The Role of Eye Muscles in Squint and Binocular Vision
Our eyes are marvels of engineering, constantly working together to create a single, clear image of the world around us. This ability, known as binocular vision, is essential for depth perception, allowing us to judge distances and navigate our environment effectively. However, when the intricate dance of the eye muscles is disrupted, squint, also known as strabismus, can occur.
The Orchestra of Eye Muscles Six extraocular muscles, working in precise coordination, control each eyeball's movement. These muscles can be grouped based on their function:
Medial rectus: Pulls the eye inwards (nasal direction) Lateral rectus: Pulls the eye outwards (temporal direction) Superior rectus: Rotates the eye upwards Inferior rectus: Rotates the eye downwards Superior oblique: Rotates the eye upwards and inwards Inferior oblique: Rotates the eye downwards and outwards These muscles receive signals from the brain, allowing us to track objects, converge on near objects for focusing, and maintain proper eye alignment.
The Delicate Balance: Binocular Vision Binocular vision requires perfect coordination between the eyes and the brain. When we look at an object, both eyes fixate on the same point, sending slightly different images to the brain due to the slight horizontal separation of the eyes. The brain then fuses these images into a single, three-dimensional image, providing depth perception.
This remarkable feat relies heavily on the proper functioning of the eye muscles. The muscles must maintain precise alignment of the eyes, ensuring both retinas receive the corresponding parts of the object being viewed.
Squint: When the Orchestra Falls Out of Tune Squint disrupts this delicate balance. It occurs when the eye muscles are imbalanced, causing one eye to turn inwards (esotropia), outwards (exotropia), upwards (hypertropia), or downwards (hypotropia). This misalignment prevents the brain from fusing the images correctly, leading to double vision (diplopia) or suppression of vision in one eye (suppression scotoma).
There are several factors that can contribute to squint:
Weak eye muscle development: In some cases, the muscles responsible for eye movement simply haven't developed properly. Focus problems: Difficulty focusing on near or far objects can strain the eye muscles, leading to misalignment. Refractive errors: Uncorrected farsightedness or nearsightedness can strain the eye muscles and contribute to squint. Neurological conditions: Certain neurological conditions can affect the communication between the brain and the eye muscles, leading to squint. Family history: Squint can sometimes run in families, suggesting a genetic predisposition. The Impact of Squint on Vision Squint can have a significant impact on vision, especially if left untreated. Here are some of the potential consequences:
Amblyopia (lazy eye): When squint occurs during childhood, the brain may begin to suppress the image from the misaligned eye. Over time, this suppression can lead to amblyopia, where the vision in the weaker eye weakens. Poor depth perception: Squint disrupts the brain's ability to fuse the images from both eyes, making it difficult to judge distances accurately. Eye strain and headaches: The constant effort to maintain eye alignment can lead to eye strain and headaches. Reduced quality of life: Double vision and other vision problems associated with squint can make daily activities challenging and affect self-esteem, particularly in children. Treatment Options for Squint The good news is that squint is a treatable condition. The specific treatment plan will depend on the severity and type of squint. Here are some common approaches:
Eyeglasses: Corrective lenses can address underlying refractive errors that may be contributing to squint. They can also help improve overall vision clarity and reduce eye strain.
Eye Patching: This therapy is particularly effective for children with amblyopia caused by squint. By patching the stronger eye, it forces the weaker eye to work harder, strengthening its muscles and encouraging better eye teaming. Patching is typically used in conjunction with other treatments.
Vision Therapy Exercises: A tailored program of eye exercises prescribed by an eye doctor can help improve eye coordination and train the brain to use both eyes together. These exercises may involve focusing on objects at different distances, convergence training (focusing both eyes on a near object), and using specialized tools like prisms or Brock strings.
Surgery: In some cases, particularly for adults or those with severe misalignment, squint surgery may be recommended to improve eye alignment. This surgery involves weakening or strengthening specific eye muscles to achieve proper alignment.
Early diagnosis and treatment of squint are crucial for achieving the best possible outcomes.
