Hoppy, Kickin, and an OC!
In this supposed AU their names are Scotch Hoppfield, Ken Hen, and Maya Mirthful the moth athletically involved of the Smiling Critters (the oc is not considered part of the main gang), Hoppy and Kickin spend the most time on the mainland involved in a lot of big city sporting events and bringing back trophies and sponsorships and the like. Not many can rival their abilities, especially Hoppy who always seems to come out on top with Maya and Kickin being an item for a fair time.
One day Maya fell off the radar, coming back 2 years later out of the blue asking Kickin for help. With what? He's concerned and pretty T'd off about being ghosted for two years but for some reason he can't say no. But when his kinda sorta almost ex gf asks him to help her explore the abandoned toy factory, Kickin doesn't know what to expect.
Hoppy is a winner and everyone loves her. She is on top of the world! Nothing can stop her. Except for her heart. She is feeling indescribable pains lately, like something in her chest is unwinding but no doctor can tell her what is wrong. The pain is very fleeting and maybe that's why she ignores it, until she gets a letter in her mailbox asking her to come to the abandoned Playtime Co. "for review", nothing she is reading makes sense. And yet it does.

Omgg that other anon has put ideas in my head. Imagine Bezz in Love with Vale but never daring to make a move because he puts him in a pedestal.
And then rosquez reconciliation happens and he catches them... the angst
seee i dont think hes IN LOVE capital letters with vale i think he has a sexually confusing crush that he is in denial about.... like bezz to me is the kind of guy that is really good at avoiding thinking about like. WHY he thinks/feels things. he knows he has strong feelings about stuff and if theyre generally good or bad but when he tries and put specific ass names to them he gets lost a bit in the repression weeds. among the emotional jungle. and THEN he shies away from confronting the more complex ones bc hes a BIG people pleaser who is also invested in recieving macho-man praise from people around him and the public writ large... exhibit A. collarbonegate. idk i think being gay would scare the shit out of him! bc well. some people would look at him differently. and that would be hard to swallow. so he does a lot of mental gymnastics to ignore the specificity of his emotions and why he might be having them in relation to certain people. like its okay in sports to love your homies sos os so much but it is NOT okay to want to actually get married to them because that might involve social sanctions, risk your sponsorships, mess with your career, be RUTHLESSLY talked about on social media etc... its a really big deal !!! hes invested in not being gay but also very invested in loving people within these safe little frameworks bc thats what hes allowed to do
so for instance he knows he loves cele and hes okay with admitting to crying when he got his first moto2 win and talking about how much he cares about him in articles, because thats what sports is to him/ BUT if you asked him to his face if he's IN LOVE with cele i think my guy would fully bluescreen. please reboot your motorcycle racer. cold ass flop sweat playing with his 100 million bracelets like uh why would you say that. nervous smile. like he doesnt even know why he's so nervous but he IS. has to REALLYYY do some digging into his psyche to get to the bottom of all of that i think. it takes some time. which SUCKS bc cele keeps getting his hopes up and then getting shot down in roundabout uncomfy repression dude ways so he thinks bezz is uncomfy around him :/ which he ISNT hes just uncomfy around himself 1!1
which is also lowkey why the hero worship thing with vale is sooo interesting to me (esp with his weird ass marc complex lmao) bc its so sumbliminal and essential to bezz's identity AND easy to miss. easy to explain away. until you have 8 sex dreams about the man and it gets harder to ignore. and fr just makes a lot of sense to me inside the framework of the repressed gay sports guy miasma. also the idea of vale being bezz's gay awakening is just funny to me. he's like the keira knightly for tumblr bisexuals of the motorcycle racing community

𝐂𝐇𝐀𝐏𝐓𝐄𝐑 𝟒 | 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝟕𝟓𝐭𝐡 𝐇𝐮𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫 𝐆𝐚𝐦𝐞𝐬
As soon as the first cannon ball was shot, all the tributes immediately jumped into the water to join the walkways next to them, which led them to the Cornucopia or the ground.
(Y/N) saw Haymitch on the other side of the room, as focused as she was on the screen.
Their plan was the next one: Haymitch will take care of his protégés from the 12 and all the allies who can go with them, and (Y/N) will help the other ones who succeeded in making a team until they meet the band with the both youngests. She got told they were Districts 3, 4, 7, 8, and 11.
The race of the firsts on the walkways began.
On one side, she noticed Chaff running away in the jungle whereas Woof, the old male tribute from District 8, got drowned close to his pedestal. Cecelia, the woman from 8 who she has only seen a few times these last few years, was killed by Enobaria.
Then she watched Katniss arrive among the firsts at the Cornucopia and shoot an arrow at Gloss before coming face-to-face with Finnick. She felt the tension climbing. But they seemed to agree since, accompanied by Peeta and Mags, the quatuor sank into the forest together.
Unfortunately, she also got a view of an unarmed Seeder facing a Cachemire equipped with a knife. Knowing what was going to happen, she looked away.
