also little random story time ig: i was at a comic con this weekend and there were so many x-men cosplayers - i lost it, it made me so happy and they were all so nice and ahhh my heart just sang so much in these moments (even one group who dressed as the training arc version from first class with custom made hoodies with their mutant names on it and such XDDD so funny XD) (also i may have bought a comic just bc there was magneto on the cover and bc house of m was unfortunately already sold out when i decided to get it, and the comic is so absolutely silly and insane i am screaming (it's from 1993 i think :O))

Hermione is a terrible friend to Ron

Hi Viv (I hope you don’t mind that nickname, sry). As you, I am a big fan of Ron, but not Ronmione (especially not Hermione). Even though the slowburn is amazing and they have great chemistry, I think Ron deserved much more. But anyway, I’ll start my point with the plot, cause you can see plain author favoritism (especially after book 3, probably because JKR did it out of spite cause a small portion of fandom liked her bushy hair character then; she was annoying and boring (look at the moments in PS before they became friends and how Harry sees her, and in CS where she didn’t had time to have much positive moments cause either she was fawning over Lockhart or being a stone, or POA)) towards Hermione (she doesn’t get an arc or any development, she is just a teen who reads and studies a lot, which is used to get some deus-ex-machina scenes to get the trio out of trouble). I think it’s sad, cause she would have felt much more human to me, if she had AT LEAST ONE moment where she had to make amends and grow (if you think about the Firebolt and Scabbers, she apologized but she stills stay the same until the end) and not to bring it all down on Ron who constantly grows and never ceases to amaze us. Hermione was always nudged by the plot to portray her menacing/vindictive actions in a positive light, even her traits too (The hat considering Ravenclaw and not Slytherin is an example of that). The plot wants to keep the trio together, but it’s much more favorable towards Hermione than it is towards Ron when it comes to fights. When she does something wrong in plain view she just cries.

Anyways I am going away from the point, so lets begin from the start. I think Hermione is a really bad friend to Ron, and that she should be feeling lucky that he considered remaining friends with them after she took some stuff to far. Still that makes Ron even a more amazing person, to rise above her faults( and his) and remain there for her, being the best that he can be. Most of the incidents between them (the only exception I can think of now is the Yule Ball) were Hermione’s fault. Hypothetically “you” in the following sentences is Ron. Imagine your best friend’s pet “killing” your own, even after the thousand times you told her to keep her pet away from yours, and still having audacity to not apologize (even that nudge from plot by Hagrid who said that they should consider their friends more than brooms and pets is a terrible way to nudge like Ron (and Harry with the Firebolt) are wrong to be mad with Hermione. LIKE WHAT THE FUCK.). Imagine being hexed by your best friend,  because she drew you into the arms of another girl, just because she doesn’t think that you have that amazing Quidditch skills and that Harry used Felix Felicis to cheat (even though some credit goes to Ginny for telling him that Hermione snogged Krum). Imagine your best friend not thinking it’s possible for you to get a prefect badge (and hell even by the plot it’s nudged to be Harry’s title, but DUMBledore didn’t want to overwhelm Harry with more responsibilities). “Ron needs to grow up in order to deserve Hermione” my ass. As a character, he already outshined her. I would have liked for the scenario after the canaries to be a Hermione’s arc where she needed to realize that she is not that great friend towards Ron and that if she doesn’t start acting up better, she would lose him to someone other (but itsy pretty bushy haired JKR self-interest can’t have a character arc, can she).

In the end, I get that they are teens and everything, and teens don’t know how to deal with emotions sometimes, but still the fanon conception of Hermione is laughable.

I first started writing this post thinking that even ‘Ron is a better friend towards Harry than Harry is to him’ but I can’t remember other than DH moment where they had that big fight (I can’t use that prefect moment where he laughed when Fred’s thought popped up in his mind about Ron getting a prefect badge, cause he was ashamed after). I still believe that if Ron had 'normal’ friends or just had been duo with Harry, he would have even grew into a better Ron (if that’s even possible). I would write some fanfictions, but I am a terrible writer and give up cause I have no idea how to navigate a long plot. But, who knows, maybe I will pluck up the courage and give it a go :).