Early Intervention and Long-Term Management Early diagnosis and treatment of squint are crucial for achieving the best possible outcomes. By addressing squint in childhood, we can prevent vision problems like amblyopia and ensure proper development of binocular vision. Here's why early intervention is key:
Critical development period: The brain's visual system is most receptive to development during the first few years of life. Early treatment during this period allows the brain to establish proper binocular vision more effectively. Preventing amblyopia: Left untreated, squint can lead to amblyopia, where the vision in one eye weakens. Early intervention can prevent amblyopia from developing or allow for better recovery of vision in the weaker eye. Improved depth perception: Binocular vision is essential for depth perception. Early treatment of squint allows the brain to develop proper depth perception skills, crucial for tasks like navigating stairs or catching a ball. Better quality of life: Treating squint early can prevent vision problems that could hinder a child's development and social interactions. Even after successful squint treatment, long-term management may be necessary. Regular follow-up appointments with an eye doctor are vital to monitor vision and ensure continued eye alignment. Additionally, maintaining good eye health habits like a healthy diet, sufficient sleep, and regular eye exams can further support good vision.
Conclusion: Working Together for Optimal Vision The intricate collaboration between the eye muscles and the brain allows us to experience the world in three dimensions. However, when this delicate balance is disrupted by squint, vision problems can arise. Fortunately, with a deeper understanding of the role eye muscles play, and by seeking professional guidance, we can effectively manage squint and achieve optimal vision.
Additional Considerations:
Early detection: Parents and caregivers should be aware of the signs and symptoms of squint in children, such as a visible turn in one eye, difficulty focusing, or head tilting. Impact on adults: While squint is more common in children, it can also develop in adults. Adults experiencing sudden squint or double vision should seek immediate medical attention, as this could indicate an underlying medical condition. Technological advancements: New technologies are emerging to assist in the diagnosis and treatment of squint. These include computerized eye movement assessments and vision therapy tools that utilize virtual reality. By working together, healthcare professionals, patients, and caregivers can ensure proper eye health and a world of clear, three-dimensional vision for everyone.

Lasik Eye Surgery
Why is LASIK Surgery deployed?
LASIK is a safe and effective surgery for correcting nearsightedness and farsightedness. It uses a laser to reshape the cornea so that people can see better with no glasses or contact lenses.
Who Is a Good Candidate for LASIK Surgery?
There is no one-size-fits-all answer to this question, as the best candidate for LASIK surgery will vary depending on individual factors such as eye health and vision history. However, some of the most common reasons why people may choose to have LASIK surgery are because they suffer from nearsightedness or farsightedness (a condition in which a person can see things close but not distant), or due to concerns about their ability to wear contact lenses long term. If you think that you might be a good candidate for LASIK surgery, it's important
What to Expect With LASIK Surgery
There are many factors that should be considered before undergoing LASIK surgery, such as your age and eye health. However, some of the most important things to know about LASIK include:
How well does the LASIK procedure work?
About 95% of patients who have undergone Lasik report excellent visual results. These individuals generally see a significant improvement in their vision, with reduced or eliminated nearsightedness and farsightedness. Some people experience minor post-operative complications related to dry eyes or glare but these are typically mild and temporary. Many patients also say that
Cataract Surgery or Cataract Treatment
It is a surgical procedure that restores vision by removing the cataract lens from your eye. There are many excellent ophthalmologists in Delhi who can treat cataracts and provide you with stunning restored vision. Here is a list of some of the best eye surgeons in Delhi:
Dr Chirag Mittal – One of India’s most renowned ophthalmologists, has treated thousands of patients over his near 20-year career. He is well-known for his skillful cataract surgery and provides superb results to all his patients.
What are cataracts?
A cataract is a cloudy lens. The lens is positioned behind the colored part of your eye (iris). The lens focuses light that passes into your eye, producing clear, sharp images on the retina — the light-sensitive membrane in the eye that functions like the film in a camera.
As you age, the lenses in your eyes become less flexible, less transparent and thicker. Age-related and other medical conditions cause proteins and fibers within the lenses to break down and clump together, clouding the lenses.
As the cataract continues to develop, the clouding becomes denser. A cataract scatters and blocks the light as it passes through the lens, preventing a sharply defined image from reaching your retina. As a result, your vision becomes blurred.
Cataracts generally develop in both eyes, but not always at the same rate. The cataract in one eye may be more advanced than the other, causing a difference in vision between eyes.
It is generally advised to use eye drops to lubricate your eyes. Please discuss with your eye specialist about which drops to use and how frequently.
What are the types of cataracts?
