mother, even if her "children" had lost, she didn't care, the only thing she wanted was to live well with her children... and your "husband" Sunstar, even if he "died"... but thankfully they didn't die.... in my AU. 😉

With your children and Husband (and maybe the Shadow Man...):
Calm, Responsible, Loving, Careful, Knowing, Confident
🌔🌓🌒🌑
With other people ...(like people or Robots that killed your mother and Wily)
Ignorant, Responsible, Vindictive, Serious, Confident, Angry
🌔🌗🌖🌕
With your mother...
Calm, loving, innocent...

She already tried to adopt Megaman
She already tried to kill Wily
His power was an inspiration for Terra's power. (In my AU)
She and her children survived the Sunstar explosion, but they themselves don't know how.
She and her children live peacefully in Lanfront Ruins.
She and her children and her Husband are in more humanoid clothing and live like people who live in the countryside.

Drew this a long time ago, wanted to wait 'till I completed the rest of the 9th lines, but I might as well post it now. This is just a small idea where Ra Moon cloned the good bots into these "Alt" versions of each one of them that also have vital side effects to humans.
To go into more depth, in my interpretation, Ra Moon is still a prominent villain in the Megaman verse, just not as noticeable and let's Wily have his own fun while the Stardroids are up in space plotting more ideas to rule/destroy Earth.
In this case, Sunstar has an idea (given by Ra Moon) to just plague Earth through a more internal approach that would effect humans more. They make these capsules and with these capsules, Ra Moon imbues the data of already-existing Robot Masters into them, mixed with his own DNA Data, and births these clones of Dr. Light's creations.
There are big obvious difference, that being their designs, as some aspects of what made the physique of their original counterparts look more "corrupted". Each of these twisted figures not only possess their exact powers, but their own ability to mess with human perceptions.
Each of them have different side effects to humans such as: Hallucinations, fatigue, confusion, blindness, hypnosis. "Red" Tornado will cause heavy breathing, high blood pressure, blindness, irritability and even death.
(If this actually gets a decent amount of attention, I might drawing the upcoming 9th liner, you'll see who ; 3)

What are you thoughts on the Archie megaman comics?
Honestly? So fucking PISSED at Archie for their bs corporate tactics.
They weren't perfect but they were good comics and fun to read. I liked the characterization and specially how they added Ra Moon!
I was looking forward to the stardroids showing up 😭 and Archie had to go "NO WE WANNA MAKE A DUMB SHOW AND WASTE ALL OUR MONEY"
Seriously would love if IDW picked up Megaman like they did Sonic...
#I have ariga's rockman mangas and what i could grab of the archie comics#Udon was also suppose to put out a MMX manga ariga did and that was YEARS AGO#WHERE IS THE PREORDER UDON#also i swear everytime i turn around some live action show/remake#is ruining something important to me#fuckin villain origin story at this rate

I agree with the last anon! Love any and all Dione content, she's adorable!! Really curious about that lore you mentioned, too
glad to hear!! there already has been some tidbits of it posted here such as this and that— and also kind of want to elaborate on my personal interpretations and additional ideas of ‘moons’
the lore i mentioned i want to end up visualizing stuff from much earlier in the past, to the events of MMV, and then after, and I have some key things that i already have jotted down so i’ll just drop in what i have so far. (not the best grammar since they’re notes i put down)
Moons/STN
In line with the titles, these are artificial beings in the same species category as Stardroids, entities also created by the supercomputer Ra Moon. They are specified and sorted to a corresponding commander equivalent to the planets of the solar systems and their moons– they are of a lower rank than the typical Stardroid. However, they are not Kuiperdroids either, as they are distinct in their builds and not often produced in mass. Their abilities also correspond to the schematics of their commanders, boosting their specialties to make for more effective combat. Moons don’t have the same authoritative power as their commanders, so they work with Kuiperdroids also.
Moons while not as often as a Kuiper, remain more expendable than a Stardroid, and they don’t get replaced as often, mostly because they end up lasting a bit longer. Some might just end up as materials to be connected to another.
In the Case of Dione
TW: Implied Suicide Ideation
Dione is one of many Saturn’s moons made also by RM after taking the reins over their initial creators, though a huge error and anomaly with her concerns her general structure and lack of a special ability, etc. It was unknown on how RM, a self-proclaimed perfect being ended up messing up for just specifically this creation — labeling her as a defect.
Since this was in the more earlier stages of developing their units they couldn’t be bothered to dispose of her right away nor command another to destroy her. The only thing that managed to keep her around was her skill of support/repairs. She could act as walking extra energy source to help replenish an ally, added with the fact that she made efficient repairs and maintenance.
Other than that, she had nothing to defend herself with. It was anticipated by RM (and maybe other stardroids) that she’d eventually crumble on her own at some point and there’d be no significant change after. Not only did all of this start a subtle downfall of her self worth it also grew a rather strong desire to be useful and a fear of severe disapproval from their superiors. She is especially dedicated and grateful to Saturn, however, for seeing her uses.
Anytime there was damage done to her, a crack, etc, she’d repair herself. In the process, over time, she drastically modified herself to fit her purposes (and maybe personal preferences) but somehow, never could be able to ‘fix’ her obvious errors.
As time passed on with countless battles of conquest, it also came as an expense for the other moons of Saturn and plenty of other units. Years of seeing her own perish before her very eyes or brought back as scrap, Dione’s mental state only worsened from the fact that her, a weak link barely holding on to life, was outliving so many others who were optimally able to do what she couldn’t— and that even included a sibling that she was close to.
Not wanting to be weakened or deemed an obstacle for her strange tendency to sympathize, Dione shut off most of her emotions. The desire to be useful and help her subordinates and superiors remained (especially for Saturn, who also suffered greatly from the many losses of his moons and grew desensitized), but she grew no longer concerned of an inevitable demise whether done by her own kind or through many battles to come.
She waited and even actively anticipated for her end to come sooner— but somehow, it never happened. And all she could do from then on was continuing what she did best, repairing, providing.

