i love stardew valley but oh my god the "it's REALISTIC that there's barely any poc because it's a small town, duh!!!! it would be unimmersive if there were more non-white people!!!" fans make me want to fucking throttle something.
i grew up in a small town in goddamn appalachia, and let me tell you, there's far more brunette women than there are red-headed ones, but you wouldn't fucking know it by looking at stardew. depending on how you read maru's hair color, it can be argued that none of the bachelorettes have brown or black hair, but you won't hear a single peep from the "omg realism!!1" folks.
there's more mystical creatures than there are people of color. there's more talking goddamn animals than there are human people who aren't white.
#do not make a mr. qi joke i s2g#stardew valley#fandom bullshit#i'm fucking hoping haunted chocolatier's better in this regard but the previews have given me very little hope :|#stardew valley doesn't even take place on earth!!

please please please share all of your ocs!!
HELLO YES I WILL??? there was one i was specifically vague posting about in the one reblog which i will NOT but i will share something funny abt him
my ex made a cardboard cut out of him, hated him so much they STABBED HIM and then mailed me the arm, and of course i still own it. ANYWAYS! pulling these from my main toyhouse (i have an ugly watermark i am so sorry) let the rambling begin (extremely long i am so sorry LMAO)
(cutely pulls up a piece of art) alright this is my cherry pop story! they are 3 cryptid / unnatural monster type hunters in a universe that is pretty much exactly like earth 1:1 except it was cats and dogs that became the main dominant species. the main character (aka just the one we see through her POV theyre all main characters to me.sniff) is Annie! she is a quiet and get it done type of character, besides working the 9 to 5 monster hunting job, she really likes games (this takes place in the 2000s btw) and is interested in how mechanical stuff works! also she is a trans icon :)
next is Peyton! shes she nerdy, figure it out type. probably the one in the group the most interested in what they're actually being paid to do; also one of the first ones to notice what is actually going on. she mainly enjoys going out and fucking around with her skateboard and shes a little sillay gal
last but not least in cherry pop is Micah! hes the brawns and usually helps with doing physical objectives, and also just catching the monsters in general if need be. first one to come to conclusions, even if they are SEVERELY wrong. he is captain of the swim team and wishes to go to a bigger college one day (they are in a small town)
OK NEXT !! AFTER PARTY they are some of my oldest ocs (not OLDEST oldest but def. there) and their story is a little all over the place since its with me and my friends and we havent gotten into it recently (its basically a masquerade type kill scenario) all their art is a little old but this is Okano! at a very young age, her father died and she was able to take over a very well off company. Well she doesn't make huge decisions by herself at the moment, she shows great opportunity in the future. she is very distrusting because of it though, and takes a while to warm up to people.
next is kaga! (one next to peyton) shes a little silly gal, shes very reckless and kind of doesn't care about danger shes in it for the thrill. absolutelu kills it being a roller blader, but also just likes walking around with no shoes on. also ! she works in a tattoo shop :)))
now realizing i have a lot of. trio characters huh. anyways! heres kiki. no ur not getting a genuine image bebcause she iisss so baby...... anyways; she is a french vlogger! she loves exploring the world and showing it to her growing number of people. also has a small AU inside of stardew valley :) shes obsessed with seagulls as well
ok realizing i have too many ocs and i dont want this to be like two million word post (30+ on my main and more not even on TH) so ill end off with my TTRPG charas :) this is Milo my druid aarakocra for DnD! on like the second session he got struck by lightining and got a god that way. When he was just a litol baby he wandered off from his home and into a forest where his brother, an elf named Leo, went up to his soon to be mentor/father figure Crechir like CAN WE PLEASE KEEP HIM PELASEEEEEE and may or may not have lied about his entire home burning to the ground later on he found a little gold dragon which when touching different objects changed colour; and was named skittle. little funny thing about skittle was everytime a gold coin was fed, he would grow just a little bit. even more later on, he was sent an ominous message about his birth home about how his mother had died and he was the next chieftan and so he had to go do some special trials in order to become one! he also went to the hell casino and since crechir gave him chips he was able to get an amulet that lets him shift between his two forms, treefolk and birdfolk
and finally, this is Ash for MOTW! she is a twin in a small town in canamerica (canada and america fused because our irl party is in both) due to being a twin, she was born with some spooky (haha her class) powers, and will send her twin Ali memes via telapathy. unfortunately being a teen with powers, she is also kind of very angsty and prone to some bursts of outrage. besides that, she has a very strong interest in wood carving, while her twin loves to hunt crytids, due to the strangeness of their town they have to deal with it every once in a while! they have a pet snake belovingly named banana (or boenana. shes a boa constrictor) and is honestly a teen that is addicated to her phone
ty for reading if you did!! i fucking LOVE MY OCS. SO MUCH. I WILL GO ON AND ON ABOUT THEM UNTIL I RUN OUT OF THEIR ACTUAL STORY
#i will eventually make a post about my splatoon ones#but theyre a mystery... for now#maybe i will also talk about different onces later#long post#worm chat#ty for the ask!