Districts 3, 6, and 7’s duo also went at the same time to the central point of the arena before going back safe in two groups: 3, 7 on one hand, and 6 on the other. However, the male morphling was slaughtered by one of the careers before he could even touch the sand. Everyone else came into the vegetation.
The only group that wasn’t with the pseudo-couple from District 12 was Johanna & Co. They were the ones she had to take care of.
Since every tribute was starting their game and wasn’t likely to die in the near future, she knew she couldn't do anything for the moment.
So she decided to begin working on the sponsorship.
She perceived several little groups of sponsors all over the room who had already helped her with her tributes the previous years. She stood up, made her dress pretty, and went toward them with her most beautiful smile.
She stayed there all day to discuss with every sponsor she met. She laughed with them and flattered them during their conversations. She informed herself on their families, jobs, etc. She asked them some news about their children since last year. They took a few drinks together while talking about cinema then, when dinner time came, they ate at the back of the room while chatting about sports or the arts.
She only got some sweating once, a few hours after the beginning of the games when she got a view of a Haymitch suddenly turning pale several seats from where she was. She managed to move her interlocutor, who was doing a monologue about his pet turtle, around until he got his back facing the screen. At this moment, she could watch the Games at her discretion.
And we can say she was surprised when she saw, on the giant screen, Peeta lying on the ground with Finninck on top of him, kissing him.
She bugged.
Thanksfully, or not, she understood the situation when she witnessed the District 4 tribute straighten to make a cardiac massage. Seconds later, when the younger guy got his breath back and had his friend between his arms, she felt relieved. So she went back into her boring conversation about pet turtle's nutrition.
But this tiring day was useful when the night came and none of her protégés had already found water in the jungle.
With an embarrassed voice, she declared at the end of dinner how much she would be happy if they could make some donations so she could help her friends. They all looked cheerful at the idea of supporting the girl with whom they had had fun all day, so they all gave at least a little bit of money.
Then she searched for Haymitch’s group camp position on the map and went to the sponsorship room with her new finds.
She hesitated to send a spile to the group she was in charge of, but she came around. She didn’t even know if they would recognize the object, considering Districts 3 and 7 had never been reputed for their survival capabilities. Instead, she gave them four big fresh water bottles with a message: "They’re in the jungle at northeast - (F/L)".
And, while the parachute flew away to the arena, she spent the rest of the money on a spile she sent in secret to Chaff with the same message.
When she went back to the projection room, there wasn't practically anyone aside from the most obsessed of the viewers. She wouldn’t find any sponsors tonight, so she returned to her bedroom and prepared herself to go to sleep. She turned on her television to program the Games and, despite the tears rolling down her cheeks because of Seeder’s death, she fell asleep.
She woke up early the day after and immediately looked for what happened this night on the Hunger Games information site.
Among other things, she learned about Blight’s and the female morphling’s deaths. Even if she was already sad, she was even more so the moment she saw Mags’s name on this list. She clicked on the link and was redirected to a rebroadcast showing the kind lady kissing Finninck before entering a threatening fog. She felt her heart break as soon as she noticed the light flickered into the blond guy’s eyes and his screams of his former mentor’s name.
She was interrupted by knocks on her door. On her doorstep, she read Haymitch’s note to meet them at the place they encountered Plutarch a few days ago.
She found both men there.
They exposed her to their problem: Beetee had a plan but he didn’t have the necessary material. He needed a coil of the wire he had created, but the only way to provide it to them without arousing suspicions was through sponsors. But it was really expensive, even for several middle sponsors.
"A solution," began Plutarch, "could be to go toward people we already know have enough money to afford exorbitant fancies."
A silence filled the room.
"Excuse me?" asked the (H/C) girl.
"This costs a lot of money, especially if it's a gift for a second day in the arena," continued the man, "so we need someone who can spend that much for their pleasure."
"Stop beating about the bush," declared Haymitch, "go clearly to the point."
"Julius is a very important man, he’s rich, and he throws extravagant expenses into... expensive hobbies." he said while directly looking at the girl from District 11.
"Too dangerous." refused the mentor from District 12, shaking his head.
"We don’t have many choices," responded the Head Gamemaker, "we need this for Beetee as soon as possible. It‘s a life-and-death issue for our allies in the arena."
Haymitch nervously eyed (Y/N).
"Alright," she accepted with her only wish to get Finnick and Johanna out of there as quickly as possible, "but I had never perceived him in the projection room during previous Games."
"I can convince him to pass his day there," Plutarch said, boosted, under the concerned look of the man from District 12. "It’s 8 a.m., I can bring him in 30 minutes."
The girl simply nodded.
"Perfect," finished the man, clapping his hands. "If you succeed, all our friends should be able to get out by this night. Good luck!"
And he left, leaving behind both districts residents.
"Don’t put yourself in danger." claimed Haymitch before quitting, "we can still find another plan."
Back in her bedroom, she made an emergency call to Lucretia so she could provide makeup and a very specific dress. The (H/C)-haired girl just wanted this to end: the interaction she will have with Julius, the 3rd Quarter Quell, the Hunger Games in general, and the domination of districts.