First off - yes, I agree with your point that Hermione is not that good a friend to Ron; and yes, her character development is really, really, really lacking, practically nonexistent. Same goes for Harry and Ron’s friendship, Ron pulls a lot of himself into this friendship and Harry mostly takes, takes, and takes. Which becomes “fun” because then Hermione gives to Harry too (more than she gives Ron, because there’s no romantic insecurity with her friendship with Harry) and Harry… also takes, takes and takes. Harry doesn’t do much for Ron and Hermione. He just receives. You wanted an example, well how about ALL OF FIFTH YEAR when Ron was being bullied to hell and back and all Harry had to think about that was “at least he gets to play Quidditch :(”, yeah fuck you too Harry. This is why I love fanfics where Ron is at the center of an OT3-1 and gets to receive a monstertruckload of love and happiness and everything is beauty and perfection- ahem, yeah…

Honestly, it’s just… it’s just that Ron couldn’t “grow” because Hermione “needed” the spotlight more in Rowling’s mind. It’s not really Hermione’s fault, she doesn’t choose how she’s written, she’s a fictional character. It really is Rowling’s bias fucking things up and making her out to be some superheroine… and, of course, if you just breeze past it without thinking twice on it you’re just going to think “oh Hermione did that ok” instead of “wait now Hermione did WHAT”.

It’s kinda fun, really, because I just… I like Romione for the sake of nostalgia it feels. I do like their tender moments, rare as they are, since Rowling likes STUPID POINTLESS DRAMA better. But I still like Romione… I guess, I’m just too attached. I’m planning on writing some more Romione fics, but I already have other projects to finish first. Honestly, do it, take the plunge, write some Ron-centric fiction. It doesn’t have to be a super long one with a hyper complex plot, one-shots and drabbles are a thing. The only way to get better at writing is by writing, so just try!

hm, trying to have better routines (like sleeping and eating and drinking more water), be more focused on my thesis work (so that i can move on with my life) and also trying to draw more consistently because it really makes me happy.  

5. four fandoms that have piqued your interest?

I don’t think I am a fan of anything else other than exo and even to them I am a lousy fan type of person. I just love what I love and that is that I guess.

6. how has the pandemic been treating you?

so-so? I was on a hard journey already and when it came it certainly didn’t help me. quite on the contrary, I felt like I regressed so much in my mental state, my motivation and concentration dropped and I developed a certain level of anxiety I wasn’t used to. but I feel like I had to go through these hardships to grow and learn more about myself. I’m slowly (very slowly!) getting back on horse and in control of my life. hopefully I'll continue to grow and steadily increase stability in my emotional/mental side. I hope it gets easier to find some happy too. 

7. a song you can’t stop listening to right now?

last week I was working on my gluttony art and I listened to it a lot. today I listened to ending by yeule around 4 times? i'm not one to listen to the same music on loop all day, rather listen to it everyday instead. but sometimes some songs get to me and I can’t let them go right a way.

8. recommend a movie?

somehow I've been thinking of Little Forest: Summer/Autumn and Little Forest: Winter/Spring a lot lately. It’s a 2014 japanese adaptation of a manga and it is so wholesome. I definitely recommend  for some peaceful time.

I got an email last weekend of a friend I first met in Transylvania 7 years ago. The total amount of time physically shared between us in the same space was around 6 weeks. We randomly met twice in the same year in our lives. 7 years without talking to each other or even following each other on social media. And he wrote me the most amazing letter last weekend. It’s really cool to know that the people who touch you deeply sometimes were touched back just as much. 

13. are you shy?

I don’t think so? i open better in one on one relationships though. in group settings it depends:

. if I'm surrounded by people I don’t know at all, I'm friendly and quiet but I approach people first or show that I am open to be talked to and try to mingle and meet new people.  . if I'm surrounded by my group of friends and they bring someone I don’t know to the group, I try to be kind and make them feel welcomed but I'm more quiet and observant. . if I'm surrounded by people I feel safe with, I'm just me: happy and silly if happy or quiet and observant if I need a little more energy to interact. . if there are people that I don’t feel comfortable with around me, my energy tends to drop significantly and I hide more. (pro at blending with the wall ^^)

but amongst all the scenarios I always tend to have my moments of solitude, being inside my own head, lost in thought, daydreams, etc. so if I'm suddenly quiet I'm probably noticing how you touch your ear lobe when you get nervous, or how your left eye has a little dot, or how the clouds look like bunnies right now, or how the light makes my cats hair shine in warm gold tones... you get it xD

oh idk, almost all of the ‘deres’ have their charm. but I think I relate more to dandere? i think i’m just a dandere (silent type) trying to be a kuudere (cool type) but ending up like bakadere (clumsy type) xD

since once upon a time it was already an 8 (saving the 9 and 10 for a the possibility of being better) I'd say right now it is a 5/6.

