Laser Surgery for Piles
Piles or haemorrhoids are swollen blood vessels near the anal area. In the initial stage, the best treatment for piles is medicines. At healing hands clinic, MCDPA regimen is used for bavasir or piles treatment. MCDPA is an acronym for Medicines (Herbal), Constac (Ayurvedic Powder), Diet, Physiotherapy and Ayurvedic oil therapy. When the disease progresses to grade 2 or 3 or 4, something more is required to permanently cure the piles. Laser surgery is the solution to cure piles. Treating anorectal conditions like piles, fistula, fissure, constipation using laser has become easier as compared to past.
Laser Treatment depending upon the Grade of Piles
Depending upon the severity of piles, it can be divided into four grades: Grade 1, Grade 2, Grade 3, and Grade 4.
Grade 1: It is usually treated through MCDPA. In this stage there is normal bleeding or itching to the person.
Grade 2: In this stage, the mass of the haemorrhoid comes out during bowel movement but goes back on completion of the act. In the early stages of Grade 2 piles, MCDPA is suggested by doctor but if the problem persists for long period of time then LHP (Laser Haemorrhoidoplasty) will be recommended by doctor.
Grade 3: In this stage, mass doesn’t go back by on its own, it has to manually pushed back with hand after a bowel movement. In the early stages of grade 3 piles LHP is done, otherwise MIPH (Minimally Invasive Procedure for Haemorrhoids) or STAPLER Surgery is required to treat the haemorrhoids.
Grade 4: In this stage, haemorrhoids protrude though anus all the time and never goes back even by manually pushing. For this, MIPH or Stapler surgery is recommended.
Benefits of Laser Surgery
Laser Haemorrhoidoplasty has no cuts, no stitches.
Postoperative pain is negligible as compared to other procedures.
Same day discharge from the hospital.
Healing or recovery is very fast.
There is no urgency (feeling of going to the toilet) after the procedure.
One can return to normal life activities after the 3rd day of surgery.
How does Laser Haemorrhoidoplasty Works?
There are no cuts or incisions made during the procedure. Fiber is inserted through the natural anal opening and laser energy is applied to the haemorrhoidal mass. No foreign material is left inside the body following the procedure.
Dr. Ashwin Porwal, founder surgeon of Healing Hands Clinic has received hands-on training from Dr. Antonio Longo who invented MIPH (Stapler Surgery) for piles. Till date, more than 50,000 patients have been cured using medication and advanced laser techniques at Healing Hands Clinic (HHC). HHC is a certified center of excellence for providing piles treatment in India, having centers at Pune, Baner, Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, Chakan, Chinchwad, Nashik, and Bengaluru.
