We did not get anywhere near enough cross country road-trip in Spiral. Seven people and a vampire in a rusted Winnebago on the run from an angry Hell God with no idea where to go? So much opportunity for comedy. Who begrudgingly has to share a bed, who picks the road trip music and how long does it take for Buffy and Spike come to physical blows over their equally bad (but in different ways) music taste, who does Giles threatened to murder first, and who is in charge of snacks? Like yes, they’re running for their lives, but come on, found family on a road trip is objectively the best trope ever and we were cruelly deprived.