Thursday senses a bit of awkwardness happening around her all of a sudden and that makes her feel uncomfortable. It's not her place to be listening in on any of this and she doesn't know these guys, so to distract herself and keep herself busy she shifts Mae around in her arms and starts digging her phone out of her pocket. She's just barely gotten to it when Harvey begins addressing her again, though.
She looks back up to him and makes herself smile despite the awkwardness. "Oh my god, that's such a relief! That makes things so much easier! You have no idea," she says with a huge sigh to back up that relief. As she says this, she opens up her phone and access the locations map to start getting the coordinates to send her officemates. "I've never heard of Stardew Valley before. What country is that in? And- And yeah, I'd love to have a look around- Just one sec."
Quickly she copies the coordinates and texts them to the group chat to her officemates. From there, although it may take some time, they should be able to locate her. Now she's finally smiling, because now there's hope that she'll be able to get home.
As Mae is finished up with the bottle, she gently takes it from her, sets it aside, and settles her against her shoulder to see if she has any trapped air that she needs help getting out. She pats at her back and chatters softly at her a little bit and by the time that's all done Nathan is coming back.
"Oh- Okay, thank you! Honestly just knowing we're still on Earth is a huge relief, seriously, I can't even tell you, it's just- Phew! Ahaha," she laughs lightly, making a gesture of relief by swiping the back of one hand across her forehead like she's wiping off sweat. She's still sensing the awkward tension between her two temporary hosts and is trying to diffuse it by not addressing it at all. Obviously they have something they need to talk about and the best solution would be for her to get up and walk out, but, well, she can't exactly do that right now, can she? Technically she could, but that would be even more awkward, and so she settles for sitting there trying not to draw too much attention to the fact that she's trying not to draw too much attention to it.
"Yeah, it is crazy! It happens often enough but not like, every day. It seems like it happens every other week or so, and it's totally random, and it's- It's just- really inconvenient, ahaha. The worst place I've found myself, oh man, that's hard to say. I want to say the middle of some ocean, but then there was that time I was dropped off in this foggy forest that's literally called the Fog and it was full of other people being hunted by a bunch of random serial killers as all part of some game where you get sacrificed to a tentacle god or something? I don't know, I died pretty much right away, so I didn't get to learn too much about that place. So, maybe it was the middle of the ocean, you don't really get much more inconvenient than that, because it's not like you die right away, right? There's a lot of water and- and things in the water, and it's just- it's pretty much my worst fear come true. It's kind of subjective, though, you know?"
The words come spilling out of her mouth and honestly getting to tell her stories is a well welcomed distraction to this messy situation, even if it's unbelievable or even horrifying to Nathan. Whether or not he believes any of it is up to him, but the fact that it seems to take a weight off her shoulders is evident in the way her whole expression brightens. By the time Harvey beckons them upstairs she's much more relaxed and chipper, although some of that nervousness creeps back into her when they get upstairs.
She's really going to be staying here for a while, isn't she? Her and Mae. This could be a stint that lasts days, week, months... hopefully not years, but there's just no telling. With the existence of infinite dimensions and even more shards in the In Between...
It's awkward as all hell, but she goes into the room, fully aware of her surroundings and where Nathan and Harvey are, mapping out in her mind where everything is in case something goes awry. It doesn't seem like it will at this point, but one can never truly know, can they?
Suddenly she doesn't want to be alone, but she it's clear these two have things to discuss and it would be good to get Mae changed and get out her phone and catch up her officemates on what's happening. She can feel her phone buzzing in her pocket - they're probably all freaking out right now too. And if anything else, she can always go through some of the books on the shelf and keep herself entertained.
"Okay, well- Thank you for helping me. This is a huge step up from sleeping in a cave somewhere! Ahahaha. Seriously though, thank you. I, ah... Hopefully I'm not in your hair for too long. I'm gonna get in touch with my friends and catch them up on everything and- and yeah, so, thank you," she says, and waits for them to leave before shutting the door.
Well. This is awkward. That word has crossed her mind at least a dozen times by now but it really is the most fitting word for this whole situation. Sighing, she looks down at Mae, who is just staring up at her with her big blue eyes like she's the only thing worth looking at. Thursday smiles. "Well. Guess we're goin' on a little adventure here, aren't we, baby? Guess we are."
Nathan nods in response to her request for a crib. He, again, hurries along back to the kitchen, where he picks up the phone and begins to dial his good neighbour, Shane.
