how did you decide the name of this new chapter?

omg ty for this question!! love any excuse to talk abt my titles djsks

originally i had 'who let the light in', bc both of them find hope & comfort exploring sasha's oasis.

but THEN summer by the carters (aka beyonce & jay-z) came on shuffle while I was writing. any bey song is sasha-coded to me, & that song is sexy, summery & abt being safe in your partner's presence--so it was perf.

jay has these lyrics in his rap that i loved abt how far he & bey have come, & how proud he is of what they've created:

In Bel-Air, only the nights get cold

I wrapped a yellow jacket 'round Bey

It's not lost on me, music has my kids sound asleep

this chap, sasha's looking back on all the women she's been, and she's also letting go of her fears, learning to trust anetra.

“Hiding who you are, being ashamed of it… it almost killed me."

“Every time I come back here now, I know little Sasha would be so proud of the woman I am.”

anetra's reflecting, too, on how lucky she is to have luxx and sasha in her life, and how maybe, it could be possible for her to be happy. truly happy.

Luxx and Sasha have found their rhythm. The two most important people in her life, getting along–she couldn’t ask for more.

Seeing Sasha... that belief is being shaken, bit by bit.

Naked under the open sky, Anetra's more alive than she ever has been, feels flayed open, warmed soft, tender, ripe like a peach in June.

hawai'i is a sort of rebirth, for both of them. and since they're both aware & reflecting on how things are getting better, slowly, this chap... you could say that the way hope has begun to worm back into their lives.... 'it's not lost on [them].'
