Ok, I’m just gonna call it - STANDS’ social media rep is an asshole. 

I know people will chafe at that, but seriously, I am DONE with companies using philanthropy and inclusive messaging as a marketing strategy, and then telling me to shut up and go away the moment I'm no longer their target demographic. Unless there is a HUGE tonal change over there, STANDS can kiss my old, queer, super-fan ass.

They posted a tweet today that included a clip from an Indian soap opera that, ngl, was arguably one of the funniest goddamned things I’ve seen in a year. Their caption, though, was “I never want to hear about the writing on your favorite show ever again.” Uhm...that is NOT something I needed to see a company who makes money off of the SPN fandom saying, while I’m still reeling from the finale and dealing with all the mutherfuckers telling us we’re ‘delusional’ and ‘just pissed because we didn’t get our ship’ and ‘you think it’s all about you’ and on and on ad nauseum with their ignorant bullshit.

I could have accepted that STANDS’ tone-deaf post was simply a poorly-worded or ill timed ‘oops’, if, when I called them on it, they hadn’t resorted to gaslighting and sanctimonious victimhood to justify their reiteration of the dismissiveness and hurtful messages (or complete silence) spn fans have been subjected to since the finale.

But STANDS’ response to me telling them they should be a little more goddamned sensitive, was to say, (paraphrasing because I blocked them) ‘lots of shows have bad endings’ and ‘we don’t just cater to spn fans’ - implying that they have SOOO MANY fandoms to think about, they couldn’t possibly know their post might be insensitive. I just checked the STANDS website. There are over 40 items for sale. One is a STANDS gift card. Another is a fanfic travel mug. ALL OTHER ITEMS ARE SPN RELATED. ALL OF THEM. They are WELL AWARE of what happened in November and how it affected at least half the fandom. THEY KNOW we’re still grieving, and they know WHY.

If it had been just a fan who’d posted it, I’d have probably given them the benefit of the doubt or I would have just skipped over it entirely. I HATE drama. I’ve been pissed all day and I’m exhausted, now. I don’t need this. But STANDS has been marketing heavily to the spn fandom for years, including campaigns like AKF, YANA, For LOVE, Family Don’t End With Blood, etc. They are extremely aware of the trends, topics and needs of the SOLE FANDOM THEY’RE CURRENTLY CATERING TO. So for them to act all shocked that I’d dare to tell them their post was fucking calloused and tone-deaf...that was 100% disingenuous. Their follow-up responses were even more gross.

At one point, they tried to get ‘cool’ and ‘hee hee its all fun’ by saying “Catch me salty about GoT”.  I could give a flying fuck about GoT! NOBODY is talking about GoT in this conversation. YOU ARE SELLING ZERO MERCHANDISE FOR GoT OR ANY OTHER FANDOM, WHY ARE YOU BRINGING UP GoT?!

It became very clear why, when they refused to take any responsibility for posting something super tone-deaf and easily translated by this fandom as another, ‘fuck all of you. stop your whining’.

They took our money while calling us ‘spn_family’ for over a decade, and now don’t even have the decency to acknowledge or respect our feelings when we’re grieving.

Enough.

I just can't. I literally can't. This episode just killed me and I need a huuuge bear hug from spn family. When Charlie died i thought that this is the worst thing that they could possibly do. But no! Now Crowley is back (I'm happy actually about that). And Sam... And his face.. And his commitment to save his brother... 😭 But that's not the worst thing. It's not. CASTIEL!!! I literally thought that Dean will kill him. I was crying like a baby... And When he said "Dean, please"... I'm so done. But true love is always winning. Even if Dean is not our hero and brave Dean now because of mark.. They will save him. Right? Because that's what they do.
