mm yep that is basically how i felt about s2a2. the plot BEATS are good! but there's none of the inbetween and buildup to make them actually work. so they're just kind of jumping between things they wanted to get to.

i've heard that they originally wanted to make 5 seasons, but i've also heard that that wasn't true and they did want two...? either way it really, really feels like they had a longer story here that got squonched down (<- professional term). i wonder if it was limitations from the higherups/network or if they just realized that they do NOT have the budget to do more than two seasons of this quality.

one day i'll get into a show that lasts exactly as long as it's supposed to and paces itself in a reasonable manner

okay, switch 2 first reactions:

more or less exactly what we've been expecting. even ignoring the leaks, "bigger switch" is basically what everyone's been saying for ages.

honestly kinda surprised they actually went for "switch 2" as the name. sure, it's the easiest and most logical name, but... nintendo isn't always the sort of company to make easy and logical choices. i was expecting to get. like. the nintendo squonch or something.

side note, but i'm pretty sure one of the third-party hardware leaks showed that exact logo and tried to pass it off as a placeholder. which is super funny in retrospect.

thank god we're getting a better kickstand. granted, that was probably a given since it was already on the oled model, but still incredibly good to see.

magnetic joy-cons! wonder how well that's gonna work out. larger size is definitely appreciated, though.

the joy-con holder is definitely altered since the joy-cons attach from the side instead of the top now, and i wonder whether the increased joy-con size will make up for the comfort value with the actual grip size being reduced.

don't particularly like them going with the black joy-cons as the seeming default and having the red and blue on the actual switch 2 itself. i really hope we get more colorful options, especially at launch.

april direct, huh? feels like an odd timing since we've had the february/june/september pattern down pretty consistently for a while. really makes me wonder what they're planning for the release window. super exciting to actually have a clear date to look for ward too, though.