She only wished to peacefully live her life with her family and friends.
Her stylist seemed to be worried about her.
"Are you okay?" She wondered while showing the pale and transparent dress with a cut that didn’t leave much to the imagination. "You hadn’t wanted to wear this kind of dress since your own Hunger Games."
"Yeah," she responded, absent-minded. "It’s just a gift from a sponsor I want to please."
She arrived where they were showing the Games before 9 a.m.
She immediately noticed Julius, who was calmly resting alone with a drink in his hand in a corner of the room. She joined him and, after he agreed, sat with him in purposeful discussion.
Despite the deep disgust this man inspired in her, she stayed with him in the hope that it could make a difference for her friends. She didn't doubt that they should be impatiently waiting in the arena to be rescued alive. And she would hate herself for the rest of her life if they came to die in there because she couldn’t do what she had to do. So she kept smiling, but not without maintaining distance between them.
From the corner of her eye, she saw Haymitch enter. He freezed when he looked in their direction before innocently installing himself a few places away from them. Too far away to hear what they were saying but still close enough to intervene if there was a problem.
With the District 12 mentor’s presence, it made her more comfortable.
At noon, she seemed to be almost reaching her goal, but she was suddenly blocked.
"Mmm, I don’t know," declared the man who yet looked to agree with her in these last hours. "It’s a lot of money for a beautiful thing like you."
After this long chat, her nerves were getting raw. She just wanted to end this.
"You don’t trust me, Julius? She demanded while placing her hand on his knee. As she leaned, the cleavage of her dress stooped more, and the man didn’t miss it. "After all those years?"
"Trusting isn’t the problem, doll," he smirked, "but why do you clutter up your pretty head with this kind of thoughts?"
"They’re my friends." she declared with the innocentest look she could make.
"And until where can you go to help your friends?"
"Until where President Snow let me, unfortunatelly," she responded with an expression she hoped was contrite. Even if she had to suppress a heave. "But I heard you really loved it the last time Beetee made his magic trick."
"That’s true," he expressed with a suddenly dreaming gaze, "this guy is talented, there are no doubts. He took them all by surprise and turned them into grilled chickens."
At the same time, screams resonated in the room.
The duo turned their eyes away to get a view of the giant screen. There was the career group attacking the newly formed one from Districts 3, 4, 7, and 12 at the Cornucopia. Wiress’s body was lying on the ground as a puppet.
Since when have they gathered?
She didn’t see the time fly. So she used the fascinated gaze in Julius’s eyes to set her play.
"Do you imagine if Beetee had that wire?" She whispered in his ear. "All this water with the sand wetted by the waves, he will touch a lot of people. You’re right : he was really talented years ago. What would it be now if he gots more experience and adapted material."
Without even blinking, Julius got out an accessory from his pocket and quickly clicked on it before showing her. It seemed he gave her more money than was necessary. She thanked him and moved off to the other side of the room to search for the reference to Beetee’s wire. Then she realized she had way more than enough money to buy the longest of them all.
Happy to herself and to be finally done, she stood up when she heard new loud shoutings.
She watched Katniss run into the jungle, screaming her younger sister’s name. This one still wasn’t on the screen, but her shouting was horrible. However, the District 12 tribute shot an arrow at a bird flying around her, and the child's screaming surprisingly stopped at the same time the animal fell down.
Jabberjays.
Finnick showed up to inquire how she was.
But the District 11 girl unexpectedly heard her own paniqued voice imploring for help through the speakers.
"Finnick! No! It’s not her." Katniss tried to catch him.
He still ran deeper into the vegetation, looking for the voice.
"(Y/N)! (Y/N)!" he yelled as a madman, confirming what she thought she had heard.
"Finnick! It’s not her." The dark-haired girl kept going. "It’s just a jabberjay. It’s not her."
"Well, how do you think they got that sound?" he responded, desperate. Jabberjays copy."
Both of them started to run away under the bird’s shouts.
From her side, (Y/N) could feel the weight of all the eyes directed toward her. Whispers began to spread while, on the screen, her voice was the only one torturing the male tribute from District 4.
Haymitch went behind her and moved her aside.
"You should maybe go." he murmured.
She nodded then, as if she were in slow motion, and went out of there to go to the sponsorship room. She automatically prepared the package for Beetee before she mechanically closed it and sent it with a message: "I’m fine, take care of you - (F/L)".
Back into her bedroom, she installed herself on her blankets and took in her arms the pillow Finnick had slept on the night before the beginning of the Games. She pressed her nose against it but couldn’t smell his scent. She still retained the pillow and switched on the television to keep watching the 3rd Quarter Quell.
She noticed the empty and exhausted look in Finnick’s eyes when the hour was done, and when they went on the beach, she contemplated him sitting in the water to think. The single act that lifted her, more than the happy faces at the moment they perceived the gift, was the relieved sigh of the blond guy at the moment he read the message. And when he discretely hidden it in his combination to keep it close.
She continued to sluggishly view the competition.
