Made a little thingy to hold my bobbins. It's just a small cardboard tube and some stiff paper with fabric glued on top of it, and I tucked the fabric into the ends but didn't cover them up with anything. I might finish them off with little end pieces at some point, but it's in a box so they're ok for now.
I like to keep my wound bobbins in a box with the spools of matching thread so I don't have to dig through my thread drawer for the right colour, but the bobbins were all lying on their sides and I couldn't see the colours, which was annoying. But now they're all nice and visible, as long as the box doesn't get moved around too much.
The box is one that I made in bookbinding class in college, and I used the same Lineco neutral ph adhesive from that class to glue the bobbin holder thingy.

Quite true on what 'makes a hero'... or perhaps more 'what makes a relatable protagonist' has changed. And some people like the newer takes, others like the older. Neither is wrong to my thinking ^^ and aye, TOS was more of a 'family' targetted show with an expectation that adults could and would watch without kids (and then you had the teen-to-young-adult focused comics and novels). Where-as - so far as I can tell - TaG is pretty solidly targetted at kids in the preteen-to-midteen brackets.
Yeah, like I'm willing to forgive the windows in tos5 because the answer to 'do you not know about' is... No. They didn't, not really. That knowledge would be found out later for the general populace. So I'm willing to let giant-ass windows slide for earlier works of sci-fi. More modern stuff I am less willing, esp when there is otherwise a veneer of harder sci-fi (well... TaG seems to have a veneer of harder sci-fi while actually being much more soft scifi than TOS)
Honestly, given how common giant ass viewscreens and holograms are in the TaG verse, I'd've just had viewscreens... and considering the speed at which the ring would need to spin to produce even Martian Gravity (let alone Earth Gravity) I wouldn't really want to see through the floor ANYWAY... vertigo ahoy! Although check my math... with a 20 meter diameter ring, that should be a rotational speed of... what, 18k/ph (11mph) for Earth Normal? Doesn't sound too fast but it'd be MUCH faster than what we see in the show and wouldn't be the peaceful slow crawl.
In TOS we can get away with windows a liiiiiiiiittle bit more, as "clearsteel" canonically has properties simular to heavily doped glass as we see it being used as protection from radiation while still allowing people to observe in the comics. (Honestly i tend to headcanon that the Calhelium alloy created on Mars in the Fireball comics is 'clearsteel', as Calhelium has radiation blocking qualities that are superior to steel (not as good as lead, but a thick layer of calhelium will be lighter and stronger than an equivilent amount of titanium, but will block radiation decently. If we extend those radiation blocking abilities to the 'transparent calhelium alloy commonly called clearsteel' then you would basically have 'uber doped glass' that would even protect against microstrikes. (As I mentioned before, while I like hard sci-fi, I'm quite willing to have fictional elements like antigravity or 'calhelium' if it's treated IN STORY like a hard sci-fi element with strict rules and limits and the like)
*nods* I thought of Skyhook after posting, but it is a perfect example XD Solves most any problem, really. You could even, as seen in Skyhook, lock the cable feed and just use the ring rotation systems to spool the cable if you needed more torque, letting the cable spool along the outside (although good lord... John, WHY DID YOUSTAY IN THE RING for that?! WHY WERE YOU IN THE RING IN THE *FIRST* PLACE?! Why is drama reliant on characters being dumb XD )

every time we see the earth beneath it / through the windows...

Obviously they used how it looks from the International Space Station, but if tag5 was in geosync the earth would NOT be appearing to move beneath it... rather like the shots we get from tos5, the Earth would appear 'stationary'

