Corbeau's brushstrokes were so gentle compared to how she often brushed her own hair. She didn't know what to expect when Corbeau offered to take care of her hair, but it brought a blissful smile to form at how magically Corbeau handled her hair. Though she did try to take as good care with her hair as possible, she had a really nasty habit of being very rough when brushing her hair. Untangling knots could be a problem ever since she stopped braiding it, though she did sometimes ponder about braiding it again from time to time. She never followed through with those fantasies.

Even if she didn't have any pesky knots, she still dealt more blows to her hair during moments of anger at herself. No one would notice such a thing, after all. No matter how much she complained about her hair, she could never bring herself to cut it. Not even when a witch had grabbed at her long locks to fling her across the labyrinth, something that was still humiliating to remember. Her scalp hurt for days afterwards, just like the rest of her body. What's worse was how horrible she felt about herself since everyone else had to watch after her, almost as if she was a clumsy toddler.

That particular moment was in the earlier days when she didn't know how to fight because her wish only gave her a shield to work with, not a weapon. Nothing offensive to use against her opponents. She never imagined that someone so important in history would form a contract with Kyubey. How many others descended into witches? Death is a more fitting way to die, not to become monsters. She knew she would never be able to last long in any other time without guns and bombs.
