LORD JAGANNATH RATH YATRA IN PURI ( ODISHA )

Also known as Car Festival, this spectacular Chariot Festival is celebrated in the month of Asadha, on the second day of the lunar fortnight that falls during June-July. Popularly known as Rath Yatra, this festival is celebrated in the honor of Lord Jagannath who is believed to be an incarnation of Lord Vishnu.

The celebrated Ratha Yatra Festival is said to have started in the time of Svarochisha Manu of the second manvantara and is predicted to continue until the end of the second half of Lord Brahma's lifetime.

Even in the Valmiki Ramayana, it is mentioned that when Lord Rama was getting ready to leave this world, he told Vibhishan, Ravana's younger brother, to worship Lord Jagannatha, the Lord of the Iksvaku dynasty in His absence.

The Skanda Purana also fixes the date of the Ratha Yatra as the second day of the bright fortnight if the month of Ashadha, a day called Pushyami Nakshatra by astrological calculations.

The Padma Purana describes that in Purushottama-Kshetra, or Jagannatha Puri, the supremely blissful Personality of Godhead pretends to be made of wood. In this way, although the Lord takes on what appears to be a material form, it is completely spiritual by the causeless mercy of the Lord for the conditioned souls who cannot perceive the transcendental domain of His.

On the day of the festival, the wooden idols of Krishna, Balrama and Subhadra are taken out in procession in three chariots to their summer temple for a week.

The main chariot is 14 meters high and 10 meters square with 16 wheels. The actual construction of the carts begins two months before the festival day, on the third day of the bright fortnight of Vaisakha.

More than 600 trees, or 400 cubic meters of wood, are needed for the construction, taken from the local forests, along the banks of the Mahanadi River.

Using the same simple tools and procedures as they have for the past hundreds of years, once the basic elements are made, such as the wheels, the actual construction begins only a few weeks before the festival.

The ropes of the huge chariots are pulled by millions of devotees. In the ancient times, devotees would occasionally throw themselves in front of the chariot of Sri Jagananath, for it was believed that to be crushed to death under its sixteen wheels was to go straight to heaven.

Since Sri Jagannath is a form of Vishnu and Sri Krishna, many of the rituals observed in Puri temple are associated with events in the life of Sri Krishna. Thus, this annual Car Festival represents Sri Krishna's Journey from Gokul to Mathura.

It is said that the bridge was built by Rama's Vanar Sena. With great devotion, one stone after another was dropped into the water with the inscription 'Rama' on the rocks on the shore and miraculously, these stones also floated on the sea. It was from this bridge that Lord Ramachandra went to Ravana's Lanka and rescued Mother Sita.

Ramakrishna Paramahansa (Bengali: ‍‍রামকৃষ্ণ পরমহংস) (February 18, 1836-16 August 1886) was formerly known as Gadadhar Chattopadhyaya. Famous nineteenth-century yogis, philosophers and Hindu theologians. Swami Vivekananda, his disciple, founded the Ramakrishna Mission on his religious ideology. Their contributions to the Hindu Renaissance of the nineteenth century are incomparable.

Life-- Birth and family-- Sri Ramakrishna was born into a Brahmin family in the village of Kamarpukur in Huguli district. It was the sixth day of the year 1242, Wednesday, the second day of Shukla (February 18, 1836). His father's name is Kshudiram Chattopadhyay and his mother is Chandramani Devi.

Kshudiram was a very devout, bright, devout, truthful and virtuous Brahmin. His faith was burning. The cold goddess came in the form of a girl and helped Kshudiram to pick flowers in the morning. The goddess Chandramani was a symbol of simplicity and compassion. His former home was in the village of Dere, three miles from Kamarpukur. At the age of forty, Kshudiram was forced to leave his ancestral home with his relatives and take refuge in a small hut in Kamarpukur as a gift from a friend of the village landlord. He once went to Gayatirtha to pay homage to his ancestors. Narayan appeared to him in a dream and said, 'Kshudiram, I am satisfied with your devotion. I will be born as your son to receive your service. Kshudiram cried and said, 'I am very poor! May I serve you, Lord? 'Said the enlightened man in a loving voice, I will be satisfied with the way you serve me. ' Thus began the various divine visions and experiences of the Goddess Chandramani in her house. He felt as if a bright light had entered his womb. At the same time, Sri Ramakrishna was born. Remembering the dream, Kshudiram named the newborn Gadadhar. In the fifth year, Kshudiram enrolled Gadadhar in a village school. Reading did not go very far. Gadadhar did not understand the text in the textbook. After the death of his father in the seventh year, Gadadhar began to help his mother with household chores. He also spent a lot of time in the service of the household god. At the age of eleven, he took over the worship of the house-god Raghubir. He used to gather flowers and worship and worship. From a very young age, Sri Ramakrishna became obsessed with divinity. When he was just seven years old, one morning, Auntie grabbed her by the ankle and started eating. Seeing the steady movement of the flying bugs under the expanse of the black cloud in the sky, he fell unconscious in awe. On the way, the people saw him and brought him home. The other day, the vigilant goddess of Anudgram, near Gadadhar, was visiting the devotees of the village with the devotees of the village. At that moment, he suddenly saw a strange light inside, and he lost consciousness in the presence of the goddess. People said it was faint. Considering this to be his son's illness, Chandramani Devi treated him with many gunshots. Gadadhar, however, said that his heart was full of joy. As a child, Sri Ramakrishna was known as Gadai. He could sing beautiful songs. He also had a strong memory and a strong memory. So he could sing most of the songs once he heard the Yatra or Pala song, and he made everyone happy by performing the whole journey. Everyone in the neighborhood loved this Sadananda boy very much. All the women and men of the village were amazed to hear all these scriptures and interpretations from his melodious voice. As a child, Sri Ramakrishna did not have a high sense of humor. He used to go to the homes of the lower castes and recite the Prahladcharita, Dhrubcharita or Ramayana.
