The little family was entranced as Emma began to read, listening as her voice wove an elaborate tale.

She described a fantastical world full of complex characters, from dashing knights to conniving imps, and scores of side characters ranging from dragons to werewolves that helped build the story. Henry was quite the attentive listener, cheering when the knights defended their land, and gasped spectacularly when the story got exciting with a crucial battle.

Just as the action reached its peak, Henry had grown quiet, raptly absorbing each word of the fight.

Outside, the storm was growing stronger.

Then there was a flash of lightning, and the love of Emma’s life vanished.

Just like that.

Gone.

In awe of this piece! The colours are beautiful, and I like that you have this magic-like effect that billows up from the scene we're witnessing, giving it a fantasy vibe. Regina in the background facing away from Henry and Emma is so telling from the summary of the story, and the little details of her dress are stunning… Smart layout, well done… this is stunning. ive been staring at it for a few minutes now and im still entirely in awe. you've managed to create a little universe in just one picture. and the way you used the clouds of smoke to transition from emma and henry in bed to regina at the window is so so creative!! and the facial features on all three of them are so expressive… I adore the color scheme, it feels deep and magical, with the different shades and shadows of purple, then Emma apart from it in red… This is absolutely GORGEOUS… oH WOW, this is so beautiful!!! You really capture the story perfectly here… Wow, this piece is gorgeous! The colours used here are so vibrant, like something you would expect to be on the cover of a children's book. The expressions you used for Emma and Henry's faces are just adorable, and it tells a story where Regina looks to be a part of their lives, but yet so separate. Great work on this, a stunning rendition of the summary of the fic

Accompanied by @achromacat’s beautiful art, which perfectly captures the essence of this fic, Silvertongue by @keepapplesaday weaves together the worlds of Inkheart and Once Upon a Time to create a truly captivating story with twists and turns that will leave you surprised and rushing to click next chapter as quickly as you can. The tale begins with Emma reading a bedtime story to young Henry, a simple act that goes disastrously wrong thanks to a gift she does not know she possesses. She is a Silvertongue and, just like that, her wife, Regina, is sent into the story book in exchange for Rumpelstiltskin and Little Red Riding Hood. It's years later before the opportunity for a rescue mission finally presents itself and Emma isn’t about to waste the chance to get her wife back - even if she quickly discovers that nothing in the Enchanted Forest is quite what she is expecting.

Go home before you get yourself hurt.” Emma huffs and jumps down from her horse to stand in front of the guard. “I am not drunk. I want to speak to the queen, now.” The guard gulps. No one just came to talk to the Queen.They were either taken here against their will, or they wanted to beg for mercy as they requested for something because they were desperate. But wanting to speak to the Queen of their own volition. That was a new one. “Alright lass, it’s your funeral. Follow me.”

They saw the approaching lights of a village, and Emma decided they could maybe rent a room. “With what money?” Henry asked. He whipped out his wallet from his pocket. “I don’t suppose they take Visa?” Emma glared at him. “That is for emergencies only.” “If this doesn’t constitute as an emergency mom, I don’t know what would,” Henry countered.

“Look, I have no idea about any of this. I was reading some stories to my kid, and then all of this happened,” Emma finished by waving her hands around the room, as if that explained everything. But Red seemed satisfied with that answer, as she went back to the book. “I see.” “You do?” Not that Emma wanted Red to be wary of her, but she wouldn’t be convinced by her own story, she had a hard time believing the other woman was. “Certainly. You’re a silvertongue, clearly,” Red said, poring over the book. Emma blinked. “I’m a whatnow?” Red looked up. “A silvertongue.” “Yeah that doesn’t really clear anything up,” Emma responded. “My tongue is pink.”

This was brilliant through and through, thank you for writing it… You have such a knack for Swan Queen retellings, and this one was particularly wonderful! I'm left wondering how much is totally AU and how much fits into the initial premise, because it fits so well and I can't imagine the kind of wrangling you've done with it… This whole story was wonderful, and the perfect mashup of Inkheart and OUAT… i loved this fic so much! it felt so simple and easy to read despite how much was going on, and if you ask me, that says so much about your skill. the pacing was perfect as were all your characters, and it was so interesting watching you combine two worlds… This was very creative and cute. I love their love for each other… I love the premise for this story! Inkheart is one of my favorite book series so to see it combined with OUAT had me jumping to read it. Also your skill is top notch. You write Emma brilliantly… your writing is amazing!! I love how you're basing this on inkheart but still staying true to the everyones backstories+personalities… Wow, I did NOT expect that twist!

Emma’s foggy mind was slowly clearing, and she began sit up and look around her. They were in a forest clearing, lush green and calm, almost magical. It had worked? “Where are we?” Henry asked. “I-” Emma faltered. “I think we’re inside the book. The Enchanted Forest.”