Once they separated to execute their plan and she still didn’t have any news from Haymitch or Plutarch, she decided to go looking for them. She didn’t find them in the projection room, or in the sponsorship room, or even in the dorms since no one answered when she knocked.
She went back into her empty apartment and waited for them to come searching for her.
Sadly, when she opened her door later, it was to face a troop of Peacekeepers.

F1 Buddie AU
•in which Buck is racecar driver, and Eddie is the medic that's been hired to make sure he keeps himself alive long enough to get onto the track. •ft. manager Bobby, pit crew Han brothers, car engineer Karen, and Baby Jee-Yun aka Buck's #1 Fan
-----
The first time that Buck met him, he doesn't actually remember.
-
He woke up in the medical tent with Bobby leaning against his bed and Maddie gripping tightly onto his wrist.
“What happened? Buck asked and both of them looked up to meet his eyes.
“Dehydration, Buck,” Bobby said drily, “Which was not supposed to happen after the last time you passed out from dehydration and the doctor told you that you needed to drink at least ten cups of water in a day.”
“I was at like four, so that's almost halfway there, right?” Buck tried, but neither of the people standing next to his medical cot looked impressed.
Patting a hand against Buck’s shoulder, Bobby sighed. “Buck, what is the point of you getting a sponsorship from Gatorade if you're going to not utilize the products that are sent to you and keep passing out from a lack of water and electrolytes?”
Buck pouted.
“I just wanted to name one of the flavors!” he protested, and Maddie nodded next to him.
“It's true- he's been sending them letters since he was like, five.”
Bobby couldn't resist the urge to smile fondly, but he shook his head, “So how about you drink the flavor that you named, so that Gatorade doesn't decide to take away their sponsorship for making a sports drink brand look bad by continuing to pass out while training.” He looked stern, and Buck grinned sheepishly, knowing Bobby was serious.
“Hey, at least it wasn't on the track this time.” Buck said lightly and both Bobby and Maddie's expressions soured immediately. “Okay, no- I'm sorry, too soon. I won't bring that up again.”
Too soon might not have been correct, but Buck thought the others might never be okay being reminded about the time his car had spiraled out of control after he'd lost consciousness behind the wheel and his car had hit a wall and gone up in flames. He had been stuck in recovery for months after that, nursing his broken leg and his sore ribs and his slightly singed hair. It took every ounce of emotional manipulation and sad guilty-faces that Buck could spare to convince Maddie that he was okay to race again. After it had been discovered that he’d passed out because of dehydrations, proper hydration was one of the factors that was a requirement for Buck being allowed back on the track.
He sighed, they really weren't overreacting, and Buck looked up, regretful look on his face, “I'm sorry, I'll be better. I promise.”
“I’m sure you will,” Bobby said, packing up the papers that were spread all over Buck's legs, “Because this new medic doesn't take any shit- and the company is now mandating that  someone be at the track to monitor your intake levels.”
“Noooo!” Buck whined, already realizing what this meant.
“Sorry, Buck,” Bobby tried, but Buck threw himself dramatically to the bed.
“I don't need a babysitter Maddie!” Buck tried, but Maddie just looked at him with that sad guilting face, and Buck just whined louder.
“Clearly, you do.” A smooth voice interrupted his complaints, and Buck looked around for the source of the derision drenched tone.
Oh.
Well, if it wasn’t the handsomest man Buck had ever seen in his life.

B 1 B 2 Visa Services for Cricket Tournaments in the United States SSV
youtube
Cricket, often considered a way of life in many countries, has gained significant traction globally, including in the United States. With its growing popularity, enthusiasts and professionals alike are flocking to the US to participate in tournaments, showcase their skills, and engage in the sport they love. However, for international players, coaches, and officials, navigating the visa process can be a daunting task. In this post, we'll delve into the intricacies of securing B1/B2 visas for cricket tournaments in the United States and provide insights to streamline the process.
Understanding the B1/B2 Visa:
The B1/B2 visa is a non-immigrant visa category that allows individuals to enter the United States temporarily for business (B1) or tourism/pleasure (B2) purposes. While the B1 visa is suitable for individuals attending business meetings, conferences, or negotiating contracts, the B2 visa is ideal for those visiting for recreational purposes such as tourism, vacations, or visiting family and friends.
Applying for a B1/B2 Visa for Cricket Tournaments:
For participants, including players, coaches, and officials, attending cricket tournaments in the US, the B1/B2 visa is the most appropriate category. Here's a step-by-step guide to help streamline the application process:
Documentation Preparation: Begin by gathering all necessary documentation, including the tournament invitation letter, itinerary, proof of accommodations, and evidence of financial means to cover expenses during the stay.
Online Application (DS-160): Complete the DS-160 form online, providing accurate and comprehensive information about your trip, background, and intentions in the United States.
Visa Fee Payment: Pay the non-refundable visa application fee, which varies depending on the country of application. This fee is payable online or at designated payment centers.
Schedule Visa Interview: After completing the DS-160 form and paying the visa fee, schedule a visa interview appointment at the nearest US embassy or consulate. Be sure to do this well in advance to secure a convenient date.