Hello!! I'm assuming you're coming in from the stack of memes I made lol so welcome welcome, this is my well-known pet peeve and I will happily explain because it involves my favourite subject - physics!
"Impossible to achieve" isn't quite accurate - my argument is formed purely on the observational evidence of where it is, such that when the show makes references to TB5 being in geostationary orbit it doesn't make sense because it's simply.... not.
So strap in, I'll go through this as clearly as I can but feel free to ask follow up questions :D Or just generally hang out lol TAG is a fun time despite the handwave-y physics ahaha :D
1. What is geostationary orbit?
Geostationary orbit is the specific orbit where a satellite/space station/whatever moves with the exact same period as the Earth's rotation i.e. 24 hours AND is placed so that the object is directly over the equator, it will move in that orbit at the same rate as the location it is over, so that it will always be over that position at all times. This gives it the name "geostationary", implying that the Earth doesn't move relative to the orbiting object, or if you look down you'll always see the same place.
Both conditions must be met for geostationary orbit to occur; an orbit with a greater or lower period will fall out of step with the Earth fairly quickly, and if not on the equator, you'll get a related type of orbit known as a geosynchronous orbit which will move up and down relative to the equator rather than staying put.

Furthermore, I won't take you through the calculation (1 | 2 | 3), but using Kepler's Third Law which is sufficiently accurate for this scenario, this orbit must always be ~36,000 km above the Earth, or the quoted 22,500 miles in the show. That is the main evidence in the show that implies that the writers intended for TB5 to be in geostationary orbit, like TOS was written to be.
However....
2. Why can't TB5 be in geostationary orbit?
It's not that it can't, it's that it isn't! There's two main reasons for this that I return to when grumbling about this to my friends (they are long-suffering on this point lol thank goodness they're reasonably good-humoured about it...)
Reason 1: The size of the Earth from TB5
This is the most damning evidence. Let's make some visual comparisons.
This is what the Earth looks like from the International Space Station which maintains an orbit about 400 km above the surface of the Earth (in a region known as Low Earth Orbit).

It's a little more complicated to show what Earth looks like from geostationary orbit as many satellites in this region are communication relays or broadcasting satellites (very appropriate for TB5 it must be said!!) But that being said, this is a full disk image of Earth from Japan's Himawari 5, a weather satellite in geostationary orbit.

Now take a look at the animation in TAG and decide for yourself what was being used as inspiration!

But I'm a physics nerd, so I won't take blind faith in some pictures! No, no - if there's a specific height that an orbit must maintain in order to remain in this orbit and the size of the Earth doesn't change, then it should follow that the Earth must be some kind of stable "apparent" size that we can figure out. Think about a freestanding house from 40 m away. It doesn't matter in which direction the 40m is, the house takes up the same space in our vision. The same follows here.
Once again, I'll gloss over the calculations ( 1 | 2 | 3) and simply state that from geostationary orbit, the Earth should take up no more than about 20° of our field of vision. In comparison the visual angle of the Moon is about 0.5° so it's still going to look really big!! But not as big as you'd see from the ISS :P If you make both hands into fists, place them next to each other and hold them at arms length from your body, that would be the approximately the width of the Earth from geostationary orbit.

Reason 2: The locations on Earth
This one's a little looser, but it illustrates my second point - in order to be geostationary, TB5 needs to..... stay over one location? Like okay sure it has rockets and engines so that it's able to move around, we've seen them plenty of times. But that doesn't change that fact that even when these are not in use, TB5 is never in one place.

Moral of the story: TB5 could be in geostationary orbit, there's nothing stopping it! But uh... it's not. Thanks for listening ;D

You can thank @variantia​ for this bout of inspiration.
You would think a machine, built of chips and circuits, would be unable to have a quirk. Try telling that to ExopOD-CCXXCIV. Who, upon activation, received their quirk: Through The Storm, allowing them immunity to extreme environments.
ExopOD, or Exoplanetary Observation Drone, was built to explore far off planets for habitable conditions. They are the 284th edition. Small enough to nimbly navigate rough terrain, and big enough to not be knocked around by most organisms. Add on Through The Storm, and you’ve got a robot that’s pretty much invincible.
Of course, TTS can only do so much. As a passive quirk, it’s not something ExopOD can just turn off at will. On top of that, things like bullets and blades will damage ExopOD, as they are not natural. However, they can survive in lava, frozen under ice, and even roll through pure acid unaided due to their quirk. It has also been recorded that wood and stone weapons fall under natural, and as such will not hurt ExopOD.
During their time in testing, it has been discovered that their quirk can also grant them elemental powers at the cost of extra charge. Fire hot as lava, freezing beams cold as the deep ocean, and acid as bad as PH level 1 all at their grasper-tips. However, they still need training to master this aspect.
Of course, this means that during the night or inside, or say it’s a cloudy day, they must use this sparingly. As their battery can only last them a week without using the extra power. The more it’s used, the less power available, and the solar panel on their back can only recharge on a clear day. Not to say solar panels are the only means to get more power, they have a recharge cord spooled up under their front panel, with an adapter for most other outlets.