I love the stakes of the Ra-Moon/Super Adventure Rockman arc, they're so much bigger than the others we've had so far. Wily always threatened world domination, but it always felt he had some restraint. It was more out of pettiness rather, than full-on malice to the world.
This is different. Ra-Moon is here to kill humanity, creating a worldwide blackout that takes out all its technology. Planes are falling out of the sky, ships are left stranded at sea, hospitals are out of commission, and Roll is on the verge of death. The stakes are bigger than Wily's ego, that even he and his forces work together against this common threat.
The fight with Ra-Moon itself is a fucking gauntlet. 1 and a half issues are dedicated just to fighting Ra-Moon. Ra-Thor takes all of Rock's weapons and just gets a single dent on the thing. And there is still a whole Devil Monster and 5 more Robot Masters to deal with after that. Rock has to sacrifice himself just to kill the damn thing. And it turns out there are bigger threats than Ra-Moon out there!?
Mega Man's world is highly advanced, but Ra-Moon put into perspective on, that they're pre-historic compared to anything Space has in store. It made me wayyyy more excited for the Stardroids/Mega Man 5 Gba adaption than I thought I would be.

More on Sunstar-
Fun trivia! Also answers a question from the last ask.
My friend compared Sunstar to Captain Holt from Brooklyn 99 and proceeded to send me several clips of him which cracked me UP. But basically, Sunstar’s characteristics:
Stoic
Does not use contractions
Ex: Will say “You are making a mistake” instead of “You’re making a mistake”
Witty and petty as hell
Ex: “Rosetta. You’re looking aged.”
Ex: “Ah, you. I was wondering why all the birds stopped singing.”
Secret(?) softie
----
The Runes on Sunstar’s mask were added for me to flex the Viren language a little. Unfortunately, I couldn’t think of a solid meaning I wanted to give them that didn't sound cringe or edge-lordy. Still can’t, honestly. The most solid Idea I had was for it to read as “Sungod” in Viren, but eh. I’m probably going to change it to Ra Moon’s eye symbol, since that would make more sense as it symbolizes Sunstar himself in Viren society, and definitely be plot-relevant.
He started wearing the mask to hide his face after acquiring the 4th NEC in his body. By then, he was a husk of his former self–and the more powerful he grew, the more Virens started to view him as a monster. Adopting a mask followed his (corrupted) mentality of “Who am I to disappoint them?”
Also if you like timelapses/speedpaints, enjoy some art progress below! The mini comic took me like..13 hours? This is that condensed into 30 seconds.

I read the Mega Man Archie Comics they were amazing and very well written, I liked everyone's development. I do like that instead of going straight into MM3 they adapted Super Rockman, I enjoyed the "crossover" with X too and the little insights into the future of the original timeline. Also I think that Shadow Man and the Stardroids being connected to Ra Moon is an amazing idea, I'm glad that we got more lore on both, since they never really had an origin, other than they're from space. Anyways 10/10.