Visa Interview: Attend the visa interview at the appointed time. Be prepared to answer questions about your trip, cricket tournament participation, ties to your home country, and intentions to return after the tournament.
Additional Documentation: Depending on your circumstances, you may be required to provide additional documentation, such as a letter of sponsorship or proof of ties to your home country.
Visa Decision: Following the interview, the consular officer will make a decision on your visa application. If approved, your passport will be returned to you with the visa affixed, allowing you to travel to the United States for the cricket tournament.

I know you're busy po and I really wanna ask you about tips for organizing an event just like what you did recently. Yes, I'm a Caviteño and I fell in love with your blog esp about running! You're an inspiration po. Nvm this ask po if you're not interested but please please pleaaasee message me po because I need help organizing an event. Thank you po if you read this message : )
Hello! I'm thrilled to know you enjoy my blog especially my posts about running. Running is one of my life passions and aside from the high I get from a good workout, there is also this sense of fulfillment I get from being able share my passion with other people. That said, I don't feel like I'm qualified to dish out tips on organizing events. It was a spur of the moment decision and ultimately my partner and I decided to postpone it so as of this moment I still lack the requisite EXP points to call myself an event organizer.. but I'll do my best to share what I've learned so far.
I'm sharing insights from the perspective of organizing a sports event, I'm not really sure how it'll fit if you're planning to hold a different type of event but I hope this helps nonetheless. So let's say you already have a type of event in mind.
1. Define your objectives. Why do you want to organize the event? What do you wish to achieve by organizing the event? Be sure you and your event partner(s) have the same objectives otherwise you'll have a hard time working together if you don't see eye to eye in terms of the direction you wish to take.
2. Brainstorming - this is when you and your event partner(s) throw around ideas on what you want to see in your event. Try to come up with as many ideas as you can. List down everything and don't dismiss anything yet. From there, identify the good ones and see if there's any way you can make them work together, or if you need to trim down some more until you arrive at the best ideas(s) for your event.
3. Picking the date of your event. This is important as this will determine how much time you have to prepare. Based on my experience, you need to give yourself as much time as possible, moreso if this is your first time organizing an event. I did my research and found that it usually takes 3-6 months to organize a sports event, but my event partner insisted that we hold it in 2 months time. We eventually pushed it back by 2 more weeks but even that wasn't enough. So we postponed it yet again. This brings us back to my first tip of making sure you and your partner(s) are working towards the same objectives because I guarantee you that this is how a lot of challenges will arise in the process.
4. Lay down the particulars: venue, budget, costing, suppliers, logistics, sponsorships, marketing strategies. Create a timeline and make sure your targets are met within schedule.
5. Venue and suppliers. These will determine your costing. For our event, I had to contact various suppliers (from dri-fit shirts to medals to trophies, the list goes on) to get the best deals. The costing mainly determines the next item:
6. Budget. You need to secure the budget first. Where will it initially come from? From your own pocket? From sponsors? If from sponsors, prepare a list of possible sponsors, and prepare a well-written sponsorship letter to send to your prospects. If you don't have the budget yet, then this brings us back to my third tip which is picking the date of the event. You may want to hold the event at a much, much later time if you're going to work on securing the budget first. Be sure that the time you allot to raising funds won't eat up much time from the actual time allotted to prepare for the event.
7. Logistics. This involves identifying and securing your manpower, as well as coordinating with your local government units for the necessary permits. If it's a sports event, be sure to include in your manpower the race officials, race marshalls, traffic marshalls, medics. Also, carefully plan the flow of the event itself.
8. Marketing. Social media is definitely the way to go. Be sure to join groups that cater to the type of event you're holding so you can promote your event. Run sponsored ads (which needs budget). Be consistent in posting about the event on your page. Partner up with influencers to promote your event. Offer discounts and promos to encourage sign ups. You'll need time to gain traction, which brings us back to my third tip.
You see, everything ties together. Organizing an event is no easy feat. It takes careful planning, as well as the resolve to go through with your plan. You must be up to the task, and I realized along the way that I wasn't up for it yet. Hope this answer helps. If you have any additional questions don't hesitate to reach out. Good luck!

Happy STS! If your OC could have a YouTube channel, what would it be like?
Hey! Thanks for the ask!
I couldn't just pick one oc so I'm doing the whole Robots & Gardens crew.
Green: Stupid ass skits. Where she very vaguely shows off a lot of random skills she has completely unintentionally. She'll upload consistently then drop off the face of the earth for like a year and come back with a skit of a fake ass reason she won't online. Real reason is she gets demonetized cause she refuses to censor her cursing.
Peace: Probably reviews. Mostly off like online shops, random products, items seen often under sponsorships. Definitely gets age restricted for some of the products she reviews. She doesn't make money off the videos cause she has ripped apart sponsored products. Uploads sporadically.
