Btw if anyones wondering why i dont make a sideblog for x hyperfixation/si...first off my blog my rules (and i mean the si id probably My Brand tm by now), but second off... its usually because i did but i got no attention paid to it or the content i made on it. Some fandoms only care about specific content im not interested in or dont produce, some fandoms dont follow back much, some fandoms dont rb basically anything thats not from a bnf...etc. etc. some fandoms are just that way ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Closeknit fandoms will follow you and rb your content; bigger or less communal fandoms where theres a lot of discourse or that are into only specific content (like a ship im not much into or art i dont have the style or skill to produce) dont

Like chances are i already write fanfiction no one reads and make art and memes no one rbs, im not gonna do that and ALSO try to run my 50th side blog that zero people follow or rb from where people pay even less attention to content i make

Yes this is bitter and a bit unfair at that but it feels like something people dont give any consideration. Fandom isnt just about content, its about interaction with other people too

#yes this a callout post for the goril.az fandom specifcally lmfao #ive never been stonewalled that hard in a fandom in all my life #meanwhile the lazytown fandom was really really cool #people were very friendly and welcomed me into the fandom immediately #they invited me to do stuff with them and even read and responded to my posts #star wa.rs fandoms been a real pain but thats mostly bc of all the recent discourse #and bc the ships i ship are frowned upon and frankly i mostly care about droid content #trek fandom is wonderful #powerful lmfao #its got a lot of that history tho and a lot of fans hang out on sites that arent tumblr #and the age range really varies #transformers fandom has been good from the begining #tho tbf ive been here for over a decade so i feel really comfortable in it #the discourse sucked but luckily it was only with one specific crowd of the mtmte series; theres plenty more series to choose from #and plenty more groups #mini fandoms surrounding ships or characters or media or versions of media everyone is mean to and hates are the nicest ones #theyre always happy to have more friends #stranger th.ings fandom - annoying #st billy stans; the 5 ppl who stan kali and her crew; monsterfuckers - cool and fun to be around #madcap rants #fandom