2021 Most Iconic Art Happening: Threading the Lines of String Art
For most people, two whole years of having to stay inside their houses due to the pandemic has led to their discovery of new interests and hobbies. One of the most common pastimes that can be done inside the comforts of one’s home is playing with shapes and colors and being involved in the arts. Since Filipinos are naturally talented in this area, they can engage in drawing, painting, calligraphy, or digital art. But one of the most iconic art that has risen to fame recently is the intricate but addicting craft of string art.

From simple geometric patterns to full blown portraits, string art uses just two simple materials: nail and thread. To be fair, it can be considered three, if you would include the wood where the nail will be hammered into. String artists create curved patterns out of straight lines using thread, yarn, or other forms of string in order to come up with an artistic piece.
Who knew that several pieces of nails and spools of thread can create an astonishing visual of an artwork? Well, Mary Everest Boole did, but not instantly. The technique used in string art started as an educational tool before it has grown to be a form of art that will capture the attention - and hearts - of many.
Mary Everest Boole, an Englishwoman who was teaching mathematics to children, used curve stitching and became the first known person to form curves out of straight lines. These curves will be later known as the Bèzier curve, from when Pierre Bèzier developed a formula that can describe any second degree curve using just four points. Although mathematical in nature, this formula inspired multiple artists until the birth of string art.
How It’s Done
There are types of art that will keep you wondering how it’s made. Luckily, string art is not one of them. If you look at the equipment needed, it looks pretty simple. All you’re going to need are a hammer and scissors. The materials needed are not intimidating either. But surely, given the complicated and intricate details of the finished product, it will be no wonder that the process is also as detailed as the art itself.
Choose an image.
This first step is very important as it might just dictate the success of your string art. Choose the image you want to turn into a string art and commit to it. For beginners, it is highly recommended that you start with simple patterns or images, as you would not want to get easily overwhelmed.
Prepare your materials.
Just like when cooking, you should also ensure that you have everything ready before starting. Looking for a pair of scissors when you’re already in the zone can easily kill the vibe. And once you have chosen and printed an image, use this as your pattern. Have a photocopy of the image as the same size as the wood you’ll be using, and cut out its silhouette.
Create an outline with nails.
Once you’ve positioned your pattern on the wood, you may use a tape so it wouldn’t easily move. Then, start hammering the nails around your pattern. This will create the outline of your string art. It would be ideal if you can keep the spacing between nails and the depth of each nail even.
Connect the outline with strings.
As what you’ll be doing through the whole process of creating your spring art, connect the nails to form the pattern that you wish. In this case, remove first the paper pattern and then start outlining the image using your string.
To start, tie your string to the first nail, then leave a tail which can be tied again when you finish. You can repeat connecting the nails through several layers of string to avoid breaking it.
Continue until you fill in the image with string
Once your outline has been completed, continue by criss crossing your string from nail to nail. Remember that when you’ve reached a corner and you want to change direction, wrap your string around that nail multiple times to make it more sturdy.
You have the liberty to choose which direction to go, just always keep in mind the pattern you’ve chosen. You can go from top to bottom, or from one corner to another. If you feel like you will already run out of string, try to end on one of the nails used in the outline, so you wouldn’t have to do a knot in the middle of the image. This is also where you’ll start another wool of string again. Just be patient in repeating this process until you’ve created the image you’ve wanted. Do not forget to tie off the end of your very last string.