Green and Peace: XD People saw them collabing and like people do they harassed them about a relationship they may or may not have had. They start making collabs on each others channel until they finally form one together. They now join lesbian youtube with an old school chapstick challenge but they don't kiss each other until the very very end like the fucking end bloopers. (Yes they have literally been figuring out flavors without making out)
Hollis: One of my favorite parts of youtube! The chaotic engineers side of YouTube. She will be building the most hectic bullshit sometimes it'll work sometimes it won't. Many three letter government agencies most likely have her on a watchlist after getting shit like fucking high focusing lasers. She'll joke constantly about her old job as her bot catches on fire behind her. Uploads sporadically, takes time to build stuff, they do stuff shit on Youtube shorts though.
Donnie: Plant dad! They talk about all the plants in their home and how to propagate plants. They'll try to build their own green house and recommend small business plant nurseries that they love. Gains a large following after people soon found out that they're not just mute but has multiple prosthetics. They occasionally talk about prosthetic care! Uploads like once a week and works hard with an editor to have an effective voice editor and captions.

How to Become a Sponsored Athlete—Step-by-Step Guide
How to Become a Sponsored Athlete—Step-by-Step Guide
Tumblr media
Becoming a sponsored athlete is the “door of opportunities” you hear people say. Many sports brands have modernized marketing, and at the center of this is becoming partners with athletes.
As an athlete, your career will take flight when you get sponsorship from sport apparel brands, or other brands generally. You gain more recognition, increased income, and control attention. All your sports equipment you used to struggle to get in place will be taken care of.
In this article we will highlight the step-by-step process to becoming a sponsored athlete.
Get your documents in place
You already have an identity, but your sponsors will have to know more about you to consider sponsoring you. So the first thing to do is get your document ready. If you're good with speech, prepare an elevator speech to sell yourself when you visit potential sponsors.
Have a good CV and cover letter that highlights your achievements and what you stand for. If you've taken part in any notable competition, or have made a major media appearance.
It doesn't have to be grandiose, and you do not have to add any information that is not true.
Build your personal brand
Things have changed, and people who have a business use social media to build their personal brand. Endeavor to have a strong media presence for two purposes: one, to serve as your online CV, and two, to serve as a channel to promote your sponsors’ brand.
Having a brand in this digital era makes things easier for you if you're looking to get a sponsor. It makes businesses consider you as an intentional athlete. Also, they see the potential benefit of partnering with you.

Be committed to promoting their businesses in the little way you can, then build your way up by approaching medium scale businesses and large scale sports businesses to get partnership deals.
Promote your brand
Promoting your brand is an effective way to keep sponsors attracted to your page. Doing this consistently helps you build momentum and ultimately seal partnership deals.
Start by creating content on your trainings, competitions, or other big sports events you're part of across all your social media channels.
This shouldn't cost you much, and you can hire the services of a social media manager since you'd be busy on the field anyway.
Join a support community

Calacus Monthly Hit & Miss – Sir Jim Ratcliffe & Manchester Utd
Every month we look at the best and worst communicators in the sports world from the last few weeks.
SIR JIM RATCLIFFE & MANCHESTER UNITED
There was a time when Manchester United set the standards by which other clubs were compared.
The era of Sir Alex Ferguson saw the club win 38 titles including 13 Premier Leagues, five FA Cups and two Champions Leagues. Off the field, the club capitalised on the Red Devils’ global profile to accumulate a raft of commercial partnership which ensured the club remained competitive.
But when Sir Alex retired in 2013, the club encountered an inevitable decline, failing to win the Premier League or the Champions League again and, at last count, giving eight different coaches control of the first team.
United’s demise has coincided with the club’s sale to the Glazer family in 2005, the American family enjoying a honeymoon period purely down to Sir Alex’s brilliance.
Patriarch Malcom Glazer, an American billionaire and owner of the NFL’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers, acquired an initial 2.9% stake in the club in 2003, which he later increased to 15%, before increasing his stake in the club to 75% and ending its status as a publicly listed company, before taking full control in June of 2005.
Takeovers in football undeniably garner huge attention from fans whose primary concerns relate to the wellbeing and competitiveness of their clubs. Glazer was quick to isolate himself from United’s fanbase when it became clear that the deal was primarily funded through loans secured against United’s assets – landing the club in the red by hundreds of millions.
Understandably the Glazers’ tumultuous relationship with United’s fanbase has endured, even since Malcom Glazer’s death in 2014, when his six children took control of the club.
A series of public relations issues ensued, further fracturing the relationship between the Glazer family and United’s fanbase. In 2015, it transpired that the Glazer children were receiving shareholder dividends that would pay them £15million a year. Fans suggested this was an unjustifiably large sum considering their lack of day-to-day engagement with the club.
Sean Bones, Manchester United Supporter Trust’s (MUST) vice-chairman, told Sky Sports: “We feel it would have been more justified to take a chunk of the debt rather than to extract money from the club.
“They have turned United into a cash cow and they are starting to milk it. It is obviously now a mechanism for the profits of United to leave the club and make its way to Florida.”
Perhaps most drastically in 2021 the Glazer family, among other top-flight European clubs, agreed to join the European Super League with six English clubs, before all of them withdrew their support for the breakaway organisation.