I'm very demanding with myself. I don’t judge others easily. I used to wear my heart out on my sleeve but life happens and now i hide it a lot more. once I love you, I love you forever. but I will still need time alone once in a while, so i tend to disappear sometimes.

Summary:   When Sofia had been sick, Raihan was there for her. Now that he's under the weather, she's determined to look out for him.Except...why does he keep saying he loves her? Is he really that out of it? Or is there something more to his words?

Notes: This fic was commissioned by Brew and is posted with permission!   Sofia is her OC and she has a WONDERFUL backstory and the most gorgeous design ever (Brew is an amazing artist!) and I ship her with Raihan so hard! This story can be read as pretty much a one-shot in itself even if you don't know Sofia though (but you should go check out her character because she's amazing). Also, this is meant to be a follow-up to a fic where Sofia is the one under the weather, and Raihan takes care of her. That fic is written by Usabuns and can be found here!

With her health significantly restored, Sofia was unable to deny that she was excited about meeting Raihan at Yoshida Cafe.  Try as she might to convince herself that their mutual plans weren’t anything special, she couldn’t help but wonder if it was going to be something a little…more.  More than just their usual meetup, and more than just an opportunity to go through battle strategies together.  She’d been a little out of it while she’d been sick, sure, but she felt, nonetheless, that there was something inexplicably different about things between her and Raihan.  It was hard to put her finger on, though, and it nagged in the back of her mind all day while she went about her work duties at the Daycare.

Was it the fact that he’d carried her to her bed?  Was it the way he’d been so kind and concerned for her?

No, Sofia thought, frowning to herself.  Raihan was a good man and a good friend; his kindness hadn’t been anything out of the norm.  Maybe she could just chalk it up to her imagination being a bit overactive.

Or maybe it was the way he’d said he’d stay the night if she asked, and the way she got a chill up her spine at the thought.  Or the way he’d asked her to meet up at the Cafe shortly after.

“Hey, Zzzofia!”  Her Rotom Phone called, breaking her out of her thoughts as it floated towards her.  “You juzzt got four new texts!”  

“Okay,” Sofia replied, not breaking from fiddling with a heat lamp that had been giving her grief all day.  She’d had to completely empty the pen this lamp usually kept temperature-controlled of all eggs and baby Pokemon, which had made it a priority to fix for the afternoon.  “Thanks for letting me know.  But I’ve only got a couple hours to finish working on this, and I need it back online before I leave tonight, so I’ll read the texts after work.”

Her Rotom Phone, ever expressive, frowned and lingered closer to her at her words.

“It’zzz important,” it said in a voice bordering on a whine.  “They’re from Raihan.  Can you read it now?  Quickly?”

Sofia’s eyebrows furrowed at this.

“Wait, do you read my texts?  Like, before I do?”

“Well -” Rotom Phone started, but Sofia reached out one hand.

“Don’t answer that,” she decided as the Rotom Phone settled on her palm.  “I don’t want to know.”  Rotom Phone wisely didn’t respond, instead switching its screen to display Raihan’s text.

Sofia set down the heat lamp entirely for a moment.  

“Ugh, I told him not to get too close to me or else he’d get sick!”  She groaned, an odd wave of frustration, guilt, and pity washing over her.  If he was faring as well as she had against this cold, well…he probably was feeling as awful as he said he was.

“He wazzz juzzt trying to help,” her Rotom Phone reminded her.

“Yeah, I know,” Sofia said, standing up and moving outside with her phone still in hand.  She didn’t want to make any calls while she was still in the Daycare itself; stepping away would make it more apparent that she was just handling some business for a moment.  “That’s why I feel so bad about it.  Can you call Raihan for me?”

