i'm not going to be active anymore, like i need to find a more permanent solution for the issues i'm having

i started using tumblr as a way to be social during a depression that stopped me from doing basically anything other than laying bed and watching movies, as a way to help me cope with what was going during a time i couldn't go outside even if i wanted to

and it has helped, i started gardening again, cleaned up my room, started seeing my friends more and more, even found an interest in reading and writing, but this clearly wasn't a cure, this wasn't just a magical adventure that fixed my mental health issues, it instead was an eye opener, and it nearly took me another relapse to figure it out

it turns out, i'm so afraid of living my life with nothing to show for it, that i'd rather waste it entirely, and tumblr was enforcing that belief whole heartedly, at least to me, i never figured out what issues i had, because everywhere i looked i was being told that it was okay to feel the way i did, to me it normalised being mentally ill, it showed me that i needed to take steps to improve my mental health without really realising that it doesn't solve anything

it's probably different for every person, i'm not saying implies to anyone other than me, but i feel like i was better off treating the symptoms than the problem, because treating the problem might make you too "normal", and that somehow would make my biggest fear come true