Joel Glazer, co-chairman of the club, latterly apologised in an open letter to United fans, writing “You made very clear your opposition to the European Super League, and we have listened. We got it wrong, and we want to show that we can put things right.”
Despite fewer trophies over the past decade, United have secured record breaking sponsorship deals around the globe, with the club propelling its commercial revenue from £44m in 2005 to over £300m in 2023.
According to Deloitte’s Football Money League, they remain among the most commercially viable clubs around, an achievement that largely goes under the radar.
The MUST have described the Glazer’s running of the organisation as “slow and opaque,” and after a prolonged period of negotiation billionaire Sir Jim Ratcliffe acquired a 27.7% minority stake in the club in February this year for £1.25bn through his company Trawlers Limited, an amusing nod to United’s beloved Eric Cantona.
With his business success through the INEOS company, Ratcliffe has already shown his passion for sport, backing the former Team Sky cycling team and backing the British America’s Cup bid as well as Ligue 1 club Nice and one-third of the Mercedes Formula 1 team.
At the time of the purchase, Sir Jim stated: “Whilst the commercial success of the Club has ensured there have always been available funds to win trophies at the highest level, this potential has not been fully unlocked in recent times.
“We will bring the global knowledge, expertise and talent from the wider INEOS Sport group to help drive further improvement at the Club, while also providing funds intended to enable future investment into Old Trafford.
“We are here for the long term and recognise that a lot of challenges and hard work lie ahead, which we will approach with rigour, professionalism and passion.”
During a BBC interview with Dan Roan, he further set out his aspirations for the club: “We have to walk to the right solution not run to the wrong one. Short term issue is we want to get into the Champions League for FFP. Real challenge is it’s a two-to-three season challenge to get the organisation and environment right to get the performances on the field right and winning football matches.
“It will be intense from time to time but equally it needs to be friendly, supportive, you need to create a combination of the organisation, right people, right environment, and then my belief is the results follow.”
Regardless of his minority stake, Sir Jim’s influence is clearly extensive, and it’s hardly a surprise that he wants to change so many aspects of the club to make it competitive for the top prizes again.
A quick win was to announce among his initial reforms that he would instigate a three-year freeze on dividend payments, bucking the controversial trend set by the Glazers.
A central part of this journey, says Ratcliffe, is investing in the right people to ensure success can flourish, leading to changes in the club’s leadership team including the inclusion of Dave Brailsford, the director of sport at INEOS.
Brailsford is a veteran in the world of competitive sports, having supercharged British Cycling to unprecedented heights during his role as director of performance. Team GB  cyclists won eight Olympic golds at the London 2012 games under his guardianship, with his scrupulous attention to detail yielding his ‘marginal gains’ philosophy tremendous success.
Brailsford went on to achieve similar accolades in the world of road cycling with Team Sky, rebranded INEOS Grenadiers in 2019, winning the Tour de France in the team’s third year under their new name.
There can be no doubt that Brailsford’s appointment is emblematic of Ratcliffe’s impressive ambition for United and demonstrates the Glazers’ willingness to cede operational control of the club, a move most welcomed by the fans.
Former Manchester City Commercial Director and Chief Football Operations Officer Omar Berrada was appointed as the new Chief Executive of the club in January as a precursor to Sir Jim’s official arrival the following month, a post he will most likely assume this summer after his gardening leave.
Berrada has an extensive background in football, particularly when it comes to player contracts and transfers, which will be crucial for United in the coming months and years.
Having bolstered City’s revenue to £712m in 22/23, overtaking United, Berrada is keen to stress that successful commerciality  is underpinned by success on the pitch.
Berrada will seek to reinvigorate United’s commercial footprint in tandem with improved playing performances and stated: “The commercial growth of the clubs is predicted or underpinned by success on the pitch. If you have a really good business strategy alongside it, then it just turbocharges the growth off the pitch.”
Some cynics have argued that Berrada’s exit from City shows he’s not indispensable, but his track record is certainly impressive.
Under his predecessor, Ed Woodward, United accumulated a net spend of more than £1.13bn since Ferguson’s retirement in 2013, the highest in the League, with fans having had little to cheer about.
Given that United finished eighth in the Premier League in the 2023-24 season, their worst finish since 1990, and with a goal difference of minus one, the future of manager Erik ten-Hag has been under scrutiny.
But it is not just on the field that United have struggled, since Sir Jim finalised his investment.
The proposed appointment of Dan Ashworth and United’s poaching of Technical Director Jason Wilcox from Southampton, further underlines Sir Jim’s intention to transform the club.
The pursuit of Ashworth has been controversial, especially after details of his covert email negotiations with Berrada were discovered, highlighting the fact that Ashworth was being tapped up, breaching Premier League guidelines and confidentiality agreements.
Equally, an audit of United staff and the club’s facilities has led to some clumsy communications that further underline the need for expert PR support.
In late April, Sir Jim made the decision to cut staff perks as part of his money-saving measures ahead of the men’s FA Cup final. A company-wide email outlined that while staff would be given a free ticket to the final, employees would have to pay for their own travel to and from the stadium.