There are different types of cataracts, which can affect any part of the eye. They can be congenital (present from birth), acquired (caused by an injury or disease), or result from age-related changes in the lens.
Cataract types include:
Cataracts affecting the center of the lens (nuclear cataracts). A nuclear cataract may at first cause more nearsightedness or even a temporary improvement in your reading vision. But with time, the lens gradually turns more densely yellow and further clouds your vision.
As the cataract slowly progresses, the lens may even turn brown. Advanced yellowing or browning of the lens can lead to difficulty distinguishing between shades of color.
Cataracts that affect the edges of the lens (cortical cataracts). A cortical cataract begins as whitish, wedge-shaped opacities or streaks on the outer edge of the lens cortex. As it slowly progresses, the streaks extend to the center and interfere with light passing through the center of the lens.
Cataracts that affect the back of the lens (posterior subcapsular cataracts). A posterior subcapsular cataract starts as a small, opaque area that usually forms near the back of the lens, right in the path of light. A posterior subcapsular cataract often interferes with your reading vision, reduces your vision in bright light, and causes glare or halos around lights at night. These types of cataracts tend to progress faster than other types do.
Cataracts you're born with (congenital cataracts). Some people are born with cataracts or develop them during childhood. These cataracts may be genetic, or associated with an intrauterine infection or trauma.
These cataracts may also be due to certain conditions, such as myotonic dystrophy, galactosemia, neurofibromatosis type 2 or rubella. Congenital cataracts don't always affect vision, but if they do, they're usually removed soon after detection.
What are the symptoms of cataracts?
Signs and symptoms (watch out for symptoms in your family) of cataracts include:
Clouded, blurred or dim vision
Increasing difficulty with vision at night
Sensitivity to light and glare
Need for brighter light for reading and other activities
Seeing "halos" around lights
Frequent changes in eyeglass or contact lens prescription
Fading or yellowing of colors
Double vision in a single eye
How can I prevent cataracts?
There is no one definitive answer, but some tips to help prevent cataracts include living a healthy lifestyle and avoiding smoking, excessive drinking, and using sunscreens that contain harmful chemicals. Additionally, getting regular eye exams is an important step in maintaining your vision health. If you are experiencing any symptoms or difficulty seeing clearly, contact your doctor for consultation on the best way to protect your eyesight.
What’s the treatment for cataracts?
There is no one-size-fits all answer to this question as the best eye surgeries for cataract correction will vary depending on the type of cataract and your specific medical needs. However, some common treatments for cataracts include laser surgery, contact lens removal, and intraocular lens implants.
Dr. Chirag Mittal at AMVision Eye Care is renowned eye specialist in Delhi, and can provide best evaluation and options for long term relief from cataracts. He can be contacted at AMVision Eye and Child Care, Delhi.

Routine Eye Check Ups in Delhi
Routine Eye Checkups in Delhi: Why They Matter
Why Routine Eye Checkups are Important
Eye checkups aren’t just for people with vision problems; they’re essential for everyone, regardless of age or vision clarity. Here’s why:
Early Detection of Diseases: Eye exams can help detect eye conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, macular degeneration, and diabetic retinopathy in their early stages. Early treatment can prevent further damage and even blindness.
Correcting Vision Issues: For those who wear glasses or contact lenses, eye checkups help to ensure that your prescription is up-to-date. You may not realize that your vision has changed until it becomes a noticeable issue.
Monitoring General Health: The eyes are often referred to as the window to your health. Many systemic diseases, such as diabetes and hypertension, can manifest in the eyes. An optometrist or ophthalmologist may detect signs of these conditions during a routine eye exam.
Addressing Digital Eye Strain: With many Delhiites working long hours in front of screens, digital eye strain is increasingly common. Routine checkups can help address issues like dry eyes, blurred vision, and headaches caused by extended screen exposure.
Who Needs an Eye Exam?
Children: Early eye exams are crucial for children to ensure proper vision development. Poor vision can interfere with a child’s learning and cognitive growth. A first eye checkup is recommended before a child turns one, followed by routine exams every one to two years.
Adults: From the age of 18 to 40, it is recommended to have an eye exam every two years. After 40, yearly checkups become necessary as the risk for age-related eye diseases increases.
Seniors: For those aged 60 and above, annual checkups are crucial to monitor for conditions like cataracts, glaucoma, and macular degeneration.