"Well, I'm not going to give you a lecture about co-sleeping." Harvey mumbles as he pushes his glasses back up his nose. "But yes, I'm a hundred percent certain that we can organise a crib for you."
As he goes to further discuss where she is, in hopes that it'll help her friends retrieve her. There's a sudden shift in Nathan's voice that catches his attention.
"No. No. Shane-" Nathan speaks on the phone. There's a little bit of tenseness in his voice. "Harvey and I do NOT have a child. Wh- why does everyone think that?" There's silence from Nathan for a moment as he listens to Shane talk to him. "Ha-he has?" Staring right at Harvey. "He's talked to you about wanting kids- I-"
Oh no. That's Harvey's sign to turn his attention back to Thursday and her important questions about where she is.
"Oh no. You're absolutely on earth!" He's looking right at her with a forced smile, obviously trying to avoid whatever horrified look Nathan is giving him. "You're in a little place called Stardew Valley. It's a small, country valley that is only populated by thirty-six people." Of course, Harvey knows every minute detail about the people who live in the Valley. "We'll happily take you into the town whenever you feel up to it."
Nathan hangs up from his call and makes his way back to the group, arms folded as he looks at Harvey.
"Shane said that Marnie had one for Jas when she was younger." He begins to speak. "Jas is obviously at an age where she doesn't need it anymore, so he'll bring it over soon."
"Well." Harvey speaks as he stands up from his armchair. "I-I'll go and set up the spare room. Make sure it's all nice and comfortable for our lovely guests." Harvey flashes a quick smile to Thursday before he hurries out of there, avoiding any questions from Nathan. Nathan simply sighs as he takes a seat in the same spot Harvey was just sitting. He smiles at Thursday, and hen at Mae.
"So, you're a new mum?" Nathan asks as he gets himself comfortable in his seat. "This must be so crazy for you to suddenly find yourself in a completely new place and you said it happens to you often? What's the worst place you've found yourself in?" Nathan looks to Thursday. He is still very curious about this office thing that happens to her and has so many questions to ask, but doesn't want to bombard her.
Shortly after she finishes answering, Harvey comes hurrying down the stairs with a smile, gesturing for the group to follow him up the stairs. By the time he's gone up the stairs for the second time, he's out of breath. It's so bad, in fact, that he's leaning against the wall to hold himself up. Nathan gently pats him on the shoulder as he walks past.
"This is your room." Nathan smiles as he steps to the side, allowing Thursday and Mae to enter first. On the furthest side of the room, there's an double bed with the most comfortable looking sheets and pillows presented nicely. By the bed, there's a large bookcase that's filled to the brim. On closer inspection, there are books about farming, a few thrilling sci-fi novels and medical journals. Finally, there's a large window that overlooks the farm. From here, you could see the entire farm and even the tops of the neighbours' houses as well. In the distance to the left, the town could be seen past the forest.
"We'll let you rest. Please don't hesitate to call us if you need anything." Harvey speaks, having finally caught his breath. "I'll just be downstairs, and Nathan will be out on the field. He'll keep an eye out for that crib for you."
With a warm smile and a little wave, the pair depart, leaving Thursday and Mae to settle into their new room.

Allow me to go ahead and jot down exactly how all my favs (and more!) fit together
Gravity Falls, Invader Zim, Danny Phantom, Paranorman, MCU, DCU, and Five Nights at Freddy's all happen on the same Earth.
If the Ghost Zone is pressed up against the living realm and running alongside it, then the Dreamscape is floating around them both with a thin sliver in-between. It forms parts of the barrier between realms, but you don't usually have to worry about popping into the Dreamscape while trying to get to The Realms.
A lot of DP fics mention the Ghost Zone having a Badlands or some kind of Outskirts where banished ghosts, monsters, demons, and other unsavories reside. Narinder's void is somewhere in this area, as are any of Lambert's dead cultists, but CoTL takes place on a different Earth and Narinder is too laser focused to cause problems elsewhere. Though that's not to say nobody knows about him.
The Backrooms are the Backrooms. Pretty much every place is connected to everywhere through the backrooms. Please don't willingly go to the backrooms.
Undertale and its au's also takes place on an alternate earth. Places like The Void and Anti-Void can be fallen into from other places (like the backrooms) but good luck finding anything at all.
Bendy and the Ink Machine also takes place on an alternate Earth, but the Ink World is a pocket dimension and accessible by backroom/glitch/world hop.
The Irken Armada is in a section of space a little to the left of where the Mcu/Dcu's space shenanigans go on. Alien superheroes would have a panic attack over Zim even knowing Earth exists, much less that he's here on a mission. "Justice League finds out about the Ghost King, 5,000 Words" type panic would ensue.
The Legend of Zelda exists somewhere. That's cool.
Bill Cipher is scared out of his absolute mind of The Lamb. Why? Why not.