Other perks such as the pre-match party, hotel accommodation and the ability for employees to bring friends and family to the match have also been scrapped.
This email, as revealed by The Times, said: “In recognition of your ongoing support this season, we will organise a colleague trip to Wembley for the final on 25 May.
“This year, the trip will be a little different. We will still provide you with a complimentary ticket to the game. However, we’ll ask you to contribute towards coach travel, and lunch will not be provided.
“While we appreciate this is a change from previous trips, you will be aware of the need for us to spend the club’s money effectively, with a focus on performance and outcomes.”
The i Columnist Kevin Garside wrote: “Almost six months since his Christmas Eve declaration of purchase, Ratcliffe’s motive is revealed for what it always was, a business opportunity aimed at deriving value from a fading asset even more than the hated Glazer regime he diluted.” It’s hard to disagree.
This was just one of many announcements Ratcliffe made to staff, detailing his cost-cutting programme and general displeasure at the way the club was being run
In early May, after a tour of the Trafford Training Centre, Sir Jim sent another email to staff condemning the state of the training ground: “I had a good tour around some of the facilities. I am afraid I was struck in many places by a high degree of untidiness. In particular the IT department which frankly was a disgrace and the dressing rooms of the U18 and U21 were not much better. These standards would not come close to what we would expect at INEOS and we are a chemical company.”
Sir Jim also cited email traffic statistics to Manchester United staff as the basis for a ban on working from home and told them to seek “alternative employment” if they are not willing to come to club premises.
Sir Jim made his edict despite United’s lack of sufficient office space and some consultants on contracts whose terms do not require them to be in the club’s Manchester or London business complexes.
According to the Sun, these communiques have turned the atmosphere at the Carrington training centre ‘toxic,’ although it is understandable that Sir Jim wants to get the basics right and fix United’s organisational challenges.
Shortly after these disciplinary measures, Ratcliffe attended United’s Premier League clash against Arsenal instead of the women’s FA Cup final at Wembley, when United’s women’s team won 4-0 against Tottenham to earn their first major trophy.
Many disgruntled fans took to social media voicing their concerns over this alleged favouritism, presenting Ratcliffe with a further communications set-back, this time with the fans, despite INEOS representation at Wembley.
On X, @TheUnitedWayyyy posted: “Zero excuses for INEOS, Ratcliffe & his representatives not attending the Women’s FA cup final at Wembley.
“The game against Arsenal is not going to decide anything for us. The men’s team’s fate has been decided & is done for. Think it reeks of biased priorities. Not a good sign.”
Ratcliffe was keen to right this wrong, sending a message of congratulations to the women’s team later that day calling it a “wonderful achievement” and a “historic moment” for the club.
For many, this was compared to the Glazers’ reign of operational disinterest, but Marc Skinner, Manchester United’s women’s head coach, was quick to jump to Sir Jim’s defence, insisting that words of encouragement were repeatedly passed on to the players before the final.
But when it was later revealed that the women’s end-of-season awards dinner was to be cancelled, it gave further credibility to concerns that the women’s team is not an INEOS priority.
Once again, Skinner defended his paymaster, saying in a news conference: “I sit in a position of celebration rather than worrying about what has and hasn’t happened. I understand the decision, I respect it and our girls will be presented at the appropriate time with the successes that a club will celebrate.”
Sir Jim may argue that he had to be at Old Trafford for the Arsenal game, given that Labour leader and Arsenal fan, Sir Keir Starmer, and Lord Sebastian Coe, chair of the Old Trafford Regeneration Task Force, were also in attendance.
The regeneration of Old Trafford is a pressing issue with its leaky roof again garnering attention towards the end of United’s 1-0 defeat to the Gunners, that saw 41mm of water cascade through the roof, later dubbed the ‘Old Trafford waterfall.’
Ratcliffe has made his plans for Old Trafford clear from the start, with a vision to create the ‘Wembley of the North’ and provide a stadium that the club can be proud of.
Along with the £237m he has pledged to boosting the club’s infrastructure, Ratcliffe’s close ties with the Labour leader suggests government levelling up funds may account for the difference. Although this remains an obscure longshot, it may explain why Ratcliffe attended Old Trafford in favour of Wembley that day. Whether or not this decision was borne out of political necessity, it seems a poor lapse of judgement.
Ratcliffe has certainly made an impact during his early leadership, with executive appointments, cost-cutting measures and his overall strategy for Manchester United’s governance.
A club of United’s size will always receive significant media attention, so every mis-step has been pored over with results as indifferent to some of Sir Jim’s early initiatives.
These drastic measures demonstrate an unwavering commitment to getting Manchester United back on track in the long-term, and any attempt to instil a degree of vigour should be welcomed with open arms.
But it’s also a reminder that senior leaders, however successful they have been in their professional lives, would do well to work closely with their communications teams.
So often we see that the best intentions, clumsily delivered, can do more harm than good that undermines credibility, trust and the support of those key audiences that leaders seek to engage.