“You got it!”  Rotom Phone chirped, and dialed his number.  Raihan’s phone rang once, twice, then three times, and Sofia began to worry he won’t pick up, but finally, she heard a click, then a pause, and Raihan’s groggy voice came on the phone.

“Hey, Sof,” he said, sounding every bit as sick as she had imagined he was.

“Hey, back at you,” Sofia responded, every admonishment about how she’d tried to keep him from catching her illness immediately disappearing from her mind.  “You sound awful.”

“I feel awful.  There’s not a lot that can take down the great Dragon-Tamer, Raihan, but this is definitely giving me a run for my money,” he said with a weak laugh.

“I’m so sorry you caught this from me,” Sofia groaned.

“’Sokay.  I wanted to make sure you were all right and taken care of,” Raihan responded easily.

Somehow, these simple words made Sofia’s stomach flip.

“I - I want to make sure you’re okay, too,” she said, shoving aside the nervousness she couldn’t help but feel as she said the words.  “I’m going to catch a Corviknight Taxi and swing by your place after work, okay?”

“Aw, Sofia, you don’t have to do that -”  Raihan started, but Sofia didn’t let him finish his sentence.

“Yeah, just like you didn’t have to come and get yourself sick from taking care of me,” she retorted, her mind already made up.

“What if you get sick from me?”  Raihan mumbled.  Sofia laughed out loud at this.

“I already had it,” she pointed out.  “I’m going to be fine.  All the more reason for me to be the one to make sure you’re doing okay and have everything you need.”

“You’ve made up your mind on this already, haven’t you?”

“Yes,” Sofia responded firmly.  After a moment of pause, Raihan sighed.

“You’re…you’re just the best, do you know that?  Really the greatest,” he mumbled, and though Sofia listened carefully for any sign of teasing, she didn’t hear any.

“I - well, um, thanks,” Sofia finally said.  “You’re…the greatest too.  Well, I’ve got to go hop back into work for a moment to try to get a heat lamp fixed before I leave, but try to go get some rest, okay?  I’ll be by in a couple of hours.”

“Kay,” Raihan croaked back.  “Thanks again, Sof.  Love you.”

Sofia felt certain that she’d heard wrong for a split second, but when a moment of expectant pause passed, she realized she definitely had not.

“Uh - love you too,” she said, because what else do you say to a sick and feverish person (who you may or may not be interested in) who decided to say that first?  “Bye,” she added, then took the Rotom Phone away from her ear, ending the call.

Immediately, her Roto-dex flew out of her pocket, circling around Rotom Phone in excitement.

“Did I juzzzt hear what I thought I heard?”  Roto-dex asked, its eyes wide and sparkling.

“You did,” Rotom Phone said, doing a flip in mid-air.

“He zzaid he lovezzz you, Sofia!”  Roto-dex declared, literally emitting sparks in excitement.

“He’s tired and out of it -” Sofia started, only to be cut off by Rotom Phone.

“You zzzaid it back!  We both heard you!”

“What else am I supposed to say?”  Sofia fumed, crossing her arms a little defensively.

“But you do, don’t you?  You didn’t zzzay that to him just to zzzay it, right?”  Roto-dex said, freezing in mid-air and looking at her with sad eyes.  Rotom Phone paused, too, looking at her closely.  Sofia chewed her bottom lip, realizing that the little Ghost Pokemon weren’t just teasing.

“No, I wasn’t just saying it to say it.  At least, not entirely,” she admitted, looking away.  “But…he doesn’t need to know that.  He just needs to get better.  Do you two understand?”  She asked, frowning at her devices.  After all the meddling they’d done while she had been sick, she didn’t need any more from the pair of well-meaning Pokemon.

“Cryzztal clear!”  Rotom Phone chirped.

“You got it, bozz!”  Roto-dex added.

“Good,” Sofia said, beginning to head back to the Daycare.  She could hear the familiar whir of her devices as they follow in the air behind her, but it still took her by surprise when she heard one of them say,

“Zzzofia?  We just want you to know…we really are happy for you.  It might not be anything big yet, but…it’zz something, izzn’t it?”

“Maybe,” she replied with a shrug.  “But thank you, I think.”