Danny frequents Freddy's locations settling spirits and chasing down that absolute purple menace of a man. This is how he meets Dib, who often goes through abandoned Freddy's with Zim to gut their bots.
The WitchLight Carnival also exists and visits Gravity Falls every few years. Danny gets free entry for being undead royalty. (The Fae know about ghosts cause why wouldn't they) (Also Ghost King Danny because, and I cannot stress this enough, why not?)
Hollow Knight and Undertale are close enough together in the jumbled-up pile of space mush that is the multi-verse that Nightmare may or may not know who the Shade Lord is. (It's his auntie)
Don't Starve's Constant also exists in somewhere, the survivors all come from an alternate Earth. (Maybe Nightmare also knows Charlie?)
Minecraft Dimension.
A Hat in Time does NOT take place on an alternate Earth because that shit's not Earth. But it does exist and Snatcher has similar ghost problems to Danny for having Prime Living Realm Real Estate and a hundred+ little guys to worry about.
The Ride The Cyclone kids are somewhere in the ghost zone living their best life. Clockwork personally sent that rat to merk Karnak. Time Lord drama you wouldn't understand
Everyone in Stardew Valley is living their best life and doesn't know that having a local mine filled with slime monsters and undead skeletons isn't normal. It's like Gravity Fall's weirdness barrier except everyone's chill about it.
Harry Potter is on some alternate earth somewhere out there... how fun!
I will add more.
THE CYCLE
Danny Phantom(Colorful Void)-> Undertale Multiverse(Dream Twins) -> Five Nights at Freddy's (Annoying Robots) -> Invader Zim (Paranormal Obsessed Child) -> Gravity Falls (Ghosts) -> Danny Phantom

With a warm smile and a little wave, the pair depart, leaving Thursday and Mae to settle into their new room.
One thing you don't realize until you become a parent is just how much your own needs take a back seat to those of your child. There are many times when Thursday will go days without showering, or just flat out forget she's even hungry until she is literally falling over from low blood sugar because she's so focused on her daughter's needs. While she is currently showered within the last 24 hours and isn't necessarily hungry, Thursday is thirsty and doesn't realize it until Nathan brings the water, at which point that particular light bulb goes off in her head.
She gives a sheepish smile and an even more sheepish "thank you" before taking it and politely sipping at it, not wanting to appear too eager to be guzzling down water like a dehydrated horse.
She looks down at Mae, who is still busy happily drinking away at her bottle, totally oblivious of what all is going on around her. Thursday feels a rush of shame and frustration that has less to do with the situation and more to do with herself and how her condition exacerbates this situation. Her stupid body and not being able to produce enough milk. What if this happens again? What if the office had dumped her and Mae someplace like a lonely desert or an ancient peasant village where baby formula doesn't exist? What then? It adds insult to injury when she had to struggle to get pregnant to begin with.
She almost starts to cry then, but she stops herself by looking up sharply, the movement putting pressure on her eyes and stopping the tears from making their way out. She'll do that later when she's alone.
She nods quietly along with what they're saying, suddenly exhausted by all this. Now that her adrenaline high is starting to ebb, she's feeling a lot more tired and vulnerable. That's it then. The two of them are here to stay for the time being. At least this place seems nice and these two fellas seem nice. Helpful. Accommodating. Hell, she's just now realizing one of them is apparently a doctor or has some degree of medical experience and that's rather convenient, isn't it? If something happens, she and her daughter are in good hands, aren't they? Really, if this whole ordeal had to happen, it couldn't have happened in a more fortunate way.
She can't help but let out a tentative laugh when Harvey reappears with the chicken plush for Mae. Of course, it never occurs to her that it could be strange that these two guys have baby stuff just lying around here. She's just met them. How would she know whether or not they have their own kids or if they babysit or have nieces or nephews or what have you?
"Oh, okay. I mean, I know I'm not supposed to, but I usually co-sleep with her, but a crib would be nice, if it's- if it's not too much trouble," she says, although she isn't sure she'll actually be using it. She feels like she won't be putting Mae down at any point for any reason, although logically she knows she'll have to, especially if they're to be staying here for the foreseeable future.
"Where is this place? I mean- Is this Earth? The planet we're on? I don't mean that as a silly question, sorry if that sounds weird, it's just- it makes a huge difference, whether or not I'm on Earth right now," Thursday asks, and although she has her doubts, in her mind she has her fingers crossed. If she's on Earth, all she has to do is take out her phone and get the coordinates to her location and forward them to her officemates - then, although it may take a while, they will have to search for the dimension that contains the Earth she's on, but at least they'll have a start.
If she's not on Earth, though...
"If, ah... If we aren't on Earth right now, uh... Well. Um. I might be needing to build my own house here, let's just put it that way."