People with Pre-existing Conditions: Diabetics, hypertensives, or those with a family history of eye conditions may need more frequent checkups.
Common Signs You Need an Eye Checkup
Blurred or distorted vision
Frequent headaches
Squinting or difficulty reading
Eye strain, especially after prolonged screen use
Double vision
Seeing halos or floaters
Eye pain or discomfort

What to Expect During an Eye Checkup
A routine eye exam is painless and usually takes around 30 minutes to an hour. It involves a series of tests that assess your vision and the overall health of your eyes.
Visual Acuity Test: This common test measures how well you can see at various distances. You’ll read letters from a chart, and the results will help determine if you need glasses or a new prescription.
Refraction Test: The doctor uses different lenses to determine the correct prescription for your glasses or contacts.
Eye Muscle Test: This test evaluates how well your eye muscles work. It involves following a moving object with your eyes.
Slit-Lamp Examination: A slit lamp is a microscope that allows the doctor to examine the structures at the front of your eyes, including the cornea, iris, and lens.
Retinal Examination: The doctor will use special tools to look at the back of your eyes, including the retina, optic nerve, and blood vessels. This can detect signs of diseases like glaucoma or diabetic retinopathy.
Tonometry: This test measures the pressure inside your eyes and is crucial for detecting glaucoma.
Tips for Maintaining Eye Health
In between your routine eye checkups, there are simple practices you can follow to maintain your eye health:
Use Protective Eyewear: Whether you’re working on your computer or outside in the sun, protective eyewear like blue light glasses and UV-blocking sunglasses can protect your eyes.
Take Breaks from Screens: The 20–20–20 rule is a great way to prevent digital eye strain. Every 20 minutes, look at something 20 feet away for 20 seconds.
Eat a Balanced Diet: Foods rich in omega-3 fatty acids, lutein, and vitamins C and E (such as leafy greens, fish, and citrus fruits) can support good eye health.
Quit Smoking: Smoking increases your risk of developing cataracts, macular degeneration, and other serious eye conditions.
Stay Hydrated: Dry eyes can be prevented by drinking plenty of water and using artificial tears if necessary.
Final Thoughts
Routine eye checkups are a small investment in your overall health that can have significant long-term benefits. Whether you’re noticing a change in your vision or simply maintaining your routine health care, there’s no better time to schedule an appointment with an eye specialist in Delhi. Protect your sight, and ensure that your eyes are well-cared for in this bustling city.

Symptoms of Weak Eyesight
Eyesight is a crucial part of our daily lives, helping us navigate the world around us. Unfortunately, many people experience vision problems that can significantly impact their quality of life. Weak eyesight, also known as vision impairment, is one of the most common issues people face. While it may not always be noticeable at first, over time, the symptoms can worsen, affecting your ability to read, drive, work, or even enjoy simple activities.
In this blog, we will discuss the most common symptoms of weak eyesight, what they mean, and when it is essential to consult the best eye surgeon in Delhi, a city known for its high-quality medical care and advanced treatment options.
1. Blurry Vision
One of the earliest and most obvious symptoms of weak eyesight is blurry vision. You may notice that objects, both near and far, appear out of focus. Blurry vision can be caused by several factors, such as refractive errors like nearsightedness (myopia), farsightedness (hyperopia), or astigmatism. If you struggle to read road signs or experience difficulty seeing objects at a distance, it’s crucial to consult an eye specialist doctor in Delhi. They can diagnose the exact problem and recommend corrective measures like glasses, contact lenses, or surgery.
2. Frequent Squinting
Squinting is a natural response when your eyes struggle to focus on an object. By squinting, you narrow your eyes, temporarily improving clarity. However, frequent squinting is not a long-term solution and could signal weak eyesight. People who squint regularly may unknowingly worsen their vision over time. Squinting can also lead to headaches, eye strain, and fatigue. If you catch yourself squinting often, visiting the top ophthalmologist in Delhi is a wise choice to identify the underlying issue and receive appropriate treatment.
3. Eye Fatigue or Strain
With the growing reliance on digital devices, many individuals experience eye fatigue, also known as digital eye strain. Staring at computer screens, smartphones, or tablets for extended periods can make your eyes feel tired or strained. If you frequently experience eye discomfort, redness, or irritation after using these devices, it could be a sign of weak eyesight. Prolonged eye strain may also lead to more severe issues like dry eyes or blurred vision. An eye specialist doctor in Delhi can help you with solutions, such as computer glasses or proper lighting adjustments, to ease the strain on your eyes.
