Totally out of left field idea I just thought of after seeing your adaptation of "Bring me Thanos", but Goku should DEFINITELY have some rage issues as apart of his character.

Lemme explain

I know that this would make him closer to Vegeta, but I'm saying to give Goku a rage issue in the now to juxtapose Vegeta's drastic character change. I'm not saying to make Goku into The Hulk or anything. Just make him make more actions based on emotion while Vegeta is based on pragmatism. Just, specifically in Super, Goku's biggest flaws is that he's an idiot. When, honestly, he wasn't exactly like that in classic DB. Goku had his fair share of emotional fits like when Krillin died, and when Krillin died, and when Vegeta went Majinn, and that's just some off of the top of my head.

It's been implied that all of Goku's past transformations (besides SSG, but Toriyama/Toyotaro have basically swept it under the rug) have been reliant on rage. When Goku was training Gohan in the chamber, he told him to rely on his rage. (for Gohan at the very least) SSJ2's biggest flaw is the rage boost and the irrationality that comes with that rage. Making Goku an inherently more emotional person would make MUI that much better of a transformation.

The more I'm writing this, the more I'm realizing that Goku's always had the flaw of making decisions purely on emotion (fighting Piccolo Jr. under tournament rules, letting Vegeta go, threatening Shin, etc) and they just about dropped it in DBS. So here's a whole new rant on how I'd tweak that!

-Keep the Battle of God's movie the same. That's not really a Goku story as it is an introducing Beerus and Whis story (I'm not acknowledging the anime's version, give animators more time to work and I'll think about it)

-If you absolutely HAVE to have Goku kill Frieza and not Vegeta, have Goku finally take a break from fighting Frieza and look around and see a very dead Piccolo and a very close to death Gohan and have him snap there. I want the beginning of the fight to still be fun, because I'm basing this off the movie and they wanted this to be fun. But once Goku sees all the bodies on the floor and he realizes that he's been essentially playing, he gets serious

-I wouldn't change much about the U6 tournament arc. Maybe have Goku keep SSBK on for too long so he's out of commission for the rest of the tournament and when Chi-Chi goes "dude what the heck" Goku says "I was having fun". Not ALL of his emotional moments have to be bad ones

-Lots more rage fits in the Goku Black arc. Just seeing somebody cheating their way into strength, and on top of that having it be HIS body that kills his oldest friends and family, just more general rage fits. Like specifically in the anime's case, when Goku fights Goku Black in the present, he's not in SSJ, he's in SSB and he's trying to kill

-Not much I'd change in the T.O.P., maybe make Goku's passion for fighting the reason why he's suck in UI Omen. Whis could be looking at him versus Kefla and go "he's having too much fun" and Beerus goes "So you see it too?" and they wouldn't explain it but it would be implied that's what they meant.

-Wouldn't change anything about DBS Broly. That was Broly's movie. And Goku's just phenominal in this. I'm noticing more and more that Goku tends to function best as a secondary character

-Wouldn't change anything related to Goku in the Moro arc. The Moro Arc is one of the best arcs in DBS and in my opinion is the best arc we've had in Dragon Ball since the Cell Saga.

-I haven't thoroughly read through the Granolah arc yet. I dropped it after all the Bardock nonsense. But don't give Goku a UI-Saiyan hybrid form. That seems smart on paper, but that form literally spits in the face of this entire post. So take that away. And while we're at it I know I'm only changing Goku stuff here but take away the Bardock centered chapters. They're borderline filler in my eyes. Bardock is like Ahsoka Tano. He's at his best when he's in background material or just barely referenced in main canon

Not defending Toyotara but despite having the same characters, the anime & manga obviously aren't the exact same. Its not that Kale is stronger than her anime counterpart but that Aniraza is only threatening cause of his size and not power.

Also in the anime tired SS Goku could handle SS Kale & Caulifla. Then Kefla could handle SSBK Goku because he was tiredplus it was his plan to push himself to tap into UI. Could Kefla handle SSB Goku if he wasn't tired? I don't think so. She's definitely around SSG power tho. Then Gohan could keep up w/ SSB Goku (not tired nor going all out) then loses completely to SSBK.

Though the manga is diff. I'd say Kefla is stronger than Buu saga Vegito but so is Gohan especially since he's been training. I can see them being around the same strength. If Kefla is somewhat stronger, Gohan's knowledge and skills can put him on par with her.

But besides a few cool ideas, Toyotaro keeps disappointing a lot of us.

so, get this. According to leaks, Gohan in the DBS manga IS somehow on par with Kefla, and the two double eliminate each other... can't wait to see all the people who complain about the anime's power scaling jump through hoops to justify how this asspull in completely justified and deserved, and we should all be grateful for it for giving Gohan his dignity back...

Suddenly the bonus material that didn’t count with 17 and the Cell Juniors will count toward how Gohan got this strong.Even though its an even more ridiculous leap than what he got in the anime.And it’s gonna be accepted because this’ll somehow be “more respectful” than all the stuff he did in the anime.It’s hypocritical, but I’ve come to expect that from Toyotaro stans at this point.