As she opened the door to the Daycare again, she wondered to herself when, exactly, her Rotoms became so interested in her relationship with Raihan.

these are 2 separate moments I came up with that I eventually tied together after some editing (/fantasizing about my own ideas) passes:

The most annoying part is the humiliation she feels since she had to do it as the result of her own hubris. he complains about the relentless teasing savagery of his genin students while they’re walking along the canal on their last evening of this punishment, but admits to sakura he doesn’t mind the hair so much and shares he’s often wondered what it’d be like to have his mother’s hair, and pink is similarly distinctive and beautiful and in the same color family. It’s the first comparison of one of her features to his mother’s he speaks aloud, and his heart starts racing because he momentarily forgets she doesn’t know about his mother’s words to find a girl like her. Completely unaware of his thoughts and sudden nervousness, she serenely replies, “I’m sorry she’s not here to experience how sweet her son can be to her… I wonder if she would have liked me? So he puts his hands in his pockets to stop their quivering as the scene soaks in and suddenly it’s just really hard to see her green eyes with his blonde hair. he turns to take in the sunset too, and he thinks, “she would have loved you, Sakura… we can bet on it” (originally all i’d written here was the first paragraph, and then I think my subconscious LEAPT OUT AT ME the next time I read it to provide this sunset scene -- they’re my rainbow sherbet fighting dreamers ninja family!!!)

In my headcanon world, Naruto and Sakura have five kids, two of which are adopted and three conceived. * I want to note here that I almost never go the “lots and lots of babies” route w/ my otp’s. 3 out of my top 5 do not go on to have kids in my interpretations of them. But for Naruto and Sakura it makes sense, and this is especially based in my conviction he would want to adopt and he would want a big family to experience the exact opposite of his childhood. So, yeah, 5 makes a lot of sense to me. I tend to think they are resistant to the idea of kids for a while bc of the threats to their lives, but they eventually decide they both really want to have kids after fostering two boys and it’s so hard to eventually let them go on to their adoptive parents. Sooo.. their youngest are twins; they’re named Konohana and Sakuya. And my reasoning for this, as well as for all the other names, is pretty in depth. Here: I first heard about Konohana from @yellowflasher‘s great fanfics. She has a Konohana and Kae (not twins), and I asked her once if she named Konohana after the myth, and she said she actually hadn’t seen or heard it before. It obviously stuck with me tho!! Uzumaki Konohana = from the Konohanasakuya-hime mythology. I just discovered with this name theme of using myths I coulda inadvertently referenced Kushina and Minato as well!! -- Kushina’s name could have been derived from Kushinadahime, a goddess of rice/life, and Susanoo is her husband, the god of STORMS aka Namikaze Minato. (Maybe other peeps in the fandom already knew this but I’m late to the party. Oh well! I was shocked when I learned this yesterday.) And it honors Konohagakure, and honors Sakura: ‘flower’ is part of the name. Konohana was conceived (twin to Sakuya)

Uzumaki Sakuya = from the Konohanasakuya-hime mythology. And see above for the comments about the possible Kushina/Minato connection. And it honors Sakura: it’s literally 2/3rds her name; one different ending syllable. & naruto calls her Momo-chan, and I explain why below.

After deciding all this, I came up with this moment: Naruto and Sakura love the names from the princess myth but also love they are referring to Konoha and Sakura. tho, because Sakuya can sometimes sound too similar to Sakura, confusingly so-- and as Naruto’s the only one who has to say both names in the household (y’know, because it’s either “Sakuya” or “mom” said by everyone else, the kids don’t call her Sakura) -- he often calls her “Momo-chan.” as a kid she’s not sure why but just rolls with it and then one day in her later childhood it dawns on her: orange + pink = peach (note: momo means the fruit and momo-iro means the color but I think naruto would just keep it short and simple as momo-- he’d probably argue an orange plus a cherry equals a peach anyway, somehow……... hahhh! I actually looked it up and peaches are in the same genus as cherries and apricots, and apricots are orange :P not that naruto would know this but sakura would be like me and probs research it lol). Sakura expresses concern that Konohana will feel jealous or excluded if he doesn’t give her a nickname too, and he forlornly / guiltily (at having not even thought of that) approaches Konohana with this. She’s rather young to be considering this so thoughtfully -- maybe 4 or 5 -- but her answer never changes as she grows up (though the vocabulary / phrasing she uses might mature…. But I say might, haha); “don’t change me; I love my name!! it is like our home so it means I will become hokage like daddy!! and it is like flowers like mommy’s flower so it means people are happy and have a party when i show up!!” (she’s talking about hanami) naruto immediately bursts into tears bc holy shit he just loves this kid so!! much!!! ( ᵒ̴̶̷̥́ _ᵒ̴̶̷̣̥̀ ) sakura’s doing better at keeping it together, tho not by much, lmao