4. Difficulty Seeing at Night
Night blindness or difficulty seeing in low-light conditions is another symptom of weak eyesight. If you find it challenging to drive at night or struggle to adjust your vision in dimly lit environments, it might be time to see a specialist. Night blindness can be caused by conditions like cataracts or a lack of Vitamin A. In Delhi, the best eye surgeon can help diagnose these issues and recommend treatments such as lens replacement or dietary changes.
5. Double Vision
Seeing double or experiencing double vision (diplopia) is a concerning symptom that indicates more severe eye problems. Double vision occurs when your eyes cannot align properly, causing overlapping images. This condition can be the result of weak eye muscles, cataracts, or even neurological issues. If you encounter double vision, it is essential to seek immediate attention from a top ophthalmologist in Delhi. They will perform a comprehensive eye examination to rule out serious conditions and suggest appropriate treatment options.
6. Frequent Headaches
Frequent headaches, particularly around the forehead and eyes, can be another sign of weak eyesight. Eye strain caused by struggling to focus on objects can lead to tension headaches. If you experience headaches regularly, especially after reading, working on a computer, or watching television, it is likely due to weak vision. Seeking help from an eye specialist doctor in Delhi can provide relief by correcting your vision with the right glasses, lenses, or even surgery.
7. Halos Around Lights
If you notice halos or glare around lights, especially at night, it could indicate issues like astigmatism or cataracts. This symptom often accompanies blurry vision or difficulty seeing in low-light conditions. Halos can make driving at night particularly dangerous and may signal a more serious vision problem. Consulting with the best eye surgeon in Delhi can help you determine the cause and explore surgical options if necessary.
When to Consult an Eye Specialist in Delhi
If you are experiencing any of the symptoms mentioned above, it is crucial to seek professional help. Delhi is home to some of the top ophthalmologists and eye surgeons, offering world-class treatments for various eye conditions. Whether you need glasses, contacts, or surgery, the best eye surgeon in Delhi can provide the right care for your needs.
By catching vision problems early, you can prevent further deterioration and improve your overall quality of life. The key is not to ignore symptoms like blurry vision, headaches, or eye strain, as they may indicate more serious issues that require medical intervention.
In conclusion, weak eyesight can manifest in many ways, from blurry vision to difficulty seeing at night. If you notice any of these symptoms, consulting an eye specialist doctor in Delhi is a wise step to preserving your vision and preventing further complications. With the help of the best eye surgeon in Delhi, you can get the appropriate treatment and maintain your eye health for years to come.

While each eye hospital in Prayagraj has its unique strengths, there are several factors that set them apart as a group:
Blend of Traditional Values and Modern Medicine: Many of these hospitals successfully integrate the cultural ethos of Prayagraj with cutting-edge eye care.
Experienced Specialists: The ophthalmologists at these hospitals are highly qualified, with many having received training from prestigious institutions across India.
Comprehensive Care: From routine eye check-ups to complex surgical procedures, these hospitals offer a wide range of services under one roof.
Community Focus: Many of these hospitals conduct regular eye camps and community outreach programs, bringing quality eye care to underserved areas.
Affordable Care: Despite offering advanced treatments, many eye hospitals in Prayagraj strive to keep their services affordable and accessible to all sections of society.
Choosing the Right Eye Hospital in Prayagraj
When deciding on an eye hospital, consider the following factors:
Range of Services: Ensure the hospital offers the specific eye care services you need.
Doctor Credentials: Research the qualifications and experience of the ophthalmologists at each facility.
Technology: Inquire about the diagnostic and surgical equipment used at the hospital.
Patient Reviews: Look for testimonials and reviews from previous patients.
Location and Accessibility: Consider how easy it is to reach the hospital, especially if you'll need multiple visits.
Cost and Insurance: While not the only factor, consider the cost of treatment and whether the hospital is empaneled with your insurance provider.
The Importance of Regular Eye Check-ups
Regardless of which eye hospital in Prayagraj you choose, it's crucial to schedule regular eye check-ups. Many eye conditions, such as glaucoma and diabetic retinopathy, can develop without noticeable symptoms in their early stages. Regular check-ups can help detect these conditions early, leading to more effective treatment.
