A lot of us used to be messed up kids. It’s up to us to be not so messed up adults, and accepting ourselves and others is the first step.

So like with the environment I was raised in, ever since I became concious as a human I’ve been actively working on growing, learning and understanding other people, cultures, ethnicities and so on. Because like being raised in a white ass Mormon family, especially when you ended up being homeschooled and not really allowed any sort of media that’d expose you to new things and ideas, that’s something you have to actively do.

Due to this being a choice I made at some point and something I still actively try to do- I just cannot comprehend not seeing people as anything less than human. I get so mad that other people cannot seem to do something so simple.

In the same vein though, this has offered me the knowledge of their point of view. That they are so scared of not seeing people as ‘others’ or less than because they translate them having equality as an uno reverse of sorts. That anything these people may have been put through by cishet white people is something they now have to go through. They are so terrified of being treated the way they treat others that they’d rather keep the status quo of inequality rather than learn grow and be better. To accept that these people are better than them and would never do anything of the sort to someone else because they know how much it absolutely sucks balls to be treated as less than because of race, sexuality, gender etc etc.

All these things that people are treated as less than for are things they cannot change. Things they cannot help. And yet, the people actively choosing to keep these systems can’t seem to comprehend that.

I love this lil guy but I got some shit to say

If he was my own character I would re-write him. Like his story n shit is great n all but like, there's just something about him that makes me wanna dissect him and put him back together, I feel almost similarly about Jeff Woods, but not entirely and I don't feel like that with anyone else.

I wanna just cut him open methodically [I think that's the right word] and then I wanna just examine all his organs and all his pieces and then shape him into a different puzzle and put him back together

Like I'll be real I love the way he is. I am in a pit just examining everything about him

But like, there's just something about him that makes him so special and completely relatable at the same time and I've tried to replicate it into at least one of my many, many ocs but I just can't grasp it

So this is what I propose, I should be allowed to metaphorically dissect that man like a frog and rebuild him for my own education and then you people who look at my things can be the audience to tell me if he still has that factor that I can't seem to grasp and I then can take what I learn from that for my own ocs

But also at the same time I don't know where I would start and how I would be able to distinct the fans fiction of his character and the perfect canon of him and not mix them to add unnecessary extra factors

Consider this a science experiment/social experiment

It would be nice if humanity could reach a point where landscaping like this is not okay. I walk past this area frequently, and they regularly nuke everything with roundup and remove all the detritus. Think of all the arthropods and other wildlife this wasted space could support. I understand having fire buffers around buildings, but this attitude isn’t exclusive to plots close to buildings…

I also understand many native plants can be more difficult to grow, but California poppies (in the Bay Area) are not one of them. I’m sure other regions have similarly easy to grow species. Even a few plants can make a huge difference.

We as a culture need to stop it with the blasé attitude about the destruction of nature, particularly bugs (ie invertebrates). “Kill it with fire” is a shitty and ignorant way to react to a tiny animal that is merely trying to exist. The vast majority of bugs are not out to get you and are, in fact, terrified of you (rightfully so in many cases).

Would you squish a baby bird? Didn’t think so.

HAPPY 10 YEARS TO THIS NINJAGO BLOG!! 🎉🎉

I still can't believe 10 years have already passed since I created this blog! I started this blog since 2015 (between NS4 & NS5) and time flew by quick!

Back in 2011, I was just a small kid waiting at the television for Ninjago to air. Now as an adult, even though I'm not as free as I used to be, the little kid in me still feels excited whenever I hear news about a new season. Ninjago holds a special place in my heart, it's the very first fandom I've joined in my life after all HAHA

It's kind of surreal looking back at how far Ninjago has come. I remembered how LEGO wanted to replace Ninjago with Chima/Nexo Knights, and I'm really glad they didn't. We used to be so worried about whether we're going to get another season or if it's the end of Ninjago.

Yet, here we are, completed 15 seasons and now with the new Dragons Rising seasons! I hope Ninjago will still go strong after all these years!

I also want to thank my followers, you guys are really the best!! 💖 I'm sorry for my inactiveness on here but thank you so much for staying with me!

Hope everyone here is doing well! And whoever needs to hear this: Don't give up and remember that NINJA NEVER QUIT! I believe in you! You are stronger than you think! :)

I have to "remake" my "Gaslight District" post because I fv(k3d something up and i have to start from the scratch

I don't think "Gaslight District" is that good

Before you come jump at me: that's my honest opinion ok? Good!

Positives:

☆ the main gang has pretty fun personalities (despite them not being introduced well)

☆ both animation and visuals are good

☆ the worldbuilding is interesting (same goes for the gang's implied backstories/origins despite something i'm going to mention in the negatives)

☆ the voice acting is decent

☆ the soundtrack is also decent (but the end credits song is chef's kiss)

☆ some of the shots are pretty cool

☆ it has some chuckle worthy moments (even when they are unintentional)

☆ Diligence looks like he would serve cvnt

Now the NEGATIVES:

★ the editing is not good

★ the pacing is too fast

★ just like i mentioned in the positives: the characters are not introduced well (we get to know their names by them being literally shown which is not a good idea)

★ i get what they were trying to do with those gross close ups and exaggerations but i don't think they are done well (one of the moments where i like the exaggeration is the one where the guard/soldier screams "intruders!" right before getting hit by the gang's van)

★ some of the jokes are not great (including the go to hell joke)

★ some elements such as Melancholy's origins, her confrontation with mother angel, Ken's confrontation/fight with Temperance and the whole Human Egg scheme don't feel impactfull, n'or compelling due to them all happening in the pilot, which is in my opinion: TOO EARLY (also the reveal that Mud used to be one of the guards/soldiers is pretty out of nowhere)

★ both Diligence and Temperance are introduced in their physical form too early and also die too early

★ there are elements/moments that are kinda hard to take seriously

★ the story feels rushed

So yeah, in my opinion "Gaslight District" is enjoyable at best and rushed (and disappointing) at worst