Some months into the nickname of Momo-chan settling in, there’s a morning where it’s brought into question again. while sakura and naruto are folding laundry, the twins rush in from the backyard to show them something they’re excited about in their grubby cupped hands. “Look! loo~oook! polli-wolly-wogs!!” (tadpoles-- i have great affection for this term for them bc mei in the english dub of totoro calls them that, and totoro is a defining touchstone of my young childhood) naruto intones, “eeehhhh? How cool, konohana-chan!! Momo-chan! Maybe uncle Gamakichi knows ‘em, huh?” and they laugh and stick their tongues out at him, “he’s not our uncle! He’s a toad!” yet they’re making ribbiting sounds as they run off to return the tadpoles. Sakuya trips and just narrowly regains her footing at the last moment to prevent toppling herself and the tadpoles across the floor. “careful, momo-chan!” Naruto offers in a loud voice, but calmly-- he holds back his concern, as he’s learned that a lot of the time kids decide whether they should cry based on their parents’ reactions, namely whether they freak out a lot, and he’s done a lot of freaking out, and is trying something new now, pfft. He watches her right herself, check on the tadpoles in her hands, nod once firmly and give a determined “mm!” in acknowledgement of his caution, and they scamper off. 

So then Sakura asks, with some humor in her voice even tho she’s going for annoyed: “naruto, why’d we even name her sakuya if you’re just gonna keep calling her momo-chan?” “aahh, sakura-chan. She’s just little momo to her daddy. Out in the real world she’ll be called the name inspired by her mind-blowing mom.” the tinge of pink on her cheeks does not get past him and the side of his mouth starts to twitch into a smirk. He roguishly continues with, “I thought about making you the one I address with a nickname instead, but all the ones I could come up with aren’t appropriate in front of the kids” she tries to look aghast but she’s fighting her mutinous mouth starting to veer into a big smile, and to distract his gaze away from this very visible and losing battle across her face, she twists a towel and snaps it at him. They play fight until they fall onto the bed, halfway into the now half-undone laundry. They rest a little bit, soaking in the calm moment, his upper body on top of her lower body-- resting his head on her stomach and holding her around her waist. Her eyes are closed and she’s absent-mindedly running her fingers through his hair. Then he softly voices, “little peach... she’s our colors, Sakura.” and she does vividly remember the sunset he’s recalling. She answers with his words from years ago: “Yeah. our colors.”

i started with sailor moon and dragonball fanart :’D but it’s many many years ago.. xD

i mainly use youtube for tutorials but there’s one channel i watch daily.. xD it’s rocketbeans.tv ^u^ these guys had a german tv show for many years about video games. they reviewed them but in a fun way with short comedy sketches. informative and fun! :D and 1 or 2 years ago they started their own “tv channel” on youtube and twitch with many shows about games, movies, series, pen&paper, lets plays and lots of nerdy stuff :D and an awkward cooking show because almost none of these gaming nerds can cook so they just scrap off the topping of a frozen pizza and cook with that and call it a meal! and one poor judge has to eat it and decide who’s the winner..i just love it.. xD it’s probably nothing for you because, german, but these guys, especially the 4 main hosts mean a lot to me because i pretty much grew up with them when they were still on tv and now they are back and they just make me really happy..❤️ ^u^ sry for babbling so much but you asked me! xD

there's kind of a rush from starship to make mx big before they start enlisting i think :( it's kind of sad to think about. that's probably why they've been working nonstop since all in. i think starship expected them to make it big from debut (thus the rush to get a first win and taking their phones away) and mx was promised that but things didn't go as planned. at least that's the feeling i'm getting. i think the success of part 2.5 will determine if they're going to stay in japan or korea

Personally I think that some were gonna make it regardless (jooheon, shownu, kihyun) and that the others weren't finalized until later, but idk man it's still a big debate