Most eye care professionals recommend a comprehensive eye exam every 1-2 years for adults, and annually for children and seniors. However, if you have a family history of eye diseases or other risk factors, your doctor may recommend more frequent check-ups.
Prayagraj's Unique Eye Care Landscape
Prayagraj's eye care landscape is unique in several ways:
Cultural Sensitivity: Many eye hospitals in Prayagraj are attuned to the cultural and spiritual aspects of healing, which is important to many patients in this holy city.
Focus on Comprehensive Care: Given Prayagraj's diverse population, many eye hospitals offer a wide range of services to cater to various needs.
Emphasis on Education: Several eye care facilities in Prayagraj are involved in educating the public about eye health, contributing to increased awareness in the community.

Ophthalmology Clinic In Delhi
Ophthalmology Clinic In Delhi
Paediatric ophthalmology and squint
A squint (strabismus) is a condition where the eyes point in different directions.
Signs and symptoms of a squint
One of your child's eyes may turn inwards, outwards, upwards or downwards, while the other eye looks forward. Squints may not be constant, and a minor squint isn't always obvious. A squint can cause blurred or double vision, but children may not realise there's a problem. Left untreated, lazy eye (amblyopia) can develop. This is when the brain starts to ignore signals coming from the eye with the squint.
How are squints treated?
To be most successful and avoid long-term problems, most squints should be treated as soon as possible. Treatment is most effective in very young children.
Several types of treatment are available for squints, including:
1. Glasses – worn constantly to correct vision problems (refractive errors). Children are usually given plastic lenses instead of glass.
2. Eye exercises – In some cases, special eye exercises may help the eyes to work together. 3. Botulinum toxin injections into one of the eye muscles – the injection weakens the muscle, allowing the eyes to realign for around three months. The eyes may stay in position or may need further treatment. Children will usually be given a sedative before the injection.
Squint surgery
If other treatments aren't successful, surgery will probably be required. This involves moving the muscles that control the movement of the eye to improve their alignment and help the eyes work together. Risks from surgery are rare, although sometimes more than one operation will be needed. With an emphasis on patient comfort and satisfaction, we aim to provide a seamless experience throughout your glaucoma treatment journey.
Understanding Glaucoma: A Silent Threat to Vision
Before delving into glaucoma eye treatment at Bharti Eye Foundation, let's gain a deeper understanding of this silent threat to vision. Glaucoma is a group of eye conditions characterized by damage to the optic nerve, often caused by elevated intraocular pressure (IOP). If left untreated, glaucoma can gradually impair peripheral vision, leading to tunnel vision and, ultimately, irreversible blindness.
Early Diagnosis: The Key to Effective Treatment
Early diagnosis plays a pivotal role in managing glaucoma effectively. Regular comprehensive eye exams at Bharti Eye Foundation can help detect glaucoma in its early stages, enabling prompt intervention and preventing further vision deterioration. Our ophthalmologists employ state-of-the-art diagnostic tools and techniques, such as tonometry, visual field testing, and optical coherence tomography, to assess your eye health comprehensively.
Customized Treatment Plans: Tailored to Your Needs
At Bharti Eye Foundation, we understand that every patient's journey with glaucoma is unique. That's why our team of specialists develops customized treatment plans to address individual needs and preferences. By considering various factors such as the type and severity of glaucoma, overall health, and lifestyle, we strive to provide tailored solutions that optimize treatment outcomes.
Medications: Controlling Intraocular Pressure
One of the primary goals of glaucoma eye treatment at Bharti Eye Foundation is to manage intraocular pressure effectively. Medications, available in the form of eye drops or pills, are often prescribed as a first-line treatment to lower IOP. These medications work by either reducing the production of aqueous humor or enhancing its drainage from the eye.
Laser Therapy: Precise Intervention for Glaucoma
Laser therapy has revolutionized the field of glaucoma treatment, offering a safe and effective alternative to traditional surgical procedures. At Bharti Eye Foundation, our experienced ophthalmologists employ advanced laser techniques, such as Selective Laser Trabeculoplasty (SLT) and Laser Peripheral Iridotomy (LPI), to enhance the drainage of aqueous humor and regulate intraocular pressure.
